Fast computation method for the voltage-current analysis on the rectangular power-ground plane (직사각형의 전력-접지층에 대한 전압전류 특성해석을 위한 빠른 계산방법)

  • The existing analytical expression for the voltage between the power and ground plane consist of metal-dielectric-metal board is expressed in the two dimensional infinite series. To reduce the computation time, the two dimensional infinite series is converted to the one dimensional infinite series using the summation formula of Fourier series. We applied these equations to the analysis of voltage between the $9‘{\times}4'$ size power-ground plane. The derived one dimensional infinite series shows the more rapid convergency and the more accurate result than the two dimensional infinite series. This equation can be applied to the power-ground plane analysis which needs a lot of the repeating computation.

  • In this paper, we propose a methodology in which a power-delay product of a binary adder is optimized based on the heterogeneous adder architecture. We formulate the power-delay product of the heterogeneous adder by using integer linear programming(ILP). For the use of ILP optimization, we adopt a transformation technique in which the initial non-linear expression for the power-delay product is converted into linear expression. The experimental result shows the superiority of the suggested method compared to the cases in which only conventional adder is used.

  • Recently, the comparative gap of technology and product has been decreased in the global market, and the globalization has been extended rapidly. Industries try to get de facto standard as the global standard. De facto standard has become a standard not because it has been approved by a standards organization but because it is widely used and recognized by the industry as being standard. Advanced countries already have their own organizations under the government, and they cooperate tightly with companies. As a result, we also try to have the organization and build the good relationship between companies and the government to get de facto standard in the global market.

Are Coffee Breaks Good for Performance?: A Perspective on Non-Work-Related Activities (커피 브레이크는 성과에 도움이 되는가?: 업무 외적인 활동 관점)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate non-work relating activities at work. To do this, this paper proposes and analyzes a simple theoretical model consisting of factors such as non-work relating smartphone usage during working hours, non-work relating coffee break during working hours, work after working hours, and job performance. Our findings are revealed as following: First, non-work-related coffee break has positive effect on performance. Second, non-work-related smartphone usage generally has negative effect on performance, but it has positive effect on performance in personal communication with co-workers. Third, work after working hours has negative effect on performance.

  • In this paper, the Walsh coded orthogonal training signals for 4 × 4 multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems are designed and the channel estimation equations are derived as a closed form, taking account of the inter training signal interference problems caused by the multi-path delayed signals. The performances of the proposed channel estimation method are analyzed and compared with the conventional methods[9,14] by using computer simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed methods has better performances, compared with the conventional methods[9,14]. As a result, the proposed method can be used for MIMO-OFDM systems with null sub-carriers.

  • In this paper we present a probabilistic method for source separation in the case here each source has a certain temporal structure. We tackle the problem of source separation by maximum pseudo-likelihood estimation, representing the latent function which characterizes the temporal structure of each source by a random process with a Gaussian prior. The resulting pseudo-likelihood of the data is Gaussian, determined by a mixing matrix as well as by the predictive mean and covariance matrix that can easily be computed by Gaussian process (GP) regression. Gradient-based optimization is applied to estimate the demixing matrix through maximizing the log-pseudo-likelihood of the data. umerical experiments confirm the useful behavior of our method, compared to existing source separation methods.

Development of a Clustering Model for Automatic Knowledge Classification (지식 분류의 자동화를 위한 클러스터링 모형 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a document clustering model for automatic classification of knowledge. Two test collections of newspaper article texts and journal article abstracts are built for the clustering experiment. Various feature reduction criteria as well as term weighting methods are applied to the term sets of the test collections, and cosine and Jaccard coefficients are used as similarity measures. The performances of complete linkage and K-means clustering algorithms are compared using different feature selection methods and various term weights. It was found that complete linkage clustering outperforms K-means algorithm and feature reduction up to almost 10% of the total feature sets does not lower the performance of document clustering to any significant extent.

  • The distance join is a spatial join which finds data pairs in the order of distance when associating two spatial data sets. This paper proposes several methods to optimize the adaptive multi-stage distance join, presented in [1]. First, we optimize the sweeping index formula which is used for selecting sweeping axis during plane sweeping. Second, to improve the performance of a priority queue used for maintaining node pairs, we propose to use the maximum distance of a node pair as the second priority of the queue. Moreover, we compare trade-offs in estimating the cut-off distance between under uniformity assumption of data distribution and non-uniformity assumption. The experiments show that the proposed methods greatly improve the performance of the algorithm in CPU cost as well as in I/O cost.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate temporal soil loss change according to long-term land cover changes using G1S and RS. Revised USLE(Universal Soil Loss Equation) factors were prepared by using point rainfall data, DEM(Digital Elevation Model), soil map and land cover map. During the past two decades, land cover changes were traced by using Landsat MSS and TM data. As a result, forest area in 2000 has decreased 25.3 $km^2$ compared with that in 1990. Soil loss has decreased 3751.2 tou/yr. On the other hand, upland area has increased 22.5 $km^2$. Soil loss of upland has increased 5395.4 to/yr. Therefore, soil loss in 2000 increased 6.3 kg/$m^2$/yr compared with that in 1990. This was mainly caused by the increased upland area.

  • 4차 산업혁명의 도래로 사회기반시설물의 계획 및 운영관리에 있어 데이터 분석을 통한 가치추출에 대한 관심은 매우 높은 상황이다. 데이터의 가용성과 접근성, 정부 지원 등을 평가하는 공공데이터 개방지수에서 한국은 1점 만점에 0.93점을 획득하여 경제협력개발기구 회원국 중 1위(2019년 기준)를 할 정도로 매우 높은 수준(평균 0.60점)이다. 그러나 공식적으로 발표 및 배포되는 사회기반시설물 관련 정보와 심도 있는 연구 분석이 필요한 정보는 접근이 여전히 제한적이라 할 수 있다. 특히 대표적인 사회기반시설물인 상수도시스템은 대부분 국가중요시설로 지정되어 있어 다양한 정보를 획득하고 분석하는데 제약이 존재하며, 관련 국가통계인 상수도통계에서는 누수사고 등과 같은 비정상적 상황에 대한 사고지점, 원인 등과 같은 세부정보는 제공하고 있지 않다. 본 연구에서는 웹크롤링 및 빅데이터 분석기술을 활용하여 과거 일정기간 발생한 지자체의 상수도 누수사고 관련 뉴스를 전수조사하고 도출된 사고건수를 국가 공인 정보인 상수도통계자료와 비교·분석하였다. 독립적인 누수사고 기사를 추출하기 위해서 중복기사의 제거, 누수 관련 키워드 정립, 상수도분야 이외의 관련기사 제거 등의 절차가 필요하며, 이와 같은 기법은 R프로그래밍을 통해 구현되었다. 추가적으로 뉴스기사의 자연어 처리기반 정보추출기법을 통해 누수사고 건수 뿐만 아니라 사고발생일, 위치, 원인, 피해정도, 그리고 대상 관로의 크기 등을 획득하여 상수도 통계에서 제시하고 있는 정보보다 많은 가치를 추출하여 연계할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법론을 국내 A광역시에 적용하여 누수사고 건수를 비교한 결과 상수도통계에서 제시하고 있는 누수발생건수와 유사한 규모의 사고건수를 뉴스기사분석을 통해 도출할 수 있었다. 제안된 방법론은 추가적인 정보의 추출이 가능하다는 점에서 향후 활용성이 높을 것으로 기대된다.
