A Study on the Relationship between Servant Leadership and Co-worker Trust, Cooperation in the Foodservice Industry (외식업체 조리사들의 서번트 리더십과 동료신뢰 및 협력간의 관계)

  • The fact that cooperation is an essential factor for foodservice industry success has been discovered by many business leaders. Success in entrepreneurial businesses depends upon cooperation. However, there has been a lack of studies done about cooperation in the service industry, particularly levels of cooperation among foodservice employees in an organization. This study is designed to understand the antecedents, servant leadership and trust in co-workers that have a resulting influence on cooperation among foodservice employees. To achieve the study objective, 191 valid questionnaires were statistically analyzed, using frequency analysis, factor, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis. The following is a summary of my verified analysis. First, servant leadership have a positive influence on trust in co-workers. Second, trust in co-workers has a positive influence on cooperation among foodservice employees positively.

Effects of Transformational Leadership on the Organizational Effectiveness of Long-Term Care Facilities : Focusing on the Care Giver's Mediating effect of Empowerment (노인장기요양기관의 변혁적 리더십이 조직효과성에 미치는 영향 : 요양보호사의 임파워먼트 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine effects of empowerment on relationship between supervisors transformational leadership recognized by care givers and organizational effectiveness represented as the job satisfaction and the organizational commitment. For the purpose, survey were conducted with care givers working in long-term care facilities in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do and Incheon, and final data were resulted from analysis of 283 examines of those care givers. The findings of this study were as follows: first, transformational leadership of long-term care facilities had a significant influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Second, the care giver's empowerment had a influence on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Third, empowerment worked as mediators between the transformational leadership of long-term care facilities and care giver's job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Based upon these findings, we can propose practices towards improving a long-term care facilities administrator's transformational leadership and implication of program development and provide an institutional strategy aiming to care giver's empowerment improvement.

A Proposal of a Shape Matching and Geo-referencing method for Building Features in Construction CAD Data to Digital Map using a Vertex Attributed String Matching algorithm (VASM 알고리즘을 이용한 건축물 CAD 자료의 수치지도 건물 객체와의 형상 정합 및 지도좌표 부여 방법의 제안)

  • An integration between construction CAD data and GIS data needs geo-referencing processes of construction CAD data whose coordinate systems are their own native or even unknown. Generally, these processes are based on manually detected conjugate-vertices. In this study, we proposed an semi-automated conjugate -vertices detection method for building features between construction CAD data and a digital map using a vertex attributed string matching algorithm. A geo-referencing function for construction CAD data based on the similarity transform could be derived with those conjugate-vertices. Using our proposed method, we overlaid geo-referenced CAD data to a digital map of the College of Engineering, Seoul National University and evaluated our method.

Hydraulic stability evaluation for deep tunnel on continuous precipitation (연속강우에 대한 대심도 터널의 수리적 안정성 평가)

  • 최근 홍수의 특성과 피해 양상은 과거와는 다르게 변화하고 있으며, 급격한 도시화로 인하여 기존 하천유역의 저류 능력이 감소하였는데 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위하여 이미 외국에서는 대심도 터널을 활용한 홍수재해 관리방안이 오래전부터 활용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 현재 서울시에 건설중인 '신월 빗물저류배수시설' 연속강우 시 대심도 터널의 수리적 안정성 평가와 운영방안 수립을 위한 수리모형실험을 실시하였다. 모형은 Froude 상사법칙을 사용하여 원형의 1/50크기로 제작하였다. 모형의 전체 저류 가능량은 모형기준 $2.78m^3$ (원형 $347,778m^3$)이며, 터널 내 잔류수는 전체 저류 가능량의 0 ~ 100%까지 10%씩 변화시켜 실험 CASE를 선정하였다. 각 실험CASE별 수직 유입구 안정성 평가를 실시한 결과 터널 내 잔류수가 10%~80%까지 존재 할 때는 저지수직구1에서의 압축공기 폭발현상으로 인한 월류현상이 발생하였으며, 10%~40%까지는 저지수직구2에서 월류현상이 발생하였다. 하지만 고지수직구에서는 모든 CASE에서의 공기폭발 현상 및 월류현상이 발생하지 않아 유입성능 및 공기배출 성능이 충분히 발휘되고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 저지수직구1에서의 월류현상 발생 시점은 5분55초에서 3분42초까지 빨라졌으며 저지수직구2에서의 월류현상 발생 시점은 5분57초에서 4분57초로 빨라졌다. 이는 터널 내 잔류수량이 증가할수록 터널 내 만관시점이 빨라져 발생하며, 저지수직구1,2에서의 압축공기 폭발현상 및 월류 현상은 터널 내에서 발생한 반사파의 영향으로 판단된다. 차후 터널 내 반사파 발생에 대한 연구가 추가적으로 진행되어야 할 것이다.

The Moderating Effect of Social Support in the Relationship between Job Stress and Emotional Burnout of Insurance Call center consultants (보험회사 콜센터 상담사의 직무스트레스와 정서적 소진의 관계에서 사회적 지원의 조절효과)

  • This study was to investigate the moderating effect of the social support in the relationship between job stress and emotional burnout of insurance call center consultants. Participants in this study were 186 consultants working in insurance call center. They completed survey questionnaires of job stress, emotional burnout and social support. Collected data was examined using correlation analyses and hierarchical multiple regression analyses. There was a positive relationship between job stress and emotional burnout and a negative relationship between emotional burnout and coworker support. Also, it was found that the social support(supervisor support, coworker support) moderated the relationship between job stress and emotional burnout of insurance call center consultants. The implications and limitations of this study were discussed.

Practical Suggestions for Promoting Maritime Arbitration in Korea (우리나라 해사중재 활성화를 위한 실무적 제언)

  • While maritime arbitration industry has not been prevalent in Korea, Korea ranked fifth in terms of export volume and its shipbuilding industry ranked top globally in shipbuilding order volume in 2020. The discrepancy between the maritime industry's productivity and relative lack of maritime arbitration has had a negative impact on Korea's economic development. To address these problems, this paper i) reviews preceding research, ii) examines the Korean maritime arbitration system's status and analyzes the KCAB's maritime arbitration statistics from 2005-2020, iii) examines major foreign maritime arbitration institutions' status and strategies including LMAA, SMA, SCMA, and HKMAG, and lastly iv) suggests practical ways to promote maritime arbitration in Korea. The Suggestions for promoting maritime arbitration are 1) to prepare and promote various maritime standardized forms for the Korean shipping industry, 2) to insert an arbitration clause in medium and large-size Korean shipping firms' B/L clause, 3) to expand professional maritime manpower training and other infrastructure, and 4) to enhance the predictability of the result of arbitration through maritime arbitral awards or by examining the feasibility of the appeal system against the arbitral award only on a point of law in the future. In conclusion, the success or failure of promoting maritime arbitration in Korea depends on the will, passion, cooperation and practice of the most important key players in maritime arbitration, such as the Asia Pacific Maritime Arbitration Center (APMAC), the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB) and the Seoul Maritime Arbitrators Association (SMAA).

Evaluation of Dissipation Behavior of Excess Pore Pressure in Liquefied Sand Deposit Using Centrifuge Tests (원심모형실험을 이용한 액상화 모래지반의 과잉간극수압 소산거동 분석)

  • Soil liquefaction occurs by complex dynamic interaction between soil particles and pore fluid. Therefore, experimental researches have been widely performed to analyze liquefaction phenomena. In this research, centrifuge tests were performed to analyze the liquefaction behavior of horizontal sand ground. Centrifugal acceleration was 40g and the thickness of model ground was 25cm, which simulates 10m thickness in prototype scale. Viscous fluid was used as pore fluid to remove the time scaling difference between dissipation and dynamic shaking. Test results showed that the dissipation of excess pore pressure is the combined behavior of solidification and consolidation. In addition, the solidification rate, the ground acceleration amplitude, and the dynamic permeability during solidification were influenced by the confining pressure.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of job rotation on employees' motivation and satisfaction. That is, it is the ultimate aim to know why employees want job rotation or why not, whether the rotation has an effect on their motivation, and finally whether the motivation gives direct job satisfaction. As a result of the survey, the efficiency and procedure of job rotation have influence on motivation. The employees also think that regular rotation can help them to find the proper position to meet their aptitude. And motivation also affects employees' achievement, benefits, and relationship with their bosses. Especially, when they feel great achievement and pride in their jobs, their satisfaction appeared to be very high. And when they are paid properly in comparison with their workload, or they learn special knowledge from their bosses, they usually content themselves.

The Effect of Metacognition on Employees Agility: Focusing on the Serial Multiple Mediation of Role Breadth Self-efficacy and Learning Agility (메타인지가 구성원 민첩성에 미치는 영향: 역할확장 자기효능감과 학습민첩성의 직렬다중매개를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of the employee metacognition and it's positive effect on employee agility. Also it aims to investigate the mechanism through the cascading multi-mediating effect through the role breadth self-efficacy and learning agility in such a relationship. In order to solve the common-method bias, independent and dependent variables were measured with time lag, and the relationship between variables was clearly verified by applying the position and the length of time worked with the supervisor as control variables. In testing the hypothesis, 478 questionnaires collected from whom worked at the company has more than 300 office workers in various industries were analyzed. As the result, firstly metacognition had a significant positive(+) effect on employee agility. Second, role breadth self-efficacy was found to positively mediate the relationship between metacognition and employee agility. Third, learning agility was found to mediate metacognition and employee agility positively(+). Fourth, metacognition serially mediates role breadth self-efficacy and learning agility, and the positive(+) effect on employee agility was verified. In addition, metacognition had a greater effect on member agility when passing through role breadth self-efficacy and learning agility rather than the direct effect on employee agility.

Increase of Spillway Discharge by Labyrinth Weir (래버린스위어에 의한 여수로 배제유량 증대)

  • The spillway type of small and midsize dams in Korea is almost overflow weir. To examine flood control capacity of overflow spillway, FLOW-3D was applied to Daesuho dam and analysis was focused on the discharge of dam spillway by changing weir shape. Overflow phases and discharges of linear labyrinth weir and curved labyrinth weir were compared with those of existing linear ogee weir. Hydraulic model experiment was performed to verify numerical result. Verification results showed that overflow behaviors and flow characteristics in the side channel by hydraulic model experiment and numerical simulation are well matched, and water surface elevation at side wall coincides with each other. When the reservoir elevation was increased up to design flood level, in case of the linear ogee weir the flow over the crest ran through smoothly in the side channel, whereas in cases of linear labyrinth weir and curved labyrinth weirs, the flow discharge was increased by 40 cms, and the flow over the weir crest, rotating counter-clockwise, was submerged in the side channel. The results of the water level-discharge curve revealed that labyrinth weir can increase discharge by 71% compared to the discharge of linear ogee weir at low reservoir elevation since it can have longer effective length. But as water surface elevation rises, the slope of water level-discharge curve of labyrinth weir becomes milder by submergence and nappe interference in the side channel.
