This paper empirically explores the predicting ability of the newly proposed smooth transition (ST) time-varying combining forecast methods. The proposed method allows the "weight" of combining forecasts to change gradually over time through its unique feature of transition variables. Stock market returns from 7 countries were applied to Ad Hoc models, the well-known Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) family models, and the Smooth Transition Exponential Smoothing (STES) models. Of the individual models, GJRGARCH and STES-E&AE emerged as the best models and thereby were chosen for constructing the combined forecast models where a total of nine ST combining methods were developed. The robustness of the ST combining forecasts is also validated by the Diebold-Mariano (DM) test. The post-sample forecasting performance shows that ST combining forecast methods outperformed all the individual models and fixed weight combining models. This study contributes in two ways: 1) the ST combining methods statistically outperformed all the individual forecast methods and the existing traditional combining methods using simple averaging and Bates & Granger method. 2) trading volume as a transition variable in ST methods was superior to other individual models as well as the ST models with single sign or size of past shocks as transition variables. -
Recently, as carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions have increased overall and contributed to air pollution, and awareness of environmental degradation has grown. This study examines the impacts and causalities of economic globalization, economic growth, energy consumption, and capital formation on CO2 emissions in China over the period 1971-2014. The vector error correction model (VECM) and Granger causality test on time-series data are employed to observe the interactions between CO2 emission, economic globalization, and various economic factors, including economic growth, energy consumption, and capital formation, since China's early stage of globalization. The empirical results indicate the existence of bidirectional causalities from economic growth, gross capital formation, economic globalization, and CO2 emission to energy consumption, and bidirectional casualty from energy consumption to CO2 emission relationships in the short run. The findings of this study suggest that indirect bidirectional causalities from economic growth, economic globalization, and capital formation to CO2 emission through energy consumption are observed. Moreover, economic globalization accelerates CO2 emission in the short run but decreases it in the long run. To reduce CO2 emissions, and to ensure sustainable economic growth and economic globalization progress, some crucial energy-saving and energy-efficiency policies, regulatory rules, and laws are recommended.

Ready-made Garments (RMG) export earnings, which are almost 80% of the total exports of Bangladesh, have been recognized as one of the main catalysts for the recent development of the country. Therefore, the need to determine whether the RMG export had served as a mechanism for increasing the GDP growth as well as the economic development of the country is topical and pressing. We have applied the Johansen Co-integration test and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to reveal the linkage of RMG export earnings and other variables with the GDP growth rate in Bangladesh. Using data from 1990 to 2020 for Bangladesh, we have found long-run as well as short-run associations among RMG Export earnings, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and GDP growth. A co-integration among the variables is validated through the Johansen Co-integration test. Moreover, a causal correlation running from RMG export earnings to GDP was revealed by the Granger causality test in the long run. Finally, we estimated impulse response functions to observe the variations of model variables in response to a shock. Our result supports the proposition that RMG export earnings are one of the main growth engines in Bangladesh and this sector leads growth in other sectors also in the long term. -

This research aims to investigate the application of Keynes's theory in Indonesia, particularly in solving unemployment and poverty problems through government spending, economic growth, and human resource capacity. The basic concepts of the Keynesian theory were used as a method, through which government spending was harnessed toward economic growth in reducing unemployment and poverty rate. The analytical materials used were panel data for the 2017-2021 period in Central Java, Indonesia. The analytical methodology used was a multiple regression experimental design in selecting the best model according to Keynes's theory, especially for overcoming formidable problems. The main results showed that large Government spending program is ineffective in encouraging pro-growth, pro-job, pro-poor, and pro-equity development policy strategies. The causes of this failure include the violation of Keynes' assumptions about rationality and the low quality of education investment, which do not encourage productive and innovative entrepreneurship, as well as self-employment opportunities. As a result, government spending, including subsidies and direct financial assistance, used to implement the macroeconomic monetary, unstructured, and fiscal policy system is insufficient to significantly reduce the enormous difficulties. The main research results confirm that human capital capacity is the key to mitigating and reducing unemployment and poverty. -

This paper examined the impact of real exchange rate volatility on trade balance in Malaysia by using quarterly data from year 2000 until 2019. Generalized Autoregressive Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) model was used to extract the volatility component of real exchange rate before examining its impact on trade balance. Furthermore, Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model was used to investigate the long-run relationship and short-run dynamic between trade balance, money supply, national income and volatility of exchange rate. Empirical results show the existence of co-movement between variables under study in the long-run. However, the results also suggest that volatility of real exchange rate does not significantly affect trade balance neither in the long-run nor short-run. The risk which is associated in the movement of exchange rate do not influence trader's behaviour toward Malaysia exports and imports. Thus, it should be note that any depreciation or appreciation in Malaysian Ringgit do not have an impact towards trade balance either it is being further improved or deteriorates. Hence, exchange rate volatility may not be too concern for policymakers. This may be partially due to manage floating exchange rate regime that has been adopted by Malaysia eventually eliminated the element of risk in the currency market. -
Organizations pursue innovation to improve performance and gain competitive advantage, and knowledge workers represent an integral part of creating knowledge and helping organizations in their innovation efforts. The current paper seeks to examine the impact of the work environment on knowledge workers' creativity. Building on The Investment Theory of Creativity, The Componential Theory of Creativity, the Job Demand-Resource model, and the Resource Based View, we develop and test a model suggesting a relationship between work environment-social support, sufficient resources, organizational freedom, and organizational regulations-and the quantity and quality of the creative performance of knowledge workers. Using a sample of 167 engineers in Saudi Arabia, an emerging but wealthy country with huge innovation inspirations, the results of our Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis indicate that all four elements of the work environment included in our study positively impact the quantity and quality of knowledge workers' creative performance. Our paper provides important contributions to the literature on the work environment, creativity, and knowledge management, with an emphasis on creativity in developing countries. Our study highlights the importance of creating a supportive and encouraging work environment for knowledge workers to foster their creativity. The study offers several theoretical and managerial implications, along with suggestions for future research.

On the underpinning theory of the Resource Based Theory, this research examines the impact of corporate social responsibility and green marketing strategy on business performance with the moderating role balanced scorecard. Corporate social responsibility concentrates on related to government, the environment, customers, and employees. Green marketing strategy concentrates on approaches in terms of green products, green prices, green places, and green promotion. Business performance is measured by groups of indicators financial, and non-financial. The moderating role balanced the scorecard at the financial, customer, process, learning, and growth level. Research results with survey data from 419 managers at different food enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City processed through the structural analysis method, showed that corporate social responsibility has the strongest positive impact on business performance, followed by the green marketing strategy as the second strong positive impact on the business performance and results also showed that the balanced scorecard moderating role increases the level of the strong positive impact of the above relationship. Besides, it also showed the difference in the demographic control variables. Based on the findings, some implications are drawn to help the managers of enterprises improve the moderating role balanced scorecard when implementing corporate social responsibility and green marketing strategies thereby contributing to increasing business performance. -

CEO duality and its impact on firm performance represent one of the most contentious issues in both academia and business. This study, therefore, aims to examine the moderating role of CEO duality in the relationship between intellectual capital Efficiency (human, structural, relational, Capital Employed, and Innovation) and firm performance (earnings per share and Tobin's Q) among Jordanian companies. The study sample consists of services listed companies on Amman Stock Exchange. The study used panel data for the period 2014-2018 with a sample size of 230 observations. SPSS software was used to analyze the collected data. The regression results indicate a significant relationship between, IC and firm performance. When CEO Duality is incorporated into the model as a moderator, there is an increase in the R2 by 7.9%. The findings from this study expand the theoretical underpinning of corporate governance research by identifying the performance implications of CEO duality within the Jordanian context. It also contributes significantly to the literature review about the current status of the practices taken in the intellectual capital components efficiency among companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. Findings from this study also provide contributions to the concerned policymakers such as the Ministry of Finance, Securities Commission, and Amman Stock Exchange in Jordan, to improve the current policies related to intellectual capital efficiency. -
The purpose of the existing work is to inspect the impact of knowledge management on organizational performance. Business experts now appreciate how important knowledge management is for organizational performance. Earlier studies have investigated the research model with causal linkages, however, only a few of them have considered sample-selecting bias problems when analyzing the model of knowledge management on organizational performance. The number of 312 executives related to knowledge management from 312 enterprises that have been approved with quality management systems offered suitable responses for analyses. The data was employed to investigate the effect of knowledge management on organizational performance, considering sample-selecting bias. The empirical outcomes indicate that sample-selecting bias exists in the causal impact of knowledge management on organizational performance. The empirical findings are helpful to scholars of knowledge management as well as business executives by giving an insight into the casual effect of knowledge management on organizational performance with the intervention of sample-selecting bias. The acceptance of knowledge management should be tailored to improve competitive advantages that will lead to better organizational performance.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the ratio of non-controlling shareholder interests (minority equity ratio, MER) and the measurement error in real activities manipulation (RM) proxy for Japanese firms. Many Japanese firms have practiced stakeholder-oriented corporate governance systems. Previous studies suggest that the higher the MER, the more Japanese businesses tend to employ management techniques for the group's sales growth while also reallocating resources inside the group to reduce principal-principal conflicts. Such differences in management strategies by firms could lead to measurement error in the RM proxy. The analysis uses 16,450 firm-years listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The results of our analysis show that there is a positive relationship between MER and the RM proxy, and high persistence of RM proxies, suggesting that the RM proxies may contain measurement error. We also find that MER is correlated with variables associated with management strategy and that controlling for these variables can reduce the measurement error of RM proxy in firms with large MER. This study extends previous research on measurement error in RM proxy by relating them to ownership structure and corporate governance. This paper would contribute to researchers examining issues related to RM.

The study's goal was to investigate the levels of employee loyalty (EL) in two Thai railway rolling stock maintenance (RRSM) companies. Simple random sampling was used to obtain a final sample of 118 individuals from October 2021 through December 2021. The research instrument was a questionnaire with an expert IOC value between 0.67 to 1.00 and a questionnaire reliability Alpha (𝛼) average value of 0.82. Descriptive statistics included the mean and standard deviation (SD). SPSS for Windows Version 21 and Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) was used for the analysis. Results showed that the 118 employee's overall perceptions of their RRSM employers' motivating factors, human resource management, satisfaction, and loyalty were high. HRM's performance evaluation had the most significant overall influence on EL. Moreover, from the analysis of the five EL questionnaire items, the most influential item was the employee's income as a contributing factor to their EL. This was followed by the suitability of their work. Also, it seems the employees had a high level of loyalty to their firms even if a better offer of more money was made. They also indicated a high level of pride in their respective firms. -

This study aims to identify the factors supporting and inhibiting the digitalization of blue economy MSMEs in Bitung, Indonesia. The literature shows little research on digitalization related to the blue economy in Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia. This indicates that there is a large research gap related to digitalization and the blue economy in the Indonesian context. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires with open-ended questions to blue economy MSMEs. Data was also obtained from in-depth interviews with representatives of Aruna, an Indonesian company that focuses on simplifying the supply chain of fishery products by connecting small-scale fishers to the global market through technology. According to the study's findings, two primary factors-motivation to develop their business and efforts to maintain seller-buyer interaction-support SMEs' use of technology in the blue economy. However, digital literacy and technological infrastructure, such as the internet network, are the two main factors that become obstacles in the effort to digitize MSMEs in the blue economy. The role of the government is also a contingent factor that can strengthen the relationship between factors that support digitization and weaken the relationship between factors that hinder digitalization. -

This study aims to test the information content of sustainability reports issued by the most significant telecommunications companies operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Stc, Zain, and Mobily), and their compatibility with the national sustainability standards issued by the Ministry of Commerce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the Kingdom's vision 2030, and its impact on the stock exchange indices of these companies. The event study methodology was used to study the impact of publishing sustainability reports on stock prices and the trading volume of these companies' shares in the Saudi stock market during the period from (October 2020 to March 2021). The results indicate a significant impact of the information contained in the sustainability reports on stock prices and trading volume in the stock market, and the importance of directing the company's management towards more disclosure of information about sustainability in its environmental, social, and economic aspects instead of focusing only on information related to the financial performance and economic activity of the company. This encourages the listed companies to disclose the sustainability of the financial reports and standardize the form in which these disclosures are prepared. -

This study examines the relationship between employee engagement and goal orientation toward competence. In addition, it also examines the relationship between competence and employee performance in financial institutions in Indonesia. Questionnaires were distributed to several employees who work at financial institutions in Aceh, North Sumatra, and Riau. The basis for selecting the research object was that most financial institutions have similar business products. The similarities are the marketing of home loan ownership products and multipurpose investments. The three study regions are located in western Indonesia's most central provinces and have a significant amount of trade. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling based on specific criteria for the respondents. 275 employees made up the research sample, and partial least squares data analysis methods were applied. In data analysis, initial testing was carried out on the components of the research statement items to see their validity and reliability. The results of this study indicate that employee engagement behavior can improve employee performance, which improves financial institutions' organizational performance. The study's findings offer suggestions for policies and guidelines that will encourage productive work behavior among employees and boost organizational performance. The fact that employees must think and act creatively to develop their competence and become superior employees is another distinctive feature of this research. -

The time series of foreign trade turnover is complex and variable and contains linear and nonlinear information. This paper proposes preprocessing the dataset by the EMD algorithm and combining the linear prediction advantage of the SARIMA model with the nonlinear prediction advantage of the EMD-LSTM model to construct the SARIMA-EMD-LSTM hybrid model by the weight assignment method. The forecast performance of the single models is compared with that of the hybrid models by using MAPE and RMSE metrics. Furthermore, it is confirmed that the weight assignment approach can benefit from the hybrid models. The results show that the SARIMA model can capture the fluctuation pattern of the time series, but it cannot effectively predict the sudden drop in foreign trade turnover caused by special reasons and has the lowest accuracy in long-term forecasting. The EMD-LSTM model successfully resolves the hysteresis phenomenon and has the highest forecast accuracy of all models, with a MAPE of 7.4304%. Therefore, it can be effectively used to forecast the Sino-Russia foreign trade turnover time series post-epidemic. Hybrid models cannot take advantage of SARIMA linear and LSTM nonlinear forecasting, so weight assignment is not the best method to construct hybrid models. -
The main aim of the paper is to assess the level of financial literacy among business students. It further aims to investigate the role of external factors that may determine financial literacy. The external factors considered in this study are gender, grade point average, specialization, financial education, and financial socialization. Standard scales such as the Test of Financial Literacy, the Big Three, and other instruments were adapted to measure Financial Knowledge. Further, the study also explored relationships between several factors and the financial knowledge of students. These factors included a student's gender, specialization, number of finance or related courses studied, current Grade Point Average, and financial socialization. A total number of 303 valid responses were received through an online questionnaire administered to business students studying in a public university in the country. Statistical tests namely independent samples t-Test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis were performed in SPSS 28.0. Results show that the overall financial knowledge of students is above average. Gender, number of finance or related courses, and financial socialization do not exhibit any significant relationship with financial knowledge. Current GPA and specialization show significant relationships. The findings of this study have important sectoral and research implications.

Professional micro account officers create top-notch state-owned bank human resources using their knowledge, attitudes, characteristics, and talents. Therefore, it is vital to undertake study to ascertain how the performance of micro account officers will impact the personality and leadership style mediated through motivation. The goal of this study is to identify the mediated role of motivation (MOT) in the relationship between micro account officers' performance (citizenship behavior/CB) and leadership styles (LS) and personalities (BFP). Data was collected from 1.510 micro account officers of banks in Indonesia using the causal survey method to determine their citizenship behavior, leadership styles, personality, and role of motivation. The data collected was analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM), with the result that leadership style, personality, motivation, leadership style, and personality have a significant effect on motivation and citizenship behavior. The interesting findings are related to the role of leadership style, micro account officer's personality, and citizenship behavior mediated by motivation. It was determined that micro account officers' enhanced performance (CB) was assigned by taking into account how their perceived superordinate leadership style, whether transformational direction or reversely by transactional propensity, and features of micro account officer including their personality, which was affected by five factors as well would then be well mediated by motivation. -

The gig economy offers many advantages, such as flexibility, variety, independence, and lower cost. However, there are also safety concerns, lack of regulations, uncertainty, and unsatisfactory services, causing people to voice their opinion on social media. This paper aims to explore the sentiments of consumers concerning gig economy services (Grab, Foodpanda and Airbnb) through the analysis of social media. First, Vader Lexicon was used to classify the comments into positive, negative, and neutral sentiments. Then, the comments were further classified into three machine learning algorithms: Support Vector Machine, Light Gradient Boosted Machine, and Logistic Regression. Results suggested that gig economy services in Malaysia received more positive sentiments (52%) than negative sentiments (19%) and neutral sentiments (29%). Based on the three algorithms used in this research, LGBM has been the best model with the highest accuracy of 85%, while SVM has 84% and LR 82%. The results of this study proved the power of text mining and sentiment analysis in extracting business value and providing insight to businesses. Additionally, it aids gig managers and service providers in understanding clients' sentiments about their goods and services and making necessary adjustments to optimize satisfaction. -

Transformational leadership styles are seen as key to inspiring employees to embrace change, as well as to build a sense of responsibility and autonomy at work. This study aims to examine the impact of managers' emotional capacity on transformational leadership behavior in enterprises in Vietnam. Using quantitative research methodology, through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and linear structure model (SEM), with survey data of 632 samples who are managers of different levels in the enterprise. Research results show that the emotional capacity of managers has both a direct and indirect impact on transformational leadership behavior through the intermediary factors of knowledge sharing at work and corporate social responsibility for employees. Based on that, the study proposes a number of recommendations to promote transformational leadership behavior in enterprises. The findings of this study have demonstrated the importance and impact of managers' emotional capabilities across multiple dimensions of transformational leadership behavior. These are both theoretical and practical contributions that provide managers with greater insight into their emotional capabilities and the need for transformational leadership behaviors. At the same time, the results of this study will also be an important foundation for further research. -
This study investigates employees' online reviews, conducts in-depth text topic mining, effectively summarizes the dimensions of employer brand value, and seeks effective ways to build employer brands from a multi-dimensional perspective. This study employs samples of employer reviews, filter keywords according to word frequency-inverse document frequency, builds a review network containing the same keywords, explore the community and summarize the theme dimensions. Simultaneously, it makes a dynamic comparison and analysis of the employer brand value dimension of different industries and enterprises. The study shows that the community exploration theme can be summarized into 11 dimensions of employer brand value, and the dimensions of employer brand value are significantly different across industries and among different enterprises within the industry. The attention to the employer brand value dimension has a significant time change. Various industries pay increasing attention to the dimension of work intensity and career development, while employers pay steady attention to the dimension of welfare benefits. The findings of this study suggest that seeking the heterogeneity of employer brand resources from the multi-dimensional differences and changes is an effective way to improve the competitiveness of enterprises in the human capital market.

The proportion of people living in poverty in Soc Trang is comparatively large. 27,154 households in this province are considered to be poor, which represents 8.4 percent of all households. The gap between rural and urban areas, between farmers and other social classes in this province, tends to increase, and the living standard of people in the countryside remains difficult. This paper aims to investigate the determinant factors of poor households' income in rural areas of Soc Trang province, Vietnam. Data from 120 poor households in Vinh Chau district and Ke Sach district of Soc Trang province collected in the year 2019 is employed to test the proposed hypotheses in this study. By applying the descriptive statistical method and ordinary least squares (OLS) regression, the results show that the factors of production land, number of income generation activities, access to credit, means of transportation, and means of production positively affect the income per capita of poor household in the study area, whereas household size has a negative impact on the household income per capita. Considering the empirical findings, several solutions and recommendations are proposed to improve the income of poor households in Soc Trang province.

The ultimate motive of the paper is to establish whether financial inclusion (FI) has a consequential impact on the Sustainable Development (SD) of India. This study uses one model for the assessment of the influence of FI through the Co-Operative bank network on SD. This is purposely done to analyze the absolute impact of the role of the Co-Operative bank network in the said context. The sample encompasses data taken from 28 states and 3 Union Territories for two years (FY2018-FY2020). Assessment of data for the remaining Union Territories is not undertaken for the reason of the non-availability of data for other Union Territories. This study uses Panel Data Analysis (PDA) to establish the nexus of the relation between the said variables. Results of this study reveal elevated levels of SD resultant of increased FI thereby indicating a positive and significant relationship between the said variables. Unlike previous studies, this study gives India-specific significant findings, which suggests policy formulation for increasing the numbers and improving the governance of Co-Operative bank networks for SD. Co-Operative bank network as a proxy despite having high weighted significance in FI has not been incorporated in any recent study as per the last updated knowledge of authors. -

Improving the quality of teaching staff in universities is an important goal of most universities. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the factors affecting the quality improvement of lecturers at universities. There are many factors affecting the improvement of this quality of human resources. This article uses the survey method to assess the factors affecting the improvement of the quality of lecturers in education and training institutions of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam. Currently, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam has 4 educational institutions. The research team has assessed the impact factors at these 4 facilities. The research team conducted a survey for faculty members of the Ministry of Transport. The result was 446 votes. The authors have performed factor evaluation by multivariate regression model. The influencing factors include Professional competence, the virtue of teaching staff, scientific research capacity, participating in building a democratic educational environment, Professional support policy, Instructor's income, and Information technology support. Research results show that most of the factors have a positive impact on improving the quality of lecturers. Based on the survey results, the authors also make policy suggestions to further improve the quality of teaching staff of the schools in the coming time. -
This study explores e-banking variables that affect client satisfaction in the Saudi Arabian banking industry spanning three dimensions: reliability, security concerns, and efficiency, which were chosen as predictors of customer satisfaction in the e-banking industry. A field survey using a self-administered questionnaire as a data collection instrument was adopted to collect the required data from a convenience sample of 250 participants of Saudi banking customers. The overall fit of the hypothesized model was tested using linear regression to find the rate of the independent factors' impact on the dependent variable. The study's findings revealed that there is a statistically significant relationship between the three dimensions and customer satisfaction in Saudi e-banking, with the largest impact being that of reliability, followed by efficiency, and finally security concerns. Also, the study found there was a significant difference in reliability which was considered more important for Saudis and there was a significant difference in efficiency, which was considered more important by males. The findings of this study suggest that these three dimensions are instrumental in e-banking customer satisfaction and that banks can gain a competitive edge by providing better services in these dimensions to sustain and develop their performance in the increasingly globalized banking industry.

In the current fast-growing market economy, the accounting-outsourcing trend of small and medium-sized enterprises is on the increase. Studies from both foreign and domestic sources have shown that many factors influence this decision. However, each country has different economic and political characteristics, so these factors and their degree of impact on accounting outsourcing also vary. This study aimed to determine the factors affecting the decision to outsource accounting activities of small and medium transport enterprises in Vietnam. A survey of 384 transport SMEs was conducted using the convenience sampling method. A personal interview with owners/managers/CFOs in 3 major cities of Vietnam based on a research review was conducted. The model examines the influence of many independent variables on accounting outsourcing. The multilinear regression analysis shows that the higher the Assets Specificity, the lower the degree of accounting outsourcing. In addition, the degree of outsourcing is positively and significantly related to frequency and trust in accountants. Besides, when we include control variables such as gender, administrative level, firm size, company age, education, and experience into the model. The results show that small and medium enterprises with limited resources should switch from the traditional internal accounting method to a professional accountant with external knowledge. Based on this study, the author proposes several implications for the accounting outsourcing of small and medium-sized transport enterprises in Vietnam to be more effective. Finally, this study also contributes to the basic knowledge of accounting outsourcing.
