This study was to investigate the elasticity in tourism demand of Chinese tourists visiting Malaysia through ARDL models by using Chinese tourists arrivals, GDP, CPI, transportation costs and others. When China was implementing an open-door policy with foreign countries in the early 15th century, the movement of Chinese was very limited, and then communication between China and other countries was very weak. However, the Chinese government persistently and entirely implemented an open-door policy by participating in the World Trade Organization(WTO) in 2001. The Chinese government has opened the economy through foreign direct investment by providing various incentives for foreign investment. As a result, inbound and outbound Chinese movements increased in the early 21st century. China was one of the top five most visited tourist destinations in the world by 2016, and also Chinese tourists traveling abroad increased, so they made Malaysia a popular tourists destination because of increase sharply to around 1.41 million. This study examined the significance of major economic factors affecting the increase in Chinese tourists arriving in Malaysia. Other factors that induced their arrival included income, tourism prices, transportation costs and promotional activities. Short-run shocks from the Asian economic crisis and the outbreak of SARS were included to understand how tourism demand in Malaysia was affected. Finally this study found that the combination of the ARDL and the Error Correction Model were useful to statistically estimate the elasticities of tourism demand.
The purpose of this study is to examine the degree of community integration of visually impaired people who have the limitation of mobility in comparison with another disabled and to find factors affecting community integration. The data were obtained through telephone interview with visually impaired people. The final sample was consisted of 1,004 respondents. The data were analyzed using statistical techniques such as crosstabulation, t-test, and hierarchical regression. In this study, the factors affecting community integration was divided into four dimensions : the attribution to disability, physical functioning, psychology and social support system. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the factors affecting community integration of visually impaired people were age, education, economic status, social support, information support and participation of rehabilitation service. Second, the factors affecting community integration of the low vision and the blind are the limitation of daily activities and social support. But the factors affecting community integration of the blind are participation of education for braille and that of the low vision are information support and participation of rehabilitation service. Finally, the person losing eyesight since school age were the more limitation of daily activities than the person losing eyesight in babyhood. The factors affect community integration of the former are social support, information support, participation of education for braille, and rehabilitation service. The current findings suggest that intervention and policy aimed at improving social support system and formal services such as education, rehabilitation services should be considered by rehabilitation professionals and policy makers.
This thesis assumes that the teaching objective of the Probability unit of the 8th grade textbook under the 7th National Curriculum is to enhance the ability to analyze and utilize informations. And we examine them if this point of view is fully reflected. Based on the analysis of the textbook analysis, followings are found. 1) It is necessary to emphasize more enumerating all possible cases and to induce formulae counting the number of possible cases through organizing them 2) The probability is to be decribed more clearly as a likelihood of events and to be introduced and followed through various students' experiences and the relative frequencies. Less emphasis on probability computations, while more emphasis on probability comparisons of events are recommended. 3) The term "influential events"(a kind of stochastic correlation) is ambiguous. It is necessary to make clear what it means at tile level of the 8th grade or to discard it for it is to be learned at the 10th grade again. Especially, contingency table has been introduced at the 9th grade under the 7th National Curriculum. 4) Uses of the likelihood principle in making a decision and in learning the reliability of it should be encouraged. And students are to team the hazard of transitive inferences in probability comparisons. As a consequence of above, we feel that textbook authors and related stakeholder are to be more serious about the behavioral changes of students that may come along with the didactics of specific contents of school mathematics.

The purpose of this study is to estimate soil loss amount according to the rainfall-runoff erosivity factor frequency and to analyze the hazard zone that has high possibilities of soil erosion in the watershed. RUSLE was used to analyze soil loss quantity. The study area is Gwanchon that is part of Seomjin river basin. To obtain the frequency rainfall-runoff erosivity factor, the daily maximum rainfall data for 39 years was used. The probability rainfall was calculated by using the Normal distribution, Log-normal distribution, Pearson type III distribution, Log-Pearson type III distribution and Extreme-I distribution. Log-Pearson type III was considered to be the most accurate of all, and used to estimate 24 hours probabilistic rainfall, and the rainfall-runoff erosivity factor by frequency was estimated by adapting the Huff distribution ratio. As a result of estimating soil erosion quantity, the average soil quantity shows 12.8 and $68.0ton/ha{\cdot}yr$, respectively from 2 years to 200 years frequency. The distribution of soil loss quantity within a watershed was classified into 4 classes, and the hazard zone that has high possibilities of soil erosion was analyzed on the basis of these 4 classes. The hazard zone represents class IV. The land use area of class IV shows $0.01-5.28km^2$, it ranges 0.02-9.06% of total farming area. Especially, in the case of a frequency of 200 years, the field area occupies 77.1% of total fanning area. Accordingly, it is considered that soil loss can be influenced by land cover and cultivation practices.
In 1953, theoretical physicist George Gamow attempted to explain the process of protein synthesis by hypothesizing that the base sequence of DNA encodes a protein's amino acid sequence and, in response, proposed the nucleic acid-protein information transfer model, which he dubbed the "diamond code." After expressing interest in discussing the daring hypothesis, contemporary biologists, including James Watson, Francis Crick, Sydney Brenner, and Gunther Stent, were soon invited to join the RNA Tie Club, an informal research group that would also count biologists and various researchers in physics, mathematics, and computer engineering among its members. In examining the club's formation, growth, and decline in multidisciplinary research on deciphering the genetic code in the 1950s, this paper first investigates whether Gamow's idiosyncratic approach could be adopted as a collaborative research forum among contemporary biologists. Second, it explores how the RNA Tie Club's research agenda could have been expanded to other relevant research topics needing multidisciplinary approach? Third, it asks why and how the RNA Tie Club dissolved in the late 1950s. In answering those questions, this paper shows that analyses on the intersymbol correlation of the overlapping code functioned to integrate diverse approaches, including sequence decoding and statistical analysis, in research on the genetic code. As those analyses reveal, the peculiar approaches of the RNA Tie Club could be regarded as a useful method for biological research. The paper also concludes that the RNA Tie Club dissolved in the late 1950s due to the disappearance of the collaborative research agenda when the overlapping code hypothesis was abandoned.
This study aims at investigating the effectiveness of SME's R&D system empirically. Specifically, this study analyze the relationships among R&D inputs(R&D investment, R&D human resource management), process(R&D planning, external network, internal cooperation), and output(technological innovation). A questionnaire was developed to measure the above variables. To test these relations, data were collected from the small and medium-sized IT firms located in Daegu-Kyungbuk region. The survey data of 154 firms were integrated as the empirical base for testing the relations. Most respondents were from the managers. Structural equation modeling analyses were used to examine the relations. Major results are as follows: Firstly, R&D HRM was positively and significantly influenced on the R&D planning. Secondly, R&D planning was positively and significantly affected on the external network, internal cooperation, and technological innovation. Thirdly, the both relations between R&D investment and R&D planning, and external network and technological innovation were not significant statistically. These results suggest the following implications. First, R&D human resource management is very important for IT SMEs. Secondly, internal cooperation mediates R&D inputs and technological innovation by approaching the other department's unique resources and by sharing the cost of new resource development. Several future researches need to overcome the limitations of this research. First, this study's sample was based on the small and medium-sized IT firms just located in Daegu-Kyungbuk region. This limitation may imply that empirical results can not represent overall small and medium-sized firm's situations. Therefore, future research needs to include different samples. Secondly, this study depends on the latitudinal study.

In this paper, we present a robust beamforming design to tackle the weighted sum-rate maximization (WSRM) problem in a multicell multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) - non-orthogonal multipleaccess (NOMA) downlink system for 5G wireless communications. This work consider the imperfectchannel state information (CSI) at the base station (BS) by adding uncertainties to channel estimation matrices as the worst-case model i.e., singular value uncertainty model (SVUM). With this observation, the WSRM problem is formulated subject to the transmit power constraints at the BS. The objective problem is known as on-deterministic polynomial (NP) problem which is difficult to solve. We propose an robust beam forming design which establishes on majorization minimization (MM) technique to find the optimal transmit beam forming matrix, as well as efficiently solve the objective problem. In addition, we also propose a joint user clustering and power allocation (JUCPA) algorithm in which the best user pair is selected as a cluster to attain a higher sum-rate. Extensive numerical results are provided to show that the proposed robust beamforming design together with the proposed JUCPA algorithm significantly increases the performance in term of sum-rate as compared with the existing NOMA schemes and the conventional orthogonal multiple access (OMA) scheme.
Recently, many companies have started to manage and support CoPs formally at the organizational level because of strategic usability of CoP. These companies are also seeking ways to motivate CoP members to actively participate in their groups. Accordingly, this paper proposes one way of increasing CoP activities by rearranging CoP members. In practice, active CoP members often lead their groups. Therefore, rearranging members can, eventually, be one method to motivate more individuals to participate in CoP activities. This paper first suggests a new approach in order to improve knowledge sharing activities at the organizational level based on rearranging members of current CoPs. Second, a mathematical model is presented which maximizes total BLS (Balanced Level Score) of company A with several constraints. Then a real world problem is changed to a popular problem, VRP to solve this problem. Third, the solution program was developed to find a meaningful solution.
The purposes of this study are, 1) to explore the factors related to the family caregivers' preferences for service utilization both of the community-based welfare and health-care services, and 2) to examine the reasons why not want to use services analyzing a survey data obtained from family caregivers(n=1,000). Anderson and Newman's Behavior model was employed to examine the factors related to the preferences for service utilization. The main results are as follows. 1) Logistic regression analyses demonstrated that predisposing factor(such as age and relations with frail elderly) and enabling factor(such as economic status, secondary caregiver, informal informational support provider, etc) were significant predictor for caregivers' preference for service utilization. Contrary to an expectation, needs factor was negatively related to the preference for service. More specifically, the more they have service needs, the less they show their willingness to use community-based service both in welfare and health-care services except for care education program. 2) Caregiver identified 'family caregiving consciousness'(family should take care of frail elderly, elderly dislike be taken care of) as an important reason not want to use community services next to financial factor. These findings have several implications for policy making especially for 'public long-term care insurance' which was planned to start in 2007.
The tonal music organizes the tones based on the hierarchy of the relative importance of musical tones. So listeners who are familiar with a certain musical style internalize the tonal schema of that music in mind, though they have no formal training about these organizing principles. This research examined how the western music experts who are not familiar with classical Korean music interpret classical Korean music. In the other researches about musical styles outside the western music, the superficial informations such as the distribution and the duration of tones in the experimental stimulus might be used as cues to extract the tonal schema of that music. In this study, these superficial informations were controlled in order to reduce this possibility. The results showed that the western music experts might interpret classical Korean music with the tonal schema of western music. but, thought the western music experts perceived classical Korean music on the base of the western musical framework and so their interpretation was not match with the tonal schema of classical Korean music. their interpretation was more similar to classical Korean tonal schema than the non-musicians interpretation of classical Korean music. These results suggested that the extensive experiences in a specific musical style can facilitate the listeners proper apprehension of the other musical styles.
