Microvibration Control of High Technology Facilities Subjected to Train-induced Excitation using Smart Base Isolation (열차진동하중을 받는 첨단시설물의 스마트 면진시스템을 이용한 미진동제어)

  • Microvibration problem of high-technology facilities, such as semi-conductor plants and TFT-LCD plants, has been considered as important factors that affects the performance of products and thus it is regarded as important in facilities with high precision equipments. In this paper, various base isolation control systems are used to investigate their microvibration control performance. To this end, train-induced ground acceleration is used for time history analysis and three-story example building structure is employed. Microvibration control performance of passive and smart base isolation systems have been investigated in this study. Based on numerical simulation results, it has been verified that smart base isolation system can control microvibration of a high-technology facility subjected to train-induced excitation.

A study on the radiation effect of silicon solar cells in a low Earth orbit satellite by using high energy electron beams (고에너지 전자빔을 이용하여 저궤도 인공위성의 실리콘 태양센서의 내방사선 특성 연구)

  • This paper analyzes on the radiation effect of silicon solar cells in a low Earth orbit satellite by using high energy electron beams. Generally, the satellite circling round in a low orbit go through Van Allen belt, in which electronic components are easily damaged and shortened by charged particles moving in a cycle between the South Pole and the North Pole. For example, Single Event Upset (SEU) by radiation could cause electronic devices on satellite to malfunction. From the ground experiment in which we used the high energy electron beam facility at Knrea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), we tried to explain sun sensor degradations on orbit could he caused by high energy electrons. While we focused on the solar cells used for light detectors, We convince our research also contributes to understand the radiation effect of solar cells generating electric powers on satellites.

  • The core of IT products, electronic components, especially the MLCC, chip inductors, chip Varistors and so on. In order to test the electrical characteristics of the chip using the Reno-pin contact test method has been used. In current chips, mass production of semiconductor manufacturing processes, high-speed production test for the chip speed up, precision is required. But Vibration displacement is a very short, so in order to overcome these shortcomings, the displacement amplification to design the structure has been actively studied. In this paper, a building structure with a flexible hinge was designed amplification instrument, semiconductor chip industry in the performance test and inspection equipment to measure the electrical characteristics of high speed linear actuators Reno-Pin using system was developed.

Synthesis of SiC from the Wire Cutting Slurry of Silicon Wafer and Graphite Rod of Spent Zinc-Carbon Battery (폐 반도체 슬러리 및 폐 망간전지 흑연봉으로부터 탄화규소 합성)

  • The synthesis of SiC used for the parts of the gas turbine and the heat exchanger, was carried out. In this study, wire cutting slurry of silicon wafer and the graphite rod of spent zinc-carbon battery were applied to the starting materials for the synthesis. The powders of Si or Si+SiC were obtained from the waste material by filtration, gravity separation and magnetic separation. Graphite powder was produced by dismantling, grinding and gravity separation from spent zinc-carbon battery. The synthesis of SiC could be completed from the mixture powders of Si and C or Si+SiC and C at the condition of equivalent ratio of Si and C, atmosphere of Ar or vacuum, temperature of above 1$600^{\circ}C$ and 2 hours reactions. The purity of synthesized Si-C was above 99%.

  • The micro capacitors are passive elements necessary to electronic circuits and wireless portable PAN(personal area network) and Mobile Communications device modules in the baseband circuits in combination with another passive and active devices. As capacitance is proportionally increased with dielectric constant and electrode areas, in addition, inversely decreased the thickness of the dielectric material, thus thin film capacitors are generally seen as a preferable means to achieve high performance and thin film capacitors are used in a variety of functional circuit devices. In this paper, propose dielectric material as AIN(Aluminium nitride) to make micro thin film capacitor, and this capacitor has the MIM(metal-insulator-metal) structure. AIN thin films are widespread applied because they had more excellent properties such as chemical stability, high thermal conductivity, electrical isolation and so on. In addition, AIN films show low frequency response for baseband signal ranges, I-V and C-V electrical characterization of a thin film micro capacitor. The above experimental test and estimated results demonstrate that the thin film capacitor has sufficient and efficient functional performance to be the baseband range frequency of general electronics circuit and passive device applications.

  • The multiplier circuit is necessary to estimate degradation status of electronic cards in nuclear power plant, but its accuracy is not easy in processing those functions to multiply two input signals. What is important in multiplier circuit is that the multiplication result must be accurate and its linearity must be perfect. We developed and proposed excellent linearity multiplier circuit using operational amplifiers and transistor characteristics, and then proved its validity in this paper. We have made efforts to eliminate nonlinearity components of semiconductors with this circuit in order to ensure excellent linearity of developed multiplier circuit. We conducted multiplication operations through simulation, applying adequate values to each component in order to verify the circuit composed of that method. We showed step-by-step output signals, and then compared the logical analyses and measuring results as simulation results. We confirmed that this method is superior to existing multiplication or linearity.

Separation of Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes by Agarose Gel (아가로스 겔을 이용한 단일벽 탄소나노튜브 분리)

  • The separation of metallic and semiconducting single-wall carbon nanobubes (SWCNTs) by agarose gel method was carried out in this study. The effect of concentration of agarose, SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate), and pH in the solution on separation behavior was investigated. With increasing the concentration of agarose in the solution, it showed that the ratio of metallic SWCNTs, which was analyzed from UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy, was increased in the solution phase, while the overall concentration of SWCNTs was decreased. With increasing the concentration of SDS, we could observe that the ratio of metallic SWCNTs was increased due to more affinity between SDS molecules and metallic SWCNT. The highest metallic SWCNTs ratio was reached up to 58.4% when the pH of solution was 8.2.

  • In this paper, we have developed the multiple channel measurement system for IC Socket Test. The one can test the current-voltage measurements for pitting the several device specification, which analyze the thin current from several ㎂ to 5A with very low resistor mΩ. The increasement of the IC socket channel with lead pitch under 0.25 mm be need to perform several functions, concurrently. The system to perform these functions be designed to integrate several SMU(source measure unit) on board. So, we can reduce the 2 minutes test time per channel point to 40 sec, with daisy chain test method. Using by graphic interface, I-V curve mode and data logging technologies, we can implement the test flow methods and can make economies the time and cost.

A Study on the Industrial Economic-Importance Index of Minerals in Korea (한국의 광물자원 산업적 경제중요도 지수 산정 연구)

  • As supply chain management becomes a key factor in the sustainable growth of the industry, securing minerals at the national or corporate level is becoming important. Depending on the industrial structure, the economic status of each minerals is different and the supply risk is different In this study, to examine the economic status of minerals, an index that can quantify the Industrial Economic Importance by minerals was developed and calculated by reflecting the demand structure and cost weight of each industry. As a result, Li, Al, Cu, Si, Co, Ni, etc. were evaluated as having high industrial importance in Korea. In addition, by industry, Al, Cu, Zn, and Pb for primary metal manufacturing, general machinery, assembly metals,Sn, Ba, Ti, Si and Ga for precision equipment, Si and Ga for semiconductors, and Li, Ni, Co, Si, etc. for electronic components had high industrial importance. Such as Europe and the United States, in order to select Critical-minerals, Korea will need to analyze the economic impact on the domestic industry as well as the risks of supply chain by minerals.
