The South Korean government has introduced a new Customized Care Service for Older Adults by eliminating the six existing care services for them since 2020. It is a significant change of care service system for older adults and the service would play a key role in providing preventive services for them. The aim of the study is to examine the meaning and tasks of the introduction of the Customized Care Services for Older Adults in South Korea by using the framework of Gilbert and Terrell. The study found that the new service was designed under the government's policy contexts of the establishments of public-based social service providers and the emphasis of community care, and it has brought about a number of significant institutional changes of care system in terms of allocation, benefits, delivery, and finance. The institutional coverage of the service was increased to lower 70% of older adults and a large number of kinds of health and social care services would be provided for them. The sphere of living was set in each local area and the new service providers are entirely in charge of providing the services in each sphere. The financing system was changed to support service providers by providing government subsidies. Although a number of positive results would be expected to occur for the elderly, it is likely that some challenging tasks would happen in the fields as follows: the inadequate coverage, the vagueness of the application of self-care principle and the decrease in the amounts of direct care services, the inappropriate area of service provision, and the supplier-oriented provision of services rather than user-oriented.

This study examines whether formal home care has led to a reduction in family member's allocation of time to care of elderly and changing the allocation of other time: informal care, market work, leisure, etc. Long-term care for the elderly is not the entire burden of elderly families anymore due to the increasing of the formal home care service for elderly since mid-2000's. This study uses triple difference(DDD) methods for evaluating policy reforms when reforms are equally and nation-wide accessible and analyzes data from the 2004 and 2009 Time Use Survey Data of the National Statistical Office in Korea. The treatment group is composed of the families of the elderly who need care and low- and middle- income family. Controlling for demographic characters, the three-way interaction term has statically significant and negative impact on care time of family members in treatment group statistically significant. The results reveal that the policy changes in elderly home care service affect time allocation of family members with old adults, which decreases caregiving time in a daily life. This result becomes apparent when we limit the case of women. But the level of reduction is not enough to change other kinds of time-informal care, market work, leisure, etc. The results indicate that formal home care for the elderly can reduce the burden of caregiving in families, but only minimally.

. 최근 인구구조의 변화는 급속한 노령화로 요약되고, 이에 따라 제기되는 각종 노인문제는 각 부문별로 정책적 대응을 필요로 하고 있음. . 우리나라는 세계적으로 유래를 찾아볼 수 없을 정도의 속도로 노인인구가 급속하게 증가하는 가운데, 전통적으로 가족을 중심으로 하는 사적 영역에서 담당해오던 노인 부양기능이 약화되고 있으며, 낮은 출산율로 인해 청장년층의 노인부양 부담이 점차 더욱 커질 것으로 전망됨. - 특히 노년기의 보건학적 특성으로 인하여 보건 분야의 주요 현안들을 야기하고 있는데, 노인인구는 보건의료서비스에 대한 수요가 높은 집단으로 1인당 보건의료비용 또한 가장 높은 집단일 뿐만 아니라, 노인의 건강문제는 보건의료서비스 이외에 건강문제로 파생되는 다양한 사회적 서비스와 연계되어 있음. - ­이러한 사실은 한편으로는 우리 사회가 향후 노인의 건강문제로 인해 발생하는 높은 비용과 부담을 지게 될 것이라는 사실을 의미함과 동시에 다른 한편으로는 이에 대한 대책을 시급히 마련해야 한다는 것을 의미함. This study examined the factors affecting service utilization of elderly residential care among long term care services recipients during long term care insurance pilot project period in Korea. Help-seeking Behavior model developed by Andersen and Newman(1973) was used to analyze the factors affecting their utilization residential care service among 1,939 long term care services recipients. Frequency and Decision Tree Regression analysis on SPSS 13.0 used. Analyses show strong significant factor is service preference(predisposing factors), and then significant factors are enabling factors such as co-residence type, household income. According to this results, need factors such as cognition disorder, problem behavior, ADL and IADL disabilities are affecting utilization behavior of elderly residential care services. These findings provide implications and suggestions about how long term care service system would be settled in Korea. And these finding provide information about target-efficient long term care continuum system to policy makers and helping professionals.

This study aims to identify the service quality perceived by Elderly Care Service users on the basis of 'SERVPERF model' targeting the service users, and verify the mediation effects of the choice which affects the relationship between information literacy and quality. For this, 208 elderly care comprehensive service users in Jeollabuk-do were analyzed as the targets using a structural equation. The results of this study are as follows. First, service users perceived the quality level to be very high. Second, user's information literacy has a significant effect on quality perception. Third, the effect of user 's information literacy on quality was partially mediated by choice. These results suggest that there is a need to provide enough information and opportunities for users to make choices in order to maintain a high quality of service.

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the current state and improvements of the public library services for older adult in Korea. According to the online survey of public libraries in urban areas across the country, a total of 172 libraries responded. Research shows that public libraries generally recognize the importance of elderly users, but there are limitations in active efforts. The priority area for library collection and space/facilities was to be strengthened by the expansion of large type and voice books/periodical books, as well as the need to ask librarians for help to find books in high bookshelves. In the case of library services/programs, the areas that need to be strengthened first were analyzed as social participation programs and humanities programs. The librarians in charge of information services expressed their opinions that more specialized services and programs should be planned and subdivided for the elderly generation in order to provide older adults' services unique to other older adults' service institutions.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of service quality and social support on users' satisfaction senior citizen hall according to the gender of the senior citizen. The research target is 309 senior citizens living in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province, and the survey was conducted from March 1 to March 31, 2019. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 21.0 program. The main results of this study are as follows: First, the living and residential patterns of the elderly women were investigated with a significant influence on the usability of the elderly. Second, in social support, the relationship of friends among elderly women has been statistically significantly verified for their users' satisfaction. Third, the reliability and assurance of the elderly and male in the service quality were identified as a statistically significant level. Therefore, in order to increase the users' satisfaction with the elderly as a welfare leisure facility for the elderly in the local community, it will be necessary to stabilize their living and living patterns, further activate their friendships, and provide them with a focus on reliability and assurance. Through this, the implications were presented for enhancing the users' satisfaction of senior citizens hall.

The purpose of this study is to type the necessary support services related to the employment of the elderly and to identify in-depth the relationship between the type of support services related to the employment of the elderly and factors that determine employment plans. Data provided by 182 small and medium-sized owners in Seoul A area were analyzed using latent profile analysis and logistic regression. As a result of the analysis, first, it was confirmed that the number of workers and the employment of the elderly were the factors that increased the probability of the elderly employment plans. Second, it was found that the "high-level group of necessary support services" is more likely to have plans to hire the elderly compared to other groups. Based on the results of the study, we would like to provide basic data regarding the direction of government support needed by private businesses to hire the elderly.

노인들이 많이 이용하는 이동 보조 기구인 기존 보행기에 다양한 기능이 부족하여 안전 서비스, 알림 서비스, 스마트폰 애플리케이션 서비스로 분류하여 기능을 추가하였다. 안전 서비스 부문의 기능으로는 경사로 사고 방지 시스템, 장애물 알림 시스템, 밝기에 따른 전조등 시스템, 손잡이에서 손이 떨어지면 자동으로 동작되는 브레이크 시스템, 겨울철 손을 따뜻하게 유지하기 위한 난방 시스템이 있다. 알림 서비스로는 현재의 온·습도 및 미세먼지 농도를 알려준 후 외출하기에 부적합할 시 경고등으로 알려주는 시스템이 있다. 스마트폰 애플리케이션 서비스는 심박 및 체온을 알려주고, 노인의 위치와 SOS신호, 운동량을 알 수 있고, 도난 방지 시스템이 있는 스마트 안전 노인 보행기를 설계하였다.
