In this paper we consider the security of recently proposed software-orienred stram cipher HELIX, SCREAM, MUGI, and PANAMA against algebraic attacks. Algebraic attack is a key recovery attack by solving an over-defined system of multi-variate equations with input-output pairs of an algorithm. The attack was firstly applied to block ciphers with some algebraic properties and then it has been mon usefully applied to stream ciphers. However it is difficult to obtain over-defined algebraic equations for a given cryptosystem in general. Here we analyze recently proposed software-oriented stream ciphers by constructing a system of equations for each cipher. furthermore we propose three design considerations of software-oriented stream ciphers.

Gartner Japan·Dataquest는 2005년의 일본 프린터 시장은 잉크젯 복합기의 출하대수가 증가함으로써 시장이 확대하여, 판매점(Vendor) 출하대수가 869만3천 대(전년대비 11.3% 증가), 금액은 3,627억3,700만 엔(동 2.1% 증가)에 달했다는 조사결과를 발표했다. 대수에 비해 금액 증가율이 낮은 이유는 프린터 본체의 평균가격이 내렸기 때문이다.

This paper describes a new simplified logarithmic counting Tatemeter for the measurement of wide range counting rates without selector switch. Theoritical analysis of the proposed circuit and synthesis technique for designing a multi.decade instrument using this configuration are given. It has a linear response on the logarithmic scale for random pulses of Poisson's distribution as well as for periodic pulses. The experimental circuit designed by the proposed technique has a good logarithmic response over 5 decades covering the counting rates from 1 pps to $10^5$ pps. Also the causes of inaccuracy in the low and high range are examined and effestively removed.

In a rapidly changing and increasingly technological society. the use of technology should not be disregarded in issues of learning algebra. The use of technology in learning algebra raises many learning and pedagogical issues. In this article, previous research on the use of technology in learning algebra is synthesized on the basis of the four issues: conceptual understanding, skills, instrumental genesis, and transparency. Finally, suggestions for future research into technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPCK) are made.

Today linear algebra is one of compulsory courses for university mathematics by virtue of its theoretical fundamentals and fruitful applications. Vector theory and matrix theory constitute of main topics in linear algebra. In the present paper we consider the question which of the two topics is prior in teaching of linear algebra. We suggest that vector theory should be prior to matrix theory contrary to the historical order of them.

A new two-step soft output Viterbi algorithm (SOVA) for turbo decoder is proposed and analyzed in 7his paper. Due to the algebraic structure of the proposed algorithm, slate and branch metrics can be obtained wish parallel processing using matrix arithmetic. As a result, the number of multiplications to calculate state metrics of each stage and total memory size can be decreased tremendously. Therefore, it can be expected that the proposed algebraic two-step SOVA is suitable for applications in which low computational complexity and memory size are essential.

경상북도 고령군 다산면, 천안시 풍세면 삼태리 및 부여 정동ㆍ자왕 지역의 장기수위관측 데이터 및 강수, 대기압 자료의 시계열 분석을 통하여 대수층의 함양특성 및 특히, 대기압에 대한 지하수위 변화 특성을 통한 대수층의 특성(properties) 유추 가능 여부를 보고자 하였다. 하천에 인접한 자왕지구의 경우 자기상관분석에 의하면 다른 세 지역에 비해 데이터 값이 안정적이지 못하며, 대기압 변화에 대한 상관분석에서도 낮은 상관성을 나타낸다. 강수에 대한 함양 특성을 상호상관분석을 통해 해 보았으나, 강설에 의한 영향인지 대체적인 지연시간이 길게 나타났다. 차후 장기적인 데이터 수집 및 분석을 통해 좀 더 정확한 대수층 특성을 밝히고자 한다.

대수층 저장 및 회수(Aquifer Storage and Recovery, 이하 ASR) 기법은 지표수가 여유가 있는 기간동안 지하 대수층에 정수된 물을 주입하여 두었다가, 첨두 수요(peak demand)가 필요한 한시적인 기간동안 대수층 내에 저장되어 있던 물을 양수하여 공급하는 새로운 개념의 수자원 공급 체계의 일환이다. 본 발표에서는 미국 Oregon 주의 대표적인 3개 도시에서 수행된 수자원 공급 사업과 이 수자원 공급사업에서 ASR 기법이 어떻게 적용되었는지를 살펴보았다. 이들 도시에서 수행된 ASR 기법을 활용한 수자원 공급은, 기존 지표 저류조 저장 방식에 비해 월등히 경제적이며, 다양한 이점을 가지고 있는 것으로 드러났다. 또한 이들 도시에서의 ASR 기법 적용에 따른 효율성이 2001년도 및 2002년도에 분명하게 나타나 현재 이들 도시는 ASR 시설에 대한 확충 계획을 수립, 진행하고 있다. 한편, 이들 지역의 ASR 기법 활용 용수 공급 사례는, 국내의 경우에도 투수성이 우수한 화산암 지역, 제3기 지층 및 석회암 지역 등에서 활용될 경우, 충분한 효과를 발휘 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

In this paper, Ive investigated algebraic concepts which are contained in Euclid's Elements. In the Books II, V, and VII∼X of Elements, there are concepts of quadratic equation, ratio, irrational numbers, and so on. We also analyzed them for mathematical meaning with modem symbols and terms. From this, we can find the essence of the genesis of algebra, and the implications for students' mathematization through the experience of the situation where mathematics was made at first.
