A Study for Evaluating the Performance of a Community-based Home Care Services Model (일개 지역사회 중심 가정간호시범사업소의 성과평가 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to evaluate the performance of a community-based home care services model. Method: The subjects were 138 patients who have been enrolled during a 6 month's period, nursing records and nursing service bills. The data was collected by self report and chart review. The mean cost per visit was compared with those of hospitalization & clinic visit in the data from National Health Insurance Corporation. Result: A significant number of patients were bed ridden(63.8%) and unconscious (27.5%), and most of the patients had complex chronic diseases. Except nursing assessment, bed sore care was the most frequent nursing treatment(25.1%) in home care services. The mean cost per visit of home care services was 34,665 won, which was lower than those of hospitalization & clinic visit for medical aid. The patients were highly satisfied with the services by visiting nurse specialists. Conclusion: Community-based home care services provided cost-effective and satisfied services. Community-based home care services needs systematic supports to expand it's domain for promoting community health.

Influencing Factors on Task Performance of Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses in Korea (상처장루실금간호사의 간호업무성과에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify variables influencing task performance of wound ostomy continence nurses (WOCN). Methods: Data were collected from 80 WOCN in Korea from September to October 2011 using a self-reported questionnaire. Variables consisted of task performance, empowerment, professional autonomy, job satisfaction and job-related variables. Data were analyzed by frequencies, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Professional autonomy was a major predictor of task performance of WOCN (F=37.37, p=<.001). Empowerment(F=33.10, p=.001) and completion of the professional education course for wound ostomy continence nursing WOCN(F=7.46, p=.008) were the other significant predictors of task performance. The regression model explained 45.3% of task performance. Conclusion: Professional autonomy, empowerment and completion of the professional education course contribute to task performance of WOCN. These findings have important implications for organizations hoping to achieve the maximum potential of WOCN's professional role. Therefore, strategies for reinforcement of professional autonomy, empowerment, and completion of professional education course are necessary for WOCN working in South Korea.

A Survey for Performance Measurement Indicators of Nursing Organizations in Hospitals (병원 간호조직의 성과평가지표에 관한 조사 연구)

  • Objective: The objective was to extract a preliminary performance measurement indicators of nursing organizations in hospitals using the BSC(Balanced Score Card) developed by Kaplan and Norton, and to analyze the content validity and evaluation methods of the performance measurement indicators with actual nurses in the nursing organization as participants in the study. Methods: The preliminary performance measurement indicators was created through a literature review and had the content validity by a professional. This survey was sent via post to 316 nurse managers and nurses with more than 5 years of experience in seven secondary and tertiary hospitals in the Seoul Gyonggi district. The completed questionnaires were returned by mail. Results: Fourteen indicators for finances, 16 for customer services, 27 for internal business processes, and 13 for learning and growth were selected. Conclusion: Amidst a rapidly changing medical environment, a first step was taken towards developing a performance measurement from various perspectives for nursing organizations in hospitals from various perspectives, rather than just one or a past-oriented perspective. However, as the most important thing is to actually use these indicators, continuous interest in publicity and education must be developed.

The Moderating Effect of Self-leadership in Relationship between Self-image and Work Performance of Nurses (간호사의 자아상과 간호업무성과와의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 조절효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the research is to investigate the effect of self-image on work performance and controlling ability of self-leadership in relationship in between self-image and work performance. Methods: The data were collected from Mar 16th to April 15th 2009, a descriptive survey study was conducted with 140 nurses. Results: The hypothesis "Self image of nurse would affect on work performance" is supported ($R^2$=.335, p<.001). In the hypothesis of "Self-leadership would have controlling ability on self-image and work performance", as a result of regression analysis in independent variables of self-image(A) and self-leadership(B), adding relation of both variable($A{\times}B$) would increase in 36.6% (p<.05). Conclusion: Self-image of nurse was confirmed that it had positive effect on work performance and that it had moderating ability on relationship between self-image and work performance. The shaping and strategic operation are required to increase self-leadership and positive development on self-image of nursed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze nursing research using data envelopment analysis and suggest directions for future research. Methods: We established -criteria literature search. e reviewed 45 from RISS, KISS, National assembly library and NDSL DB. Data were collected on December 17, 2013. developed analytic framework of literature reviews using Yun's study. This framework had 8 items related to approach of data envelopment analysis. Results: literature established -criteria. Average numbers of input and output variables were 2.4 and 4.2, respectively. All selected research conducted efficiency analysis, analysis, and inefficiency analysis. However only 3 research. Conclusion: he results of studysuggest that data envelopment are needed to enhance efficiencies of nursing organization as follows individual nurse's profiling to develop customized performance management plans; patient centered nursing interventions; and financial performance financial reports.

Effects of Empowerment and Job Satisfaction on Nursing Performance of Clinical Nurses (간호사의 임파워먼트와 직무만족이 간호업무성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors that affect nursing performance; Those factors are personal characteristics, sub-categories of empowerment and job satisfaction of clinical nurses. Methods: Data were collected from November 24, 2012 to March 11, 2013, and participants were 451 hospital nurses in 6 hospitals. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression were used for data analysis. Results: Nurses who were older, married, highly educated, in the position of charge nurse, and with longer clinical careers showed relatively higher empowerment, higher job satisfaction, and higher nursing performance than others. Also, there were strong correlations between nursing performance and empowerment (r=.576)/job satisfaction (r=.617). Factors predicted nursing performance were relationship with coworkers (${\beta}=.398$), duty (${\beta}=.181$), promotion system (${\beta}=.134$), and turnover intention (${\beta}=-.109$). Factors predicting job satisfaction were competency of empowerment (${\beta}=.249$), and clinical career (${\beta}=.151$). These 6 factors explained 55.2% of the variance in nursing performance (F=93.37, <.001). Conclusion: Regarding human resource management, relationship with co-workers is a changeable factor. Therefore nursing organizations should apply these factors in human resource management to enhance nursing performance and achieve organizational goals.

Effect of Job Embeddedness and Organization Attachment on Intention to Stay in Hospital Nurses (병원간호사의 직무배태성과 조직애착이 잔류의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the effect of job embeddedness and organization attachment on the intention to stay of hospital nurses in the convergence society. The participants were 211 general hospital nurses; data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, Multiple regression. This study found that: hospital nurses showed higher score at job embeddedness, higher organization attachment, higher scores for intention to stay. The main factors influencing intention to stay were job embeddedness and organization attachment. They explained about 45% of the intention to stay. Thus, it is necessary to allocate tasks and evaluate appropriate to the nurse's ability and support individual and organizational activities that can enhance organizational attachment.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a goal-directed rubrics for a adult nursing education and to evaluate this rubric's effects on academic achievement of nursing students. A total of 154 nursing students participated in this study. The data were analyzed by t-test, $x^2$-test with SPSS win 20.0 program. Rubrics in adult nursing education was to improve the academic achievement. With this result, the rubrics development of nursing education in a variety of areas and would have to be evaluated.

Developing a Cancer Nursing Information System;Determining Core Nursing Diagnoses for the Six Most Common Cancers in Korea (암 간호정보체계 개발;한국 6대 암 환자의 핵심간호진단)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 암 간호정보체계에 사용될 한국 6대 암 환자의 핵심간호진단을 결정하기 위해 수행되었다. 핵심간호진단 은 6대 암, 각 환자 군의 간호를 위해 가장 자주 혹은 많이 사용되는 일정의 간호진단 세트로 정의된다. 본 연구에서 6대 암 환자의 핵심간호진단을 결정하고자 하는 가장 큰 목적은 간호진단 과정에서의 편리성을 높임으로써 앞으로 개발될 암 간호정보체계의 유용성과 사용가능성을 높이기 위함이다. 연구방법: 핵심간호진단은 조사연구를 통해 결정하였으며, 결정된 진단들은 문헌고찰과 환자기록 분석을 통해 그 타당도를 확인하였다. 환자기록 분석은 특히 조사연구 결과의 타당도를 확인하기 위해 사용되었다. 조사연구에 사용된 도구 및 환자기록에 나타난 간호진단 혹은 간호문제의 교차분석을 위해서는 NANDA Taxonomy II에 포함된 간호진단이 사용되었다. 219명의 경력간호사가 조사연구에 참여하였으며, 72개의 환자기록이 분석되었다. 핵심간호진단은 암 간호 정보체계의 언어개발을 위해 구성된 전문가 집단에 의해 조사연구 참여자의 20% 이상이 선택한 NANDA 간호진단으로 정하였다. 연구결과: 16개 ${\sim}$ 20개의 NANDA 간호진단이 한국 6대 암, 각 환자군의 핵심간호진단으로 선정되었다. 핵심간호진단 중 '급성통증', '만성통증', '불안', '감염가능성', '피로' 등이 6대 암 환자 군에 모두 포함되었다. 결론: 핵심간호진단의 타당도는 환자기록 분석과 문헌고찰을 통해 확인되었다. 이들 핵심진단은 암 간호정보체계에 사용되어 간호진단 적용을 촉진함으로써 암 환자 간호의 질 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 사회 구조가 날로 복잡해짐에 따라 현대는 보다 노련하고 보다 높은 지식층의 개인에 대한 요구가 점차 증가하게 되었으며 이러한 사회적 경향은 전문직의 발전에 박차를 가하게 되었다. 본 논문의 목적은 한국 간호원들의 등록 간호원 학사 편입제도에 대한 의견을 조사 발표하는 것으로 질문지를 이용한 서술적 방법에 의한 연구 조사이다. 본 논문의 대상이 되었던 113명의 한국 간호원들 중 특히 학사 출신 간호원들은 간호 교직을 그들의 생의 목표로 삼는 경향이 더욱 두드러 지는데 비해 3년제 간호학교 출신 간호원들은 간호직 외에 보다 넓은 분야에서 그들의 생의 목표를 찾는 경향이 보였다. 질문에 응해준 간호원들의 대부분은 한국에 있어서 등록 간호원 학사 편입제도의 가치와 필요성에 대해서 지대한 관심과 갖고저 하는 희망을 보여 주었고 특히 3년제 간호학교 출신 간호원들은 이 제도에 대한 시급한 필요성과 큰 가치에 적극 호응하는 가장 높은 교육열을 보여 주었다.
