Introduction to Current Status and Researches for Rock Engineering of Finnish Geological Disposal of Spent Fuel (핀란드의 사용후핵연료 지층처분 현황 및 암반공학 관련 연구소개)

  • This technical note describes the current status of Finnish radioactive waste disposal project which started to construct the repository for spent nuclear waste for the first time in the world. Finland started operating nuclear power plant in 1977 and is currently operating four nuclear power plants. After detailed site surveys started in 1993, Olkiluoto was finally selected by the parliament of Finland as the site for geological disposal in 2001 followed by a construction license in 2015. If the operating license is approved by the government in the 2020s, it would be the world's first case of geological disposal. In ONKALO, a site-specific underground research facility at the site of Olkiluoto, various studies were conducted to verify the safety of the repository. Finland uses the KBS-3 disposal concept, and Korea considers a similar disposal concept because of similar rock formations. The entire process in Finland including the operation status of intermediate and low-level waste disposal, site investigation and selection stages, and the latest rock mechanics and hydrogeological studies in ONKALO are presented. Suggestions for the radioactive waste disposal in Korea is given based on the Finnish case.

Data-driven Co-Design Process for New Product Development: A Case Study on Smart Heating Jacket (신제품 개발을 위한 데이터 기반 공동 디자인 프로세스: 스마트 난방복 사례 연구)

  • This research suggests a design process that effectively complements the human-centered design through an objective data-driven approach. The subjective human-centered design process can often lack objectivity and can be supplemented by the data-driven approaches to effectively discover hidden user needs. This research combines the data mining analysis with co-design process and verifies its applicability through the case study on the smart heating jacket. In the data mining process, the clustering can group the users which is the basis for selecting the target groups and the decision tree analysis primarily identifies the important user perception attributes and values. The broad point of view based on the data analysis is modified through the co-design process which is the deeper human-centered design process by using the developed workbook. In the co-design process, the journey maps, needs and pain points, ideas, values for the target user groups are identified and finalized. They can become the basis for starting new product development.

Low-Temperature Characteristics of Type 4 Composite Pressure Vessel Liner according to Rotational Molding Temperature (타입 4 복합재 압력용기 라이너의 회전 성형 온도에 따른 저온 특성)

  • Low-temperature characteristics according to internal temperature conditions during rotational molding of Type 4 pressure vessel liners were studied in this paper. Since rotational molding has a sensitive effect on the formability of the liner depending on the temperature conditions, the temperature conditions for the polyamide used should be accurately set. The structural changes of polyamide as the liner material was analyzed the surface by atomic force microscope (AFM), and the crystallinity measured with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) is used to evaluate the change of the mechanical strength value at low temperature. In addition, the formability of the liner was confirmed by observation of the yellow index inside the liner. As a result, as the melting range of the internal temperature becomes wider, the yellow index shows a lower value, and the elongation and impact characteristics at low temperatures are improved. It was also confirmed that the structure of the polyamide was uniform and the crystallinity was high by AFM and DSC. These experimental results contribute to the improvement of characteristics at low temperatures due to changes in temperature conditions during rotational molding.

The Effect of the Gambler's Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction on Gambling Behavior: The Dual Mediating Effects of General Motivation and Mattering (도박이용자의 기본심리욕구 만족이 도박행동에 미치는 영향: 일반 동기와 대인존재감의 이중매개효과)

  • In order to examine the variables affecting gambling behavior and find intervention strategies, this study examined the effects of basic psychological needs satisfaction on the severity of gambling behavior and low-level gambling behavior through the general motivation level and mattering respectively. Self-reported data of 402 adults who have participated in gambling at least once in the last 3 months were analyzed, and dual-mediator model was conducted. Basic psychological needs satisfaction significantly contributed to gambling behavior severity through general motivation and mattering. Specifically, basic psychological needs satisfaction had a significant positive effect on mattering through general motivation. and mattering through this path had a significant negative effect on gambling behavior severity. On the other hand, basic psychological needs satisfaction had a significant negative effect on low-level gambling behavior, but the dual mediating effect of general motivation and mattering was not significant in this relationship. Based on these results, the theoretical implications on the effects of the general motivation and interpersonal presence on gambling behavior were proposed, study limitations and suggestions for future research were discussed.

  • The international standard to determine grounding conductor size can be applied for a wide range of items because it includes the specific physical characteristics, but it has a problem where the numerical formula is complicated. However the JIS and domestic standard numerical formula are simple but have many constraints. The new grounding conductor size selecting method is necessary in order to solve such problems. Therefore, in this study, we suggested an improved method for selecting the grounding conductor size and simple numerical formula with a numerical formula control modeling. and we verified reliability of paper used case study.

  • 본 논문에서는 제작된 콘텐츠에 배경음을 간편하고 효과적으로 혼합하기 위해서 녹음된 신호(전경음)를 분석하여 배경음 에너지를 적응적으로 조절하는 배경음혼합 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이를 위해, 제안된 알고리즘은 등청감 곡선 (equal-loudness curve) 및 linear prediction (LP) 분석에 기반하여 전경음신호의 청감 에너지 및 음성신호 존재여부를 결정한다. 이에 따라 전경음에 음성신호가 존재하는 경우에는 음성이 명확하게 들릴 수 있도록 혼합된 배경음의 에너지를 하향 조절하고, 반대로 전경음에 음성신호가 존재하지 않는 경우에는 배경음이 명확하게 들릴 수 있도록 혼합된 배경음의 에너지를 상향 조절한다. 제안된 알고리즘의 효율성을 검증하기 위해, 고정 가중치를 이용하여 배경음을 혼합하는 경우와의 음질 선호도 조사를 실시한 결과, 제안된 알고리즘에 대한 높은 선호도를 보였다.

The relationship between the habits of a currently used system and the acceptance of a new system (기존 시스템 사용 습관과 새로운 시스템 수용과의 관계)

  • 새로운 시스템의 수용은 대부분의 경우 유용성이나 사용용이성과 같은 이성적인 평가와 함께 기존 시스템 사용에 대한 무의식적인 습관에 따라 결정된다. 흥미롭게도 기존 시스템에 대한 습관의 효과는 상이한 방향을 가질 수 있다. 어떤 경우에는 전환비용 때문에 부정적이 될 수도 있지만 어떤 경우에는 현 시스템에 대한 풍부한 경험 때문에 긍정적인 효과를 보일 수도 있다. 본 연구에서는 기존 시스템에 대한 습관과 새로운 시스템에 대한 판단 간의 관계가 새로운 시스템에 대한 직접 경험에 따라 달라질 수 있음을 가설로 제시하였다. 즉, 새로운 시스템에 대한 경험이 없으면 부정적인 관계가 되겠지만 경험이 있는 경우에는 긍정적인 관계가 될 수도 있다. 이 가설들에 대한 타당성을 보여 주기 위해 168명의 우리나라 대학생들을 대상으로 실증적 검증을 하였다. 수용 대상은 구글 닥스(Google Docs) 이었고 조사에 참여한 학생들은 이전에 구글 닥스에 대한 경험을 가지고 있지 않았다. 조사 참여자 전부에게 구글 닥스에 대한 특성을 설명한 뒤 임의로 두 그룹으로 나눈 다음 한 그룹은 구글 닥스를 실제 사용할 기회를 주었고 다른 그룹에게는 주지 않았다. 결과적으로 경험을 한 그룹은 기존 시스템에 대한 습관과 새로운 시스템에 대한 주관적 판단 간에 부정적인 관계를 보인 반면 경험이 없는 그룹은 긍정적인 관계를 보였다.

  • In Boundary Point Coordinate Register Area, the accuracy on Transformation of World Geodetic System(WGS) is determined by surveying results at the reference point. However, the present surveying result in reference points indicates the irregular performance due to the limitations of measurement techniques and methodologies, moreover, can be contaminated by various error sources from the unique characteristics of each project district and start time of the project. Therefore, the main purpose of present investigation is to conduct an inquest into error cause by project districts for each type in Boundary Point Coordinate Register Area, and propose the improvement plan of surveying accuracy through the WGS Transformation and verification-surveying.

  • Moving average(MA) and exponentially weighted moving average(EWMA) are the two most popular control methods in manufacturing. Both methods are optimized under the assumption that the exact control equation is known. This paper focuses on the problems rising from estimation errors. Based on the accuracy of the estimated parameter and the range of the weight parameter $\lambda$, the limitations are identified and the performance of methods are evaluated. Optimal adjustment for process shift with misestimated control model and its application control methods to actual process is researched. The efficiency of proposed method is evaluated through simulation.

Color Uniformity Estimation of Printouts Using a Scanner and Average Brightness (스캐너와 평균 밝기를 이용한 프린터 출력물의 색 균일도 추정)

  • Among many factors for evaluating the performance of color printers, the color uniformity is an important factor during the stage of development and mass production. Currently the color uniformity is measured manually using densitometers and the data is analyzed by inspectors to evaluate the performance. In this paper a new method of estimating the color uniformity using scanners and average brightness is presented. The color uniformity of printouts is estimated by using the test pattern and commercially available scanner. It is shown from experiments that the estimated data are similar to the data measured by densitometers. Also, with the analysis of the color uniformity, the usefulness of the proposed approach is presented.
