  • 인터넷 정보의 디지털화가 사회 각 분야에 빠르게 진행되고 있다. 인터넷 기술을 기반으로한 정보사회가 도래함에 따라 멀티미디어 정보를 생성 가공해 저장 분배하는 서비스가 광범위하게 생활화되고 있다. 방대한 데이터를 가공하고 저장하는데 있어 효율적이고 경제적으로 처리할 수 있는 혁신적인 정보서비스 솔루션이 필요한 시점이다. IP 기반 클러스터 스토리지는 방송, 통신, 컴퓨터, 가전 등을 포함한 다양한 미디어 및 디지털 데이터를 융합하는 디지털 컨버젼스 플랫폼 환경에서 양방향 디지털 이이템 거래를 최적화 시키는데 필요한 고성능/고가용성/고신뢰성을 갖는 스토리지 플랫폼이다. 본 논문은 IP 기반 클러스터 스토리지 관리를 위한 클러스터 스토리지 관리 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구이다. 클러스터 스토리지 관리 소프트웨어는 SNMP나 EWS와 달리 XML을 기반으로 효율적인 구성 관리 및 정보 표현 등 XML의 장점을 최대한으로 이용하여 설계하였으며 XML 및 XML-RPC를 통하여 분산된 스토리지 시스템의 효율적인 관리 방법 및 개발 방안에 대해 기술한다.

  • 최근 딥러닝 기반의 다양한 물체 검출 알고리즘이 제안되어 높은 성능을 보이고 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 딥러닝 기반 물체 검출의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 입력영상에서 추출된 특징 지도를 강화하는 비지역적 특징 융합과, 이를 이용한 물체 검출 기법을 제안한다. 제안 기법은 입력영상에서 CNN 을 통해 추출한 특징 지도를 비지역적 특징 강화 블록을 통해 강화한다. 해당 블록 내에서 입력된 특징 지도는 먼저 여러 리셉티브 필드를 갖는 특징 지도로 분기된다. 그리고 분기된 특징 지도들은 비지역적 특징 융합 모듈에 의해 융합되어 강화된다. 이러한 과정을 통해 강화된 특징 지도는 비지역적 문맥 정보가 강화된 특성을 가지며, 해당 특징 지도를 이용하여 최종적으로 물체 검출을 수행한다. Pascal VOC 공인 데이터세트를 통한 실험 결과, 제안 기법은 기존 비교 기법 대비 향상된 검출 성능을 보인다.

Factors Influencing Internet Media Credibility among College Students (대학생들의 인터넷 미디어 신뢰도에 영향을 미치는 요인 고찰 - 미디어 리터러시 역량을 중심으로)

  • This study explored the perception of internet media credibility and influencing factors among college students who are routine users of internet-based media. Media literacy competences are of primary interest among others in that users' media literacy such as information evaluation, critical understanding of media, and information sharing are assumed to be related to media credibility. The results of analysis revealed critical understanding ability to be statistically significant and consistently influencing factor. Users with more critical view on media ownership, represented reality, commercial intention of media seemed less likely to trust internet media. Whereas media use motive for information was found to be a strong predicting factor, motive for pleasure showed no relationship with credibility. Based on the findings, suggestions for new research and limitations of the study were discussed.

  • It is important to retrieve effectively the visual media such as pictures and video in the internet, especially to the application areas such as electronic art museum, e-commerce, and internet shopping malls. It is also needed in these areas to have content-based or even semantic-based multimedia retrieval instead of simple keyword-based retrieval. In our earlier research, we proposed a semantic-based visual media retrieval framework for the effective retrieval of the visual media from the internet. It uses visual media metadata and ontology based on the web service to achieve the semantic-based retrieval. In this research, there are more than one visual media service providers and one central service broker. As a preliminary step to the visual media data retrieval, a method is proposed to retrieve the service providers effectively. The method uses the structure of the ontology tree to obtain the providers and their rankings. It also uses the size of sub nodes and child nodes in the tree. It measures the rankings of providers more effectively than previous method. The experimental results show the accuracy of the method while keeping compatible speed against the existing method.

Moving Pictogram, a Suggestion for the Digital Native Generation (디지털 네이티브 세대를 위한 제안, 움직이는 픽토그램)

  • The development of technology has brought changes in content media. Starting from voice and sound media in the oral era, through text and painting, the realism has led to the development of visual media plus sound and image media. What we should consider here is not only the one-sided influence of change in the media due to the development of technology, but also the understanding, concentration, and commitment of information depending on which generation has access to the media Therefore, we focus on the digital native generation that uses digital as main media. The features of the digital native generation include the ability to process visual information quickly, multi-tasking, and divisionism. In this paper, we propose a moving pictogram for the digital native generation, and a moving pictogram for exit pictogram which shows limitation. The new dynamic pictograms that fit to the characteristics of the digital native generation, as well as interactive dynamic pictograms, are areas of thought and research on which this paper can be regarded as the first step.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship among the hypermedia structure(hierarchical and network), learner's cognitive style(field-independent and field-dependent), and learning performance in the elementary school. 128 students(4th graders) having field-independent and field-dependent cognitive style were randomly allocated into hierarchical and network structures of hypermedia learning program. There was not significant interaction between hypermedia structure and cognitive style in learning performance. The students in the hierarchical hypermedia structure showed higher learning performance than ones in the network hypermedia structure. Field-independent students significantly got higher results than field-dependent ones. It is concluded that instructional designers should consider hypermedia structure, learner's cognitive style, and learning outcomes when they plan and design hypermedia learning program.

  • This study examined the effects and roles of transmedia such as trailer (i.e., trailer) and webtoon OST (i.e., Original Sound Track), which have recently served as extended content in webtoons. In recent years, the number of transmedias using webtoons has increased rapidly, and production and consumption in various directions have been taking place. However, studies on whether these contents lead to positive emotions and attitudes toward webtoons are not actively conducted. Therefore, this paper examined the effect through loyalty and perceived enjoyment, and found that 'increasing immersion in content through transmedia' plays a major role as a major variable. In addition, it is determined whether these mechanisms appear differently by gender, and in the case of women, media consumption tends to be based on emotional signals compared to men, so transmedia will further increase the level of immersion, but webtoon content did not show gender effects on media consumption. This is a meaningful result that shows that in general, media consumption methods according to gender appear differently in webtoons. Therefore, based on the results, this study presented directions and implications to keep in mind when planning the production of various transmedias using webtoons.

  • Multimedia communication systems are characterized by supporting three different typer of services such as circuit switched services, and packet switched real Lime and non real time services. The wireless channels in a cell ate allocated by calls of these different service classes and the different service requirements have to be met. SRN is an extension of stochastic Petri nets and provides compact Modeling facilities for system analysis. To get the performance index, appropriate reward rates are assigned to its SRN. In this paper, we present a SRN model for performance analysis of channel allocation of multimedia mobile communication systems. The key contribution of this paper constitutes the Petri nets modeling techniques instead of complicate numerical analysis of Markov chains and easy way of performance analysis for channel allocations under SRN rewards concepts.

  • Digital signage is referred to as a smart electronic display system that delivers multimedia-based information and advertisements to customers. Typically, the digital signage starts its playback after downloading a list of multimedia contents from network storage to its local disk. However, a way of downloading the entire contents before its playback entails a long initial delay time. In this paper, we formulate a problem of the initial delay time and provide a solution to compute a minimally demanded initial delay time according to a given network bandwidth and qualities/sizes of the multimedia contents. In addition, we analyze the performance of the proposed solution with various multimedia contents on digital signage.

  • KMS에서 지식전달 및 지식공유를 위한 커뮤니케이션 도구는 필수적인 요소지만 현재 국내 KMS에서 채택하고 있는 비실시간, 혹은 문자 중심의 커뮤니케이션 도구로는 지식전달 및 공유를 위한 조직원간의 커뮤니케이션 활성화가 불가능하다. 본 연구에서는 KMS의 커뮤니케이션 활성화를 위한 실시간 멀티미디어 인스턴트 메신저의 역할을 제시하였다. 제시된 KMS용 실시간 멀티미디어 시스템은 화상/음성통신, 문자/그래픽통신, 화이트보드통신, 화면공유, 그리고 에스코티드 브라우징과 같은 다양한 커뮤니케이션 방법을 제공하기 때문에 조직원간의 지식공유/전달, 공동작업, 그리고 사용자 편리성 및 접근성을 제공할 수 있을 것이다.
