지난 8월 16일 농림수산검역검사본부는 7개 산란계농장을 추가로 동물복지 축산농장 인증을 마쳤다. 동물복지 축산농장(산란계)은 총 19개로 지정되었으며 안성시에서 유일하게 김종찬 사자의 '해샘찬농장'이 인증을 받았다. 해샘찬농장은 고가다리 밑 터널을 입구로 사용해 마치 요새와 같은 모양새를 띄고 있다. 철저한 출입제한과 방역활동으로 질병예방에 만전을 기하고 있다. 김종찬 사장은 본회 안성채란지부 사무국장과 계란자조금관리위원으로 활동하며 산란계 산업 발전과 농가 권익향상을 위해 책임과 임무를 다하고 있다. 김종찬 사장을 만나 농장 운영 방법과 산란계산업이 나아갈 방향에 대해 들어보았다.

In order to analyze the meteorological factors influencing breeding activities of the Kaloula borealis, spawning sites which are located in Daejung-Eub, Jeju Island were investigated for 4 years from 2008 to 2011. The factors for analysis were rainfall, humidity, temperature, barometric pressure and wind speed. Comparative analysis were done on the spawning activities on rainy days. The analysis shows that the main factors influencing breeding activities of the Kaloula borealis are rainfall, humidity, and barometric pressure. The most influencing factor among them is rainfall. According to the analysis, the Kaloula borealis participate in spawning activities when it rains hard and humidity and barometric pressure also have influence on their spawning activities to a certain degree. As for temperature, the breeding season is summer so it meets one of the conditions for breeding activities. As a result, like the previous studies on other anurans in temperate regions, rainfall and temperature have a great impact on breeding activities of the Kaloula borealis.

Oviposition activities of the larger black chafer(HolotTichia mOTosa Waterhouse) and Korean black chafer(H. diomphalia Bates) were examined in the laboratory and field from 1985 to 1990. In H. mOTosa and H. diomphalia, total durations of oviposition were 31.70$\pm$17.33 days and 61.17$\pm$23.15 days, numbers of days of actual oviposition were 9.00$\pm$5.03 days and 22.33 $\pm$11.72 days, total numbers of eggs laid laid per female were 23.43$\pm$16.26 and 65.67$\pm$37.97, and numbers of eggs laid per female per day were 2.60$\pm$2.50 and 2.94$\pm$2.34, under laboratory conditions. Difference of total numbers of eggs per female between both species seemed to be due mainly to numbers of days of actual oviposition. Oviposition period under laboratory conditions was considerably delayed behind that in the field in H. morosa but the two oviposition periods were almost overlapped in H. diomphalia. In the field, rates of gravid females of H. diomphalia were obviously higher than those of H. mOTosa, but numbers of eggs per gravid female were almost same in the two species, H. diomphalia adults did not show marked oviposition and feeding preference among several species of weed plants in the insect net chamber.

산란계임의자조금 사업은 채란인들이 자율적으로 기금을 조성해 소비자들에게 우리 계란의 안전성과 품질의 우수성을 알려 산란계 산업 활성화를 목적으로 하고 있다. 본회에서는 한국식생활개발연구회를 통해 지난 11월 25일부터 12월 3일까지 서울, 이천, 강원지역을 돌며 총 311명의 조리과 학생을 대상으로 계란요리교육을 실시했다. 미래의 조리기능인으로 식품조리 및 구매와 깊은 연관성이 있는 조리과 학생을 대상으로 실시한 이번 소비홍보행사는 국내산 계란의 영양학적 우수성과 식품안전성 강의와 함께 식단활용도가 다양한 조리법 시범과 실습 교육을 실시해 계란의 소비저변확대에 기여하는 자리를 가졌다

This paper studies the origin of low back-scattering area appeared on the SAR image taken on the coastal waters off the southeast coast of Korea on July 5, 2000. Cold waters were frequently observed during summer on this coastal waters, and quasi-simultaneously taken AVHRR and SeaWiFS images also showed cold surface waters and high concentration of chlorophyll-a, respectively. By synergetic analysis of multi-sensor satellite images, it is strongly suggested that the cold and nutrient rich upwelling waters caused the high phytoplankton density and high biological activities in the water producing natural films for low back-scattering.

양계업의 환경이 변하고 있다. 친환경과 안전성을 소홀히 하면 경쟁에서 살아남을 수 없고 정부 정책도 농가 보호가 아닌 농가 규제로 흘러가다 보니 농가들의 고충은 이만저만이 아니다. 35년간 양계업과 인연을 맺고 있는 정기훈 대표(정훈농장)는 '소비자를 외면하면 살 수 없다'. '농가들이 협회를 중심으로 뭉쳐야 한다.'라며 농장 관리뿐 아니라 대내외적인 활동을 통해 농가들의 권익 보호를 위해 앞장서고 있다. 본고는 농장에서는 철저한 사양관리를 실천하며 농부로서의 일에 심취하고 대외적 활동을 할 때는 정책 문제나 협회 운영에 대해 날카롭게 문제점을 지적, 방향을 제시해 주는 조언자로 활동하고 있는 정기훈 대표를 만나 농장 현황 및 양계산업 발전 방안을 들어보았다.

부모 가업을 잇는 후계자들이 늘어나면서 양계인 2세대 경영인들의 조합 또는 조직화된 모임이 탄탄하게 결성돼 왕성히 활동하고 있다. 부모로부터 기술과 경영력을 물려받고, 축산 전문 교육 과정 수료 등 전문 지식 습득과 2세대 양계인들은 서로간의 정보 교류까지 더해져 보다 빠른 시대변화에 적응하고 경쟁력을 갖추고 있다. 산란계 분야에서는 2세대 법인 또는 조직적인 모임으로 대표적으로 경기도 광주 일대의 '다한영농조합법인'과 김포 일대의 '풍우동주'가 있으며 경상도 일대의 '대구경상계우회(이하 대경회)'가 요즘 핫한 산란계 2세대 양계인 모임이다. 2016년 신년을 맞아 대경회 회장이자 경북 칠곡군 소재 창일농장에서 부모의 가업을 이어 부모님과 함께 경영하는 이수고 대표를 만나 농장 운영과 대외 활동사항에 대해 인터뷰한 내용을 정리했다.

2014년 1월 16일 2년 8개월 만에 발생한 고병원성 AI가 여전히 산발적으로 국내에 발생하고 있는 상황에 따라 농림축산식품부는 지난 17일 오전 6시부터 18일 오후 6시까지 36시간 동안 전국단위의 일시이동중지(Stand-still)를 발령하고 일제소독 등 방역작업을 하였다. 한편, 경기도 여주시의 산란계농장(30만 수)에서 고병원성 AI 확진판정을 받았고 최근 나이지리아 산란계 및 육계농장에서 H5형 고병원성 AI가 발생했다는 OIE의 긴급보고가 있었다. 또한, 국내 철새도래지의 야생철새 분변에서도 AI바이러스가 검출되고 있는 상황이다. AI 최근 동향을 살펴보고 농가에서 자율적으로 실천할 수 있는 방역활동 내용을 요약 정리하였다.
