A significant influence of gender and mental health on the adjustment to college life was found in this sample. These findings are expected contribute to understanding and improving the adjustment to college life of undergraduate students. Based on these findings, it will be necessary to improve mental health and multidisciplinary interventions will be needed to support the adjustment to college life in undergraduate students. The purpose of this study was to investigate the major selection motivation, academic stress, self-efficacy and college life adjustment and identify influencing factors of college life adjustment in the crisis situation of COVID-19. 243 nursing students were selected from 2 regions through convenience sampling. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS for Windows Ver. 22.0. The higher the major selection motivation and self-efficacy, the higher the college life adjustment. The lower the academic stress, the higher the college life adjustment. The factors influencing college life adjustment were self-efficacy, major selection motivation, monthly allowance, and the explanatory power of these variables for college life adjustment was 65.6%. Therefore, in order to improve the nursing students' college life adjustment, it is necessary to develop and apply college life adjustment program to increase self-efficacy.
The purpose of this study is to examine distress and difficulties experienced by multi-cultural elementary students in our society and to identify replaceable resources related to their school adjustment. For this, semi-structured interview consisting of questions related to these issues was conducted to 14 multi-cultural elementary students of 3rd to 6th grade who were living in a metropolitan area. Qualitative data were analyzed based on Giorgi's(1985) method of phenomenological analysis, which led to three dimensions in relation to elementary school adjustment: individual, relationship, and societal dimensions. Also, for school adjustment, education was found to be needed at the level of individuals, family, and multi-cultural cognition. Lastly, as for multi-cultural elementary students to adjust well not only at the school but also in Korean society overall, they must have positive national identity and multi-cultural recognition. Finally, their school adjustment were discussed in relation to these findings.
This study aimed to identify the correlation of stress-coping, humor sense, and adaptation to college of nursing students. Three hundred thirty eight subjects completed a structured questionnaire in June 2012. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The mean scores were as follows; stress-coping 43.33, humor sense 72.18, and adaptation to college 68.02. It meant beyond the intermediate level. Significant differences were found between adaptation to college scores and general characteristics such as gender, academic year, family type, economic status, campus life satisfaction, relation with faculties, grade, and the relationship with the opposite gender. There was significant but weak correlation of stress-coping, humor sense, and adaptation to college. These results suggest that it is necessary to develop individualized education programs considering students' characteristics. Additionally, university adjustment related factors should be studied.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Grit and stress and college adjustment of nursing college students and to confirm the effect of nursing students' adaptation to college life. The study subjects were 145 students who agreed to participate in this study after completing at least one semester of clinical practice. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 23.0 program using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, Multiple regression analysis. There was a significant positive correlation between college life adaptation and grit (r=.17, p=.047) and a negative correlation between stress and university life (r=-.31, p<.001). Grit and stress had an explanatory power of 11.2% on adaptation to college life(F=9.98, p<.001). The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to improve nursing students' Grit level and to develop effective stress management programs for their adaptation to college life.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of elementary school students' stress and social support on smartphone addiction and school adjustment. Our hypothesis is that stress and social support of elementary school students affects smartphone addiction and school adjustment. In addition, the study model assumes that stress and social support of elementary school students were mediated by the effects of smartphone addiction. Analysis results found that elementary school students' stress affects smartphone addiction and school life adaptation, and social support influences school life adaptation. Elementary students' smartphone addiction has little influence on school life adjustment. Stress in elementary school students has a strong influence on smartphone addiction, social support, and adaptation to school life. In other words, higher stress levels results in higher frequency of use of smartphones, which may directly affect smartphone addiction and the ability to adapt to school life. The effects of stress and social support of elementary school students on school life adaptation and smartphone addiction were ultimately indirect. Based on the research results, this study suggests policy implications for elementary school students' addiction to smartphone and ability to adapt to school life.
