Growth in the Service Sector and Its Policy Implication (서비스부문(部門) 성장(成長)과 정책방향(政策方向))

  • Korean economy has experienced rapid expansion of the service sector at the expense of the manufacturing sector since 1988, which was caused by the wage increase and the appreciation of Won. The government worried about the deindustrialization and the erosion of the international competitiveness, and various measures were taken to enduce labor force into the manufacturing sector. However, this article argues that the expansion of the service sector is inevitable phenomenon in the process of economic development, and the balanced industrial policies are desirable. In addition, the Uruguay Round Service Negotiations require liberalization of the service market and internationalization of the service industries.

Quality Improvement Priorities for Cosmetic Store Service Using Kano Model and Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index (Kano 모델 및 잠재적 고객만족 개선 지수를 이용한 화장품 매장 서비스 품질 개선 우선순위)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify priority factors for improving service quality of cosmetic stores in drug stores(DRS) and department stores(DES) and to provide basic data for improving service quality of cosmetic stores by analyzing the service quality based on the Kano model and the Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement (PCSI) Index. As a result, most items of quality factors of cosmetic stores in both stores were evaluated as attractive quality factors. As a result of PCSI Index comparison, the quality factors of 'Reliability', 'Responsiveness', and 'Empathy' items for DRS and 'Empathy' and 'Reliability' items for DES had higher priority for improvement. That is, if these factors are improved, there is a high potential to improve customer satisfaction. Through this study, practical implications were provided by identifying service quality factor classification and priorities for customer satisfaction improvement of DRS and DES. This is expected to contribute to the guidelines for improving customer satisfaction in the future.

  • Korea manufacturers(SMEs) try to reduce logistics costs and make its efficiency by out-sourcing to a third party logistics company. It will improving logistics service for customers by reducing logistics management factors and decreasing related logistics. To reduce logistics cost, recently, logistics services have had a great effect on customer satisfaction, particularly, it is necessary to conduct detailed study on the effect on cost. In this study, firstly, we analyze the factor of improvement of logistics service of the third party logistics company based on the questionnaire and analyze quantitatively the effect of cost reduction compared to logistics service improvement through sensitivity analysis for each factor do. The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between logistics costs and the increase the logistic service factor.

  • Current socioeconomic condition in South Korea is characterized by growing country with highly unemployment rate. Enhancing service industry, therefore, is one of the important government policy issues. In addition to quantitative growth of service industries, OECD comparisons between countries as shown in the competitiveness of the domestic service industry, followed by a very low-level, enhancing the competitiveness of service industries are also important issues of national policy. In particular, finance, education, insurance industry, such as relatively large enterprises have entered the service industry to remain competitive and comparable, but the case of small service industries, has shown a very low level of competitiveness. Thus, the world's leading technology and IT infrastructure can be applied to small and medium-sized service industry in order to improve productivity, customer satisfaction, and service infrastructure, resulting in improving competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to develop government supporting policy issues by analyzing the current usage of IT, problems and requirement analysis, and critical success factors for applying IT to small and medium-sized service industries. For a survey 2,000 samples are collected from service companies. The results show that IT usage is very important to improve competitiveness in small and medium sized service industry. In addition, customized it solutions are needed to satisfy different characteristics of service industry depends on types of business. Finally, government supporting programs of IT has to be improved. The results would be able to provide directions and guide lines of IT utilization in service industries.

  • In this paper, we consider the Femtocell based enterprise wireless network using 2G/3G/4G cellular network technologies. And, we apply the open network service API which enable an easy development of ISP or enterprise services to P2P enterprise services. Based on the proposed scheme, enterprise services can be always connected at anywhere and anytime via heterogeneous devices. By using a qualitative analysis, we evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme and compare with that of the famous P2P service - Skype. Results show that the proposed scheme requests smaller servers and flows with enhanced service quality.

  • The objective of this study is to build up an electronic reference service system specifically in the field of nuclear. Comparing with a library service system, this on has some advantages in that users can obtain information services through the network without spending much time and labor in visiting the library in person. A questionnaire was inquired for 300 researchers to get useful information for the building of the system. This system was proved to be useful by users.

  • IEEE 802.11의 매체 접근 제어 MAC 프로토콜은 두가지 운영 방법을 제공한다. 하나는 실시간 응용 서비스가 아닌 데이터를 지원하기 위한 임의 접근 (random access)모드이고 다른 하나는 실시간 응용 서비스를 지원하기 위한 폴링 (polling) 모드이다. 폴링 모드는 PCF (Point Coordination Function) 라 불리우는 비경쟁 (non contention) 방식의 MAC 프로토콜이다. PCF 는 노드의 지연 (delay)의 증가와 처리율(throughput) 의 감소가 가장 큰 문제가 된다. 처리율 향상을 위해 ERR (Embedded Round Robin) 방식이 제안되었다. 그러나 ERR은 노드의 지연이 여전히 문제로 남아있다. 본 논문에서는 노드의 지연과 처리율을 동시에 향상시킬 수 있는 QRR (Request Round Robin)을 제안한다. 시뮬레이션에 의하여 제안한 QRR 이 ERR보다 성능향상이 됨을 보인다.

  • 최근 인터넷을 통한 UHD (Ultra High Definition) 스트리밍 서비스의 수요가 증가했으며 네트워크에 효율적으로 비디오 스트리밍 서비스를 제공하기 위해 HTTP 적응적 스트리밍 (HTTP Adaptive Streaming, HAS) 서비스가 등장하였다. 그러나 HTTP 적응적 스트리밍은 세그먼트의 ON-OFF 패턴으로 인해 다중 클라이언트 환경에서 공정성 (Fairness), 안정성 (Stability), 효율성 (Efficiency)을 저하시키는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 다수의 HAS 클라이언트 환경에서 공정성, 안정성, 효율성을 향상시키기 위한 홈 공유기에서 인코딩 비트율 기반의 대역폭 할당 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 OFF 구간을 줄이기 위해 인코딩 비트율에 맞추어 할당할 대역폭을 결정함으로써 안정적인 스트리밍을 보장한다. 실험을 통해 다중 HAS 클라이언트 환경에서 공정성, 안정성 및 효율성이 향상된 것을 확인하였다.

  • 최근 이동전화 시장은 전 세계 대부분의 국가에서 3세대 서비스의 부진과 음성서비스의 포화 내지는 정체상태에 직면하고 있으며, 3세대 IMT2000 서비스의 경우, 기존망의 급속한 성능 향상과 장비 및 단말기 개발 지연 등으로 이용자의 Needs를 충분히 반영하지 못하여 시장 활성화가 부진한 상태이다. 음성서비스와 함께 이동전화 서비스의 양축이라 할 수 있는 무선인터넷 서비스의 경우 음성을 중심으로 한 이동전화 시스템 특성상 저속의 전송속도 및 비싼 요금 문제로 이동전화 시장이 포화된 우리나라에서 조차도 서비스 확산에 어려움을 겪고 있는 상황이다.   • Traffic이 집중되어 광고시장의 대부분을 장악하고 있다는 포탈서비스의 매력 때문에 많은 기업이 포탈 서비스 시장에 뛰어들고 있으나 투자자나 기업의 가치 향상을 위한 포탈 서비스기업의 가치에 대한 평가는 전무한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 포탈 서비스의 특징과 영역을 정의하고 주요 성공요인을 도출함으로서 포탈 서비스 기업의 가치를 평가하는 기준, 그리고 기존의 재무 지표, 산업/시장의 성장 등 기존의 기업 평가 지표를 도출된 가치 평가 기준을 통하여 미래의 기업 가치까지 평가함으로서 포탈 서비스 기업의 가치를 평가할 수 있는 모델을 제시하였다.
