In this study, Entropy method and PROMETHEE(Preference Ranking organization METHod for Enrichment Evaluations) which is one of the multi criteria decision making methods are applied to estimate the relative inundation risk ranking of the urban sewer systems. Then, the evaluation factors were selected considering two main items to estimate the inundation risk using Entropy and PROMETHEE. In the first item considering topographical and environmental factor, average elevation, average slope, width of area, population, density of conduit were selected as the detailed factors of first item which have influence of the overflow occurrence and damage scale in urban sewer system. And, the relative reliability of sewer network was considered as the second item which can quantify the inundation appearance. Then, the reliability is estimated considering the number of overflow nodes and overflow volume simultaneously. Therefore, the suggested inundation risk evaluation method can be used as the evaluation index for sewer networks and contribute to decision making for the sewer rehabilitation policy.
This paper presents a method to apply the linear goal programming, which has rarely been used to the structural opimization problem due to its unique formulation, to large scale nonlinear structural optimization. The method can be used as a multicriteria optimization tool since goal programming removes the difficulty in defining an objective function and constraints. The method uses the finite element analysis, linear goal programming techniques and successive linearization to obtain the solution for the nonlinear goal optimization problems. The general formulation of the structural optimization problem into a nonlinear goal programming form is presented. The successive linearization method for the nonlinear goal optimization problem is discussed. To demonstrate the validity of the method, as a design tool, the minimum weight structural optimization problems with stress constraints are solved for the cases of 10, 25 and 200 trusses and compared with the results of the other works.
Intangibility, measurement difficulty and irreversibility, which are the characteristics of service, have such problems as obscurity and uncertainty in quality evaluation. Technical entrepreneurship education, a sort of public service, also contains such characteristics of service. To objectively evaluate the service quality of technical entrepreneurship education, this paper drew up factors as hierarchical structure, centered on FAHP technique, and conducted pre-processing, inputted those factors into triangular fuzzy number fuzzy judgement matrix, and calculated their weights. In this manner, this paper proposed a TESE system, through which an analysis can be conducted by drawing relative importance and priorities of the factors. The proposed system can efficiently evaluate the qualitative technical start-up education service quality factors quantitatively in the diversely changing technical start-up environment in view of the highest result quality (41%), which means performance in the relative importance of major factors. Namely, this paper confirmed that clear decision making can be made through an experiment.
Climate change affects human and natural environment. Many countries, including Korea, are trying to develop climate change adaptation strategies to minimize adverse impacts of climate change. To deal with climate change efficiently, decisions have to be made among many options. The objectives of this paper is to analyzes methodologies for prioritizing climate change adaptation measures. Each methodology has strength and weakness and information requirements are differ. We find multi-criteria analysis is one of useful tools considering current level of understanding on climate change adaptation. We suggest climate change risks(timing, likelihood, intensity of climate change impacts), feasibility of policy (equity, main-streaming, democracy), effectiveness (economic effectiveness, co-benefits, propagation effects) of adaptation measures as main evaluation criteria of prioritization.

This paper discusses the test procedure, instrumentation, verification methodology and the results of the ground vibration test(GVT) performed on the KF-16D aircraft to estimate experimentally dynamic characteristics of the aircraft. The modal tests for 7 external store configurations were conducted to estimate effects of external stores on the aircraft vibration modes. To emulate free-free boundary conditions the test aircraft was mounted on its landing gear structure with deflated tires during the GVT. The airframe modal tests were done by burst random excitations with 6 to 8 shakers and about 200 accelerometers. Frequency response functions(FRFs) were measured for each test, and the FRFs were reduced and analyzed to identify the dynamic parameters interested. The analyses were carried out in two steps. To extract modal parameters such as, frequencies and damping ratios, the poly-reference least square complex exponential method was used in the time domain. The mode shape coefficients were estimated with the least squares frequency domain method to identify the vibration modes.
This paper aims at developing a new index that represents the Korean new growth industries, which is named the Korea Future Technology Index(KOFTI). The KOFTI is designed to provide a reliable and econometric index based on which the Korean government searches for new growth engines. The KOFTI is composed of three individual indexes such as the Economic Impact Index, the Future Strategy Index, and the Technological Influence Index. The KOFTI is applied for 62 star brands, which have been promoted by the Korean government for the korean future industrial competitiveness. The top 13 leading industries are drawn from the calculation of the KOFTI for 62 star brands.
As electronic commerce(EC) has grown rapidly, agents that work on the behalf of humans on the Internet are being used actively. However, most of the EC agents have some problems. They fail to fully support buyers' decision making behaviors and sellers' information supply activities. Further, they are not suited for mobile computing environment. In this paper, we introduce a Multi-Mobile Agents System(MMAS) that has been developed according to a conceptual framework that corrects the aforementioned problems. Built by using Tokyo IBM ASDK(Aglets Software Development Kit) for the area of hotel reservation, the system consists of buyer- and seller-side agents that interact with each other; buyer-side agents help buyers to make purchasing decisions by collecting and analyzing information through applying a multi-criteria decision making method, while seller-side agents substitute fur sellers by managing databases and providing real-time information to the buyer-side agents. In this system, multiple agents perform their shared tasks at the same time in order to increase efficiency. Users do not have to keep the connection with the system because they are notified when tasks are done.

Recently, most of firms have continuously released new products satisfying various needs of customers in order to increase market share. As a lot of products with various functionalities, prices and designs are released in the market, users have difficulties in choosing an appropriate product, especially for information technology driven devices. In case of digital cameras, inexperienced users spend a lot of time and efforts to find proper model for them. In this study, therefore, we design and implement a personalized recommendation system using analytic hierarchy process, one of the multi-criteria decision making techniques, and hybrid filtering combining content-based filtering and collaborative filtering to recommend a suitable product for inexperienced users of information technology devices.

Park-and- Rides are intermodal transfer facilities providing a staging location for travellers to transfer between transportation modes. They are an alternative to alleviate transportation problems such as traffic congestion and air pollution in metropolitan areas. Siting Park-and-Ride facilities belongs to a kind of multi-criteria spatial decision making problems being associated with a combination of various location factors. The purpose of this paper is to provide a method and procedure to evaluate the location suitability of Park-and-Ride facilities using GIS(Geographic Information Systems). Using GIS-based suitability analysis, land value, landuse, road accessibility, public transportation accessibility, possibility to intercept automobile trips, distance to activity center and competition with existing facilities were evaluated as location factors. The suitabilities of individual factors were combined to produce a composite map with a specific weight scheme. Then a given number of sites with high suitability score were selected as potential facility locations and their demand were evaluated based on a commutershed with parabolic shape. The suggested method and procedure will provide useful information in determining Park-and-Ride sites and designing their structure.

In recent years, with the focus on the younger generation, a minimal life that pursues a simple and light life has attracted attention, and a product that occupies a small space and has high practicality attracts attention. Therefore, a lot of studies on small but realistic products are going on by combining plural products into one. In this study, we developed a smart stand that can save space on the desk. The stand is equipped with a smartphone holder, humidifier, negative ion generator, and speaker functions. Because of this study, it is expected that the efficiency of space and economy will be improved in a small house of one person.
