In making gardens, garden designers establish a principle using specific colors, collect materials, and combine them with their own aesthetic senses. This study is design mothed through the species and characteristics of flowering plants used in the Barrington court created by Gertrude Jekyll and Sissinghurst's white garden created by Vita Sackville-West, both of which are the most renowned gardens that used the white color. The analysis of each individual plant used in the gardens will be based on the season, colors, shapes, plant heights and aromaticity. Through their gardens, how the flowering plants aesthetically united with each other in creating the white gardens will be reviewed. To represent the freshness of spring, Jekyll planted Campanula spp. and Lilium spp. in the garden. Vita Sackvill-West aims at the moonlight in a summer night and features Delphinium spp., Rosa mulliganii, and R. longicuspis. The color of the flowers is in white, varying from pure white, ivory and silver. To prevent monotony due to monocolor flowers, the forms of the flowers are intense. To make white flowers look better, the colors of leaves include light green, light gray and bright and greenish yellow. Overall, cool colors are used to give a mystique, coolness, cleanness and to produce an fascinating and plaintive atmosphere, getting joined with white flowers and reflected light in the night. The White Garden has made significance in the history of landscape architecture: it was the starting point of garden design through theme colors, based on the idea and technology of planting design methods that discover the potential of colors and withdraw limits. And it also made a significant contribution to the advancement of garden art with combinations by aesthetic principles.

This study deals with the visual quality in the future urban landscape and architectural environment, and as such, aims to identify a scientific and objective aesthetic and visual quality from the perspective of empirical aesthetics. The empirical aesthetics provides a framework that can be utilized in understanding human perception, consciousness, and behavior and a way to categorize the visual quality and to explain and predict its effect. The study examines various theories on environmental perception, cognition, and some new approaches to environmental aesthetics, and tries to present aesthetic properties that can be applied to environmental design. First, the aesthetic experience in visual perception can be defined as a combined effect of psychobiological properties and human activity, i.e. an interaction between the formal and symbolic signs in environment and the conceptual framework of man. The effect of visual quality differs and varies a great deal, depending on the sociocultural, personal and collective value system, so it is hard to define it in absolute terms. Second, the impact of visual quality and its aesthetic effect has to do with pleasure, preference, the aptitude for survival, and self regulation. Third, aesthetics is one of the areas that can benefit a great deal from an interdisciplinary approach. and an empirical study such as this can be used as a basis for design, planning, and evaluation.

The purpose of this study is to define the special characteristics of the neoclassic style in eighteenth to nineteenth century fashion. Researching into philosophy and aesthetics in eighteenth to nineteenth century, the characteristics of the neoclassic style in fashion is considered the clarity of form, the utility of function, and the sensuality combined with body. The results of this study are as follows: The clarify of form is found in geometric form based on anatomical truth of the human body in relation with rational and scientific thoughts. The utility of function is found in simple and suitable construction considering purely practical purpose of dresses. The sensuality combined with body is found in natural silhouette dress alluding naked body in connection with Rousseau' naturalism. Understanding aesthetic value of the neoclassic style will help to develop fashion designs associated with neoclassical forms.

본 연구에서는 시판 중인 디바이스를 활용하여 외관에서는 기성복의 스타일을 유지하면서 기능성을 부여한 노년 여성을 위한 스마트 재킷을 개발하였다. 노년기에 접어들면서 시력은 약화되며 효과적인 체온조절도 저하된다. 이에 열과 빛의 기능을 제공하는 연구재킷을 제작하고 노년층 소비자들의 평가를 실시하여 그 수용가능성을 확인하고자 하였다. 재킷에 대한 만족도 평가는 전문가 외관 평가 및 소비자 착용 평가로 실시되었으며 재킷의 피트성, 활동성, 디바이스의 기능성, 수용 가능성 여부 등을 평가하였다. 그 결과, 전반적으로 높은 만족도를 보였으며 노년층에서도 충분히 미적요소와 기능성이 결합된 스마트 의류가 일상복으로 받아들여질 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 여전히 스마트 의류의 문제점 중의 하나인 디바이스의 무게를 경량화 할 수 있는 방법이 모색되어야 할 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 결과가 노년층을 위한 스마트 의복의 가능성과 만족도 향상을 위한 방안을 제시하는 기초 자료가 되기를 바란다.

건물 일체형 태양광 발전시장의 증가에 따라 미적(Aesthetic) 요소가 결합된 태양광 모듈에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. 이런 시장의 요구에 따라 다양한 색상을 가지고 있는 컬러 태양광 모듈에 대한 연구 및 개발이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 여러 제안된 컬러 태양광 모듈 기술 중 결정질 실리콘(crystalline-silicon) 기반 태양광 모듈에 컬러 유리 혹은 컬러 층을 도입하는 기술은 기존 실리콘 모듈의 장점인 신뢰도와 가격 측면에서 다른 방식 대비 큰 장점이 있다. 결정질 실리콘 모듈에 컬러를 구현하기 위해서는 현재 크게 세가지 방식이 제안되고 있다. 가장 먼저 제안된 방식은 태양전지 전면에 반사 방지막 형성 시 특정 파장만 반사할 수 있는 층이 도입된 컬러 태양전지(color photovoltaic cell)를 이용하여 색상을 구현하는 방식이다. 다른 한 방식은 일반 검정색 태양전지에 반사가 가능한 입자 혹은 박막층을 태양광 모듈 전면에 도입하는 반사형(Reflective) 컬러 태양광 모듈 기술이다. 마지막으로 특정 파장을 흡수하여 다른 파장으로 발광하는 염료 혹은 안료를 이용한 발광형(Luminescent)방식에 대한 연구도 진행 중이다. 본고에서는 각 방식의 동작 특성 및 기술 동향에 대해 논의하고자 한다.

Human beings were constantly developing and using tools. This implies the history of humans have been creatively maintained and developed. Gyubang crafts are regarded as extremely feminine and contained emotions of Korea while being classified as a genre of Korean culture & art. Gyubang crafts were created independent & unique formative beauty on the basis of then social, cultural, religious background, in which those sewing kits being called friends of ladies express the emotion of arts contains cultural depth of its appearance of life as well as its spiritual world of happiness, anger, sorrow and pleasure of ladies. And it was aimed to sought the possibilities to start itself in various ways under the assumption capable to be expressed detail & contemporary taste of the sewing kits that lived together with the ladies in their historic life through linking with ornaments arts with convergence and harmony of formative image. As stated, it could be an opportunity to rediscover the formative characteristics, harmony of convergence, elegance, delicacy, aesthetic beauty focused on sewing kits among Gyubang crafts filled with ladies' scant and spiritual hope and to be re-understood the excellence and the aesthetic beauty of traditional culture & arts through personal ornaments.

In this paper, a design and fabrication of GaN power amplifier for the S-band frequency (400 MHz bandwidth) are presented. A combining path using ${\lambda}$/4 transmission line is implemented for GaN pallet amp. Both the combiner with suspended-type transmission structure for low-loss and the suspended stripline coupler with aperture coupling for auto gain control are realized for achieving high-power high-efficiency amplifier. Proposed power amplifier demonstrated a 5 kW peak output power, 27.8 % efficiency, 67 dB gain without ALC and a 4 kW peak output power, 25.5 % efficiency, 0.1 dB droop at 200 usec pulse width and 10 % duty with ALC.

The purpose of this study is to examine the theoretical background of art make-up and surrealism in depth and shed new light on creative thoughts coming through application of Depaysement and various kinds of expression realized through art make-up, where art and make-up are incorporated. The study method is to conduct prior research followed by a theoretical study of the concept and techniques of Surrealistic Depaysement and theoretical background of art make-up through specialized books and internet sources and then to create 4 artworks representing characteristics of Depaysement technique categorized in dual image, fusion of heterogeneous objects, modification and conversion, and change of space. This examination resulted in first, a foundational ground for fusion and use of art and make-up sectors by creating a realm of expression based on creativity through incorporation of art and makeup and second, a sense of freshness and unfamiliar-ness by creation of an image in a completely unfamiliar space. Therefore, the researcher sets a direction for ways to come up with new ideas and expand the realm of expression and hopes that the art-makeup does not just become an aesthetic tool but turn itself as an art genre.

A Study on the Plasticity of the Gather Represented in Haute Couture The Gather is the plastic technique to represent a sense of voluminosity by pleating the plane of costume and manifests the emotional effects , such as both functional aspects and the construction of form, optical illusion effect, textural feelings from materials, tactile transformations, etc. So it is used as the tool to represent the plastistic beauty of costume. The plasticity of the ancient gather was the drape arising according to the curve of the body, but the type of gather recently found on the haute couture does not only retain the activity and functionalism on which the technical element and the ornamental aspect are mixed with other techiques.
