Knowledge management is a current management concept dealing with information gathering and implementation processes for the organizational performance advantage. The study investigates knowledge management in two perspectives: internally, Organizational information processing structure and externally, strategic issue management system. The study proposes the existence of filtering processes in the organizations. Based on this argument, the authors propose that organizations need to employ strategic issue management system for the successful implementation of knowledge management.

We will introduce a new web-based knowledge management system in progress, in which XML-based web information extraction and our structuring knowledge technologies are combined using ontology-based natural language processing. Our aim is to provide efficient access to heterogeneous information on the web, enabling users to use a wide range of textual and non textual resources, such as newspapers and databases, effortlessly to accelerate knowledge acquisition from such knowledge sources. In order to achieve the efficient knowledge management, we propose at first an XML-based Web information extraction which contains a sophisticated control language to extract data from Web pages. With using standard XML Technologies in the system, our approach can make extracting information easy because of a) detaching rules from processing, b) restricting target for processing, c) Interactive operations for developing extracting rules. Then we propose a structuring knowledge system which includes, 1) automatic term recognition, 2) domain oriented automatic term clustering, 3) similarity-based document retrieval, 4) real-time document clustering, and 5) visualization. The system supports integrating different types of databases (textual and non textual) and retrieving different types of information simultaneously. Through further explanation to the specification and the implementation technique of the system, we will demonstrate how the system can accelerate knowledge acquisition on the Web even for novice users of the field.

In traditional approach, enterprise-wide consistent security policy enforcement for applications is very difficult task. Therefore, industry is now moving towards new unified enterprise application security concept that consist of centralized authentication and authorization mechanism. The eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML); an XML-based standard defined by OASIS, is most suitable choice which can support centralized, role based, context aware access control mechanism. It is designed to provide universal standard for writing authorization policies and access control request/response language for managing access to the resources. This paper includes a brief overview on XACML and discusses its benefits, limitations and a data flow process. We propose a new generic access control architecture that supports enterprise wide centralized application level access control mechanism using XACML. The other benefits which can be achieved through this architecture are, reduce adnministration cost and complexity, support of heterogeneous computing platforms, centralized monitoring system, automatic fail over, scalability and availability, open standard based solution and secure communication.

This study examines the effects of the characteristics of educational contents, brand recognition, educational management and technical support on the repurchase intention mediated by overall satisfaction, trust and commitment in e-Learning sites. A survey of experienced users was conducted to collect data. The reliability and validity of data were tested by explanatory factor analysis, Cornbach's alpha coefficient, confirmatory factor analysis and correlation analysis. Also, the structural equation mode (SEM) analysis was performed to test the usefulness of the model. The results of the study are as follows: Educational contents, educational management and technical support were found to have positive effects on overall satisfaction. And educational contents and brand recognition were found to have positive effects on trust and commitment. And trust and overall satisfaction were found to have mediating effects on repurchase intention.

The recent push for healthcare reform has caused healthcare organizations to focus on ways to streamlined processes in order to secure high quality care as well as reducing costs. Healthcare enterprises involve complex processes that span diverse groups and organizations. These processes involve clinical and administrative tasks, large quantities of data, and large number of patients and personnel. We propose the mobile-based workflow system of passable communication as an important factor in the B2B healthcare. Based on the above proposal the workflow system of business process was designed and implemented on the basis of Java, UML and XPDL.

This research describes the comparison broker's role and its effectiveness measurement using a developed logical framework of comparison shopping service. And verifies that seller-led comparison challenge method provide comparison information of products to buyers more efficiently. In electronic commerce, buyer's satisfaction of purchase (S) can be defined as an interactive function between seller's competitiveness vector (P) of products that supplied to the market, and buyer's informed level vector (B) of products that is known from a lot of sources. Then the buyer's informed level can be changed through the information analysis among products by transformation process using comparison matrix (C). So the role of comparison shopping is to construct a comparison matrix and to serve it to the buyers, and to change the buyer's informed level. The changed informed level influences a buyer's satisfaction, that improved satisfaction of purchase is defined as the effectiveness of comparison shopping. As a perfect provision and usage of comparison matrix is impossible cause of cognitive limit, the most efficient method for improving the comparison effectiveness is the comparison challenge that detects the comparison elements of the largest buyer's information efficiency, and then to be compared between elementary products selectively. This research verifies the substantial superiority of comparison challenge through television market data experiments.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze pricing strategies between conventional offline retailers and Internet retailers and discuss which strategy is more profitable when a bricks-and-mortar firm transforms into a clicks-and-mortar firm.

Recently, lots of EDI-VAN (Electronic Data Interchange-Value Added Network) companies challenge to convert their business systems into Web-based e-business frameworks to avoid high cost and closed structure of EDI system. This research proposes e-Transformation strategies for EDI-VAN companies to adopt Web-based e-business standard frameworks such as ebXML (e-business using XML) and RosettaNet. Four migration strategies for EDI companies are presented, and their properties are described in detail. Transformation procedures of two representative strategies are also provided fur the convenience of medium-sized companies. The result of this work can be used as a practical guideline for EDI companies to develop there own transformation strategy suitable to its scale and capability, while minimizing the impacts on the pre-existing business processes.

This study identified online information characteristics and investigated the effects of information characteristics on word of mouth performance in online environment. And the comsumer knowledge was found to be a moderator of the relationship between information characteristics and WOM performance in online environment. The implication of this work to both researchers and practitioners were discussed.

While the client-vendor relationship has been mainly examined from the service receiver's perspective in IS outsourcing literature, the vendor's factors have seldom been explored. To address this issue, our study adopts interaction process theory and develops the model focusing on the competence of the vendor as a key antecedent of the client-vendor relationship intensity and outsourcing success. Results from empirical data gathered from Korean firms indicate that the vendor competence factors identified in this paper positively impacts the client-vendor relationship and outsourcing success. The findings have significant implications for IS outsourcing practices and further research.

This is the research on the new services which are called Korean blog, personal media, etc and which showed large increase in usage rate in 2004. In spite of this increase there has been no effort to conceptualize these services. So, we researched whether these new services constituted an independent domain, in what aspects they were different with other established services, how could we conceptualize them with an appropriate name, what were characteristics of them. We used Interview and Delphi method with the participation of professionals in charge of planning and operating these services in 4 major service providers.

Many studies have been conducted to classify documents, and to extract useful information from documents. However, most search engines have used a keyword based method. This method does not search and classify documents effectively. This paper identifies structures of XML document based on the fact that the XML document has a structural document using a set theory, which is suggested by Broder, and attempts a test for clustering XML document by applying a k-nearest neighbor algorithm. In addition, this study investigates the effectiveness of the clustering technique for large scaled data, compared to the existing bitmap method, by applying a test, which reveals a difference between the clause based documents instead of using a type of vector, in order to measure the similarity between the existing methods.

As the workflow systems are becoming complex and obscure, there are discrepancies between actual workflow process and designed process. Therefore, we have developed techniques for discovering workflow models. The starting point for such techniques is a so-called 'workflow log' containing information about the workflow process as it is actually being executed. This paper presents an algorithm of workflow process mining based on heuristic approach from the workflow log, which can be happen to business process system.

Our goal is aimed at positive-analyzing how quality level of mobile banking service is composed of by 22 questions from SERVQUAL of existing PZB. As a result of positive-analysis, 4 different factors-reliability, empathy, tangibilities, assurance- were deduced, different with 5 levels. Responsiveness is absorbed other dimensions. Also, we tried to find out the appropriate method between SERVQUAL method, showing the difference between the consumers' expectations and the assessment of the actual performance, and model of SERVPERF, measuring performance recognized points while dealing with the concept of SERVQUAL to scale the service qualities of mobile banking.

For widespread adoption for the RFID technology, RFID middleware is considered as the key enabler of the RFID evolution while it manages the flow of data between tag readers and enterprise applications and is responsible for the quality, and therefore usability, of the information. In this paper, we introduce the recent researches and developments of RFID middleware and explain the software framework of the RFID middleware which is currently developed in ETRI. Web services provide an effective means to carry out coordinated transactions between multiple, independent business parties. While there are several specific protocols currently being discussed to address the coordination of web services-enabled business transactions, we consider the tentative hold protocol (THP) that allows the placement of tentative holds on business resources prior to actual transactions in order to provide increased flexibility in coordination. In this paper, we present a formal coordination framework for applying THP in conjunction with 2PC to the problem in which service providers independently manage resources and clients seek to acquire the resources from multiple providers as a single atomic transaction. The proposed framework facilitates the performance optimization of THP through effective parameterization with the notion of overhold size and hold duration. The simulation results show that the proposed adaptive approach yields a significant improvement over other non-adaptive policies.

The popularity of web services within the IT industry continues to grow as the next generation web technologies. Web services are self·contained, self-describing, modular applications that can be published, located, and invoked across the Web. Web services will be core technology for e-business in the Web. IPv6 is sometimes also called the Next Generation Internet Protocol and is a new version of IP which is designed to be an evolutionary step from IPv4. In this paper, we define problems for adapting web services to IPv6 Environment. This paper survey and explain consideration issues that include standards, components, coexistence of IPv6 and IPv4, etc.

The Web Services Choreogaphy Description Language (WS-CDL) is an XML-based language that describes peer-to-peer collaborations of parties by defining, from a global viewpoint, their common and complementary observable behavior; where ordered message exchanges result in accomplishing a common business goal. In this paper, we survey and analysis the functionality of the WS-CDL, and propose new language, which enhance the WS-CDL for the conversation the message between entities.

In this work, we have investigated the national economic effects of the ubiquitous industry(UI) for a u-Korea(ubiquitous Korea) project. Since the UI are now playing the more and more important role in Korean economy, it will be very appropriate to provide the policy makers with the accurate and reliable information regarding the role of UI in the national economy. This paper employs input-output analysis to examine the impacts of UI while carefully taking into account the unique situations of Korea. The meaningful results have been obtained by utilizing the rich experiences of the UI. To be more specific, the economic effects of UI on the production-inducing, added value-inducing, export & import-inducing and employments have been addressed in the work.

Continual attempt to accumulate and apply information eventually gives birth to the concept of the 'Semantic Web'. Thus, the 'Semantic Web' can be defined as a product of mankind's desire to standardize information. A term of knowledge is used as information or data in computer science. These are regarded and are divided sometimes each other in terminologies that have similar meaning. If it is divided, knowledge is different from information. However, some kind of information in Knowledge Representation is called knowledge often if it can be expressed in computing system. Therefore, knowledge representation can talk as information representation. The purpose of the study is systematizing knowledge through knowledge representation that uses Delphi technique and ontology is designed by utilizing assistance editor called protege-2000 to construct semantic web environment's ontology. Level of interest regarding the construction and evaluation of search systems based on ontology is set to increase. If defined well, semantic can reflect human's thinking to knowledge information on web. Furthermore systematizes knowledge, search of information and comprehension about Jeju tour using present computer may be done intelligence.

This paper is a study on the model that measures economic values for the non-market properties of e-Business. For development of this model, first of all, we reviewed the properties of e-Business service, and looked around the relation between customer satisfaction and/or payment value and e-Business properties. In addition, we checked the method to measure economic values of these properties. This measurement method is the contingent valuation method which is a method of measuring the value of the environmental product. We modified it to adapt to the e-Business. Finally, in this paper, we proposed an economic value model which measures the value of willingness to pay(WTP) to our objectives. However, there could be some restrictions at the time when surveying empirically. Therefore, the succeeding study should be done in order to improve these restrictions some day.

This paper is a research on the dynamic signature verification of error rate which are false rejection rate and false acceptance rate, the size of signature verification engine, the size of the characteristic vectors of a signature, the ability to distinguish similar signatures, and so on. We suggest feature extraction and comparison method of the signature verification. Also, we have implemented our system with Java technology for more efficient user interfaces and various OS Platforms.
