The Effect that Participating Motives and Involvement about Lifelong Education have on the Learners' Satisfaction, Continuous Intention to Take Courses, and Recommendation Intention (평생교육에 대한 참여동기와 관여가 평생교육 학습자의 만족, 지속수강의도, 권유의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the effect the motives for participating in lifelong education and involvement on lifelong education have on the learners' satisfaction from lifelong education, the continuous intention to take courses, and the intention to recommend lifelong education. The results from a quantitative research show that the practical and recreational motives had a high positive correlation to situational involvement in lifelong education and that the relational and goal-oriented motives had a high positive correlation to continuous involvement in lifelong education. Moreover, for satisfaction about teaching methods, practical motives had a relatively higher effect. For satisfaction about facility comfort, recreational motives had a relatively higher effect. For satisfaction about communication, relational motives had a relatively higher effect. For satisfaction about contents' quality, goal-oriented motives had a relatively higher effect. The finding also shows that situational involvement had a relatively higher effect on satisfaction about contents' quality. Continuous involvement had a relatively higher effect on satisfaction about teaching methods.

The Impact of Dispositional versus Situational Attributions on Consumer Responses to Noncelebrity Testimonial Advertising (기질적 귀인과 상황적 귀인이 비유명인 증언식 광고에 대한 소비자반응에 미치는 영향)

  • This research investigates the role of causal inferences about the endorser's motivation - specifically, dispositional versus situational attributions - and their impact on persuasion of noncelebrity testimonial advertisements. Based on the correspondent inference theory and the relevant literature, it is posited that consumers will generate predictable patterns of attributional responses to testimonial messages, which in turn will influence ad and brand evaluations. An experiment with 335 consumer panelists, after a pilot experiment with the college student sample, has been conducted. Results suggest the greater impact of dispositional attributions than situational attributions on persuasion of noncelebrity testimonial messages and general evocations of situational attributions regardless of the levels of endorser credibility and dispositional attributions. On the basis of the findings from this study, theoretical and practical implications are discussed, as are directions for future research.

  • 안전교육을 위한 방법으로 체험교육은 일반 국민들이 사고예방법이나 사고발생시 올바른 대처방법을 체험하게 함으로서 스스로를 안전하게 지킬 수 있는 능력을 습득하는데 매우효과적인 중재전략이다(강신광, 2003: 142-143 전세중, 2008). 또한 학생들을 대상으로 소방안전교육을 실시하고 있지만 교과서에 수록되어 있는 그림이나 이론 위주의 주입식 교육이 주를 이루고 있어 혼란스러운 응급 상황에서 올바르게 대응하기 위해서는 반드시 실제와 같은 가상 상황에서 반복적인 훈련을 통하여 체험할 수 있어야 한다(김현기, 2006 전세중, 2008). 그리하여 김태환(2001: 83-117)은 국민의 안전의식의 향상을 위한 안전 개선에는 주민 스스로가 안전사고에 대한 예방과 유사시 긴급대응을 할 수 있도록 안전에 대한 적극적이고 능동적인 체험교육을 위한 교육시설이 필요하다고 하였다. 안전체험관 설립을 위한 시민의식 조사 연구(김태환, 2001: 83-117)에서도 대부분의 응답자들은 안전사고 발생에 대한 불안감을 가지고 있으나 대처요령을 잘 모르고 있다고 함으로서, 주입식 안전교육의 한계를 극복하고 일반인의 안전의식 결여를 해결하기 위한 체험식 교육을 시행할 수 있는 재난안전체험관의 설립이 시급하다고 주장하였다. 재난발생시 위기상황에서 적용할 수 있는 현장 체험식 안전교육이 필요하다는 사회적 요구에 따라 2003년 최초로 안전종합체험관 형태의 서울시민안전체험관이 개관되었다. 이를 계기로 여러 지방자치 단체에서도 현장과 유사한 교육상황을 제공할 수 있는 안전체험교육의 필요성을 절감하고 잇달아 안전체험관을 설립하여 운영하고 있다.

  • The purpose of this study was to design the new teaching strategy based on the particulate model facilitating the reflective thinking (RE-PM) in the learning of the particulate nature of matter, and to investigate the effect of the new teaching strategy in compare with the traditional teaching strategy (TS-PM) after treating with new teaching strategy on preliminary teachers of elementary school. The problems of traditional teaching strategy are as follows: 1) Most of students didn't think the particulate model connected with practical material. 2) Most of students have a tendency of the rote memory on learning of the traditional particulate model. 3) The ratio of changing the view of continuous matter into the view of particulate nature of matter was very low, after learning the particulate model using of the traditional teaching strategy. The new teaching strategy facilitating the reflective thinking was more effective on the understanding of particulate nature of matter and the driving of motivation than the traditional teaching strategy in the learning of the particulate nature of matter.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of need for closure on college students' problem recognition and communication behavior. Specifically, this research examined differences about situation recognitions and communication behaviors across level of need for closure factors (preference for order and structure, preference for predictability, decisiveness, discomfort with ambiguity, closed-mindeness). The results show that the participants with higher level of discomfort with ambiguity and low level of closed-mindeness are more likely to high problem recognition, constraint recognition, involvement recognition, and doing active communication behaviors.

  • Purposes of this study was as following; What differences do subjective indicators of deception detection according to high and low stake situations? Does groups difference appear in beliefs about deception cues? Is what differences between objective indicators and subjective indicators of deceptions? Participants of this study were consisted of university students, prison officers, prisoners. They completed a questionnaire concerning beliefs about 21 verbal and nonverbal behaviours in high/low-stake situations. For each behaviour, they were asked to rate on a seven-point scale how are these behaviours changed comparing to normal times. The results were that subjective indicators of deception were no differences between high-stake and low-stake situations, and no differences among groups. Also, it appeared that the subjective indicators of deception were substantly different from the objective indicators of deception.

Effects of Situational Involvement on Impulse Buying of Apparel Products in Cable TV Home Shopping (케이블 TV 홈쇼핑에서 의류제품 충동구매에 대한 상황적 관여 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of situational involvement on impulse buying of clothing products in cable TV home shopping. Data were obtained from 235 women aged between 20 and 50 living in Seoul metropolitan area who have bought apparel products on impulse through cable TV. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, cluster analysis, MANOVA, and Chi-square analysis. By factor analysis, two factors of situational involvement factors were identified: Emotional Involvement and Cognitive Involvement. Based on situational involvement, consumers were classified into four groups; High Involvement, Low Involvement, Cognitive Involvement, and Emotional Involvement groups. These groups showed different decision making styles. The situational involvement groups were also different in terms of demographic characteristics, purchase behaviors, types of impulse purchase products, and responses to marketing stimuli. The findings of this study provide useful information for retails of Cable TV home shopping. Retailers may need to make useful marketing efforts for each types of situational involvement.

The difference of cultural emotions in unfair situation in Korea, China, Japan, and the U.S. (부당한 상황에서 경험되는 정서의 문화 차이: 한국, 중국, 일본, 미국을 중심으로)

  • There could be different ways of perception, emotions, and behaviors facing on unfair situation according to the culture background by which people have been affected. We investigated whether definition, feelings, and behaviors in 4 countries (Korea, China, Japan, and the US) would differ in terms of unfair situations. We further examined the relationship between new self-construal model (subjectivity-objectivity-autonomy model) and behaviors resulted from unfair situations. Three hundred seventeen participants (87 Koreans, 71 Chinese, 80 Japanese, and 79 Americans) took part in this research. We found that all countries defined unfair situation as "having a disadvantage or blame that one did not done by him or her" with the highest percentage, but there was a different percentage according to countries. Next, Chinese felt disappointment or betray from the situations highly while others expressed anger with the largest portion. In the area of behaviors, three countries in Asia answered "no behaviors" with the highest percentage while Americans mostly responded "direct expressions". In terms of self-construal model, subjective self was high in Chinese and Koreans while autonomy was high in Chinese and American. Japanese showed objective self with the highest. Implications and future research are discussed.
