This paper deals with the development of universal algebras. We first investigate how the abstract algebra has emerged as a common generalization of arithmetic and algebra of logic, which was finalized by A. N. Whitehead in his "A treatise on universal algebra with applications." And we investigate also the process of formalizing universal algebras by G. Birkhoff. Birkhoff.

A rare case of telangiectatic osteosarcoma of the sphenoid bone was reported. The patient was a 27-year-old male and had suffered from left eye protrusion and diplopia for three months. Radiologically, a lobulated osteolytic lesion was located between sphenoid and left temporal bone. Pathologically, the tumor had multiloculated blood filled cystic vascular spaces and osteoid formation by malignant spindle osteoblast cells. The differential diagnosis of this rare entity from aneurysmal bone cyst was important radiologically and pathologically. This case is the second case of telangiectatic osteosarcoma of the sphenoid bone followed by a case of Whitehead RE and Melhem ER in 1998.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors affecting the mental health status of children from multicultural families in South Korea. Methods: This study was based on Dahlgren and Whitehead's (1991) rainbow model as a conceptual framework and used data from the second phase of the multicultural adolescents panel study conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute. Multiple logistic regression analysis was performed using SPSS version 26.0, with p<.05 considered to indicate statistical significance. Results: In the final model, stress (odds ratio [OR]=0.53, p<.001), life satisfaction (OR=2.09, p=.004), self-esteem (OR=1.73, p=.032), and peer support (OR=1.46, p=.019) affected the mental health status of children from multicultural families. The living and working conditions and general socioeconomic, cultural, and environmental conditions did not significantly influence the mental health status of children from multicultural families in the final model. Conclusion: As components of Dahlgren and Whitehead's model, individual hereditary and lifestyle factors, as well as social and community networks, affected the mental health status of children from multicultural families. Therefore, in order to improve the mental health of children from multicultural families, efforts are needed to alleviate their stress, increase life satisfaction and self-esteem, and strengthen their social support.

We construct a family of hyperbolic 3-manifolds by pairwise identifications of faces in the boundary of certain polyhedral 3-balls and prove that all these manifolds are cyclic branched coverings of the 3-sphere over certain family of links with two components. These extend some results from [5] and [10] concerning with the branched coverings of the whitehead link.

In this paper we generalize the Whitehead theorem which says that a homology equivalence implies a homotopy equivalence for nilpotent spaces. We make some theorems on a homotopy equivalence of non-nilpotent spaces, e.g., the solvable space or space satisfying the condition (T**) or space X with $\pi$1(X) Engel, or locally nilpotent space with some properties. Furthermore we find some conditions that the Wall invariant will be trivial.

‘스웨덴 룬트공과대학에서는 건물계획에 있어서 컴퓨터해법의 사용에 대한 연구사업을 수행하였으며, 이 사업은 스웨덴국립건축연구소의 경제적 지수으로 이루어졌다. 본고에서 룬트대학의 연구생인 Cole씨는 이 사업의 일부를 기술하고 있다. 그는 여기서 주로 1층이상에 대한 Whitehead와 Eldars의 산술해법과 컴퓨터에 의하여 작성된 평면배치의 동선 정의에 따른 해법의 개발에 관하여 논한다. 프로그램이 그 일부를 차지하고 있는 설계체계는 각종 컴퓨터해법을 종합할 수 있도록 하는 체계개발의 시도라고 할수 있으며 이러한 종류의 시스템은 사실상 해법에 대한 직접적인 정보의 이용과 함께 건물의 다각적인 설계를 가능케 한다.

Let X be a simply connected rationally elliptic space such that H²(X; ℚ) ≠ 0. In this paper, we show that if H²ⁿ(X^[2n-2]; ℚ) = 0 or if π_2n(X²ⁿ) ⊗ ℚ = 0 for all n, then X is an F₀-space.

The concepts of laws like regularity or persistence or recurrence those are discovered in nature, became the essential elements in speculative philosophy, study and scientific technology. Western civilization was spread out by these natural laws. As this background, this study is aimed to research the theories of natural laws and the development of geometry as the descriptive tools and the development aspects of the concepts of space. According to Whitehead's four theories on the natural laws, the result of this study that aimed like that as follows. First, the theories on the immanence and imposition of the natural laws were the predominant ideas from ancient Greek to before the scientific revolution, the theory on the simple description like the positivism made the Newton-Cartesian mechanism and an absolutist world view. The theory on the conventional interpretation made the organicism and relativism world view according to non-Euclidean geometry. Second, the geometrical composition of ancient Greek architecture was an aesthetics that represented the immanence of natural laws. Third, in the basic symbol of medieval times, the numeral symbol was the frame of thought and was an important principal of architecture. Fourth, during the Renaissance, architecture was regarded as mathematics that made the order of universe to visible things and the geometry was regarded as an important architectural principal. Fifth, according to the non-Euclidean geometry, it was possible to present the natural phenomena and the universe. Sixth, topology made to lapse the division of traditional floor, wall and ceiling in contemporary architecture and made to build the continuous space. Seventy, the new nature was explained by fractal concepts not by Euclidean shapes, fractal presented that the essence of nature had not mechanical and linear characteristic but organic and non-linear characteristic.

Main focus of FPS game's play is securing vantage points in space based on specific theme and removing enemies. It could be more directly interacted with players' game space than other genres. This paper analyzes design patterns on FPS game of nine types consisted of three themes : past war, modern war, near future war, which is based on 10 different patterns of near future theme-oriented by Hullett and Whitehead. As an outcome, an important function of 'element of cover' was found additionally as a main pattern besides the 10 different patterns. And by analyzing its attributes, it is suggested the efficient way to use the 'cover' pattern for level-design. This result can be utilized as an empirical guideline for level-design of FPS games by theme.
