  • 이제 우리는 텔레비전 프로그램을 이동전화기로 보는데 익숙하다. 방송과 통신융합의 패러다임이 가져 온 변화에 빠르게 적응해나가고 있으며, 그 중심에 모바일 TV가 있다. 하지만 시청하는 미디어 기기만 다를 뿐, 플랫폼에 적합한 새롭고 참신한 콘텐츠를 찾아보기란 매우 어렵다. 이동 중 시청이 편리한 모바일 TV가 단순한 재방송 시청을 위한 기기에 불과하다면 분명히 문제가 있다. 본 연구에서는 양방향, 위치기반서비스, 가속도센서 등으로 중무장한 스마트폰과 모바일 TV의 마리아주를 통해 모바일 TV 3.0의 신개념을 제안하고, 이를 중심으로 한 차별화된 프로그램 장르별 제작 방안을 모색하고자 한다.

  • 최근 모바일 기술이 지속적으로 발전해 감에 따라 모바일 통신 네트워크를 통한 방송서비스인 모바일 TV가 급속한 확산을 보이고 있다. 기존 모바일 TV 서비스를 대상으로 수행한 선행연구는 주로 모바일 TV 서비스 관련 기술 탐색, 최신 시장동향 분석, 서비스 수용 영향요인 등을 중심으로 연구가 활발히 진행되어 온 반면 서비스 수용 후 행동에 관하여 체계적인 분석을 수행한 연구는 부족한 것이 현실이다. 이러한 배경 하에서, 본 연구는 모바일 TV 서비스 이용자를 대상으로 해당 서비스에 대한 지속적 이용의도 형성에 중요한 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 요인을 파악해 보는 것을 주목적으로 하였다. 연구목적을 효과적으로 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 관련 문헌에 관한 종합적 고찰을 통해 모바일 TV 서비스의 채택 후 행동을 체계적으로 파악해 보기 위하여 지각된 놀이성, 기대 일치, 지각된 사용용이성, 지각된 유용성, 만족, 지속 이용 의도 등 여섯 가지 차원을 포함한 연구모델을 제안하였다. 그리고 제안된 연구모델에 포함된 각 요인들 간의 영향관계에 관한 연구가설을 수립하였다. 향후 모바일 TV 이용자를 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하고, 제안된 모델 및 가설에 대한 실증적 분석을 실시해 보고자 한다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 최근 사용자 수가 급증하고 있으며, 높은 관심의 대상이 되고 있는 모바일 TV 분야의 연구자 및 실무자들에게 서비스 이용자를 장기적으로 유지하고, 이를 토대로 지속적인 수익을 창출하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 시사점을 제공해 보고자 한다.

A Study on the Displacement of Mobile OTT Video Services on Home TV (모바일 OTT 동영상 서비스 이용이 홈 TV 시청에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined whether mobile OTT video service substitutes home TV by using 3 screen data of Nielson-KoreanClick. According to the 2SLS estimation results, when the time spent on mobile OTT video service increased by 1% p, the time spent watching home TV decreased by 12.4%. The results also showed that 1%p increase in the time spent using YouTube app and the mobile OTT video services provided by telecommunication company(Oksusu, Alleh TV, VideoPortal) reduced the time spent on watching terrestrial channels on TV by 16.2% and 23.9%, respectively. The displacement of mobile OTT video service on home TV will be accelerated in the near future. In order to resolve the issue of regulatory unfairness with pay TV services and to safeguard viewer's interests, discussions to establish regulation for OTT video services should be taken place more quickly.

The Role of Perceived Cost toward on Continuance Intention of Mobile TV: Focused on Chinese users (지각된 비용이 모바일 TV 지속사용의도에 미치는 영향: 중국 사용자를 중심으로)

  • This study highlight the role of perceived cost on user's continuance intention to use mobile TV service in china. We proposed research model based on the expectation-confirmation model(ECM) and reclaim 243 questionnaires from experienced users in china. Above all, the analysis results support significant relationship perceived variables, satisfaction, and continuance intention of mobile TV. First, while expectation confirmation has positive influence on perceived playfulness and satisfaction, the effect on perceived usefulness is not significant. Second, perceived cost can significantly predict perceived usefulness and satisfaction, however, we found no evidence of a statistically significant influence on perceived playfulness. Third, perceived usefulness and perceived playfulness have a positive influence on satisfaction, and perceived usefulness, satisfaction, and perceived playfulness have a positive influence on continuance intention. This results provide implications from both theoretical and managerial perspectives and the limitations have been discussed for future research.

A Study on the Effect of Next-Generation Mobile Advertising Service for TV Advertising Effectiveness (TV 광고 효과 향상을 위한 차세대 모바일 광고서비스 효과 연구)

  • This study suggests that 'Will not we use more smartphones while watching TV commercials? Then, will the TV advertising effect decrease due to the distributed concentration?". As a result of the preliminary study, it was confirmed that about 63% of users watching TV commercials use smartphones together. In this study, we propose the possibility of a new mobile advertising service by experimenting and analyzing the effect of high frequency technology based TV advertising linked mobile advertising service. Experimental results show that the response rate of the same content is improved about 9 times as compared with that of the general mobile advertisement when the advertisement of the same content is provided by the TV advertisement interlocking type. It can be confirmed that it is quite effective to provide the same content advertisement to the customers who are in front of the TV at the time of sending the TV advertisement. Therefore, it is expected that various services based on high frequency technology will be activated as a new advertising service that will preserve the effect of TV commercials in the future.

  • 모바일 영상 환경에서는 협소한 스크린과 한정된 배터리 등의 제약으로 RMC(Ready Made Contents) 보다는 UGC 혹은 스낵형 콘텐츠가 적합하다. 이러한 콘텐츠로 포지셔닝 된 아프리카TV도 모바일 시대를 맞아 급성장 할 수 있었다. 향후에도 모바일 영상 서비스는 라이트한 캐주얼 콘텐츠로 계속 진화해 갈 것으로 보인다.

  • Social Network Service has been extremely popular these days and providing diverse features and functions to users. Social networking and interest sharing in between users are key factors of SNS and this circles back to draw more users to the service. Web is the first media to provide SNS and mobile is the next. The service based on mobile environmental uniqueness such as Location-based-service(LBS) is the key success factors to convert users to web SNS to mobile SNS. TV has also been a possible SSN market to draw users to share interests and participation. However TV has been always community electronics in family members and personalization to provide SNS has been barrier to overcome. In this study, we explorer ideas of key factors of personalization in TV environment and conducted a field study to define characteristics of TV personalization in terms of depth, method, style and structure. Research finds out that there are significant differences in these categories.

  • This study analyzes factors that influence use diversity or usage of mobile video services. This study conducts multiple regression analysis to draw the major factors that affect use diversity or usage of mobile video services. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, IPTV membership status, DMB watching status, and TV contents broadcasting status affect the use diversity of mobile video services. Second, TV contents broadcasting status and video streaming quality affect the usage of mobile video services. This study provides some implications that TV contents broadcasting is a core element in mobile video services. The future research is discussed.

A Study on 3D Object and GUI Representation Based on MPEG-4 BIFS for Mobile TV (MPEG-4 BIFS 기반 모바일 방송 환경에서 3D 객체 및 GUI 표현 기술 연구)

  • Despite the fact that the mobile environment has favorable conditions for using data contents, it is not easy to implement enhanced data services for mobile broadcasting based on MPEG-4 BIFS. With a structure inherited from VRML, BIFS targets different types of content with a development approach that is not very compatible with broadcasting contents. Furthermore, it is not easy to implement BIFS because the standard is too complicated for the mobile broadcasting environment. Accordingly, this study proposes an enhanced mobile TV contents model that provides interactive 3D objects and GUI for the viewers to interact with the broadcasting contents. By applying the model to the DMB environment, this study suggests a direction for future developments of mobile broadcasting contents. In order to represent 3D graphics on mobile TV, we analyzed MPEG-BIFS 3D nodes and composed a subset of VRML profile, and defined new nodes that can efficiently represent GUI at the content development level. If this study helps facilitate expression of 3D graphics and interactions in data contents composition, enhanced efficiency of contents development is expected to promote the development of various contents suitable for the mobile broadcasting environment.
