Analytical Study of Railroad Bridge for Maglev Propulsion Train with Dynamical Influence Variable (동적영향변수를 통한 자기부상열차용 철도교의 해석적 연구)

  • Because maglev trains have a propulsion and absorption force without contact with the rails, they can drive safely at high-speed with little oscillation. Recently, test model of a maglev propulsion train was produced and operated, and has since been chosen as a national growth industry in South Korea; there have been many studies and considerable investment in these fields. This study examined the dynamic responses due to bridge-maglev train interaction and basic material to design bridges for maglev trains travelling at high-speed. Depending on the major factors affecting the dynamic effects, the scope of this study was restricted to the relationship between dynamic responses. A concrete box girder was chosen as a bridge model and injured train and rail types in domestic production were selected as the moving train load and guideway analysis model, respectively. From the analysis results, the natural frequency of a bridge for a maglev train, which has a deflection limit L/2000, was higher than those of bridges for general trains. The dynamic responses of the girder of the bridge for a maglev train showed a substantial increase in proportion to the velocities of the moving train like other general bridge cases. Maximum dynamic response of the girder is shown at a moving velocity of 240km/h and increased with increasing moving velocity of train. These results can be used to design a bridge for maglev propulsion trains and provide the basic data to confirm the validity and verification of the design code.

  • Vibration control devices are classified into passive, semi-active and active device. TMD(Tuned Mass Damper) is one of the passive control device that is mainly used to reduce vibration level of building structure and bridge structure. In this study, the application of passive tuned mass damper(TMD) to seismic response control of dome structures has been investigated. Because star dome structure has primary characteristics of dome structures, star dome structure was used as an example dome structure that is subjected to horizontal or vertical seismic loads. From this numerical analysis, it is shown that seismic response are influenced by vibration modes and it is reasonable to install TMD to the dominant points of each mode. And it is found that the passive TMD could effectively reduce the seismic responses of dome structure.

  • In this paper, the structural integrity for a cylindrical vehicle in subsonic environments is verified. In order to confirm static structural safety for the cylindrical vehicle in extreme maneuver condition, the structure analysis and full-scale static structure test are carried out. The commercial finite element codes, MSC. Patran/Nastran is used for numerical simulation. The full-scale static structure test equipment consists of the counterbalance system, loading system and data acquisition system. Besides, the dynamic characteristics for the cylindrical vehicle are reviewed by performing an impact hammer test.

  • Tuned Liquid Dampers(TLD) are energy dissipation devices that have been proposed to control the dynamics response of structure. The TLD has been shown to effectively control the wind response of structures. However, controlling responses of structures with TLD under seismic loads are not fully investigated. The objective of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of single degree of freedom(SDF) with TLDs having various tuning and mass raitos. For this purpose, analytical studies are conducted. Different soil conditions are considered in this study. As a result, performance of TLD, appeared diffrently depending on the natural period, damping ratio of the structure. Also TLD tuning ratio appeared differently.

  • 일반적으로 건물 구조물에 전달되는 기계진동을 감소시키기 위해서 기계와 기초사이에 유연한 방진소자를 삽입하여 기계가진력(exciting force)의 전달 률을 줄인다. 또한 구조물의 고유진동수와 진동원의 가진주파수가 일치할 경 우, 가진주파수를 변화시키거나, 구조물의 동특성을 변화시키는 방법을 사용 한다. 어떠한 방안을 선택하든 효과적이고 정량적인 방진 시스템을 구성하고 구조물의 정확한 진동상태를 예측하기 위해서는 진동원의 가진특성과 구조 물의 동특성에 대한 정보가 요구된다. 일반적으로 방진설계를 위해 필요한 진동원의 가진특성은 제조회사의 사양이나 측정을 통하여 비교적 쉽게 얻을 수 있다. 복합재료, 다양한 경계조건, 복잡한 대형구조물등은 수치해석을 이 용하여 해석적인 방법으로 동특성을 구할 경우, 신뢰성 있는 정보를 얻기에 는 많은 노력이 요구된다. 더우기 현장에서 발생하는 진동문제는 대부분 복 잡하고 시간적으로 시급히 해결해야 하기 때문에 효율적인 절차를 구성하여 구조물의 동특성을 해석하는 방법을 사용할 필요가 있다. 구조물의 동특성은 실험적인 방법을 통하여 구하고 그 외의 필요한 계산들은 해석을 통하여 얻 는 것이 효율적일 수 있다. 실험적 동특성해석은 입력하중에 대한 응답의 크 기와 위상 비를 주파수별로 나타내는 전달함수를 측정하는 방법으로서 가진 장치 및 여러 측정/분석 장비가 필요하며, 철교, 교량, 건물의 철골 및 콘크 리트 슬라브등 다양한 중대형의 구조물을 Signal/Noise비가 좋도록 가진 시 켜야 할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 실험적 방법의 현장 적응성과 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 대형충격기(large impact hammer, max, peak force 약 10000N, time duration 약 20ms)를 제작하고 실험/분석 시스템 및 구조물 의 진동제어를 위한 절차를 Fig.1과 같이 구성하고 이를 철근콘크리트 건물 에 설치한 기계식 주차설비의 진동제어에 적용하였다.force response simulation)를 수행하여 임의의 좌표 공간에 대한 진동수준을 해석적으로 예측할 뿐만 아니라 구조물의 진동제어 를 위한 동적인자를 변경시킬 수 있는 정보를 제공하며 장비를 방진할 경우 신뢰성 있는 전달률을 결정할 수 있다. 실험적으로 철교, 교량이나 건물의 철골구조 및 2층 바닥 등 대,중형의 복잡한 구조물에 대항 동특성을 나타내 는 모빌리티를 결정할 경우 충격 가진 실험이 사용되는 실험장비 측면에서 나 실험을 수행하는 과정이 대체적으로 간편하다. 그러나 이 경우 대상 구조 물을 충분히 가진시킬수 있는 용량의 대형 충격기(large impact hammer)가 필요하게 된다. 이러한 동적실험은 약 길이 61m, 폭 16m의 4경간 교량에 대 하여 동적실험을 수행하여 가능성을 확인하였다. 여기서는 실험실 수준의 평 판모델을 제작하고 실제 현장에서 이루어질 수 있는 진동제어 구조물에 대 한 동적실험 및 FRS를 수행하는 과정과 동일하게 따름으로써 실제 발생할 수 있는 오차나 error를 실험실내의 차원에서 파악하여 진동원을 있는 구조 물에 대한 진동제어기술을 보유하고자 한다. 이용한 해마의 부피측정은 해마경화증 환자의 진단에 있어 육안적인 MR 진단이 어려운 제한된 경우에만 실제적 도움을 줄 수 있는 보조적인 방법으로 생각된다.ofile whereas relaxivity at high field is not affected by τS.   • Squat exercise is one of the important free weight exercises that can safely and effectively expect the athletic performance by establishing the rationale. Therefore, it is necessary to study the side effects caused by incorrect exercise, scientific countermeasures and to develop a exercise estimation model. It is effective and accurate to use a variety of assistive devices to calibrate athletic posture. The issues of the structural analysis for designing a foot plate for squat exercise is to model the behavior by the dynamic behavior. It should be consider that the center of gravity of each segmented body is different when the maximum load is applied. It is applied to complete system design through simulation method with kinematic dynamic, ground reaction force and load analysis for the free weight exercise equipment, VR device, and safety foot plate. In this paper, the authors propose the design method for the vertical load distribution applied in the design of the foot plate used for the squat exercise mechanism, and based on these results, design make the more safe and reliable free weight exercise equipment system.

  • 한국형 해저원유 초기생산 시스템은 제주도 남쪽의 한.일 공동개발구역 및 이와 유사한 조건의 지역에서 소규모 유전이 발견되었을때, 빠른 시간내에 저렴한 초기투자비로 석유를 생산할 수 있도록 개발되었다. 이 시스템은 원유저장용 선박, tower, yoke, gravity base 및 원유처리장치들로 구성되어 있으며 각 구조믈들은 pin 또는 universal joint들로 연결되어있다. 본 구조물의 파도중에서의 동적거동은 전산 program을 이용하여 구하여 wave tank에서 수행된 실험의 결과와 비교, 검토하였다. 그리고 이들 결과를 이용하여 구조적 안전성을 검토하였으며, 설계, 해석 및 model test의 결과들은 선급협회의 승인을 받았다.

The Pseudo-Dynamic Test for the Seismic Retrofit System Utilizing Existing Bridge Bearings (교량의 기존 받침을 활용하는 내진보강시스템의 유사동적 실험)

  • In this study, an approach that installs seismic isolation bearings was proposed for the seismic retrofit of the existing bridges. The method that replaces all existing bearings with seismic isolators was proposed already. However, in this study, we recommend to utilize the existing bearings for the benefit of safety and cost. According to our proposal, the seismic isolators do not support vertical loads but they Just function as the period shifter and the horizontal damper. To verify this approach experimentally, the real scale bearings and lead rubber bearings far the real highway bridges were designed and fabricated. And the responses of this isolated bridges to the assumed earthquakes were determined by the pseudo dynamic test scheme. The test results were also compared to the responses computed by the well known structural analysis software to check the reliability of the test. From the test results, we found that the retrofitted bridges using the proposed method showed stable performances under earthquakes.

  • Medical waste management is becoming increasingly important, specifically in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, as hospitals, clinics, quarantine centers, and medical research institutes are generating tons of medical waste every day. Previously, a traditional incineration process was utilized for managing medical waste, but the lack of landfill sites, and accompanying environmental concerns endanger public health. Consequently, an innovative sterilization shredding system was developed to resolve this problem. In this research, we focused on the design and numerical analysis of a shredding system for hazardous and infectious medical waste, to establish its operational performance. The shredding machine's components were modeled in a CAD application, and finite element analysis (FEA) was conducted using ABAQUS software. Static, fatigue, and dynamic loading conditions were used to analyze the structural stability of the cutting blade. The blade geometry proved to be effective based on the cutting force applied to shred medical waste. The dynamic stability of the structure was verified using modal analysis. Furthermore, an S-N curve was generated using a high cycle fatigue study, to predict the expected life of the cutting blade. Resultantly, an appropriate shredder system was devised to link with a sterilization unit, which could be beneficial in reducing the volume of medical waste and disposal time, thereof, thus eliminating environmental issues, and potential health hazards.

  • In this paper, to protect the piping in nuclear power plants and various plant facilities, we have developed a damper using the friction method and carried out a study to analyze the performance. Friction typed damper means a device for attenuating vibration by generating a frictional force to the bearing and the shaft by applying a compressive force to the MER-Spring. In order to analyze the performance of the damper, the properties of MER-Spring and friction materials were analyzed, a study on the effects of friction was carried out, and the behavior of this equation was established. And, to determine whether deformation of the material and to examine the reliability of the behavior equation established, prototypes was produced and, through a performance test and finite element analysis of a damper made of specimens, they were analyzed. As a result, it is noted that the reliability of the material was confirmed, the coefficient of friction have to be adjusted according to the velocity, cyclic loading test and finite element analysis results show exhibits excellent results. In addition, a review of the dynamic loads in the future shall be performed for the usage in more broad fields.
