The Effect of Need Criteria on Information Searches and Types of Buying Task of Apparel Buyers in Department Store (백화점 의류 바이어의 정보탐색과 구매과업의 유형에 대한 욕구기준의 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to identify buyers' need criteria on product/vendor selection criteria of apparel buyers in department store and to investigate the relatonships among buyers' need criteria, information search behavior, types of buying task and influential factors on buying behavior of buyers(individual characteristics, organizational characteristics, and customer perception characteristics). A questionnaire was developed to measure research subjects based on theoretical study empirically. The questionnaire was administered to 159 apparel buyers of 11 department stores in Seoul. The results of empirical studies were summarized as follows. 1. The need criteria of buyers on product/vendor selection criteria were classified into five types : vendor characteristics; quality characteristics; price characteristics; brand characteristics; product characteristics and the need criteria differed significantly by influencing factors on buying behavior of buyers. 2. There were no relationships between information types and amounts of information search but information types differed significantly by need criteria and individual characteristics 3. Types of buying task were significantly different according to need criteria of buyers and organizational characteristics. 4. Buying policy of department store was significantly different according to organizational characteristics.

Internet Addictive Levels and Addictive Buying Behavior - Focusing on Fashion Products - (인터넷 중독정도(中毒定度)에 따른 중독구매행동(中毒購買行動)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) - 패션제품(製品)을 중심(中心)으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study were to examine 1) the relationship between internet addictive and addictive buying behavior, and 2) addictive purchasing behavior according to internet addictive levels. 220 female college students, who had purchased fashion products through internet were surveyed for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, $X^2$-test, ANOVA, Duncan test, and multiple regression were used. As the results, generally Internet addictive tendency was correlated to compulsive buying, shopping addictive, credit card addictive, self-esteem, and internet flow. Also, there were significantly differences in internet addictive levels with addictive buying behavior. That is, heavy internet addictive group had more shopping addictive, compulsive addictive, and internet flow than middle internet addictive group and light internet addictive group. Also, results revealed that compulsive buying, shopping addictive buying, internet flow and self-esteem accounted for 27.3% of the explained variance in internet addictive tendency. Based on these results, fashion marketing strategies would be suggested.

The Effects of Twenties Women's Fashion Color Reception on Clothing Purchase (20대 여성의 유행색 수용도가 의복구매에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study are to examine the relation between twenties women consumer's fashion-color reception and clothing purchase behaviors, and to propose the most effective plans of color-marketing. A questionnaire survey examined 384 persons' opinions in total. First, consumers are classified into 3 groups. according to their preferring colors and the degrees of their concerning : 'type of leading fashion-color', 'type of following fashion-color', and 'type of being indifferent to fashion-color'. Second, this study analyzed the factors of consumers' clothes-purchasing motives. : all consumer groups showed their purchasing motives in the order of 'aesthetic sense'-pursuit factor. 'sensitivity'-pursuit factor, and 'actual profit and sociality'-pursuit factor. Third, the types of consumers' purchasing clothes were divided into 2 groups: type of planned buying. And type of unplanned buying. And the relations between the above 2 groups and purchasing motives were investigated, as a result. it was proved that the consumers who have the purchasing motives of 'sensitivity'-pursuit and 'actual profit and sociality'-pursuit conducted 'planned buying'. Fourth. the relations between motive of clothing purchase and the type of purchase behavior were examined by consumer group : in the consumer group of leading fashion-color, the more did they have the purchasing motives of 'sensitivity'-pursuit or 'actual profit and sociality'-pursuit, the more did they conduct' planned buying'. In the fashion-color following group, the more did they have the purchasing motives of 'sensitivity'-pursuit or 'actual profit and sociality'-pursuit, the more did they conduct 'unplanned buying'.

Compulsive Buying and It's Related Variables among Urban Housewives (도시주부의 강박적 구매행동 및 그 관련변인)

  • This article reports on a study designed to investigate the nature of compulsive-like buying behavior among the normal urban housewives. A previously tested compulsive buying scale was administered to a sample of 566 urban housewives. As predicted by the hypotheses, compulsive buying tendencies correlate negatively with self-esteem and life satisfaction: positively with materialism, early consumption experience, one's susceptibility to social influence, advertising of women journal, irrational credit card usage. But age, education, and family income don't explain compulsive buying tendencies. Several other findngs are reported and discussed. Areas where further research should be done are suggested.

  • The purposes of this study were,1) to examine the clothing purchase behaviors of the elderly, and 2) to investigate the relationships of clothing purchase behaviors, information source, service quality and clothing buying motive, which may provide insights related to the silver market. Data were obtained for women in their 50's and 60's women living in Busan (N=285), and analyzed using to factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, ANOVA and Duncan test. The research findings of the research wereare asan follows. The elderlys women bought clothes with their her friends, used credit cards, and usually shopped at the department stores. There were partly significant (Ed- it cannot be 'partly' either it was significant or it was not) differences in clothing purchase behaviors, information source, and service quality by clothing buying motive types. The ostentation group considered more massmideamass mediainformation sources and experience/salespersons/observation information sources, more was higher than the economic group and utility groups. The ostentation group and economical groups attached more importance to Facilities Service and Policy Service in service quality, was higher than the utility group. The Iimplications and drawn from the study results for the information will be useful to consumer behavior researchers and retailers of the silver market.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the lifestyle of women in their 50's and 60's and to provide the basis fur the efficient strategy of silver market by classifying women in their 50's and 60's according to lifestyle types and investigating the effect of consumers' lifestyle and demographic characteristics on consumers' clothing evaluation criteria and buying place. In this study, a selfㆍadministered questionnaire was distributed to women in their 50's and 60's. 226 questionnaires of 350 were used in the following analysis. The data were analyzed with the SPSS package. The results of this study were as follows. First, lifestyle were analyzed to find out the underlying factors, and then the subjects were grouped according to factor scores by the cluster analysis. Four lifestyle types were defined. They were the traditional family-oriented, the ostentatious purchase, the economical material-oriented, the active economics-oriented type. Second, a consumer's clothing evaluation criteria were classified according to three characteristics - aesthetic, practical and ostentatious. A consumer's clothing evaluation criteria were significantly different depending on the consumer's lifestyle and demographic characteristics. All lifestyle types except ostentatious purchase type considered practical characteristic like easiness of washing/care, harmony with other clothing, quality and price. The higher education, income and clothing expense, the more a customer considered ostentatious characteristic like fashionability and reputation of brand in selection of clothing.

  • The Purposes of this study are to analyze fashion trading area's conditions of Busan area to establish fashion marketing strategies for the conditions of location in choosing the new retailers and to propose the most efficient, optimum fashion trading area(FTA) under the management mind of low cost and high efficiency according to the changes of 21C management paradigm. The subjects of investigation for this study were 1083 women visited FTA in Busan. The data were analyzed by using MANOVA, ANOVA, frequency and trend analysis, and the Cronabach $\alpha$ and Turkey HSD were also applied. The results of this study were summarized as follows. 1 The characteristics of consumer spatial behavior according to fashion trading area show significant difference in starling position, movement means, movement time, visit purpose and visit frequency. 2 The buying behavior of fashion items according to fashion trading area shows difference in fashion trading area shows difference in fashion trading area, store and buying behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is how it affect them what the effect of skin recognition on the purchasing behavior and propensity to buy facial cleanser in 311 women in their 20s and 50s. This study analyzed by importance, interest, and satisfaction of skin recognition, and type of impulse buying, type of depending on brand, type of planning buying. The group with high interest in skin recognition had a long time to clean. As they got a purchasing information the group with low knowledge had the information from nearby, and the group with high knowledge got information from internet. At the view of purchasing propensity the women who are highly interested in the skin have a tendency of type of impulse buying and type of planning buying, and the women with high skin importance are less inclined to type of impulse buying. In conclusion, Skin recognition uses purchasing behavior and propensity to buy facial cleanser.

A Study on Addiction Toward Luxury Product (명품 중독(名品 中毒)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this study was to examine affecting the addictive buying behavior toward fashion luxury products. 227 female college students were who purchased fashion luxury products surveyed for this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and multiple regression were used. As the results, addictive buying toward luxury products was classified into three factors: impulse addictive, money addictive, and psychological addictive. Also, consumers' individuality pursuit was classified into four factors: unique choice, non-similarity choice, individual choice and non-social interest. Multiple regression results revealed that impulse buying, stress, and unique choice accounted for 38% of the explained variance in addictive buying toward luxury products. Also, regression results indicated that impulse buying, stress, unique choice and reference group accounted for 38% of the explained variance in impulse addictive buying. Finally, regression results pointed out that unique choice and impulse accounted 24% of the explained variance in psychological addictive buying. Based on these results, fashion social responsibility marketing strategies would be suggested.

  • As in our $20^{th}$ century, the dramatic advance of the science and medical technologies has led the advance of living standards. Even though the elderly people are increasing, the underwear for elderly women is not so various. As getting older, women's body shape is changing. But the most of underwear in the market are designed for the twenties whose body shape and proportion is generally stable. Besides, as the color and material of underwear are designed for young women, the elderly women have a poor choice of the underwear. The results of this study are listed in the following: (a) analyzing the current status of the underwear market for elderly women (b) searching what elderly take inconvenience in underwear, and (c) wearing test for search what elderly take inconvenience in brassier.
