  • This study aimed to investigate the effect of communication competence on the relationship between emotional intelligence and self-esteem among nursing students. The study is a cross-sectional survey and the participants were 173 students from one university located in M city. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression and Sobel test to test the significance of a mediation effect using SPSS 21 software. Results of the multiple regression were that communication competence had a significant positive effect on self-esteem and played a partially mediating role between emotional intelligence and self-esteem in nursing students. These findings imply that communication competence is important to improve the level of self-esteem in nursing students. This study highlights the value of fostering communication competence and the need to develop various convergence education strategies to promote communication competence in a balanced way to cultivate nursing students' self-esteem.

  • This study examined the influence of self-efficacy, communication competency and critical thinking disposition on the clinical performance ability in nursing students. A convenience sample of 274 subjects were recruited from four colleges, and the survey was conducted from September 1st to 20th 2015. The data were collected by questionnaires and analyzed with the SPSS WIN 21 program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression. Significant positive correlations among the self-efficacy, communication competency, critical thinking disposition, and clinical performance ability were found. The regression model explained 40.8% of the clinical competency. Self-efficacy, communication competency, critical thinking disposition, and image for the nurse were factors influencing clinical performance ability. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an educational program to improve the self-efficacy, communication competency, and critical thinking disposition of nursing students.

  • In this study, we set the occupational satisfaction and communication ability of clinical dental hygienists as the main variables, and investigated the factors that affect communication within the organization to improve the work of dental hygienists. Self-reporting questionnaires were administered to 200 dental hygienists working in dental hospitals and dental clinics in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from May 18, 2019 to June 12, 2019. We analyzed the data with Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The significance level was set at 0.05. Research results: Job satisfaction (r=0.193, p<0.05) and communication ability (r=0.404, p<.001) showed a significant positive correlation with intra-organizational communication, and individual communication ability (β=0.461, P<.001), which was found to have a significant effect on communication within this organization. Therefore, in order to improve the communication skills of dental hygienists, they should be proud of their work as professionals, enhance their job satisfaction, and be able to have a clear expression of their own intentions and effective dialogue. Efforts should be made to provide opportunities such as opening related lectures during internal education and maintenance education.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of critical thinking disposition and communication competence on the problem-solving confidence satisfaction of nursing students. The data was collected using questionnaires completed by 215 nursing students in G city from November 1 to November 30, 2019. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 22.0. The data analysis showed that the mean score for critical thinking disposition was 3.69±0.37, communication competence 3.72±0.46, and problem-solving confidence 3.56±0.41. There was a significant positive correlation between critical thinking disposition and communication competence (r=.588, p<.001). critical thinking disposition and problem-solving confidence (r=.462, p<.001), communication competence, and problem-solving confidence (r=.255, p<.001). As per the regression analysis, the factors that affect problem-solving confidence were academic achievement, critical thinking disposition, the motive for selecting nursing science, and gender with an explanatory power of about 33.8%. Conclusions: This study showed that problem-solving confidence correlated with critical thinking disposition and communication competence. Therefore, to increase the critical thinking disposition and communication competence and thus enhance the problem-solving confidence of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply appropriate teaching methods and non-contact education programs.

  • This study was a descriptive research study targeting medical students to determine the impact of self-directed learning ability, self-regulated learning, and communication ability on self-efficacy in performing medical treatment. This study randomly selected medical students from Region J, located in Province G, as the approximate population, and a total of 125 copies were finally analyzed. Descriptive statistics were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS/25. Self-efficacy in performing medical treatment was related to self-directed learning ability (r=.61, p<.001), self-regulated learning (r=.50, p<.001), and communication ability (r=.33, p<.001). There was a positive correlation with all of them. As a result of analyzing the variables that affect the subject's self-efficacy in performing medical treatment using hierarchical multiple regression, self-directed learning ability was found to be the factor that best predicts self-efficacy in performing medical treatment, followed by self-regulated learning and communication ability. The total explanatory power was 46.6%. Acquiring specialized knowledge and becoming a doctor after graduation through clinical practice and acquiring the basic clinical practice skills necessary to successfully perform one's duties are important tasks that medical students must accomplish. Therefore, in order to improve medical students' self-efficacy in performing medical treatment, the importance of improving health care, major satisfaction, and life satisfaction must be recognized and managed. In addition, efforts to develop programs and improve systematic systems that can improve self-directed learning, self-regulated learning, and communication skills should also be supported.

The purpose of this study was identify the effects of High fidelity simulation-based education on communication ability, learning self-efficacy and clinical reasoning of nursing students. The subjects were 84 nursing students who were enrolled in the senior who had received simulation training using dysphagia patient care scenario. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0. As a result, There was a statistically significant difference in the communication ability, learning self-efficacy, clinical reasoning. And the mean score of simulation effectiveness is 2.64 points (a perfect score of three). Therefore, In order to improve the communication ability, learning self-efficacy and clinical reasoning of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply realistic scenarios that reflect various clinical situations.
