The purpose of study intends to investigate effects of repetitive work and workload for body while wearing firefighting protective clothing in hot conditions and to provide the basic data for the safety of firefighter. The experimental temperature is WBGT $30^{\circ}C$ and the work intensity is 3, 9 METs. The experiment is processed 15 minutes (Ex1), 15 minutes rest (Rest), 15 minutes (Ex2) in order of time. A comparative experiment was carried out for firefighting school students(9 persons; $24.3{\pm}0.71$ years old) wearing firefighting protective clothing. When workload is increased from 3 METs to 9 METs, mean skin temperature change (33.3%), tympanic temperature change (242.9%), heart rate (36.2%), respiration rate (53.9%), RPE (81.6%), thermal Sensation (20.8%), weight loss (60.0%), glucose (-4.4%), lactate (41.7%) are statistically significantly higher. As a result, it is considered that repetitive work and workload have a strong effect on the body when wearing firefighting protective clothing in hot conditions.
This study is basic material for development of a smart girdle. Through the intentionally sampling of 313 consumers from teenagers to the forties who have experienced wearing girdles, lifestyles on consumer's age, attitude to health, favor of warm functional girdle, and possibility to acceptance were surveyed and analyzed by questionnaire. The result of the study are summarized as followed. 1. Analysis about lifestyle with warmth and attitude to health showed that subjects in their thirties and forties have higher than teenagers and the twenties in frequency of distribution. This means people are tend to have more attention to warmth and health as they grow older. 2. In result about analysis of characteristic of wearing girdle, subjects were prefer girdle made of cotton which have superior permeability and hygroscopic property. The reason that wearing girdle is to complement of weak points of body somatotype in the thirties and forties and feel the stability during menstrual period in the twenties and teenagers. The time zone of putting on girdle is mainly winter while one is out wearing one-piece or skirt. 3. When surveyed about the preference to functional warmth girdle and possibility to acceptance, the results were that the subjects in their thirties were first, forty something was second, followed by subjects in their twenties, teenagers. It was shown that over 60% subjects were highly distributed. With regard to necessity of functional warmth girdle, every age groups were shown over 3.6 at average. This result was inferred that subjects had positive possibility to acceptance about functional warmth smart girdle.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the satisfaction of the adolescents' school backpack bag and the important criteria when purchasing for developing comfort and functional backpack. The questionnaire was composed and surveyed with 245 middle school students and the data were analyzed through SPSS 13.0. Purchasing criteria were grouped into 5: practical, shop environment, comfort, aesthetic and maintenance. Satisfaction factors were function/comfort, fashion/aesthetic and durability/A.S. 50.2% of students recognized the inappropriate wearing backpack might cause the deformation of body shape. And the wrong habit of wearing bag was found to affect the body posture of students. Main symptoms caused by wearing it for long time are ‘sweating around shoulder and back' and ‘feeling stiff in shoulders and waist'. Needs arise to develop the bag which could prevent them and to educate students how to wear bags. According to the result from MDS of purchasing criteria, one axis is product vs. environment, and other is functional vs. psychological aspects. According to the result from MDS of bag satisfaction, one axis is function/durability vs. fashion/appearance, and other is gestalt quality vs. part quality. They wanted the improvement in the aspects of shape/design, material, maintenance, comfort and usability of the bags. Specially it is required that we research the adolescent customer-oriented way and develop the new materials or shapes pursuing both shoulder comfort and characteristics.
This study is to provide basic data for the development of domestic ready-made shoes industry by illustrating any problem in regards to the ready-made shoes for ordinary salary men through looking into its uses and gratifications. Subjects for this study were in between twenties and sixties by applying convenient random sampling method, which was done in January to February, 2001. The results were as follows: 1. General foot shape of subjects was that foot breadth was wide whereas instep height was average. In regards to the metamorphic parts of foot, the most metamorphic part was the fifth toe which could be occurred by disagreeable shoes to foot. 2. General salary men (69.5%) wear the formal shoes and their wearing time per day is over 10 hours (49%), which illustrates that more suitable and convenient functional shoes needs to be developed. 3. Almost of subjects tended to purchase ready-made shoes, and their concerns to be considered when to purchase ready-made shoes were its size and solidity. This finding suggests that the size specification of the ready-made shoes needs to be more specific in terms of its length as well as foot breadth. 4. The most unsatisfied point on the ready-made shoes was the foot breadth. According to the Crosstabulation analysis on the discomfort part and the foot breadth, there existed a significant correlation between the discomfort part and the foot breadth (p$\leq$0.05). The above results make clear that overall salary men have complaints on the ready-made formal shoes in terms of its size and wearing comfort level. This suggests that the subdivision of the shoes size specification needs to be developed to improve the wearing comfort level.
Historically, white clothes have been passed down through the generations as the symbol of the Korean people. This study was motivated after coming across a text written by Lee Ok(李鈺, 1760~1815), a writer during the Joseon dynasty. Lee wrote that "Koreans mostly wear blue clothes." This raised questions regarding the wearing practice of the white clothes at the time of King Jeongjo's reign(1776~1800), and led to further studies on the matter. The results show that discussions were held about changing the color of the government official's changui(氅衣) from white to blue. An order was also given replacing white boots with black boots. Therefore, it is supposed that blue clothes phenomenon was influenced from the blue changui policy. However, this change was temporary as later generations wore preferred white with the exception being women's skirts. Women preferred blue skirts to white skirts for a long period. Detailed analysis of the white changui showed that people were burdened by high dyeing costs, and this was a big factor as studies indicated a large gap in wealth disparity. In a society that put funeral and ancestral rites as one of its priorities, the white clothes could have been favored due to its multi-functional use. Also, the noblemen who set importance on Gija(箕子) Joseon connected white clothes custom to Gija. This connotes that the reason for wearing white clothes differed depending on the class. And as white clothes were widely worn, people developed different ways of wearing the clothes for aesthetic purposes.

The pearl is a highly valuable gem that has historically represented wealth and power. Pearl necklaces have developed intro various types and represent an essential status item for modern women. This study first examines the symbolic and various meanings of pearls. Second, this study examines wearing types and pearl necklace patterns based on historical figures and modern fashion icons famous for personal displays of pearls. This study examines and analyzes various specialty publications about jewels, history of costumes, fashion magazines, academic research data, and internet search results. The conclusion of this study is as follows. Pearls have various symbolic meanings that are unlike other gems. Pearls represent purity, innocence, marital fidelity, an intimate relationship with the moon, frozen tears of God, solitude, triumph over adversity, wisdom, and sensual attraction. The societies and people traditionally famous for pearls were the Roman Empire, Queen Cleopatra of Egypt, Queen Theodora of the Byzantine Empire, Queen Elizabeth I, Queen Marie Antoinette, Empress of Eugenie Napoleon III, and Queen Alexandra. They showed a special affection for pearl necklaces and various wearing patterns unique to the time. Their pearl necklaces became a historic and symbolic legacy. Reestablished through the costume jewelry of cultivated pearls designed by Coco Chanel in the $20^{th}$ century, the pearl necklace has showed a variety of fashion trends in addition to a traditional symbolism of wealth and power. Josephine Baker, Louise Brooks, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Michelle Obama and Sarah Jessica Parker have worn notable pearl necklaces and established an individual style that utilizes the adornment of fashionable and stylish pearl necklaces. They have worn pearl necklaces while applying various fashion trend motifs to symbolic pearl features of that have changed the perception of the pearl and themselves.
In roadside workplaces, more attention should be paid to the safety of workers. The roadside workers underestimate the effect of the brightness of their clothes and judge that drivers will recognize them easily, and the drivers misjudge that the roadside workers are far away and that the vehicle can be stopped in sufficient time. Therefore, customized safety education reflecting this and wearing work clothes with certified visibility functions are required. In Korea, it is not compulsory for roadside workers and vehicle guide attendants to wear work clothes with a visibility function. In this study, the distance ahead perceived by drivers was measured using manikins wearing certified and non-certified reflective safety vests. The perception distance of the non-certified reflective safety vest was 1.4 times longer than that of the certified reflective safety vest, thus confirming the importance of wearing a certified reflective safety vest. To prevent roadside workers from suffering traffic accidents, we propose the enactment of a law that makes it mandatory for them to wear high-visibility safety clothing. Specifically, Article 32 of the Enforcement Regulation of the Road Traffic Act should include high-visibility safety clothing in life protection equipment, and additionally, to prevent secondary accidents, we propose the enactment of a law requiring the installation and wearing of certified reflective safety vests in vehicles.
Purpose: The present study was aimed to investigate the effect of corneal eccentricity on the axial rotation when wearing toric soft contact lenses were worn for certain time and changing the gaze directions. Methods: Toric soft contact lenses with double thin zone design applied on 85 of with-the-rule astigmatic eyes. Then, rotational direction and amount of contact lenses were measured after 15 minutes and 6 hours of lens wear. The difference was further compared and analyzed according to corneal eccentricity. Results: The rotation of toric lens showed a tendency to rotate to temporal direction in all gaze directions except temporal-upper direction in all groups of corneal eccentricity. The amount of lens rotation in the frontal gaze direction exhibited a negative correlation since the amount was decreased with increasing corneal eccentricity after both 15 minutes and 6 hours of lens wearing. In many cases, the cornea with small eccentricity also showed the lens rotation larger than $10^{\circ}$. The difference in rotational amount after 15 minutes of toric lens wear was small according to the corneal eccentricity however, the change of rotational amount of contact lens according to corneal eccentricity was shown after 6 hours of lens wear. Conclusions: The present study revealed that the amount of axial rotation was largely varied according to the wearer's corneal eccentricity when wearing toric lens and the rotational amount after certain time of lens was also affected by corneal eccentricity. Thus, it is suggested that the selection of toric soft contact lenses based on corneal eccentricity is necessary.

Purpose: The effect of pigmentation in circle contact lens on lens wearers' tear film stability was investigated in this study. Methods: Non-invasive tear film break-up times of 54 normal eyes before and after lens wearing in twenties and the portion of first tear breakup were measured. The frontal and back surface roughness of circle contact lens was further observed with a scanning electron microscope. The clear lens which was made of hilafilcon B and circle contact lenses which were made of hilafilcon B, polymacon and copolymer of HEMA NVP were tested. Results: Non-invasive tear film breakup time was significantly reduced compared with it before lens wearing. In some case, statistically significant difference in tear film breakup time was also observed between circle contact lenses. The tear file break-up was usually early started in lower than upper portion, and in temporal than nasal portion although there was variation in the lens material. The tear film break-up of circle contact lenses made of hilafilcon B was more commonly observed in peripheral portion(pigmented area) compared with clear contact lens made of same material. Conclusions: The present study revealed that the stability of tear film was affected by wearing circle contact lens and the result seems to be used as the basis for the problem solving that can occur due to the pigmentation when wearing circle contact lens.

This study focuses on clothing as one of the most seasonal products and investigates consumer behavior related to climate change adaptation. This study addressed four objectives: (1) to identify the clothing behavior of consumers for the adaptation to climate change; (2) to identify the effects of fashion involvement and climate sensitivity on clothing attitude for the adaptation to climate change; (3) to identify the effect of clothing purchase time on climate sensitivity and clothing attitude for the adaptation to climate change; and (4) to identify the effect of consumer demographics on climate sensitivity and clothing attitude for the adaptation to climate change. A survey questionnaire was developed and implemented to collect data for measuring clothing involvement, fashion involvement, and climate sensitivity. In addition, clothing involvement, clothing assortment needs, and clothing worn for the adaptation to climate change were measured. A total of 349 responses were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA and path analysis with SPSS18.0. The results of the analysis are as follows. Changes in temperature were considered more important than changes in weather for the functional needs of clothing, purchase needs, and assortment items needs. The assortment items wearing for the adaptation to climate change varied depending on the temperature and weather. Fashion involvement directly influenced clothing assortment needs and indirectly influenced the clothing worn for the adaptation to climate change. In terms of clothing purchase time, those purchasing clothing before the season begins, tended to have a high fashion involvement and clothing attitude for the adaptation to climate change. Those in their twenties and single, tended to be more sensitive to climate change. This study also discusses the implications for merchandising strategies.
