  • Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP), an alkaloid rich in Ligusticum wallichii and fermented products, possesses multiple pharmacological activities in antioxidant, antiinflammatory, and antibacterial. This study aimed to investigate the effect of TMP (15 mg/L) on the physicochemical and gelation properties of rabbit myofibrillar proteins (MPs) with/without oxidative stress. Results showed that compared to the control, oxidative stress to MPs decreased free thiol content, gel yield, whiteness, water-holding capacity, bounder water, immobilized water, and endogenous tryptophan fluorescence intensity, but increased surface hydrophobicity, dityrosine content, and free water content (p<0.01). Without oxidative stress, MPs treated with TMP increased free thiol content, whiteness, and bound water, but decreased dityrosine content and free water (p<0.05). Under oxidative conditions, all parameters were conversely affected by TMP (p<0.01). The results suggest that TMP can be an antioxidant to decrease the concern on oxidative deterioration during meat processing and storage by improving the oxidative stability, water retention, and gel forming property of rabbit MPs.

  • In this study, In order to prevent the safety accidents caused by the sliding, to develop the non-slip grating, the stability judgment based on the span length of the grating and the gap of the bearing bar is performed. The structural analysis of Grating was carried out in accordance with the provisions set out in Grating's load-bearing test conditions. As the span length increases, the deflection increases and the stress and span length tend to be proportional to each other. It was shown that the larger the span, the linear increase in stress and exponential increase in deformation of grating. The maximum stress of grating was approximately 58.2 MPa, indicating a very stable safety rate of about 4.3 compared to the yield strength of the grating material. Based on these results, it will be able to be utilized as the basic data for determining the optimal dimensions of non-slip grading by performing optimal designs in the future.

  • In this paper, we study the analytical and approximate solutions for a fractional quadratic integral equation involving Katugampola fractional integral operator. The existence and uniqueness results obtained in the given arrangement are not only new but also yield some new particular results corresponding to special values of the parameters 𝜌 and ϑ. The main results are obtained by using Banach fixed point theorem, Picard Method, and Adomian decomposition method. An illustrative example is given to justify the main results.

  • The effects of phenol during ethylene carbonate (EC) liquefaction of pine bark in the presence of methanesulfonic acid (MSA) as a catalyst were investigated. Liquefaction of pine bark using EC in the presence of acid catalyst was very difficult in comparison to wood. Mixing ethylene glycol (EG) with EC improved the liquefaction process, but the maximum liquefaction yield did not exceed 78%. Mixing 20~30% phenol with EC was very effective for the liquefaction and the residue was remarkably decreased. More than 95% of liquefaction was achieved when about 30% phenol was mixed with EC. The reaction conditions, such as catalyst concentration, liquefaction temperature and time, type of catalyst and liquefying agent, had a great influence on the liquefaction process. The results of the average molecular weights and the amount of combined phenols for the liquefied products indicated that sulfuric acid (SA) causes high condensation reactions compared to MSA.

  • The distributed-parameter structures expressed with the partial differential equations are considered as the infinite-dimensional dynamic system. For implementation of a controller in multivariate systems, it is necessary to derive the state-space reduced order model. By the eigensystem realization algorithm, we can yield tile subspace system with the Markov parameters derived from the measured frequency response function by the inverse discrete Fourier transformation. We also review the necessary conditions for the convergence of the approximation system and the error bounds in terms of the singular values of Markov-parameter matrices. To determine the natural frequencies and modal damping ratios, the modal coordinate transformation is applied to the realization system. The vibration test for a smart structure is performed to provide the records of frequency response functions used in the subspace system realization.

  • Precipitation and purification of amylase secreted by Streptomyces aureofaciens 77 in liquid inorganic salts-starch medium under the optimum conditions were carried out. Ammonium sulphate fractionation was used to precipitate amylase in cell free culture filtrate. (NH/sub 4/)/sub 2/ SO/sub 4/ at a concentration of 50-70% saturation gave the highest enzyme yield. The obtained precipitates were redissolved in phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) and subjected to dialysis. The dialyzed enzyme preparation was applied to DEAE-cellulose column chromatography which resulted in an increase of purification up to 59.48 fold. A further step of purification was done by applying the obtained purified sample to Sephadex-G200 column chromatography which resulted in ann increase of purification up to 73. 92 fold. The results clearly indicated that the isolated amylase from S. aureofaciens 77 was only on type.

  • To produce activated carbon fibers, the process is carried out through either physical activation method or chemical activation method. In this study, we present the results regarding the characteristics of activated carbon fibers manufactured under various conditions through the quantitative control of steam. The yield after activation indicates a decreasing trend with the increase in steam quantity and activation time. Additionally, specific surface area characteristics exhibit variations based on activation time and steam flow rate. The SEM analysis results reveal that higher steam flow rates lead to the presence of both mesopores and macropores on the surface of activated carbon fibers (ACF).

  • As semiconductor processes require several nanometers precision, the importance of motor control is increasing in semiconductor equipment. Due to unpredictable uncertainties such as friction and mechanical vibrations achieving precise position control in semiconductor processes is challenging. The internal model principle-based controller is a control technique that ensures robust steady-state performance by incorporating a model of the reference and disturbance. The disturbance observer-based controller is a prominent robust control technique implemented to cope with various nonlinearities and uncertainties. Provided that the two controllers can be designed to exhibit equivalent performance under certain conditions, this paper demonstrates through experiments that they yield identical results for the case of a BLDC position control problem. The experimental results also indicate that they can offer enhanced robustness compared with the conventional PID controller in the presence of a time-varying disturbance.
