직장인의 건강행위와 운동프로그램 요구도 (Health Behaviors and Perceived Needs for Exercise Programs among Adults in the Workforce)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine perceived needs for exercise programs among adults in the workforce based on sociodemographic characteristics and health-related behaviors. Methods: The sample consisted of 182 office workers, sales workers, and service workers recruited at a worksite in Seoul (97 males and 85 females, Mean age=34.6, SD=7.71). Study participants completed a structured questionnaire on health-related behaviors and areas of needs for exercise programs. Analysis of data was performed using descriptive statistics and chi-square tests. Results: Workers with greater interest in exercise reported to engage in exercise. Significant differences were observed in goals of exercise, preferred exercise, preferred methods for delivery of exercise, preferred exercise monitoring, and social support for exercise maintenance according to age, sex, marital status, education, commuting time, occupation, alcohol use, smoking, and current participation in exercise. There were no differences in areas of exercise program needs by consumption of high calorie foods. Conclusion: Public health nurses can use these findings for development and implementation of tailored exercise programs to promote health for workers whose physical activity is insufficient.

석유화학단지 근로자들의 건강행위 실천 정도와 건강증진 요구도 (Practices and Needs of Health Promotion Program among Workers in A Petrochemical Industry Complex)

  • Objectives: To propose the basic data for the development of the optimum health promotion program (HPP) for the workers in a petrochemical industry complex. Methods: The subjects were 553 workers who worked at the six plants in a petrochemical industry complex. From February to March 2003, questionnaire survey was conducted by the nurses with occupational health specialty about the life styles, interests, self-cognitions, practices of health behavior, subjective symptoms thought to be related the working environments, burden to the own health, needs and intentions to participation of the HPP. Data analysis was done using SPSS program (ver 10.0) with ${\alpha}=0.05$ of statistical significance. Results: The mean age and tenure of the subjects were 39.7 years and 14.2 years, respectively, and proportion of smokers was around 50%. Two of third (66%) satisfied their own job, and 58% recognized themselves healthy. The most frequent health behavior were exercise (60%) and regular health check (87%) in individual and job based, respectively. About half of them (58%) had at least one of the symptoms thought to be related the working environments, and the most frequent one was odor (21%). These symptoms were more frequent in case of the shorter career. The needs of HPP was relatively higher in exercise (66%), cancer prevention (51%), stress control (47%), and intention to participation was also the highest in exercise (64%). Job satisfaction was higher in case of the higher interests and cognitions to their own health, and thought that the ownership's interest to workers' health be high (p<0.01), but no associations with the subjective symptoms. The mean level of burden to the own health were $14.1{\pm}13.9$ of physical, $11.7{\pm}13.6$ of emotional, $9.1{\pm}10.7$ of behavioral as out of one hundred. They felt the more burden in case of office workers, the lower interests and cognitions to their own health, the lower satisfaction to their job, the frequent drinking group, and complained the subjective symptoms (p<0.05). Abnormal results of the regular health check was higher in the frequent drinking group (p=0.083). Conclusions: For the optimum HPP for the workers in the petrochemical complex, the ownership's interest to workers' health would be enhanced, and the priority would be focused on exercise and drinking habits control.

농촌 치유관광객의 여가활동 참여, 심리적 자본, 삶의 질의 구조관계 분석 (A Structural Relationships among Leisure Activity, Psychological Capital, and Quality of Life in Rural Healing Tourists)

  • This study aims to examine the structural relationships among leisure activity, psychological capital, and quality of life in rural healing tourists. Data were collected from 407 workers who had experience in rural healing tourism through an online survey. SPSS 28.0 and AMOS 28.0 were used for frequency, confirmatory factor, and structural equation modelling analysis. The results of structural equation modelling indicate participation in leisure activities had a positive effect on psychological capital. Psychological capital had a positive effect on quality of life. The results of this study suggest that leisure activities play an important role in improving workers' psychological capital. Through rural healing tourism, various outdoor activities, cultural activities, and social interaction with people using rural resources can help improve the psychological capital of workers.

모바일 헬스를 활용한 지역사회 참여: 연구유형 분석과 방향 제언 (Mobile health for community participation: Research patterns and directions)

  • Objectives: This study aims to examine the trends of mobile-health research in terms of community participation. Methods: A set of 24 peer-reviewed articles were identified for review. Two authors independently reviewed the articles using a literature review matrix and reexamined as a team. Review categories include: general characteristics, research methods, levels and ranges of community participation, and research topics. Results: Most of the articles were published in 2013-2014, including one domestic paper. Multidisciplinary approaches were used in 65% of the studies. Community participation was at low or mid-levels of Arnstein's participation model. In mobile-health research so far, the level of participation tends to improve as more diverse stakeholders participate in health promotion initiatives with mobile-health. The review yielded five types of mobile-health research for community health promotion: improving the quality of primary healthcare through the community health workers' capacity enhancement; improving the data collection capabilities; facilitating exchanges of community information and resources; reinforcing community identity; and monitoring physical environment of the communities. Conclusions: Although at an early stage of research development, application of mobile-health to community health promotion via participation has a potential. Multi-disciplinary approaches should be fostered for further development.

한국 이주 노동자의 '사이버 공동체'에 관한 연구 (The Study on The Cyber Communities of Migrant Workers in Korea)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한국 이주 노동자의 근접성 없는 공동체 중 사이버 공동체의 특성과 공동체에서 형성되고 재생산되는 사회적 자본과 한국 사회에서의 문화적응과 관련성에 대한 고찰이다. 연구 결과 이주 노동자 사이버 공동체 참여 특성에 의하면 민족 단위의 사이버 공동체와 비 민족 공동체 간에는 응집의 강도, 공간 제한성, 외부 사회와의 연결성 등에서 차이가 나타났다. 민족단위의 공동체는 '국지화된 공동체' 유형의 특징을 보이고 있으며 주된 참여 동기는 협업과 공유 보다는 구성원 간의 '소통과 친목, 교류' 등이며 이를 위해 소통 관계형 매체를 주로 이용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 비해 비 민족 단위의 공동체는 '통합형' 유형의 특징을 지니고 있으며 '필요한 정보를 획득하기 위해서' 참여하는 비율이 비교적 높으며 가입 절차의 까다로움이나 한국어로 정보가 제공되는 점 등이 참여의 어려움으로 부각되고 있다. 사이버 공동체 내부에서 이주 노동자 속성에 따른 사회자본의 유의미한 추의는 보이지 않았으나 사회자본 요소인 신뢰, 규범, 네트워크, 정치 참여의 네 범주는 서로 유의한 관련성을 보이고 있다. 사이버 공동체 사회 자본이 한국 사회에서의 통합형 문화적응에 정비례적인 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타나고 있으며 특히 이주 노동자의 사이버 공동체에서 형성되는 정치 이슈 토론, 개인(인권) 문제 토로, 시민운동 참여 등이 다문화사회에서의 문화적응과 밀접한 관련성이 있음을 보여주고 있다. 이와 같은 연구의 결과로 한국 이주노동자의 사이버 공동체가 한국의 원 문화와 이주 문화가 소통하고 통합되는 부분에서 중요한 매개로 작동되고 있음을 알 수 있으며 향후 긍정적인 사회 문화적 호명의 대상이 될 필요성이 있음을 확인할 수 있다.

도장 근로자의 작업 환경 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors affecting the degree of Satisfaction with Workers' Working Environment engaging in Painting Process)

  • This study was performed to find out factors affecting degree of satisfaction with workers' working environment. The study subjects were 165 workers who were working at painting process of twelve furniture manufacturing factories in Incheon area. We used self-administered questionnaire containing general characteristics, working conditions, the degree of satisfaction with working environment, and the degree of satisfaction with working condition. In addition, we measured the exposure levels of occupational hazardous agents. The results were as follows; 1. Correlations between the degree of satisfaction with workers' working environment and the measured of occupational hazardous agents did not affect the degree of satisfaction with workers' working environment. 2. Factors affecting the degree of satisfaction with workers' working environment were not the exposure levels of occupational hazardous agents, but the degree of satisfaction with working condition, size of industry, health status, and types of ventilation system. As the degree of satisfaction with working condition was increased, the degree of satisfaction with working environment was increased. Also, for the workers who had good health status, the degree of satisfaction with work environment was appeared to be high. To increase the degree of satisfaction, with workers' working environment, firstly, effective work management and production control are required. Also, the worker's effort to negotiate continuously with top manager on improving working conditions is required. Secondly, developing heath promotion program to be appropriate for the characteristics of worksite is required. Moreover, leading worker's participation in health promotion program is very important to increase the degree of satisfaction with workers' working environment.

안전보건관리자가 인식하는 효과적인 사업장 안전보건교육 내용과 방법에 관한 다차원적 분석 (Multidimensional Analyses on Effective Contents and Methods of Safety and Health Education Perceived by Safety and Health Managers at Workplace)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze safety and health managers' perceptual maps on the effective educational contents and its methods of workplace safety and health education. Self-administered survey was successfully conducted to 582 workers who were 339 in manufacturing, 68 in construction, and 175 in service & others by industry classification. Survey sites were recruited based on business size, incidence of occupational accident, and compliance of workplace safety and health education regulation. Questionnaire included personal factors, workplace factors, and needs of safety and health education at work. Male workers were 85.3% and more than 50% were in their 30s and had university education. Overall needs of educational contents and its methods were greater in manufacturing and services than construction. Two dimensional properties of effective educational contents perceived were 'knowledge structure' which divided to safety and health, and 'behavior outcomes' which divided to indirect and direct. Two dimensional properties of educational methods were 'class activity' which divided to experience-based and verbal-based and 'class participation' which divided to passive and active. Effective educational contents and its methods perceived by safety and health managers commonly included the characteristics of direct, case-based, and participation.

근로소득자들의 연말정산 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on satisfaction of year-end-settlement for employee)

  • 본 연구는 근로소득자들이 매년 실시하는 연말정산제도의 인지정도에 따라 세법이 정하고 있는 소득공제 효과와 연말정산에 대한 참여도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지와 그를 통해 나타나는 근로소득자들의 연말정산 결과에 대한 만족도를 고찰하였으며 실증분석을 통해 얻은 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 근로소득자들의 연말정산제도에 대해 인지정도가 높을수록 소득공제 효과에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 연말정산제도 인지정도가 연말정산 참여도에도 중요한 선행요인임을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 근로소득자들의 연말정산제도에 대한 인지정도가 높을수록 연말정산 결과에 대한 만족도에는 직접적으로 영향을 주지 못하는 것으로 나타났지만, 소득공제효과와 연말정산 참여도를 통해서 연말정산 결과 만족도로 연결되는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 근로소득자들의 연말정산제도에 대한 인지정도가 높을수록 적극적으로 연말정산에 참여하게 되어 연말정산 결과 만족도에도 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인했다. 즉 근로소득자들에 대한 연말정산 제도에 대한 교육과 홍보뿐만 아니라 소득공제 효과를 향상시킬 수 있는 세법 개정을 통해 연말정산에 대한 적극적인 참여를 유도하여 연말정산에 대한 결과 만족도를 향상시킬 필요가 있다는 점을 시사한다.

중소기업 일·학습병행제의 훈련 참여 이유에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reasons for Participation in the Training of the Work-Learning Parallel Program)

  • 본 연구는 2013년에 선 취업 후 진학 정책으로 시작된 일·학습병행 훈련은 많은 기업참여가 훈련의 성패를 결정짓는 중요한 요소이다. 기업참여 장려를 위한 다양한 제도적 보완이 필요한 시기로서 본 연구에서는 일·학습병행에 참여 기업의 참여 요인을 확인하기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해 충남지역에서 일·학습병행에 참여하는 기업을 대상으로 참여이유에 대한 설문조사를 실시하여 그 결과를 구조방정식 모형을 활용하여 인과 관계 분석을 하였다. 연구 결과로는 기업의 일·학습병행 참여 이유로 첫째, 교육훈련비 등 정부지원금 수령이 84%로 높게 나타났다. 둘째로, 일·학습병행 근로자가 일반근로자보다 급여를 적게 줄 수 있어서가 66% 나타났으며, 셋째로는 현장직의 신입 사원 채용이 용이해서가 51%, 기업에서 자체적으로 인력을 양성이 필요해서 26%로, 특별한 이유는 없이 지인 등의 권유가 17% 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 향후 일·학습병행제 훈련참여가 경영의 운영비, 직원의 이직관리, 인력양성 등에 기여하고 있다는 것을 밝혔다는데 연구의 시사점이 있다. 향후 연구에서는 표본을 전국을 대상으로 지역별, 직종별, 성별, 임금별, 근속연수별 등의 연구를 실시하여 검정과 추정을 세분화하는 연구가 필요하다.

Online Crowdsourcing Platform Continuous Participation During COVID-19: A Low-income Group Perspective in Malaysia

  • The crowdsourcing system relies heavily on the number of crowd participation on the platform to ensure the platform's success. However, exploring factors that motivate the crowds to sustain on the platform remains unclear, and very little literature was found on this matter. Lately, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the world, including Malaysia. Due to the pandemic, many people have lost their jobs, and hence, most of them have shifted to digital work. Hence, to understand the motivation for continuous participation on the online crowdsourcing platform among low-income crowd workers (B40) in Malaysia, this paper explores the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations for continuous participation. A qualitative method interview was performed where 14 active participants of Upwork.com, under the GLOW program, took part during the data collection process. This paper used the thematic analysis method to extract the data collected from this study. The finding of this study identified eight intrinsic motivation factors: (1) personal development, (2) pastime, (3) fun, (4) passion, (5) task identity, (6) time-workplace flexibility, (7) altruistic, and (8) peers' success and four extrinsic factors: (1) monetary, (2) job security, (3) personal commitment, and (4) environment.
