EXPERIMENTAL ESOPHAGEAL INJURY WITH DISC BATTERY (수은전지에 의한 식도손상)

  • 최근 수은전지의 사용이 증가함에 따라 이에 의한 식도이물의 가능성도 증가하게 되었다. 저자는 수은전지에 의한 식도손상을 관찰하기 위하여 가토(1.7kg~2.5kg)에서 수은전지(충전된 전지, 방전된 전지)와 같은 모양, 크기의 철판(대조군)을 상절치에서 약 15cm되는 식도에 삽입 후 시간별로(1, 3, 6, 12, 24시간)육안적, 조직학적 관찰을 하였다. 충전된 전지를 삽입한 군에서는 삽입 후 1시간부터 식도손상을 보였고 시간경과에 따라 그 정도가 심해졌으며, 방전된 전지를 삽입한 군에서는 삽입후 3시간부터 식도손상을 보였고 시간 경과에 따라 그 정도가 심해졌으나 충전된 전지군에 비하여는 경한 손상을 보였으며, 대조군에서는 삽입 후 24시간까지 손상을 보이지 않았다. 따라서 수은전지에 의한 식도이물은 조기에 심한 식도손상을 초래하므로 가능한 한 신속히 제거해야 할 것으로 생각된다.

Effects of Depth and Duration of Water-logging on Growth and Yield at Transplanting and Flowering Stage in Pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) (고추(Capsicum annuum L.)의 이식기(移植期) 및 개화기(開化期) 침수처리(浸水處理) 따른 생육반응(生育反應))

  • Pepper plants were water-logged at 0, 5, 10 and 15 cm at transplanting and flowering stages under the condition of greenhouse. Treatment of water-logging times were 6, 12, 24, 48 and 120 hours. The results obtained are summarized as follows. At the transplanting stage, plant height, number of leaves, shoot and root fresh weight decreased by water-logging at 0cm for 24 hours and at 5cm or more for 6 hours. Number of fallen leaf was negligible by 12 hours water-logging at 0cm, however, its increased by more increased the water-logging depth and time. Diffusion resistance and chlorophyll content of leaf, and root activity decreased at more than 24 hours of water-logging regardless of the water-logging depth treatments. Photosynthesis and respiration rate diminished by increased the water-logging depth at 120 hours water-logging treatment. Plant diseases, mainly anthracnose(Colletotrichum) occurred in proportion to increase the depth and time of water-logging. It was not possible to control the diseases by fungicides. At the treatment of foliar spray of urea for recovery to water-logging damage, the efficiency was not found on plant height, but the number of leaves. Number of fruit and weight of fruit per plant showed no difference from no water-logging to 24 hours water-logging at 0cm, but its decreased that more than 24 hours water-logging at 0cm and more than 6 hours water-logging at 5cm or more. The averaged weight of a fruit on survival plants increased by more hours and deeper water-logging. There was positive correlation between all the investigated characteristics of growth and yield. There was, however, negative correlation between the characteristics and diffusion resistance of leaf stomata. The correlation between number of fallen leaf and averaged weight of a fruit was not significant. At flowering stage, number of fruit and weight of fruit per plant showed a similar tendency to no water-logging and by 12 hours water-logging at 0cm and 5cm, but significantly decreased at more than 24 hours water-logging from 0 to 5cm, and more than 6 hours water-logging at 10cm or more. The averaged weight of a fruit on survival plants increased by more hours and deeper water-logging except for 120 hours water-logging at all water depths.

  • Boiling is an efficient removal method to reduce radon in groundwater when ventilating indoor air. 13 groundwater samples with various radon concentrations were used to evaluate the reduction rate of radon with heating temperature and time. The groundwater samples were obtained by Bladder pump and on-situ measurements such as dissolved oxygen (DO) and hydrogen concentration (pH) and so on were carried out by a flow cell system isolated from the ambient atmosphere environment. All samples for measuring radon in groundwater were analyzed by liquid scintillation counter (LSC). The experiment result showed that increasing groundwater temperature enhanced radon removal rate but the initial radon concentration with high level lowered the removal rate. This means that radon reduction in groundwater by heating needs more heating energy and longer heating time with radon concentrations. Radon removal rate in groundwater, therefore, mainly depends on the initial radon concentration, heating temperature, and heating time.

Time-lapse Inversion of 3D Resistivity Monitoring Data (3차원 전기비저항 모니터링 자료의 시간경과 역산)

  • We developed a time-lapse inversion using new cross-model constraints based on change ratio and resolution of model parameters. The cross-model constraint based on change ratio imposes the same penalty on the model parameters with equal change ratio. This constraint can emphasize the model parameters with significant change regardless of their increase or decrease. The resolution cross-model constraint imposes a small penalty on the model parameters with poor resolution, but a large penalty on the model parameters with good resolution. Thus, the model parameter with poor resolution can be effectively identified in the inversion result if they are significantly changed with time. Through the numerical tests for 3D resistivity monitoring data sets, the performance of these two cross-model constraints was confirmed. Finally, for the safety estimation of a sea dyke, we applied the developed time-lapse inversion to the 3D resistivity monitoring data that were acquired at a sea dike located in western coastal area of Korea. The result of time-lapse inversion suggested that there were no significant changes at the sea dike during the monitoring period.

The Effects of Hiking Poles and Steady Walking Time on Up-hill Walking (폴 사용 여부와 걷는 지속시간 경과가 오르막 걷기에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze differences of 45minutes up-hill walking depending on hiking poles and steady walking time. Seven healthy men volunteered for this experiment. Each of them performed up-hill walking with hiking poles and without hiking poles at speed of 3.5km/h during 45minutes on a treadmill. The treadmill was set 25% up-hill inclination. The lower extremity 4 muscles activity including rectus femoris, tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius, biceps femoris was recorded and assessed by using EMG. And Heart rate(HR) and Rating of perceived exertion(RPE) were recorded and analyzed by 15minutes interval. The statistical analysis was two-way ANOVA with repeated measures to compare effects of hiking poles and steady walking time. The level of statistical significance for all tests was P<.05. The results of this study were following : Integrated EMG about four individual muscles doesn't have statistical significancy. However, the sum of IEMG of the four muscles was decreased some with poles than without poles(p<.0l) and IEMG about four muscles was rut different on steady walking time. Second, HR was increased significantly as time up(P<.01). RPE was decreased some with poles than without poles(P<.05) and RPE was increased significantly as time up(P<.01).

Sensory and Instrumental Texture Properties of Rice Cakes According to the Addition of Songpy(pine tree endodermis) or Mosipul(china grass leaves) (송피 및 모시풀 첨가에 의한 떡의 관능적, 기계적 텍스쳐 특성 변화)

  • Effects of pine tree(Pinus densiflora) endodermis or china grass leaves(Boehmeria nipponivea) on textural or sensory quality of rice cake were investigated. Rice cakes prepared with the addition of pine tree endodermis or china grass leaves were not remarkably decreased in moisture content during storage. Degree of gelatinization was shown the highest value in the samples 17.28% of pine tree endodermis or china grass leaves added. As a result of the sensory evaluation for the rice cakes, consistency, moistness and cohesiveness were gradually improved with the increase of pine tree endodermis or china grass leaves addition amount. The overall quality was most preferable in the rice cakes prepared with 17.28% of pine tree endodermis or china grass leaves. The detrimental changes were occured in textural quality of the all rice cake samples during storage. Textural quality of rice cakes was higher in pine tree endodermis or china grass leaves addition samples than that of control group. In the texturometer test, hardeness and chewiness decreased in pine tree endodermis or china grass leaves addition samples where as gumminess increased these samples compare to control group.

  • The mechanical models representing the theological property of traditional Korean noodles; i.e. wheat flour noodle and wheat-sweet potato starch noddle, were investigated from the data obtained by creep and creep recovery test using a tensile tester. The rheological behavior of the noodle products could be expressed by the 6-elements Voigt model. The instantaneous elasticity, retarded elasticity, retardation time, retarded viscosity and Newtonian viscosity of the noodle products were evaluated. With the increasing cooking time, 4-elements Burger's model was applicable to represent the mechanical behavior of wheat-sweet potato starch noodle.

  • 마이크로웨이브 플라즈마 화학기상증착(MPCVD) 시스템을 이용하여 실리콘 웨이퍼 위에 나노결정질 다이아몬드 박막을 증착하였다. 공정압력, 마이크로웨이브 전력, Ar/$CH_4$ 조성비를 일정하게 놓고 기판온도를 $400^{\circ}C$$600^{\circ}C$, 증착시간을 0.5, 1, 4시간으로 변화시켜 박막의 성장 과정을 관찰하였다. 성장 초기에 약 30 nm 크기의 나노 결정립으로 이루어진 구형 입자가 형성되어 시간의 경과에 따라 입자들이 성장하고 4시간 이후에는 입자들이 서로 붙어 완전한 박막을 형성함을 관찰하였다. 같은 증착시간에서 기판온도가 $400^{\circ}C$에서 $600^{\circ}C$로 증가함에 따라 다이아몬드 입자의 크기가 증가하였다. 시간의 경과에 따라 기판 위에서 입자들이 차지하는 면적의 비율은 증가하였다.

Evaluation of Blank Heating Processes by Thermal Stress Analysis (열응력 해석에 의한 블랭크 단조품 가열공정 평가)

  • This study was performed to evaluate a newly proposed heating process of blank, which was used for Crank throw in the diesel engine, and provide design guidelines of heating processes. Non-linear numerical analyses were done using ANSYS program to investigate temperature and thermal stress distributions of blank during heating processes. The heating process consists of two stages; one is a heating stage with 20 hours, and the other is a holding stage with 12 hours, totaling 32-hour heating time. Based on analysis results, it was found that the temperature difference between the center and the surface of blank increased linearly during the heating stage but decreased gradually during the holding stage of heating processes, while max. equivalent stress, $12.5kg/mm^2$, was found at the center of blank after 10-hour heating time. As the guideline of blank heating process, it was recommended to keep the temperature difference between the center and the surface of blank to be within $150^{\circ}C$ when the environment temperature in furnace reaches $650^{\circ}C$ during a heating stage.

Time-lapse inversion of resistivity tomography monitoring data around a tunnel (터널 주변 전기비저항 토모그래피 모니터링 자료의 시간경과 역산)

  • Resistivity tomography is very effective geophysical method to find out the resistivity distribution and its change in time around a tunnel. Thus, the resistivity tomogram can provide helpful information which is necessary for the effective maintenance of the tunnel. However, an air filled tunnel severely distorts tomography data, especially when the current or potential electrode is placed near the tunnel. Moreover, the distortion can often lead to misinterpretation of tomography monitoring data. To solve these problem, we developed a resistivity modeling and time-lapse inversion program which include a tunnel. In this study, using the developed program we assured that the inversion including a tunnel gives much more accurate image around a tunnel, compared with the conventional tomogram where the tunnel is not included. We also confirmed that the time-lapse inversion of resistivity monitoring data defines well resistivity changed areas around a tunnel in time.
