Characterization of Dextran Produced by L. mesenteroides ATCC 13146

  • High molecular weight dextran (39% alcohol, v/v), less soluble dextran, eluted from this column between T 500 and T 2000, a commercial linear dextran, Soluble dextran (45% alcohol, v/v) eluted at between T 70 and T 150 dextran. The molecular weight average of total dextran (50% alcohol, v/v) was between 150,000 to 500,000. A few oligosaccharides were detected from hydrolyzates of less soluble dextran. The hydrolyzates of soluble dextran were a family of DP 1 to 6 isomaltooligosaccharides. Compounds greater than DP 4 were branched isomaltooligosaacharides.

  • This study is mainly concerned with providing a basis for the T.V. ad. regulation toward child consumer. The objective of this study is to investigate the facors related to the level of understanding & trust toward T.V. ad. The samples are composed of 258 child consumers filtered by purposive sampling. The statistics used for data analysis are x-tes, T-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results are as follows: 1) The level of understanding indicates significant difference according to age, discriminent ability between T.V. ad. and T.V. program. 2) The level of understanding about persuasive intent indicates significant difference according to age, parent-child interaction. 3) The level of trust indicates significant difference according to age, parent-child interaction, purchasing experience, sex. 4) Attitude toward advertised product indicates significant difference according to level of understanding about persuasive intent, level of trust.

  • In this paper we investigate the blow up properties of the positive solutions to a semi linear parabolic system with coupled nonlocal sources $u_t={\Delta}u+k_1{\int}_{\Omega}u^{\alpha}(y,t)v^p(y,t)dy,\;v_t={\Delta}_v+k_2{\int}_{\Omega}u^q(y,t)v^{\beta}(y,t)dy$ with non local Dirichlet boundary conditions. We establish the conditions for global and non-global solutions respectively and obtain its blow up set.

  • Let D be an integral domain, X be an indeterminate over D, and $N_v=\{f{\in}D[X]{\mid}(A_f)_v=D\}$. In this paper, we introduce the concept of t-locally divided domains, and we then prove that $D[X]_{N_v}$ is a locally divided domain if and only if D is a t-locally divided UMT-domain, if and only if D[X] is a t-locally divided domain.

  • Let D be an integral domain, X an indeterminate over D, $N_v = \{f{\in}D[X]|(A_f)_v=D\}.$. Among other things, we introduce the concept of t-locally PVDs and prove that $D[X]N_v$ is a locally PVD if and only if D is a t-locally PVD and a UMT-domain, if and only if D[X] is a t-locally PVD, if and only if each overring of $D[X]N_v$ is a locally PVD.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of breakdown voltage($\textrm{V}_{Brms}$) -temperature(T) for air insulated power installation in flowing air with variation of T(30[$^{\circ}C$] -180[$^{\circ}C$]) are presented. To study these subjects, needle-to-needle gap in the circular pipe(inner diameter 5[cm]) are used. Also, theories of gas discharge and hydrodynamics in pipe were used to analysis for the characteristics. The $\textrm{V}_{Brms}$ is proportional to flow velocity. At high velocity, $\textrm{V}_{Brms}$ is described the saturation. At high T(180[$^{\circ}C$]), $\textrm{V}_{Brms}$ is about 4.7(kV] lower than low T(30[$^{\circ}C$]). The empirical equation obtained from this study is $\textrm{V}_{Brms}=A\times{Log[Re}+B$. Where A, B : Constant.

Weakly Complementary Cycles in 3-Connected Multipartite Tournaments

  • The vertex set of a digraph D is denoted by V (D). A c-partite tournament is an orientation of a complete c-partite graph. A digraph D is called cycle complementary if there exist two vertex disjoint cycles $C_1$ and $C_2$ such that V(D) = $V(C_1)\;{\cup}\;V(C_2)$, and a multipartite tournament D is called weakly cycle complementary if there exist two vertex disjoint cycles $C_1$ and $C_2$ such that $V(C_1)\;{\cup}\;V(C_2)$ contains vertices of all partite sets of D. The problem of complementary cycles in 2-connected tournaments was completely solved by Reid [4] in 1985 and Z. Song [5] in 1993. They proved that every 2-connected tournament T on at least 8 vertices has complementary cycles of length t and ${\mid}V(T)\mid$ - t for all $3\;{\leq}\;t\;{\leq}\;{\mid}V(T)\mid/2$. Recently, Volkmann [8] proved that each regular multipartite tournament D of order ${\mid}V(D)\mid\;\geq\;8$ is cycle complementary. In this article, we analyze multipartite tournaments that are weakly cycle complementary. Especially, we will characterize all 3-connected c-partite tournaments with $c\;\geq\;3$ that are weakly cycle complementary.

  • Let X be a Banach space, $A:D(A){\subset}X{\rightarrow}X$ the generator of a compact $C_0-semigroup\;S(t):X{\rightarrow}X,\;t{\geq}0$, D a locally closed subset in X, and $f:(a,b){\times}C([-q,0];X){\rightarrow}X$ a function of Caratheodory type. The main result of this paper is that a necessary and sufficient condition in order that D be a viable domain of the semi linear differential equation of retarded type $$u#(t)=Au(t)+f(t,u_t),\;t{\in}[t_0,\;t_0+T],{u_t}_0={\phi}{\in}C([-q,0];X)$$ is the tangency condition $$\limits_{h{\downarrow}0}^{lim\;inf\;h^{-1}d(S(h)v(0)+hf(t,v);D)=0}$$ for almost every $t{\in}(a,b)$ and every $v{\in}C([-q,0];X)\;with\;v(0){\in}D$.

Comparison of Endonuclease-Sensitive Sites by T4 Endonuclease V and UvrABC Nuclease Treatments Followed by Formamide or Sodium Hydroxide Denaturation

  • Endonuclease-sensitive sites detected by T4 endonuclease V or UvrABC nuclease treatments were compared in the dihydrofolate reductase gene of UV-irradiated Chinese hamster ovary B-11 cells. The number of endonuclease-sensitive sites detected by T4 endonuclease V treatment followed by NaOH denaturation was twice that of formamide denaturation. Repeated treatment of damaged genomic DNA with T4 endonuclease V resulted in no further increase in the number of endonuclease-sensitive sites detected. The numbers of endonuclease-sensitive sites detected by UvrABC nuclease using each denaturation condition were similar. Sequential treatment with the two endonucleases using formamide denaturation resulted in twice the number of endonuclease-sensitive sites detected by treatment of each nuclease alone. Due to a lack of AP endonuclease activity these results suggest the presence of T4 endonuclease V-sensitive sites which could be complemented by alkaline gel separation or by UvrABC nuclease treatment.
