Analyzing Place Location Knowledge Items of the Korean Geography Subject in the College Scholastic Ability Test: Focusing on Human (Economic) Geography (대학수학능력시험 한국지리 과목의 위치정보 문항 출제 경향 연구: 인문(경제)지리 문항을 중심으로)

  • The present research explores the tendency of the items that require Place Location Knowledge (PLK) of the Korean Geography subject in the College Scholastic Ability Test. The major findings are as follows. First, the geographical regions of the items are spatially skewed, especially in the Yeongnam regions, which are tested more frequently compared to the others. Second, the fact-based items more concern with regionality such as geographic indication system and regional festivals. Third, the concept-based items can be divided into physical geography and human geography and there were four items related to economic geography. Fourth, students tend to find it challenging in the items asking PLK. The difficulty varies according to the type of items. The students find concept-based items which require high-order thinking more challenging. There is also differences identified between contents. For example, the section of physical geography, especially climatology-related, were considered the most challenging followed by those of economic geography. Finally, the differences in the rate of correct answer are associated with the scale of the regions covered in the items and students experienced more difficulty in the items asking more precise scale.

A Review of Media Framing on the Discourse of Safety Accidents Occurring during Outdoor Educational Activities : Focusing on the Press Release Example of Marine Corp Camp (야외교육활동 안전사고 담론에 관한 미디어 프레이밍 고찰 : 사설해병대 캠프사고 보도 사례를 중심으로)

  • This study selected the Marine Corps camp accident in 2013 as its subject and analyzed it in order to explore the relevance of media framing on discourse on the safety of outdoor experience activities. Data were collected from search sites provided by news coverage data from March 26, 2010 when the sinking of the South Korean Navy corvette Cheonan occurred in South Korea, which had seen a surge in Marine Corps experience camps, to July 21, 2013, a few days after the Marine Corps camp accident. Data about a total of 211 cases 138 cases before the Marine Corps camp accident, and 73 cases after the accident were inductively analyzed. According to the results, news coverages on the Marine Corps camp were largely divided into positive framing that glamorized outdoor experience activities before the accident and negative framing after the accident. To put it concretely, the framing before the accident tended to glamorize outdoor experience activity as the best educational program which helped the participants to enhance their patience and sense of independence through boot camp experience, thereby increasing their self-esteem and arousing their cooperative spirit as members of society. However, after the accident media framing tended to publicize insensitivity to safety. The media framing characterized by dualistic coverage is considered to be an obstacle to the spread of safety culture, which is required in South Korean society. Therefore, media need to maintain more cool-headed and objective attitudes when reporting news.

Characteristics of Algebraic Thinking and its Errors by Mathematically Gifted Students (수학영재의 대수적 사고의 특징과 오류 유형)

  • The study aimed to investigate the characteristics of algebraic thinking of the mathematically gifted students and search for how to teach algebraic thinking. Research subjects in this study included 93 students who applied for a science gifted education center affiliated with a university in 2015 and previously experienced gifted education. Students' responses on an algebraic item of a creative thinking test in mathematics, which was given as screening process for admission were collected as data. A framework of algebraic thinking factors were extracted from literature review and utilized for data analysis. It was found that students showed difficulty in quantitative reasoning between two quantities and tendency to find solutions regarding equations as problem solving tools. In this process, students tended to concentrate variables on unknown place holders and to had difficulty understanding various meanings of variables. Some of students generated errors about algebraic concepts. In conclusions, it is recommended that functional thinking including such as generalizing and reasoning the relation among changing quantities is extended, procedural as well as structural aspects of algebraic expressions are emphasized, various situations to learn variables are given, and activities constructing variables on their own are strengthened for improving gifted students' learning and teaching algebra.

Analysis of the Actual Conditions of the Asphalt Regulations by Fire Service Organizations and Explosion Cases (아스팔트에 대한 소방기관의 규제 실태와 폭발사례의 분석)

  • Because asphalt is a solid at normal temperature and is not a hazardous material as stipulated in the Safety Management Act on Hazardous Materials, it is often recognized as having no risk of fire or explosion. On the other hand, it is as dangerous as flammable liquid because it is heated to $170-180^{\circ}C$ and stored in a storage tank. This study analyzed the risk of fire and explosion during the storage and handling of asphalt and the actual conditions of asphalt regulations by fire service organizations. Moreover, this study analyzed the domestic case of explosions in the production process of asphalt concrete (ASCON) and domestic and foreign cases of asphalt storage tank explosions. The analysis suggested that unlike Japan, Korea has no asphalt regulations in fire service organizations. Explosions can occur when ignition is delayed after fuel is sprayed on the dryer drum burner of the aggregates during the production of ASCON. A physical explosion can occur in the storage tank when environmental purification facilities suddenly work strongly to remove air pollutants or bad smells during the heating of asphalt in an asphalt storage tank. In addition, explosions can occur when fires such as welding is performed in the asphalt storage tank.

  • As various convergency products have been actively developed, the study on user interface has been conducted a lot, and for more specific direction, users' experience-oriented user interface from user-oriented studies is recently developed. Such a tendency aiming to focus on product development to express users' emotion, the next step in the user-oriented development had difficulties in an objective approach, so the data based on previous users' experiences were presented as the basic data to establish user interface design process with grounds and design direction, and therefore it is available to show more specific and objective grounds. From this perspective, such psychological variables showing users' experiences like age and job are studied through surveys of users at the development of products, and products according to the variables are released. On the other hand, the products considering psychological difference distinguishing users' experiences as the cultural cap are not progressed yet. Despite the understanding of cultural difference, its decisive grounds are hard to distinguish like age, and job. Therefore, the cognitive concept about how to design menu information structure according to accident types that can be considered regarding user interface design among theoretical backgrounds about cultural difference. As the category according to the range of things among accident types, it is divided into analytical type and relational type to conduct a test on similarity and relations about the representative digital TV's menu information of the convergency product. As the result, analytical type and relational type showed difference and this study aims to use menu information concept considering this difference as explanatory variables of the users' experience-oriented development.

  • 국부세굴은 수공구조물 주변에서의 국부적인 흐름변화가 그 원인이라 할 수 있으며 이러한 변화는 교각 또는 교대의 하상재료를 굴착하여 이동시키는 침식작용의 결과이다. 이러한 교량의 교각 또는 교대, 그리고 교각을 지지하는 구조물에서 발생하는 국부세굴은 교량의 수명과 안정성에 좋지 않은 영향을 미쳐 재산상의 피해를 줄뿐만 아니라 교량 붕괴 사태 등으로 인한 대형 인명사고를 초래하는 원인이 될 수도 있다. 따라서 국부세굴의 경향을 예측하고 분석하는 것은 교량 구조물이나 수중 구조물의 설계에 있어서 매우 중요한 과업이다. 이러한 국부세굴을 예측하고 분석하는데 있어서 국내에서는 일정한 흐름조건에 대한 최종세굴심을 예측하는데 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 하지만 국부세굴은 하상재료에 따라 세굴이 진행되는 속도가 다르며 세굴의 진행은 시간 의존적인데 반해 국내에서의 국부세굴의 예측과 분석은 최종세굴심 산정에 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 보다 실질적이고 경제적인 국부세굴 경향을 예측할 수 있도록 다양한 하상재료에 대한 시간에 따른 세굴 변화의 특성을 파악하고 분석하였다. 이를 위해 하상재료에 따라 수리실험을 실시하였고, 이를 통해 하상재료에 따른 세굴심의 시간적 변화 곡선을 구하였다. 이렇게 구한 하상재료에 따른 세굴심의 시간적 변화 곡선을 통해 하상재료별 평형세굴심 산정하였고, 산정한 평형세굴심과 기존 세굴심 산정공식을 이용하여 입자별 세굴심을 산정하여 비교 분석하였다.

A psychological study of determinant factors on drunk-driving judgements (음주운전 결정요인에 관한 심리학적 연구)

  • 본 연구는 운전자가 음주 후 운전여부를 결정할 때 가장 중요하게 고려하는 음주운전결정요인에 대해 탐색하고, 이들 요인들에 대해 음주운전자와 비 음주운전자 간 차이를 보이는지를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 집단심층면접과 기존 문헌 고찰을 통해 얻은 음주운전에 영향을 미치는 인지적·사회심리적 요인들을 종합하여 설문지를 작성하였다. 전체 조사대상자는 음주운전 경험이 있는 운전자 136(남자 122명, 여자 13명)명이었다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 우선 운전자들은 음주 후 운전여부를 결정할 때 1) 음주정도, 2) 음주 후 경과시간 정도, 그리고 3) 다음날 이동시의 불편함, 4) 집과의 거리 정도를 가장 중요하게 고려하는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 음주 후 운전여부를 결정할 때 중요하게 고려하는 요인들에 대해 음주운전자와 비 음주운전자 간 차이를 검증해 본 결과, 크게 세 가지 차원에서 차이를 보이고 있다. 첫째, '잘못된 신념'에 해당하는 요인들로 음주운전자들이 비 음주운전자들에 비해 음주단속에 걸리지 않을 것이라는 신념을 가지고 있으며, 음주단속과 교통사고 발생가능성을 낮게 평가하고, 자신의 운전실력을 과신하는 경향이 있다. 둘째, '목전단기이익 추구 경향성'에 해당하는 요인들로 음주운전자들이 비 음주운전자들보다 음주 후 차를 두고 갈 경우 야기되는 비용부담, 다음날 이동시의 불편함 그리고 집과의 거리 정도에 더욱 민감한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 음주운전자들이 비 음주운전자들보다 마신 술의 양(음주량)에 대해 더욱 과소평가하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 연구결과들을 바탕으로 향후 음주운전에 대한 개선 방안을 함께 제시하고자 한다.

Importance Analysis of Radiological Exposure by Ground Deposition in Potential Accident Consequences for the Licensing Approval of a Nuclear Power Plant (원전 인허가승인을 위한 사고결말평가에서 지표침적에 의한 피폭의 민감도 분석)

  • In potential accident consequence assessments for the licensing approval of LWRs, the ground deposition of radionuclides released into the environment is not allowed into the models, as recommended in the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's regulatory guide. Meanwhile, it is allowed into the assessment models for the licensing approval of PHWRs with consideration of more detailed physical processes of radionuclides in the atmosphere. Under these backgrounds, importance of exposure dose by ground deposition was quantitatively evaluated and comprehensively discussed. For potential accidental releases of $^{137}Cs$ and $^{131}I$, total exposure doses were more conservative in case of without consideration of ground deposition than in case of with its consideration. It was because of that the depletion of air concentration resulting from ground deposition is more influential in the contribution to total exposure doses than additional doses from contaminated ground. The exposure doses by the inhalation of contaminated air showed the contribution of more than 90% in total exposure doses, depending on atmospheric stability, release period of radionuclides and distance from a release point. The exposure doses from contaminated ground showed less than 10% at most in contribution of total exposure doses. The ratios of total exposure doses in case of with consideration of deposition to without its consideration for $^{131}I$ were distinct than those for $^{137}Cs$. As the atmosphere is more stable, release duration of radionuclides is longer, distance from a release point is longer, it was more distinct.

To promote the information reliability created during construction production process, Lean Construction Research Center(LRC2) is developing a supporting system to improve processes of design/supply/construction phase, functioning to efficiently manage the information created at each phase and developing a web based construction information system that provides result management/decision making support/knowledge based information services.

자율운항선박의 충돌회피모델에 적용되는 COLREGs 항법 해석의 모호성 식별에 관한 연구

  • 국제해상충돌예방규칙(COLREGs)에 관한 협약은 해상에서 발생하는 충돌사고를 방지하기 위한 규칙으로 구성되어 있으며, Seaman(선원)의 Qualitative Rule(질적 규칙)과 Ordinary practice(통상적인 관행)에 기초하고 있다. MASS의 출현으로 인하여 질적 규칙과 관행으로 인하여 COLREG를 기반으로 한 항법 해석의 기준의 다름이 발생하였고, 기준의 차이로 인해 충돌 상황에 대한 항법 해석의 모호성문제가 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 COLREG의 항법 해석의 모호성을 규명하여 유인과 무인 사이의 충돌회피 상황을 명확히 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. COLREG를 기반으로 한 충돌 상황의 모호성을 식별하기 위해 실제 항해사를 대상으로 충돌 회피 상황에 대한 인식을 조사하고, 정면 및 횡단, 횡단 및 추월 상황을 기반으로 조사 결과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 응답자들은 008°에서 마주치는 선박에 대해서 정면 또는 횡단 상황 항법 규칙을 적용해야 하는지, 160°에서 다가오는 선박에 대해서 추월 또는 횡단 상황을 적용해야 하는지에 대해 확신하지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 이러한 모호성의 증가와 함께 충돌회피상황의 수동적 행동보다 능동적인 행동을 취함으로써 선원에 의한 충돌위험을 회피하려는 경향이 더 강해짐을 나타낸다.
