  • In this paper, the dynamic stiffness of scaled boundary finite element method(SBFEM) was analytically derived to represent the non-homogeneous space. The non-homogeneous parameters were introduced as an expotential value of power function which denoted the non-homogeneous properties of analysis domain. The dynamic stiffness of analysis domain was asymptotically expanded in frequency domain, and the coefficients of polynomial series were determined to satify the radiational condition. To verify the derived dynamic stiffness of domain, the numerical analysis of the typical problems which have the analytical solution were performed as various non-homogeneous parameters. As results, the derived dynamic stiffness adequatlly represent the features of the non-homogeneous space.

  • In the layered medium, infinite Sommerfeld integral must be evaluated to calculate a space domain Green's function. The complex image method and the two-level method provide rapid calculation and accurate solutions in the near-field region. However, in the intermediate and far-field region, the solutions are inaccurate due to the deformation of the sampling contour. In this paper, we propose a method to calculate an accurate closed-form Green's function for coplanar structure by sampling data on the real axis.

  • A method analizing contact pressure between plate and elastic half space is presented by using F.E.M. With the method, the pressure intensities at surface nodes of half space cae be directly calculated by using flexibility matrix of half space. The method is originally presented by Y.K. Cheung et al.(3) Insted of Y.K. Cheung's method, which use a conception of equi-contact pressure area around each surface nodes of half space in the noded rectanqular element area. We use the equi-contact pressure area around the Gaussian integration points of half space surface in the noded isoparametric element area. Numarical examples are presented and compared with other's studies.

  • The analysis of dynamic responses are carried out on several orthotropic systems due to transient line source. These include infinite and semi-infinite spaces. The media possess orthotropic or higher symmetry. The lode is in the form of a normal stress acting with parallel to symmetry axis on the plane of symmetry within the materials. The results are first derived for responses of infinite media due to a harmonic line source. Subsequently the results for semi-infinite are derived by using superposition of the solution in the infinite medium together with a scattered solution from the boundaries. The sum of both solutions has to satisfy stress free boundary conditions thereby leading to the complete solutions. Explicit splutions for the displacements due to transient line loads are then obtaind by using Cargniard-DeHoop contour.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the electromagnetic field characteristics of array antenna with the finite difference-time domain algorithm. Finite difference equations of Maxwell's equations are defined in cylindrical coordinate systems. To simulate the unbounded problem like a free space, the Mur's absorbing boundary condition is also used. After modeling the array antenna with the grid structure, the transient response of the field distribution is depicted in the time domain.

  • In this paper numerical wave propagation experiments have been performed to visually confirm whether the signals scattered by water masses can be a false alarm in active sonar. The numerical environments consist of exaggerated water masses as targets in free space. Using a pseudospectral time-domain model for irregular boundary, the back-scattered signals have been calculated and compared with analytic solutions. Also, the sound propagation was simulated. Consequently, it was verified that water masses themselves could not be detected as a false target.

  • In this paper, to analyze the initial valued non-homogeneous elastic half space by the scaled boundary analysis, the infinite element approach was introduced. The free surface of the initial valued non-homogeneous elastic half space was mode1ed as a circumferential direction of boundary scaled boundary coordinate. The infinite element was used to represent the infinite length of the free surface. The initial value of material property(elastic modulus) was considered by the combination of the position of the sealing center and the power function of the radial direction. By use of the mapping type infinite element, the consistent e1ements formulation could be available. The performance and the feasibility of proposed approach are examined by two numerical examples.
