Detection of Gradual Scene Boundaries with Linear and Circular Moving Borders (선형 및 원형의 이동경계선을 가지는 점진적 장면경계 추출)

  • This paper proposes a detection method of wipes including horizontal wipes with linear moving borders, such as horizontal or vertical wipes, Barn Doors, and Iris Rounds with circular moving borders. The suggested method first obtains a difference image between two adjacent frames, and extracts lines and circles by applying Hough transformation to the extracted difference image. Then, we detect wipe transitions by employing an evaluation function that analyzes the number of moving trajectories of lines or circles, their moving direction and magnitude. To evaluate the performance of the suggested algorithm, experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively detect wipe transitions with linear and circular moving borders rather than some existing methods.

  • 제3세대 이동 통신 시스템에서 상향 링크와 하향 링크 사이에 불균형적인 타임 슬롯 할당이 가능한 TD/CDMA TDD 시스템은 비대칭적인 트래픽을 효과적으로 분배하는데 적합하다. 게다가 TD/CDMA TDD 시스템은 슬롯이 시간 영역과 코드 영역에서 정의되기 때문에 유효 자원의 statistical multiplexing이 매우 효과적이다. 그러나 상향 링크와 하향 링크사이의 트래픽의 비대칭성을 반영하기 위해서 타임 슬롯을 최적으로 할당시킬 수 있는 동적 경계선이 요구된다. 본 논문에서 슬롯의 하향 링크부분이 이동국의 접근 시도의 정도에 따라 최대화되는 새로운 최적의 TDD 경계선 제어 움직임 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘에서 이동국의 평균 접근 시도가 미리 정의된 상한 임계치를 초과할 경우, TDD 경계선은 평균 접근 시도가 다른 하한 임계치 아래로 내려갈 때까지 프레임의 중앙에 위치한다. 본 논문에서 모의실험 결과를 통하여 제안된 알고리즘이 기존의 TDD 경계선 알고리즘보다 데이터 트래픽의 평균 접근 지연과 음성 트래픽의 블록킹 확률 측면에서 훨씬 더 좋은 성능을 나타냄을 입증하였다.

  • TPR-tree는 이동체의 위치 데이터에 대해 현재 및 미래 위치 질의를 지원하기 위하여 시간 함수 기반의 경계사각형(Sounding Rectangle)으로 이동체를 색인한다. 경계사각형의 각 축은 가장 빠른 속도로 이동하는 이동체의 속도 값을 이용하여 시간에 따라 확장한다. 경계사각형 영역의 확장으로 중복(overlap)이 심화되고 사장영역(dead space)이 커지는 문제가 있다. 따라서 시간이 지날수록 영역질의 시 성능이 떨어진다. 이 논문에서는 시간이 지남에 따라 발생하는 노드간의 심한 중복과 사장영역을 줄이기 위해 중복이 심한 두 개의 단말노드를 강제 합병하고 재분할하는 강제 합병 정책과 이동체의 삭제가 발생한 노드의 모든 이동체들을 강제적으로 재삽입하는 삭제노드 강제 재삽입 정책과 삭제가 발생한 노드와 중복되는 노드들의 이동체들을 강제적으로 재삽입하는 중복 노드 강제 재삽입 정책을 이용한다. 강제 합병 정책과 삭제 노드 강제 재삽입 정책, 그리고 중복 노드 강제 재삽입은 TPR-tree의 구조를 점진적으로 재구성하기 때문에 이동체의 현재 분포를 고려하여 색인 구조를 동적으로 개선하는 장점을 가진다.

Moving Object Contour Detection Using Spatio-Temporal Edge with a Fixed Camera (고정 카메라에서의 시공간적 경계 정보를 이용한 이동 객체 윤곽선 검출 방법)

  • In this paper, we propose a new method for detection moving object contour using spatial and temporal edge. In general, contour pixels of the moving object are likely present around pixels with high gradient value along the time axis and the spatial axis. Therefore, we can detect the contour of the moving objects by finding pixels which have high gradient value in the time axis and spatial axis. In this paper, we introduce a new computation method, termed as temporal edge, to compute an gradient value along the time axis for any pixel on an image. The temporal edge can be computed using two input gray images at time t and t-2 using the Sobel operator. Temporal edge is utilized to detect a candidate region of the moving object contour and then the detected candidate region is used to extract spatial edge information. The final contour of the moving object is detected using the combination of these two edge information, which are temporal edge and spatial edge, and then the post processing such as a morphological operation and a background edge removing procedure are applied to remove noise regions. The complexity of the proposed method is very low because it dose not use any background scene and high complex operation, therefore it can be applied to real-time applications. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the conventional contour extraction methods in term of processing effort and a ghost effect which is occurred in the case of entropy method.

Boundary Extraction of Moving Objects using Moving Edge and Heuristic Search (이동에지와 휴리스틱 탐색을 이용한 움직이는 물체의 경계추출)

  • We present a method of boundary extraction of moving objects. We propose four methods for detecting moving edge pixels which can be located on the boundaries of moving objects. We select the best one after we test the above four methods to real image sequences. The portion of the boundaries of moving objects which is marked as moving edge pixels is searched along the moving edge pixels with simple heuristics. And the end points of the resultant line segments are utilized as the start points of the secon stage heuristic search. This second stage search is performed for the boundaries of moving objects which is not marked as moving edge pixels due to various reasons. We test our algorithm for two real sequences and we find that this simple algorithm has good performance.

Detection of Special Effects with Circular Moving Borders (원형의 이동 경계선을 가지는 특수효과 검출)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to detect Iris Round wipe transitions with circular moving borders in digital video data. The suggested method robustly extracts circular moving borders from the input image using improved Hough transform, and finally detects Iris Round wipes by effectively analyzing their moving directions and shapes. In order to evaluate the performance of the suggested algorithm, the experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively detect Iris Rounds with circular moving borders in various video data.

  • 일반적으로 물체의 거동을 해석하기 위해 고체영역에서는 Lagrangian 기법이 유체영역에서는 Eulerian 기법이 수치해석에 적용된다. Lagranian 기법은 서로 다른 물질의 경계와 자유표면에 대한 거동을 쉽게 추적할 수 있는 반면 물체의 대변형시 해석의 정확성이 떨어지는 단점이 있다. 또한 Eulerian 기법은 물질이동만을 고려하여 변형의 제한이 없는 장점을 가지고 있지만 이동하는 경계에 대해서 조건을 변화 시켜야하는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 이 두기법의 장단점을 서로 보안하기 위해 ALE(Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian)기법이 제안되었으며 이를 적용한 유체-구조물의 상호작용 해석에 대하여 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 ALE기법을 이용한 자유경계면에 대한 새로운 알고리즘이 제안된다.

Monitoring of Seawater Intrusion in Unconfined Physical Aquifer Model using Time Domain Reflectometry (자유면 대수층 모형에서의 TIME DOMAIN REFLECTOMETRY를 이용한 해수침투 모니터링)

  • In this study, a phenomenon of saltwater intrusion was monitored under various conditions regarding recharge and pumping rate using time domain reflectometry for a laboratory scale unconfined aquifer to verify the basic theory behind seawater intrusion and to investigate movement of salt-freshwater interface in accordance with the ratio of pumping and recharge rate. Results showed that a thick mixing zone was formed at the boundary instead of a sharp salt-freshwater interface that was assumed by Ghyben and Herzberg who derived an equation relating the water table depth $(H_f)$ to the depth to the interface $(H_s)$. Therefore our experimental results did not agree with the calculated values obtained from the Ghyben and Herzberg equation. Position of interface which was adopted as 0.5 g/L isochlor moved rapidly as the Pumping rate $(Q_p)$ increased for a given recharge rate $(Q_r)$. In addition, interface movement was found to be about 7 times the ratio of $Q_p/Q_r$ in our experimental condition. This indicates that Pumping rate becomes an important factor controlling the seawater intrusion in coastal aquifer.

A Finite Element Hydrodynamic Model far Moving Boundary Problems (이동경계를 고려한 유한요소 해수류동모형)

  • It has been conventional to treat the land boundary as a fixed one in numerical modeling of tidal flows, particularly in the finite element scheme. However conventional models using the fixed land boundary result in unrealistic tidal flows in inter-tidal zones which exist over wide coastal area in Korea. In this study, a 2-dimensional hydrodynamic model, using finite element method for moving boundary problems was developed. The performance of the model was tested in a rectangular channel with an open boundary at one end and a moving boundary at the other end. The model was applied to calculate the tidal currents in Maro Hae, located in the southwestern part of Korea where wide tidal flats develop. The behavior of tidal currents in the Udolmok and near the tidal flats in the study area was satisfactory when compared with the observed data. Variation of tidal currents due to the construction of Kochunam sea-dyke which barrages large area of tidal flat was presented. The results of this study confirm the efficiency of moving boundary treatment in coastal numerical models.

  • The expansion of 1D numerical code to 2D or 3D is needed in order to improve the analysis accuracy of the interior ballistics. The cut cell method has been imposed for the code expansion to multi dimensions. The MUSCL-Hancock scheme as a high resolution method has been selected. A feasibility of the cut cell method has been verified by analyzing the free piston problem.
