  • To use surveying data obtained from different sensors and different techniques, it is a pre-requite step that register them in a common coordinate system. For this purpose, we developed methodologies to register airborne photos, ALS (Airborne Laser Scanning) data and digital maps. To achieve this, conjugate features from these data should be extracted in advance. In this study, linear features are chosen as conjugate features. Based on such a selection strategy, a simple and robust algorithm is proposed for extracting such features from ALS data. Then, to register them, observation equations are established from similarity measurements of the extracted features and the results was evaluated statistically. The results clearly demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are appropriate to register these data.

  • More than ten years after the era of GPS-Photogrammetry which could provide us only three projection center of all six exterior orientation parameters, direct georeferencing with GPS/INS is now becoming a standard method for image orientation. Its main advantage is to skip or reduce the indirect ground control process. This paper describes the experimental test results of integrated sensor orientation with a commercial GPS/IMU system to approve its performance in determination of exterior orientation. For this purpose two different imaging blocks were planned and the area was photographed at a large photo scale of 1:5,000 and a medium photo scale of 1:20,000. From these data set a variety of meaningful results was acquired, i.e., the accuracy. potential of exterior orientation from direct georeferencing and combined block adjustment using these data considering different photo scales and conditions.

  • In this study 3D topographic modeling was made by using aerial photography and digital terrain map, through this we did visibility analysis and implemented Web GIS of Dong-A university. Studying area was Busan Saha-gu Hadan-dong, we used aerial photography on a scale of 1:20,000 and digital terrain map on a scale of 1:5,000. Ortho correction image was made by aerial photography through selecting GCP, image matching, image resampling and precise differential rectification. And DEM on digital map was created using ArcView program, making 3D topographic modeling by road layer and building layer and implementing Web GIS about Dong-A university.

  • In this study, it was estimated efficiency of GPS/INS photogrammetry by comparison of accuracy and economical efficiency between conventional aerial triangulation and GPS/INS aerial triangulation at the base of large scale digital mapping using GPS/INS aerial survey. The results of aerial triangulation with GPS/INS showed that 40% of working amount was reduced in the process of ground control point survey compared to conventional aerial triangulation. In case of 1/5000 scale aerial triangulation, the results showed that 55% GCP work was reduced in 10 and 20 block size, and 60% GCP work was reduced in 30 block size, under the assumption of keeping the same accuracy.

  • In this study, we try to develope the radio control photographing system with 35 mm camera to obtain 3-dimension large scale geographic information more effectively, to automatize and computerize the basic design and practical design of road. By applying this system on getting data which is needed to design road, this study has an object to promote efficiency in possesion and management of geographic information. As result of this study, this system could obtain geographic information effectively on the object region, could get large scale geographic information which was suitable for expected accuracy by photographing in 400 m height and could ac-quire profile, crossection and earth-work volume quickly and exactly.

  • This study : An analysis of position accuracy of topography according to using LiDAR data, aerial photo and digital map for a study area was conducted. The study area was selected in Hadan area, Sahagu, Busan aerial LiDAR data and aerial photo in the scales of 1:20,000, which are high tech surveying ways were used. The final digital orthoimage according to orientation process for each image and image resampling was producted. Using it, a checkpoint was chosen, information about the checkpoints selected was extracted, a coordinate of Horizontal Position through the screen digitizing was also extracted. Both the coordinates of LiDAR data and aerial photo using digital map in the scales of 1:20,000 announced to the public from NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) were gradually compared and analyzed. Based on the digital map, as a result of being both compared and analyzed, it has shown to us that horizontal position of aerial photo is more accurate than that of aerial LiDAR surveying (RMSE-building x:24cm, y:26cm).

  • This study presents the application of multi-temporal aerial photographs in detecting change in a small urban area. For the panchromatic aerial images of the scale of 1/20000 and 1/37500 photographed in 1987, 1996 and 2000, image geometric correction and registration were carried out before performing change detection in a common reference system and then image mosaicking. The image differencing technigue was employed to detect urban features and landcover change and then the results were compared to those of image ratioing techniques. Also threshold values were suggested in applying image differencing for change detection.

  • The need of aerial photographs is increasing for small area development such as facility management, site planning, residence planning, and so on. It is not an easy task, however, to take aerial photographs using an aircraft for metric photogrammetry because of the strict regulatins of flying and also photographing in Korea, as well as the cost. As one of efficient methods to take large-scale aerial photographs, we investigated the ways of photographing by a remote controlled model plane(RC plane) with a light weight non-metric camera on board. We had examined the principles of RC planes and assembled a RC plane, And test photographing was performed. Even though we obtained reasonably good stereo-pairs for the grounds and facilities using the RC plane, we found there were yet many problems to be solved, such as difficulties of RC plane control, camera focusing, and accumulation of dust on the camera lens.

  • This study intended to extract the spatial data and attribute data from the images of terrestrial and aerial photographs and to compile the digital map from the images using various kinds of photogrammetric analysis. The Three Dimensional Frame Model (3DFM) was produced from multiple images of terrestial photographs, and the Three Dimensional Photo Image Model (3DPIM) was made using 3DFM and image patches of terrestrial photo, which is useful for identifying the feature and characteristics of the object. In addition, the spatial data base for the buildings, roads and supplementary facilities in the objective area was updated by the vectorizing procedures with small scale areal photos.
