The study examines stock prices (LOGKSE) and exchange rate (LOGPK)-Pakistani Rupee vis-à-vis US Dollar- interactions in Pakistan. This study employs a multivariate VAR-GARCH model using monthly data from January 2012 to October 2020. The results of the Johansen cointegration test show that there is no relationship between Foreign Exchange Market and Stock Market in the long run. In the short-run, stock exchange returns are affected slightly negatively by the changes in the foreign exchange market, but the foreign exchange market does not seem to be affected by the ups and downs of the stock exchange. The VAR model and Granger Causality show that both markets are strongly influenced by their own lagged values rather than by the lagged values of one another and show weak or no correlation between the two markets. Volatility persistence is observed in both the stock and foreign exchange markets, implying that shocks and past period volatility are major drivers of future volatility in both markets. Thus greater uncertainties today will induce panic and consequently generate higher volatility in the future period. This phenomenon has been observed many times on Pakistan Stock Exchange especially. The results have important implications for local international investors in portfolio diversification decisions and risk hedging strategies. -

Current research intended to measure the spillovers of education and on-the-job training to enhance sustainable economic development. Consideration of research and development expenditures for on-the-job training expands the impact of education and, thus, may provide spillovers for Pakistan's economic growth. The primary focus of this research is to look at the combined impact of education and research and development spending as value-added variables for sustainable growth. The econometric study uses data from a variety of sources, including the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Pakistan Economic Survey, and world development indices. The secondary annual time series data from 1976 to 2019 are analyzed. To adequately estimate the empirical model, ARDL has been used while the presence of the unit root has been tested using the ADF test. The findings show that education, research, and development all contribute to all-inclusive, sustainable economic growth. Labor and capital, among other traditional components, continue to be the backbone of the development process. Still, the spillover effect is much enhanced with the expansion in education and the on-job training in the form of research and development expenditures. Consequently, the introduction of research and development in education will lead to a sustainable and inclusive economy. -

The size of the government is one of the most fundamental debates of open economies. In any economy, government plays an important role, but a pertinent level of economic prosperity has never been obtained in history without government. Therefore, the objective of this paper investigates the association of government size, economic volatility, and institutional quality for 182 economies from the time period 1996-2016 is collected from the World Bank database. GE is defined as the General government's final consumption expenditure. Health expenditure is represented by HE. Government expenditure on education is denoted by EDUEXP. The economic volatility is measured by the rolling standard deviation of GDP per capita growth rate, Population growth, Trade openness, GINI represented Gini index which measures the degree to which the income distributed or consumption expenses among citizens deviates from a perfectly equal distribution. The results proposed that economic volatility has a significant effect on government size and institutional qualities. Moreover, the paper extends the investigation by finding the link between economic volatility with government health and education expenditure separately. The policy implication drawn from this analysis is that controlling economic volatility may reduce the size of government and also significantly affect health and education expenditures. -

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the Vietnamese economy. In the midst of a complex disease that compelled people to limit their interaction, customers' shopping habits shifted from "offline" to "online" transactions. Mobile payments have also grown in popularity. The goal of this study is to figure out what factors influence the use of mobile payments by hotel clients in Can Tho after COVID-19. The research team also examines how those factors influence customers' willingness to use mobile payment and makes recommendations to better the current situation. Primary data was collected from 227 persons using online surveys and processed with SPSS software for this study. To analyze the correlation relationship between the elements determining the intention to use, the Cronbach alpha, EFA, Correlation, and Regression methods used to assess the scale are applied. Perceived Trustworthiness, Perceived Usefulness, and Perceived Ease of Use all have positive effects on customers' propensity to use, according to the findings. Perceived Security, on the other hand, has no bearing. The findings of this study have significant theoretical and practical implications for the development of mobile payment services in Can Tho, particularly following the implementation of COVID-19. -

The research looks into the impact of stock split announcements on stock prices and market efficiency in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE). This research uses a sample of 26 stock split announcements that occurred between 2020 and June 2021. According to the Global Industry Classification Standards, the stock split announcements covered in the study pertain to 26 businesses and 9 industries (GICS). To obtain the results, the usual event research methodology is used. The findings demonstrate significant average abnormal returns of 15.01 percent on the day the stock split news is made public and abnormal returns of 4.11 percent and -4.05 percent one day before and after the stock split announcement date, respectively. The study's findings revealed significant positive abnormal returns one day before the disclosure date, indicating information leakage, and significant negative abnormal returns the next day after the announcement date, indicating CSE informational efficiency. Because stock prices adapt so quickly to public information, these findings support the semi-strong form efficient market hypothesis, which states that investors cannot gain an abnormal return by trading in stocks on the day of the stock split announcement. -

As society evolves, people are making more of an effort to learn more about human aspects, one of which is emotional intelligence, a topic on which education experts have traditionally concentrated. This is due to the fact that emotional intelligence has a significant impact on how people think and manage their emotions. On the other side, it promotes the development of expressive ability and aids people in better adapting to life. This study explores the relationship between communication skills, leadership skills, stress management, adaptability, and emotional intelligence of FPT University students to determine the factors that affect students' emotional intelligence. To survey 500 FPT University students, this study used a sample size of 500. Previous studies used a 5-point Likert scale to assess the four skill elements. According to the results, students who completed the survey showed adequate communication skills, leadership qualities, stress management, adaptability, and emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is influenced by communication skills, leadership abilities, stress management, and flexibility. This suggests that students who master these four skills have higher levels of emotional intelligence. The outcomes of this study reveal that students have been conscious of Emotional Intelligence since a young age. The affirmations in this research paper will benefit students and young people interested in enhancing complimentary soft skills that boost Emotional Intelligence. -

In today's financial economics literature, the impact of innovative family ownership and management on firm performance is a prominent concern. In this study, the existence of family firms in the listed sector of Pakistan's economy is investigated. The objective of this study is to examine the performance-oriented relationship of family ownership and active involvement of family member at the CEO position. The theoretical perspectives that underpin this research are agency and stewardship. This analysis used a sample of 315 publicly traded companies from 2009 to 2019. The study's primary independent variables include family influence on ownership and family CEO. Financial performance is the dependent variable that is divided into accounting and market measures. The proxy for accounting measure is return on asset and proxy for market measure is Tobin's Q. This study employs univariate and balanced panel data analysis. For robustness of the analysis random-effects GLS regression is carried out. The empirical results show that that Family Firms outperform Non-Family Firms both in terms of accounting and market measures. In the later part family CEOs firms outperform the firms that have either insider or outsider non-family CEOs. This superior performance is subjected to the positive and statistically significant association between family ownership, management, and financial performance. -
The service industry has been acknowledged as a critical part of mobile banking services in recent years. This study examines the impact of e-service quality and loyalty on the intention to use and use behavior of mobile banking services in Mongolia, a Central Asian country. As a result, based on past research, a conceptual model was suggested. This study comprises 209 completed questionnaires from young Mongolians who own a bank account and a smartphone. The data was collected based on convenience sampling, and it was analyzed with SmartPLS software using a partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings indicate that system quality, interface design, and security assurance have a significant positive impact on service quality; service quality has a positive impact on loyalty. Moreover, the results reveal that service quality and loyalty have a significant influence on the intention to use mobile banking services. The findings of this study suggest that local or international banks and financial institutions in Mongolia should consider system quality, interface design, and security concerns as key successors to building perceived security quality to retain current mobile banking users and attract new customers.

Purpose: The is study aimed to examine the impact of consumer ethnocentrism on reasoned action and brand equity on Generation Z in Vietnam. Research design, data and methodology: A quantitative study was undertaken on 302 Generation Z members. The data for the study was collected using a Google Form-based questionnaire from December 2021 to January 2022. Descriptive statistics, Cronbach's alpha, and structural equation modeling were among the data analysis techniques employed. The results: The results show that consumer ethnocentrism has a direct positive impact on reasoned action (subjective norms and attitude toward domestic goods) as well as an indirect positive impact on brand equity, including brand awareness, brand quality, and brand image. Major findings: According to the findings of this study, governments should continue to push propaganda and advocacy programs, call for national pride and encourage home consumers to support and use domestic goods. Domestic brands must strengthen their ties to the community and invest in community-oriented programs that promote domestic consumption. Vietnam's domestic fashion brands need to promote the exploitation of community-oriented and nationalistic content to call on domestic consumers to support them to consume domestic brands. -

The main reason for the increase in cross-border mergers and acquisitions in developed and emerging countries is globalization and growing economic interdependence across countries. The state of the economy has a significant impact on whether cross-border mergers and acquisitions are encouraged or discouraged by international strategic capital market changes. This study empirically evaluates the influence of determinants of economic development on the scale effect of Cross Border M&As separately on emerging and developed nations as a research gap. We first separated the small and large scale firms based on companies' worth and used panel regression to analyze the impact of GDP, employment rate, and market capitalization on cross-border merger & acquisition deals over the period of 2008-2018. Results indicate that GDP and market capitalization have a positive effect on CBM&A, whereas employment rate has a negative effect on CBM&A deals in large-scale firms of both emerging and developed countries. This study results offer the implication for the potential investors and policymakers to strategically analyze the implementation of cross-border mergers & acquisitions. -

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the quality of non-financial information disclosure by companies listed on the Vietnamese stock exchange. In 2019, 140 annual reports from 140 companies listed on the Vietnam Stock Exchange were included in the research sample. The remaining 134 reports were eligible study after removing those that lacked essential data. Using the statistical software SPSS version 25 and Excel office software, the study has selected the data processing method and the disproportionate disclosure index method to evaluate the quality of non-financial information disclosure of companies. The findings of the study demonstrate that companies listed on the Vietnam stock exchange are particularly interested in giving non-financial information to financial statement consumers as required by law, although the level of disclosure is still inadequate. The findings also illustrate the varying levels of non-financial information disclosure by category of information, as well as substantial disparities between them (general information about the company, environmental and social information, corporate governance information, etc.). The findings of the study show that the majority of Vietnam's publicly traded enterprises are less interested in reporting environmental information. -
The purpose of this study is to examine how change recipients react to change (affective commitment to change) and how change leads to positive consequences (job satisfaction) in Revolution and Evolution, taking into account the change content (perceived change impact), change context (change climate), and change process (participation in the change process). The present study uses a deductive approach with an exploratory research design. Data was collected from 254 employees of the head offices of three major banks, who have gone through Revolution, and 354 employees of the head offices, three banks who have gone through Evolution in the last five years. The hypothesized model is tested and analyzed through structural equation modeling using SmartPLS. The findings revealed that, in the case of Revolution, the presence of the favorable context and process might revert the negative perception of the change and lead towards explicit positive reactions (affective commitment to change) and change consequences (job satisfaction). In the case of Evolution, the change can be more effectively implemented using favorable context and process by achieving explicit positive reactions (affective commitment to change) and change consequences (job satisfaction).

To improve audit quality, certain Chinese auditing firms have added a third-level review by an additional signing auditor to the general evaluation by a signing auditor team consisting of an engagement auditor and a partner. Nonetheless, our research-based on 36,033 firm-year observations from 2004 to 2019 reveals that compared to the general review system, auditor teams under the three-level review system are less likely to issue modified audit opinions when abnormal financial conditions arise. This finding suggests that, while larger auditor teams' knowledge, experience, and information advantages can theoretically sharpen their judgment, their performance is more susceptible to interference from divergent opinions, the diffusion of responsibility, and lower energy invested by individual auditors, ultimately impairing their judgment regarding the audited enterprises' abnormal financial conditions. That is, the three-level review system, which aims to improve audit quality, actually worsens audit quality. This conclusion remains valid after the problems of heteroscedasticity and endogeneity are addressed by using firm-level cluster robust standard errors and two-stage regression. We hope that our research will draw the attention of auditing firms, prompting them to reconsider the rationality of the three-level review system. -

The study aims to identify factors that influence university and college students' entrepreneurial intentions in Vietnam's Mekong Delta region. The study examines entrepreneurship mindset, subjective norm, capital sources, concept development assistance, personality qualities, and perceived behavioral control of university support for a student's entrepreneurial aim. The research was conducted according to the quantitative method. The data was collected through an online survey with a sample size of 611 students from 19 universities and colleges in the Mekong Delta region. The methods that test the scale, including Cronbach Alpha Test, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), are used to consider the correlation between the influence factors. The results of SEM analysis show that there are five main factors affecting students' entrepreneurial intention with decreasing level of influence, including the source of capital, perceived behavioral control, business development support, entrepreneurial attitude, and educational support. Besides, the results indicate that the subjective norm, personality traits, and concept development support have no impact on the intention of students toward entrepreneurship. The research also reveals that the entrepreneurial intention of students at universities and colleges has a positive relationship and is significantly affected by capital source and perceived behavioral control. -

Job love is an emerging phenomenon, which is the utmost approach to fulfilling employees' and organizations' mutual interests, especially performance. The current study aims to define and extend the existing proposed construct of "loving one's job" as job love. It provides a novel theoretical multi-level framework of job love, contextual factors, and performance principled on the attraction-selection-attrition framework and social exchange theory through an integrated approach. This study collected cross-sectional data through a questionnaire from 332 nurses across eight tertiary hospitals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The findings are based on the structural equation modeling technique (SEM) at multi-levels. The results show significant relationships between job love, contextual factors, and performance at the individual and organization levels. There are some insignificant relationships between the variables at the cross-level. Job love plays a key role for both employees and organizations. It facilitates the individuals in the recruitment process to select the job they love, be a good fit, and stay committed to that particular job and organization. This phenomenon allows people to pursue their common interests. Job love assists firms in developing human resource capacity utilization plans that satisfy the needed requirements. -
The article analyzes the impact of psychological factors on the level of loans used by investors in Vietnam's real estate market. Individual investors in the Vietnamese real estate industry were surveyed using a questionnaire. A total of 320 questionnaires were collected for the survey. The author finalized 314 questionnaires after deleting those that were invalid due to too many blank cells. SPSS 25 was used to conduct quantitative research. According to the findings, Excessive Optimism (EO) is the factor that has the highest impact on the level of loan used by investors in the Vietnamese real estate market, and this relationship is positive. With an influence level of 0.261 and 0.130, the elements of herd psychology and overconfidence also have a beneficial impact on the degree of loan used by investors in Vietnam's real estate market. Fear of loss is a factor that has a negative relationship with the level of loan utilization by investors in the Vietnamese real estate market, although, with a beta coefficient of 0.134, the degree of influence is not significant. Studies on psychological aspects and human behavior in general, and investors in particular, can help investors avoid falling into these psychological traps.

This study aimed to measure the impact of societal participation of Saudi banks on customer satisfaction and determine the statistical differences in customer satisfaction according to sex, age, income, education, and work type. Societal participation has economic and environmental dimensions. The study population includes all Saudis in the government, military, and private sectors reaching 3.58 million in 2021. The unit of analysis is Saudi customers of commercial banks. The 12 banks have societal programs. The research tool is a "Questionnaire," It is distributed face-to-face at places of work. The study concludes that economic participation has no impact on customer satisfaction; however, the impact of environmental participation on customer satisfaction is proved. The study shows no statistical differences in customer satisfaction according to mediators (sex, age, income, education, and work type). Despite the environmental participation being the tangible product by Saudi banks in the local market, the study concludes the positive relationship between societal participation and customer satisfaction. The study presents a set of recommendations for enhancing societal participation in the Saudi businesses environment.

The purpose of this study was to offer a new conceptual framework based on a combination of the TPB model, the TAM model, and two additional constructs consisting of eWOM and pricing value called the E-P-TAM-TPB model, and to assess the model's implications on hotel selection behavior. This study empirically examines the E-P-TAM-TPB model to evaluate and validate domestic tourists' online hotel booking intentions by using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The data was collected from 355 domestic tourists who booked the room via the hotel website. The major findings of this study indicated that the E-P-TAM-TPB model has a positive significant influence on online hotel selection behavior. The results revealed that all proposed hypotheses were declared supported. Future studies should build on the framework by incorporating potential moderators to better understand how different groups of customers behave online in different segments of the hospitality industry. Managers must not only develop an easy booking process but also provide price value information to attract or impress clients. Tourists can compare room rates with other hotel websites and OTAs. -

The economic development of most countries in the world has negatively impacted fossil energy resources. Fossil energy sources such as petroleum and coal are increasingly depleted. When energy sources are exhausted, renewable energy sources are growing strongly. Renewable energy development can help to replace diminishing fossil fuels. Furthermore, the usage of renewable energy can contribute to a green economy and sustainable development by protecting the environment. Solar power on the roof is one of the many renewable energy sources available. But at present, the investment in roof voltage systems has not developed strongly in Vietnam. This paper uses the SEM model to evaluate the factors affecting investment in rooftop solar power in some provinces of Vietnam. The article uses the household interview method. The article has given 8 factors affecting the decision to invest in rooftop solar power for households. Research results show that most of the factor variables have a positive impact on the decision to invest in rooftop solar power. Based on assessing the factors affecting the decision to invest in rooftop solar power, the article will provide conclusions and policy suggestions to increase investment in rooftop solar power in Vietnam. -

In recent years, gamification has been a hot issue due to its positive impact on organizational success. The proper application of game elements in an organizational context is required for gamification implementations. Gamification remains an area of active research for its behavior molding potential. Employee engagement is a critical component in assessing employee behavior and is considered crucial for organizational success. Research questionnaires were completed online between March 2021 and February 2022. Our targeted sample encompassed low and mid-level personnel of Asian and Middle eastern employees working in Hungary. The questionnaire was introduced using google forms. Our sample size consisted of 203 respondents (N = 203). Research results indicated gamification's significance in increasing employees' intrinsic motivation and therefore boosting organizational engagement levels. Gamification improved employees' task performance and the overall quality of work. Organizational culture had a mediating role between gamification and employees' behavior. Organizational culture and employee behavior are in close correlation. Research findings also proved engagements' mediating effect on employees' behavior. The results of the research showed that gamification in human resources has risen in popularity, especially in terms of its impact on employee behavior and performance. The study's findings demonstrated that gamification has a positive impact on organizational performance and collaboration. -

The term "artificial intelligence" is considered a component of sophisticated technological developments, and several intelligent tools have been developed to assist organizations and entrepreneurs in making business decisions. Artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as the concept of transforming inanimate objects into intelligent beings that can reason in the same way that humans do. Computer systems can imitate a variety of human intelligence activities, including learning, reasoning, problem-solving, speech recognition, and planning. This study's objective is to provide responses to the questions: Which factors should be taken into account while deciding whether or not to use AI applications? What role do these elements have in AI application adoption? However, this study proposes a framework to explore the significance and relation of success factors to AI adoption based on the technology-organization-environment model. Ten critical factors related to AI adoption are identified. The framework is empirically tested with data collected by mail surveying organizations in Vietnam. Structural Equation Modeling is applied to analyze the data. The results indicate that Technical compatibility, Relative advantage, Technical complexity, Technical capability, Managerial capability, Organizational readiness, Government involvement, Market uncertainty, and Vendor partnership are significantly related to AI applications adoption. -

A business's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution is software that fully integrates the services that businesses require, continuously updates business processes and department operations in real-time, and so aids in the successful management of enterprise resources. Previously, ERP solutions were often deployed for large enterprises, but along with the strong digital transformation process, many small and medium enterprises have been deploying Cloud ERP (CERP) solutions. The objective of the study is to measure the factors affecting the successful implementation of CERP solutions at small and medium enterprises and the impact of successful implementation of CERP solutions on business process re-engineering and enterprise performance. Using a quantitative method based on data collected from 230 small and medium enterprises in Vietnam that have been implementing CERP solutions, the results show that there are 5 factors affecting, which are Organizational ERP Strategic, Top management Commitment, Data Security, Training in ERP Projects, Organizational Culture. Research results also show that Successful implementation of CERP has a direct impact on business process re-engineering and business performance. Based on the results, the study has made a number of policy implications in the successful implementation of CERP towards re-engineering business processes to improve the performance of small and medium enterprises. -

The goal of this study is to see if the Coronavirus affects the Top 10 most valuable brands in various ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam) and industry types differently. The data for this study was collected using a secondary data method (content analysis). Based on their annual reports from 2019 to 2021, the researchers examined the brand equity of the Top 10 most valued brands in each of the four ASEAN countries. IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Statistics for Windows was used to examine the data. Frequency, an independent T-test, and one-way analysis of variance tests were also applied to the data. The findings revealed considerable disparities between the Top 10 most valued ASEAN country brands in 2019-2020 and 2019-2021 due to the impact of the Coronavirus. Due to the influence of the Coronavirus, the data revealed no significant differences between industry categories. Future studies could look into the disparities between the most valuable brands and the influence of the Coronavirus over a longer period of time and include a larger number of firms and countries. Brand managers in ASEAN countries' Top 10 most valuable companies must carefully manage their brands to preserve brand life and reduce the impact of future global pandemics. -

Agriculture and the rural sector play a crucial part in Vietnam's socio-economic growth. The study's goal is to see how technology transfer from young intellectual research activities affects the economic evolution of Vietnam's agriculture and rural sector in the 4.0 technology era. The research has used a quantitative method through analysis of linear structural model SEM, with a survey scale including 480 samples that are managers in departments and branches in agriculture and rural sector in the provinces in Vietnam. Research results show that technology transfer from research activities of the young intellectual has a direct and positive impact on economic development in agriculture and rural sector. This level of impact will increase with the participation of the intermediary factors such as awareness of managers, trust, and mechanisms in the mobilization and use of resources. These results contribute to both theoretical and practical aspects when proving the impact of technology transfer from the research activity of the young intellectual to the economic development in the field of agriculture and rural sector in the 4.0 era and the mediating role of awareness of managers, trust and mechanisms in the mobilization and use of resources. -

Banking and finance is a broad term that incorporates a variety of smaller, more specialized subjects such as corporate finance, tax finance, and insurance finance. A virtual assistant that assists users in searching for information about banking and finance terms might be an extremely beneficial tool for users. In this study, we explored the process of searching for information, seeking opportunities, and developing a virtual assistant in the first stages of starting learning and understanding Vietnamese to increase effectiveness and save time, which is also an innovative business practice in Use-case Vietnam. We built the FIBA2020 dataset and proposed a pipeline that used Natural Language Processing (NLP) inclusive of Natural Language Understanding (NLU) algorithms to build chatbot applications. The open-source framework RASA is used to implement the system in our study. We aim to improve our model performance by replacing parts of RASA's default tokenizers with Vietnamese tokenizers and experimenting with various language models. The best accuracy we achieved is 86.48% and 70.04% in the ideal condition and worst condition, respectively. Finally, we put our findings into practice by creating an Android virtual assistant application using the model trained using Whitespace tokenizer and the pre-trained language m-BERT. -

Using the ARDL approach, this study examined the impact of macro factors on Vietnam's stock market in the short and long run from 2010 to 2021. The State Bank of Vietnam and the International Monetary Fund provided time series data for this study. Research results show that in the long run, money supply and exchange rate respectively affect the stock market. The money supply had a positive effect on the VN-Index, while the exchange rate showed the opposite effect. However, the study did not find a relationship between world oil price and interest rates on VN-Index in the long run. On the other hand, in the short term, there are relationships between variables; specifically, interest rates and exchange rates have a negative impact on the VN-Index, while the world oil price and the fluctuation of money supply M2 of the previous one and two months showed an impact in the same direction on this index. The differences in the regression results on the impact of exchange rate and oil price on the VN-Index compared to previous studies come from the characteristics of Vietnam's stock market, with the large capitalization of companies in the oil and gas sector, and the structure of Vietnam's economy with export heavily depends on FDI sector. -

This study investigates the impact of globalization, coal consumption, and economic growth on CO2 emissions in Malaysia by applying the Kuznets Environmental Curve model. The study employed the Autoregressive Distributed Lag modeling technique on time series data over the period of 1970-2018 to determine the short and long-run relationship between CO2 emissions and a number of variables, including globalization, coal consumption, and economic growth. The results show that globalization increase CO2 emissions in both the short and long run in Malaysia. Furthermore, the results reveal that economic growth and coal consumption degrade the environmental quality by accelerating the CO2 emissions in the short-run and long run. As a result, the findings validate the Kuznets Environmental Curve hypothesis of an inverted U-shaped relationship between economic growth and CO2 emissions in the long run for Malaysia. The findings of this study suggest that higher globalization levels and usage of coal consumption degrade the environmental quality in Malaysia. The findings also indicate the effect of economic growth on environmental degradation is positive at the initial stage but improves after the economy achieves a threshold level of income per capita in the economic development process with an inverted U-shaped pattern in the long run. -
The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is projected to provide several chances for Vietnam's banking industry to expand into the international market. This study examines the influence of foreign ownership on credit risk in Vietnamese commercial banks before the context of participation in the CPTPP. Using a sample of 28 commercial banks between 2009 and 2020, we find that foreign ownership has a negative relationship with bank credit risk. The regression methods used include the least-squares method, fixed-effects model, random effects model, and general least squares method. The research model adds interactive variables, which will help to reflect the role of intermediary factors more accurately such as listing on the stock market, capital ratio to the relationship between foreign ownership and bank credit risk. The test results reveal that increasing the foreign ownership ratio has a bigger impact on reducing credit risk for listed banks and banks with low capital than for other commercial banks. The government should flexibly adjust the foreign ownership ratio according to the capital size and role of each bank so that it can make good use of investment capital from abroad when Vietnam joins the CPTPP.

We investigate the impacts of tariff, tariff-rate quota, conformity assessment, and traceability requirements set by the rice importers using panel data of 17 rice exporters exporting to 119 countries in two years 2015 and 2018, using both Ordinary least square (OLS) and Poisson pseudo maximum likelihood (PPLM) methods. Results from our gravity models strongly indicate that tariff and tariff rate quota remain significantly detrimental to the world's rice exporters because these measures place downward pressure on the rice exporters' prices and the importers' import quantity, creating barriers to market participation. Our study also provides strong evidence about the role of origin certificates in allowing rice exporters to gain access to foreign markets. Meanwhile, regulatory standards such as traceability requirements and logistical and distributional requirements imposed by the rice importers are found to be major obstacles to rice importation from less-developed countries. Our study provides insights into tariff and non-tariff barriers existing in the global rice market, which is likely to assist policymakers operating in developing countries to help shape their policies and bolster rice competitiveness. -

This study examined the influence of three elements of individual entrepreneurial orientation (IEO), namely innovativeness, risk-taking, and proactiveness on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It is worth noting that SMEs have experienced low productivity, low profit, and low performance during the COVID-19 pandemic era. Although several studies have shown that entrepreneurial orientation (EO) is a key factor of company performance, few have focused on IEO. This study employed a quantitative research design because all variables were measurable. It used a questionnaire to survey 384 SMEs in the service sector and employed structural equation modeling (SEM) in data analysis. The findings suggested that SMEs' performance was influenced by risk-taking and proactiveness. This could be related to the fact that SMEs have a less formal structure, allowing owner-managers to take risks and make quick decisions. Furthermore, high performance was ensured by being very sensitive to market trends and changes in the business environment. Innovativeness was not a significant factor in influencing the performance of SMEs. Perhaps it was rather difficult for SME owner-managers to be innovative due to the lack of various resources. This study successfully re-confirmed the effect of IEO on business performance and highlighted the importance of risk-taking and proactiveness in improving the performance of SMEs. -

Corporate social responsibility is becoming increasingly important to organizations, and it has received a lot of attention from the general public and marketing academics. This study aimed to look at the many aspects of corporate social responsibility and see how brand reputation and brand love play a role in the relationship between corporate social responsibility and customer purchase intent. To reach the end, this research applied the theory of social exchange and corporate social responsibility to explain the relationship between the variables. The Partial Least Squares was applied to analyze data collected from survey questionnaires in the Hanoi market (Vietnam) to test the proposed hypothesis. The study resulted in 239 valid survey questionnaires which can be used to test hypotheses by applying SmarPLS software. The results indicated that there are three key elements of corporate social responsibility from customers' perspectives: responsibility to customers, responsibility to the environment, and responsibility to the community. Interestingly, brand reputation and brand love contribute as mediating roles in the correlation between corporate social responsibility and customer purchase intention. Finally, the authors discussed the findings and the implications of this research in both theoretical and practical aspects, as well as the limitations that future research can focus on. -

The importance of the public sector's role in fostering a positive business climate has prompted public sector organizations to consistently enhance their performance. The study aims to develop service orientation dimensions for public sectors and examine the relationship between service orientation and organizational performance. A field survey was employed in this study. Six hundred questionnaires were distributed, and four hundred and eighty-eight were returned and analyzed. Factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were used in the dataset. This study identifies five dimensions of organizational service orientation in public sector service organizations: technology-service standard-communication, service vision, service delivery, service training and powering, and servant leadership. The result also concludes that service orientation influences organizational performance, such as corporate growth, service quality image, IT effectiveness, service innovation, and public complaint. This study's findings imply that public sector organizations should rectify service orientation factors to increase corporate growth, service quality image, IT effectiveness, service innovation, and public complaint reduction. Managerial guidelines are presented for developing a service orientation. -
The debt maturity structure has a significant impact on a company's financial situation. Any debt maturity structure decisions substantially impact investment decisions due to changes in capital cost and dividend decisions due to cash flow consequences. This study used the system generalized method of moment (Sys-GMM) to investigate the debt maturity structure of real estate companies listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) in the duration from 2008 to 20019. It found that the firm size, liquidity, and tangible assets affected the decision on debt maturity structure. The tangible asset had the most significant impact on the possibility for companies to access long-term loans. This finding revealed that the majority of the real estate companies listed on HOSE borrowed money from banks. Such decisions are most likely affected by the collateral. Another finding of the study is that financial institutions had a major impact on loan maturity structure, whereas the effects of the financial market were negligible. Besides, the real estate companies listed on HOSE seemed not to pay attention to changes in inflation, economic growth, and institutional qualities when deciding on the debt maturity structure.

This study aims to look into the causal relationships between corporate social responsibility and firm value, corporate social responsibility and institutional ownership, and firm value and institutional ownership. This study develops a triangle model of causal relationships among the three endogenous variables. Samples for this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2018. The model is operated in the system of simultaneous equation models using the generalized method of moments technique to estimate parameter coefficients. After controlling the effects of trade-off/balancing capital structure and managerial ownership, the research findings show a positive causal relationship between CSR and firm value and firm value and institutional ownership. Institutional ownership has a positive effect on CSR, while the effect of CSR on institutional ownership is negative in the firms without managerial ownership and positive in the firms with managerial ownership. This study finds that the causal relationship between CSR and firm value is stronger after the trade-off/balancing of capital structure is included in the model. Capital structure has a convex effect on firm value and positively impacts institutional ownership. In addition, an independent commissioner has a negative impact on CSR but has no direct impact on firm value.

The purpose of this article is to investigate the impact of competition on the performance of Indian banks. The survey includes banks from both the public and private sectors. The study will collect data for four years, from 2015 to 2019. Dynamic and static panel data are applied to estimate the association between competition and the bank's performance. Profitability and risk-taking are the performance measures used in the study. The study's main findings are that competition does not impact the banks' profitability in India. However, the findings concerning risk-taking are mixed. Therefore, it can be inferred that overall competition does not impact the banks' performance in India. Other measures of performance of the banks could have been used in the study. It is a limitation to use data of four years. Data for a much more extended period could have also been used. This is one of the few papers on the subject. Therefore, its contribution is very significant. The gap in studies on the topic of competition versus performance of the banks is veritably filled by the current study's findings. -

Tourism has always played an important role in socio-economic development in Vietnam and in many countries around the world. Tourism is also an industry that has attracted a large number of workers in the past two decades in Vietnam in general and territories in particular. Over the past two decades, tourism in the southern Red River sub-region has created thousands of jobs for local workers and neighboring provinces. The study aims to examine the factors affecting the employment decision of workers in the tourism industry in the South Red River sub-region. Using a pilot study surveying 10 workers in three provinces to adjust the questionnaire and a sample data of 193 observations were performed. The experimental results prove that the independent variables explain 64% of the variation of the dependent variable, and other reasons can explain the rest (36%). Research results show that four factors, namely, welfare (WE), working conditions (IN), the potential for tourism development (POT), and development policy (POL) have a positive impact on the employment decision of workers. Meanwhile, the two factors that are tourism cooperation (CO)and Education (EDU), have an insignificant impact on the employment decision of workers in the southern Red River sub-region. -

The informal economy is a large part of the urban economy. The informal economy accounts for about half of Pakistan's GDP. This research examined nine different areas of Rawalpindi's Central Business District's business sector (CBD). A survey of 404 respondents from 16 CBD marketplaces enables a comprehensive examination of who works in the informal and formal economic sectors, how much they earn, their goals, perception of their job, and their degree of similarity to the rest of the working population. Furthermore, the statistics illustrate the pro-cyclical connections between the informal economic sector and the formal economy. The Multinomial Logistic Regression (MLR) technique is used for the analysis. The MLR results indicated the informal economic sector holds positive relation with earning members in a family, business expertise, average business sale, and negative relation with education level, satisfaction with government tax policies, household expense, and average investment in the business. From a resilience standpoint, governance is considered an intentional collective action to preserve a stable system condition. Hence, the current study recommends tax reforms and government institution reorganization to mobilize the informal sector and make effective institutional governance. -
This paper examines the post-IPO price volatility in the first trading days after the IPO of SOEs that carry out equitization, on a sample of 76 IPOs on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (Vietnam) in the period 2013-2018. Oversubscription rate, firm size, issuance size, internal equity ownership, and listing delay are all factors that influence IPO price volatility in a primitive stock market. The results showed that the average initial market-adjusted return for the first three trading days was -11.95%; -9.58% and -7.29% and the level of price volatility is related to the rate of oversubscription and company size. Issuance price, issuance size, internal equity holdings, and listing delay do not seem to contribute significantly to post-IPO share prices. Individual investors based their valuation on information released during and after the IPO. In general, the number of IPOs that yield positive and negative returns in the first trading days is about the same, indicating that the two phenomena of undervaluation and overvaluation still occur in the process of valuing shares of Vietnamese SOEs for IPOs.

Entrepreneurship research has focused on several factors that might affect the intention of an individual to start an enterprise. Using principles from social network theory and the entrepreneurial intention model (EI), the current research intends to investigate how social capital is formed on Social Networking Sites (SNS) and how the resulting social capital influences entrepreneurial intention. Using an online survey, 151 valid responses were received from university students. Applying partial least square structural equation modeling, positive and significant relationship was found between the SNS usage and bonding and bridging social capital. Further, it was also found that online-bonding social capital does not impact any of the three antecedents of entrepreneurial intention. On the other hand, online-bridging social capital significantly influences personal attitudes and subjective norms. It was also found that both personal attitude and perceived behavioral control significantly relate to EI, while the subjective norms do not relate significantly to EI. The paper contributes to the literature on technology-based human behavior and entrepreneurship in emerging countries, opening some areas for future research, while also providing some managerial insights. It also should be beneficial to educational institutions in understanding how the use of SNS use by students may be optimized.

Many new challenges in different sectors have emerged due to societal growth, and researchers are needed to help solve them; and Google Scholar is a tool to assist researchers in doing so. The goal of this study is to figure out what characteristics influence how effective the Google Scholar tool is for Vietnamese university students. The study focuses on analyzing and explaining the interplay between the independent variables Perceived of Google Scholar, Perceived ease of use, Comprehensiveness and subjective norm, Perceived Satisfaction for the dependent variable Perception of usefulness. The study was carried out using quantitative and qualitative methods with 280 data points collected online through the survey link. The methods used to test the scale such as Cronbach alpha, CFA, SEM, One sample T-test, Independent Sample T-test, and One-way Anova are used to find the correlation between factors such as gender, Age, and Majors that affect the students' perception of the usefulness of google scholar. The results show that all the factors suggested in the model have a significant impact on the perceived usefulness of Google scholar. Furthermore, research shows that Google Scholar is an important academic search engine for Vietnamese students. -

This study examines the effect of board structure and audit committee structure on financial reporting timeliness among Malaysia's top 100 public listed companies. Specifically, this study examines whether board independence, CEO duality, board ownership, audit committee independence, audit committee competence, and audit committee diligence influence the financial reporting timeliness of the public listed companies. This study selects the top 100 public listed companies by market capitalization listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia as the sample since the main board has more public reprimands on financial reporting timeliness compared to other boards. The content analysis on annual reports for five years from 2015 to 2019 is utilized. The results show that audit committee competence and audit committee diligence significantly affect financial reporting timeliness. In contrast, board independence, CEO duality, board ownership, and audit committee independence have insignificant relationships with financial reporting timeliness. The findings in this study are helpful for compliance analysis and strategy formation in enhancing financial reporting timeliness. This study contributes to the agency theory by providing a new perspective on how different sections of corporate governance features interact together to influence financial reporting timeliness. In addition, the findings can assist the regulators in establishing quality corporate governance. -
The current study adds to the body of knowledge about the mediation in the causal link between students' perceptions of the utility of eLearning and their learning performance. The data was collected from 500 questionnaires that were delivered to the students at the Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City. Only 422 finished questionnaires were usable for analyses, indicating a responding rate of 84.4%. Multiple regressions were used to investigate causal correlations, whereas Goodman's (1960) techniques were used to investigate mediating relationships. The major findings reveal that both the utility and adoption of eLearning have an impact on students' learning performance, with usefulness being a crucial determinant of eLearning adoption for study. More meaningfully, statistical evidence on the mediation of adopting eLearning for study in the causal linkage from the usefulness of eLearning perceived by students to their learning performance was provided. The relevance of using eLearning for study is stressed in this study, where it is not only one of the key antecedents of their learning performance, but also acts as a mediator between the usefulness of eLearning and learning performance in the research model.

Using structural equation modeling, the study aims to investigate the causal relationship between working capital policies and working capital indicators on firm performance, including profitability and market value (SEM). The samples of 381 firms were selected from various industries listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) from 2016 to 2020. The results showed that 1) there is an effect of working capital policies on profitability and market value; 2) there is an effect of working capital indicators on profitability and market value and 3) there is the effect of profitability on market value. From the results, it is suggested that conservative working capital investment policy (CIP) and conservative working capital financing policy (CFP) affect a company's performance in the Thailand context. In addition, shortening the cash conversion cycle (CCC) should be applied in management to increase profitability by reducing the receivables collection period (RCP) and inventory conversion period (ICP) while increasing the payables deferral period (PDP). The practical implications of the study provide the evidence that meeting the dues according to short CCC management can represent healthy liquidity in cash flow that helps gain investor confidence and the investment interest that further increases the market value.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the use of material flow cost accounting (MFCA) in Vietnam's coal-fired thermal power plants. This study is based on the contingency and system theories to explain the application of management tools and analyze steps of input, output, and process in manufacturing. Costs in producing process-based MFCA include material cost, energy cost, system cost, and waste management cost. The exploratory case study methodology is used to describe and answer two questions, namely "How coal flow cost is recognized?" and "Why waste in material consumption can be harmful to the environment?". By analyzing the Quang Ninh and Pha Lai coal-fired thermal power plants that are the typical plants, this paper identifies the flow of primary material in these plants as a basis for determining losses for the business. The material flow of coal-fired thermal power plants provides the basis for the use of the MFCA. The manufacturing of electrical items in these plants is divided into four stages, each with its own set of losses. As a result, some phases in the application of MFCA are suggested, as well as some other elements required for MFCA application in coal-fired thermal power plants.

This study attempts to discover a differentiated service strategy for the hotpot restaurant industry from the perspective of Chinese Generation Z customers, as well as to further explore the inner needs of Chinese Generation Z to make practical implications for discovering the method of gaining their satisfaction and loyalty. This paper employs questionnaires to collect analytical data and through a case study to produce company strategies. Smith's Marketing Ethics Sequential System Model (SMESSM) is introduced in this paper for the decision of whether the case study company Haidilao Hot Pot should make a new strategy on service based on Generation Z's consuming behavior. The findings of this study demonstrate that hotpot restaurant must differentiate their services for Generation Z from older generation customers to gain a sustainable development of the hotpot business. Proper differentiated service will not only improve Generation Z's dining experience but also reduce costs. This paper is the first to discuss differentiated service strategy in the hotpot restaurant business from the perspective of Generation Z customers. And a Chinese experience of SMESSM for practical use is introduced in this paper, which enriches the relevant implications for future research on business strategy.

The study was carried out to investigate the factors affecting the online purchase intention of Vietnamese consumers, focusing on Generation Z (Gen Z), through the information provided on TikTok - a social media network. Besides, the study evaluates the influence of these factors on the intention to purchase online of Gen Z. Most important; the research aims to help businesses better understand the insight of their consumers. The data were collected from 250 people who were born in the 1995 to 2010 period, living in the South of Vietnam. The study was conducted from December 2021 to March 2022 and used two analytical methods, which are exploratory factor analysis and Structural Equation Modeling. Research results show that there are 4 factors of TikTok advertisements that affect the purchase intention of Gen Z consumers, including information, entertainment, trust, and social interaction, and they all have a positive impact on the online purchase intention. In which the information factor has the most significant impact on the online purchase intention of Gen Z consumers. Based on the research results, recommendations are made to help businesses that have sold or intend to sell products via TikTok, improve the effectiveness of advertisement through the TikTok channel. -

This study aimed to measure the monetary and non-monetary effects on brand awareness at hypermarkets in Riyadh. The independent variable consists of three sub-variables: price reductions, free samples, and purchasing vouchers. The research population has all Saudi and non-Saudi buyers in Riyadh. The figures show that the population size reached 3.87 million in 2019. The proportional stratification sampling technique and the recommended sample size were 387 buyers. The five-point Likert scale with the fully structured questionnaire was used. The study concldes the effect of free samples on brand awareness while there was no effect of monetary instruments. The results show that the three sales promotion incentives (price reduction, free samples, and purchasing vouchers) moderately affected brand awareness and a key role in explaining consumer behavior, so the significant impact was proved. In summary, this study showed that price reductions have the power of creating the perception of buyers at hypermarkets in Riyadh. Non-cash instruments were more effective than cash instruments in enhancing brand awareness at the hypermarkets in the Saudi market. So, the price reductions and purchasing vouchers have less power in conducting communication-based awareness. Building awareness and improving brand image through free samples were most visible in communication strategy. -

Many consumers are opting for online booking over traditional booking systems. Customers can actively seek out information about hotels and lodging services, as well as book rooms, at any time and from any location. Customers also feel more supported when they interact with virtual assistants or professionals. Recognizing this issue, several hotels have focused on improving their websites by incorporating aspects that encourage customers to book directly through the hotel's website. The study's goal is to discover what factors impact people's decisions to book a hotel stay through the hotel's website. Therefore, hotel managers and owners can make decisions to improve the hotel website to attract residents to Can Tho City. The factors are website quality, affective commitment, social presence, and e-trust that affect customers' decision to book through the hotel website. The study uses quantitative methods to collect data from 180 residents living in Can Tho. Through data analysis on SPSS and Amos software, the research results show that three factors considered, namely website quality, affective commitment, and social presence, positively influence customers' booking decisions. This finding also suggests that e-trust is less critical to residents in Can Tho City, different from what the study had predicted. -

The goal of the research is to identify the relationship between organizational justice, job satisfaction, and work attitudes in the context of job rotation. The competence and loyalty of the employees of an organization are critical to the organization's success. Therefore, organization should invest in developing their employees, including creating effective procedures and human resource management policies. A job rotation program is one of the critical policies in developing employees, as through this program employees can develop and actualize their abilities. However, there are some challenges in practice regarding implementing the procedures of job rotation. One of the challenges is related to the concept of organizational justice, which then impacts on employees' job satisfaction and work attitudes. This study was conducted in focused group discussions. The sample is 272 of a state-owned organization. In this study, the concept of organizational justice, with the dimensions of distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice, were used along with the discussion of job satisfaction and other work attitudes. The results were issues of fairness in perceiving organizational justice in the job rotation context, and the most significant response lies in procedural justice. -

This research examines the effects of organizational learning and network involvement, as well as many contextual factors, on power generation businesses' innovation capability and operational success in Vietnam. This research also aims to attest to the moderating roles of top management support and company age, and firm possession type in the power generation industry. This study applied the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and PLS-SEM approach for data analysis. In this research, we have tested hypotheses with data collected from 132 top managers and other key personnel from power generation companies in Vietnam. The results also attest to the moderating role of top management support on the two relationships between organizational learning - innovation capability and network involvement - innovation capability. Another important finding is that the company age has a negative impact on operational performance but shows a positive moderating role in the relationship between innovation capability and operational performance. This study highlights the central roles of organizational learning and innovation capability in impacting the organizational performance of power generation companies. These companies play a key role in supporting the development of industries in practice. This research also emphasizes the moderating roles of top management support and company age and possession type in practice. -

This study investigates the effect of job satisfaction as a mediator of job placement on employees' organizational commitment in the Sumatra-Indonesia energy sector. Permanent personnel of a PGU unit power plant in Sumatra, Indonesia, made up the population and sample. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling of 129 employees. The research model and hypotheses were tested using multiple regression analysis. This study indicate that job placement has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. Simultaneously, job placement does not have a significant positive effect on organizational commitment. Secondly, job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment and finally, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between job placement and organizational commitment. The results of this study indicate that job placement has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. Therefore, the right job placement will lead to employee job satisfaction. Another finding is that job placement has a positive and insignificant effect on organizational commitment. Furthermore, job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on organizational commitment. The results of this study indicate that the higher the job satisfaction of the PGU unit employees in the Sumatra area, the higher the level of employee organizational commitment will be. -

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence of the absence of testing the effect of professional ethics, emotional intelligence, and internal auditor performance on professional skepticism. According to this study, internal auditors can use professional skepticism to better understand red flag fraud. Questionnaires were used as the research instruments in this study. The participants included 186 auditors. Using structural equation modeling, this study confirms the hypothesis. The results show that the application of professional ethics and emotional intelligence has a positive effect on professional skepticism. The findings show that 1) professional skepticism can improve internal auditors' understanding of the red flags of fraud, 2) professional ethical norms influence how people behave and accomplish jobs, and 3) how constructive findings are produced by an audit procedure that adheres to the requirements of an audit expert, not just an espionage agent trained to infiltrate. As a result, internal auditors' higher performance in performing functions as a building agent rather than a secret agent like intelligence can be attributed to this. This study provides evidence that 1) not only does the use of professional ethics increase professional skepticism, but high emotional intelligence also plays a role, and 2) professional skepticism can improve internal auditors' understanding of red flags of fraud.
