The purpose of this study is to critically review recent discourse on aging appeared in Korean newspapers. For this purpose, 1,725 articles on 'aging' or 'elderly' appeared on three major Korean newspapers during 1997- 2006 are analyzed. It is shown that there is a recent surge of articles portraying the positive images of aging in Korean newspapers emphasizing the importance of productive, successful aging and active life style of the elderly. This trend is a welcomed change from the negative images of elderly as dependent burden of society. However, it seems that over emphasis on positive aging and 'New Elderly' might have created another stereotype about the elderly and unintentionally marginalize the certain group of the elderly. By focusing on individual responsibility, it also overlooked the constraints imposed by social structure on disadvantaged elderly group, such as women, elderly in low socio-economic strata. Theoretical and policy implications of this trends are discussed.

Lately, national hygiene & medical environment and its demand aspect have been rapidly changing, and market opening of hygiene and medical sector is accelerating. Due to the change in labor resulting from the wide range of change in industrial structure and the steady decrease in university applicants, most of colleges and universities have been strongly urged to establish hygiene medical manpower training courses or relative courses, which leaves the medical technician training courses in 4 year universities on the robust increase. Consequently, the medical technicians, graduating from 3 year colleges without bachelor's degree due to shortage of 20 credits for acquisition of degree, have had to compete with the graduates from 4 year universities and the bachelor's degree has been in continuous demand for the medical technicians of 3 year college. In the research for recognition of Credit Bank System prevalent across the colleges, enabling the systematic acquisition of bachelor's degree, 60.9% among the respondents are aware of Credit Bank System, and 46.9% are aware that Advanced Major Course is induced in the near future. Hence, there shall be active promotions of various programs allowing acquisition of bachelor's degree in the colleges. The social change in recognition of colleges by inducement of the two programs may authorize the college to have the scholastic attainments equivalent to the 4 year university, and the political initiative shall be deliberated across over the government and the academic world.

With rapid growth of information and computer communication technologies, the numbers of digital documents including multimedia data have been recently exploded. In particular, news video database and news video mining have became the subject of extensive research, to develop effective and efficient tools for manipulation and analysis of news videos, because of their information richness. However, many research focus on browsing, retrieval and summarization of news videos. Up to date, it is a relatively early state to discover and to analyse the plentiful latent semantic knowledge from news videos. In this paper, we propose the news video mining system based on multi-modal approach and text mining, which uses the visual-textual information of news video clips and their scripts. The proposed system systematically constructs a taxonomy of news video stories in automatic manner with hierarchical clustering algorithm which is one of text mining methods. Then, it multilaterally analyzes the topics of news video stories by means of time-cluster trend graph, weighted cluster growth index, and network analysis. To clarify the validity of our approach, we analyzed the news videos on "The Second Summit of South and North Korea in 2007".

This study evaluated the various qualifications that can be linked to employment similar to the medical laboratory technology major. The qualifications for employment outside the medical laboratory technology major are industrial health instructor, doping control officer, audiologist, sign language interpreter, health education specialist, claim adjuster, Korea life underwriter, administrative manager, hospital administrator, insurance review manager, and hospital coordinator. The qualifications for employment similar to the medical laboratory technology major include the clinical research coordinator, clinical research associate, anatomist, analytical chemistry analysts, hazardous materials industry engineers, biotechnologist, biosafety managers, biotechnology technicians, medical device quality officers, animal care nurse, industrial engineer hazardous material, bioprocess engineer, biosafety officer, certified technology consultant, director of medical device quality control, laboratory animal technician, animal nursing technician, and cruise medical manager. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a social analysis survey of the various qualifications currently held by medical technologists. In addition, it will be necessary to investigate the current status of medical technologists working in other fields. In the future, medical technologists should expand the scope of their work through efforts to strengthen their individual work capacity, share cases, and strengthen their expertise.

This study aims to analyze online news articles to identify social issues related to patient safety and compare the changes in these issues before and after the implementation of the Patient Safety Act. This study performed text mining through the R program, wherein 7,600 online news articles were collected from January 1, 2010, to March 5, 2020, and examined using keyword analysis, topic modeling, and word co-occurrence network analysis. A total of 2,609 keywords were categorized into 8 topics: "medical practice", "medical personnel", "infection and facilities", "comprehensive nursing service", "medicine and medical supplies", "system development and establishment for improvement", "Patient Safety Act" and "healthcare accreditation". The study revealed that keywords such as "patient safety awareness", "infection control" and "healthcare accreditation" appeared before the implementation of the Patient Safety Act. Meanwhile, keywords such as "patient safety culture". and "administration and injection" appeared after the act's implementation with improved ranking of importance pertaining to nursing-related terminology. Interest in patient safety has increased in the medical community as well as among the public. In particular, nursing plays an important role in improving patient safety. Therefore, the recognition of patient safety as a core competency of nursing and the persistent education of the public are vital and inevitable.

Asia is developing rapidly in 21st century. Human and material exchanges between Korea and Asian countries have greatly increased. Korea entered the multicultural society. It became important for Korean people to understand Asia more correctively. Korean media can play a key role for this. In this point, I analyzed 1786 news contents reported in 2011 by four Korean newspapers(Chosun Ilbo, Dong-A Ilbo, Hankyoreh newspaper, Kyungh Kyunghyang Daily News), to see differences of Asia and West news aspect and its reason, focusing on news topic, amount of news, news tone and foreign media sources. In amount of news, the percent of West(54.3%) was higher than that of Asia news(45.7%). In news tone, negative news were the most in Asia news, but the least in West news. Korean newspaper showed more positive attitude to West than Asia. 1786 news were classified into seven topics(morality and justice, politics, economics and science, society, diplomacy and national defense, human interest, people). In news amount of seven topics, Korean newspapers reported hard news like morality and justice more than soft news like human interest about Asia. However they reported many soft news about West besides hard news. In news topics and tone, hard news showed negative tone most and soft news showed neutral or positive tone most. As a result, Korean news showed the negative attitude to Asia and the positive to West. Among five main sources(media, government, private organization, individual and material), only media source affected the differences of news attitude to Asia and West. Asia media source took the more positive attitude to Asia than West. West media took the negative attitude to Asia most and the neutral attitude to West most. Korean newspapers used West media as main sources in the news of all areas except East Asia. As a result, Korean newspapers showed the West-centered-attitude and reported the negative news more than neutral and positive about Asia. It was suggested that Korean newspapers had better increase Asia news in diverse spheres by the direct reporting of the correspondent and the more use of Asia media through the internet.

본 연구에서는 한국어 전자사전 DECO(Dictionnaire Electronique du COreen)와 다단어(Multi-Word Expressions: MWE) 개체명을 부분 패턴으로 기술하는 부분문법그래프(Local-Grammar Graph: LGG) 프레임에 기반하여 반자동으로 개체명주석 코퍼스 DecoNAC을 구축한 후, 이를 개체명 분석에 활용하고 또한 기계학습에 필요한 도메인별 학습 데이터로 활용하는 DecoNERO 개체명인식 플랫폼을 소개하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 최근 들어 좋은 성과를 보이는 것으로 보고되고 있는 기계학습 방법론들은 다양한 도메인을 기반으로한 대규모의 학습데이터를 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 정교하게 설계된 개체명 사전과 다단어 개체명 시퀀스에 대한 언어자원을 바탕으로 하는 반자동으로 학습데이터를 생성하는 방법론을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안된 개체명주석 코퍼스 DecoNAC 기반 접근법의 성능을 실험하기 위해 온라인 뉴스 기사 텍스트를 바탕으로 실험을 진행하였다. 이 실험에서 DecoNAC을 적용한 경우, KoBERT 모델만으로 개체명을 인식한 결과에 비해 약 7.49%의 성능향상을 기대할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

남미의 페루연안에서 적도에 이르는 태평양상의 수온이 2$\~$6년 주기로 올라가 세계 각지에 홍수, 가뭄, 폭설 등을 몰고 다닌다는 기상이변의 주범인 엘니뇨 현상은 과연 우리나라는 안전지대인가? 그렇다면 지난한해동안 논란이 계속돼온 엘니뇨 현상이 과연 올해에는 우리나라 농업에 어떤 영향을 미칠것인가는 모든이의 궁금 사하이 아닐 수 없다. 물론 기사이변을 예측하는데는 고도의 과학적 자료와 분석능력이 뒷따라야 하기 때문에 쉽게 접근할 수 없다는 어려움이 있다. 그러나 농림부는 그동안 각종 자료를 꾸준히 분석하여 엘니뇨 발생에 따른 병 해충 발생양상을 예견해 보고 이에 대비한 영농대책을 마련, 시행에 만전을 기하고 있다. 농림부는 어떤 예측을 하고있으며 그에 따른 대책은 무엇인가에 대해 알아본다.

We developed a time comparison system using the ranging signal of the geostationary meteorological satellite(GMS). By using the system time comparison between the KRISS(Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science) cesium atomic clock and the GMS ranging signal has been carried out and the results have shown that the precision of time comparison at KRISS is about 10 ns. For the more accurate measurements we calibrated the receiver delay time between KRISS receiver and CRL(Communications Research Laboratory) receiver by using the portable GMS receiver.
