Physiological Strains of Asbestos Abatement Work Wearing Protective Clothing in Hot-Humid Environments

  • To be able to work safely and efficiency, the Threshold Limit Values (TLV) for work in the heat are widely used. Since these TLV are only applicable to workers in regular clothing, TLV should be adjusted when applied to the asbestos removal workers who wear extra impermeable protective clothing. Although abbreviated guidelines for heat stress exposure have been proposed, literature advocating their use in the asbestos removal industry is limited. Therefore, we planed a survey to evaluate the workload of asbestos abatement workers in summer, and an experiment with climatic chambers to evaluate the effects of resting in a cool environment between work periods. From these studies, we got following conclusions. There is a high risk of suffering from heat illness by asbestos abatement work in summer in Japan. It is proposed to create a cool room inside the workplace of asbestos abatement work to reduce thermal stress.

Dual Autostereoscopic Display Platform for Multi-user Collaboration with Natural Interaction

  • In this letter, we propose a dual autostereoscopic display platform employing a natural interaction method, which will be useful for sharing visual data with users. To provide 3D visualization of a model to users who collaborate with each other, a beamsplitter is used with a pair of autostereoscopic displays, providing a visual illusion of a floating 3D image. To interact with the virtual object, we track the user's hands with a depth camera. The gesture recognition technique we use operates without any initialization process, such as specific poses or gestures, and supports several commands to control virtual objects by gesture recognition. Experiment results show that our system performs well in visualizing 3D models in real-time and handling them under unconstrained conditions, such as complicated backgrounds or a user wearing short sleeves.

  • It is a problems in industrial accidents that the knowledge for industrial accidents is obtained by experience, not by experiment. This experiential knowledge is obtained by Investigating accident cases and utilizing those for safety education. Therefore, in this paper, the situation about the serious accident of construction is analyzed by occupation, a kind of construction, time group, season, type of accident, and accidental cause. And the mutual · relations of these factors are studied. The most frequent type of the serious accidents of construction Is the falling accident. It happenes most frequently at apartment construction among kinds of construction and to structural worker, finishing worker, normal worker in order among occupations. And it is found that the most critical causes of the falling accident are the imperfection of safety facilities and unwearing of protection equipments, so a number of accidents can be reduced by the expansion of safety facilities and wearing of protection equipments absolutely. The counterplan of prohibition of accidents and the direction of government policy are presented by a series of nalyses for accident cases.

A Segmentation Guided Coarse to Fine Virtual Try-on Network for a new Clothing and Pose

  • Virtual try on is getting interested from researchers these days because its application in online shopping. But single pose virtual try on is not enough, customer may want to see themselves in different pose. Multiple pose virtual try on is getting input as customer image, an in-shop cloth and a target pose, it will try to generate realistic customer wearing the in-shop cloth with the target pose. We first generate the target segmentation layout using conditional generative network (cGAN), and then the in-shop cloth are warped to fit the customer body in target pose. Finally, all the result will be combine using a Resnet-like network. We experiment and show that our method outperforms stage of the art.

가상현실 콘텐츠 용 MPEG-V 후각효과 기초 연구 (A Preliminary Study of MPEG-V Scent effects on Virtual Reality Content)

  • 본 논문은 후각실험에 사용되는 향기에 대한 신뢰성을 검증하기 위한 연구로 MPEG-V(ISO/IEC 23005) 표준을 활용한 후각효과 재현 시스템을 소개한다. 구현된 시스템을 활용하여 실험 참여자들에게 두부장착교시장치(Head Mounted Display: HMD)를 착용시킨 상태에서 향기와 향기객체 이미지의 일대일 매칭, 향기와 다수의 향기객체 이미지 매칭, 그리고 발향장치와 피험자와의 거리별 선호도 분석을 실시하였다. 실험 결과 분석을 통해 후각도구로 커피, 코코아, 바나나, 복숭아 향기를 실험에 적합한 향기로 선정하였다. 매칭 정확도가 높았던 커피 향기의 경우 발향장치와 참여자 사이의 거리가 10~20cm인 경우가 30cm보다 이미지 매칭에 더 효과적이었다. 향후 본 연구를 통해서 선정된 향기를 사용하여, 가상현실 콘텐츠의 몰입감 및 현장감 향상을 위한 후각 연구를 진행할 것이다.

견과 나이론 복합사 스타킹의 품질 특성 (Physical characteristics of Stocking knitted with Silk/Nylon Compound Yarn)

  • 견과 합성 섬유의 단점을 서로 보완하여 새로운 성능을 가지는 신소재를 개발하기 위하여 견사와 나이론사와의 복합사를 제조(이하 S/N 복합사)하고 이들 복합사 스타킹에 대하여 품질을 평가한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. SEM으로 S/N 복합사로 제편한 스타킹을 관찰한 결과 나이론사는 매끈하게 보이는 반면 견사는 약간 불규칙하게 나타나서 쉽게 판별할 수 있었으며 견사와 나이론사가 서로 잘 포합된 부분과 견사끼리 합쳐진 부분이 발견되었다. 2. S/N 복합사 스타킹의 흡수속도는 나이론 스타킹에 비하여 4~8배 높았고 무연보다 가연할 경우가 높았다. 흡수율에 있어서도 S/N 복합사 스타킹이 나이론 스타킹에 비하여 3배 이상 높았다. 3. 수축율을 보면 상온수에서는 나이론 스타킹과 S/N 스타킹간에 큰 차이는 없었으나 비등수에서는 나이론보다 S/N 스타킹편이 약간 많이 수축되었다. 한편 스타킹간의 수축율과 수축탄성율은 큰 차이는 없었다. 4. S/N 복합사 스타킹의 착용시험 결과 보온성, 촉감은 나이론 스타킹보다 우수하였으나 수축성은 나이론 스타킹에 미치지 못하였다. 그러나 종합적인 호감도는 나이론 스타킹에 비하여 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

3차원 인체 측정을 이용한 40대 여성의 상반신 체형을 고려한 브래지어 패턴 개발 (Brassiere Pattern Development Based on 3D Measurements of Upper Body Types for Women in Their 40's)

  • The purpose of the study lies in the measurements of breast shapes and upper body types for the women in their 40's, with the use of 3D measurement system, and in the presentation of brassiere patterns fit for their body types. As for the study method, 3D human body types were analyzed with RapidForm 2006, and the upper-body types and breast shapes were statistically classified through technical statistics analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, variance analysis, and cross analysis. The wearing tests went through the comparison of the brassieres of three makers in the market and the experiment brassieres(first and second) and then the evaluations were made by the subjects, the outer appearance assessment by experts, and 3D measurements. The findings of the study indicated that the evaluation of experiment brassieres was excellent in every item, and he significant difference was found out particularly in the items of pressure, rear center, front center, breast underneath, adequate level by wing, and adequate level by armhole. According to the results of 3D evaluation, experiment brassieres had a highest point in fitness with no physical pressure at the wing part and no overall deviation at the cup art. The pattern comparison showed the differences in the parts of total cup angle, cup circumference length, lower cup height, wing length, and wing angle.

스포츠웨어 착용에 따른 운동시 온열생리반응에 미치는 영향 (Physiological Responses to Different Exercise Intensities while Wearing Different Types of Sportswear Materials)

  • For the purpose of examining the relationship of physiological and subjective responses to different exercise intensities and varied types of sportswear material, under environmental condition $20{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ $50{\pm}3%$RH, five men who wear four different kinds of sportswear which have same clothing cover area. The subjects exercised for 20 min with a 20 min pre-exercise rest period and another 20 min post-exercise recovery period. Throughout the 60 min. duration, we monitored the local skin temperature, rectal temperature, clothing microclimate and subjective sensation. The mean skin temperature was recorded to range from $33.5{\sim}34.1^{\circ}C$ for the entire duration of the experiment with the highest temperature observed at the 7th min after starting the exercise. During the exercise intensity at THR 20, the lowest recorded temperature was at the 5th min of the recovery time and stabilized at the 10th min. However, in the exercise intensity condition at THR 70, the temperature declined steadily until the end of the experiment. With regard to clothing materials, cotton 100% and Polyester/Cotton blended fabrics knit(35/65) was $0.5{\sim}0.7^{\circ}C$ maintained lower than Polyester 100% and polyester/Cotton blended woven fabrics (65/35). In the case of the rectal temperature at THR 70 in case of PET 100%, Polyester/Cotton blended woven fabrics (35/65) was higher $0.2{\sim}0.5^{\circ}C$ than other sportswear throughout the duration of the experiment.

샤프펜슬의 사용편의성과 그 구조에 관한 연구 (Study on Usability and Structure of the Mechanical Pencil)

  • 우리 일상생활에서 밀접하게 접하고 사용하고 있는 샤프펜슬에 사용편의성(쓰기 편한 정도)을 1.사용 전 보았을 때 예전 경험치로 직감적으로 느끼는 감, 2.직접 잡았을 때 느낌(착용감), 3.직접 종이 위에 쓰면서 느끼는 느낌 (필기감), 이 세 가지 주요평가항목으로 설정한 후 36개의 대표샘플을 가지고 실증적 실험방법으로 서로의 관계 및 직접 영향을 미치는 항목을 구체적으로 밝혔다. 본 연구에서는 사용편의성과 사용 전 보았을 때 예전 경험치로 직감적으로 느끼는 감의 항목에서는 서로는 높은 상관관계는 없었다. 이는 경험치에서 얻은 기대치가 실제로 사용에서는 기대치에 미치지 못하였기 때문이라고 판단한다. 사용편의성과 착용감, 필기감은 높은 상관관계를 가지고있었다. 이는 사용편의성에 있어 착용감과 필기감은 서로 밀접한 관계이기 때문이라고 판단한다. 사용편의성이 좋은 샤프펜슬은 구조적으로 전체길이가 길며(169mm), 굵기는 보통(8.5mm), 무게는 약간 무거운(21.4g), 중심은 야간 아래쪽인(60mm)에 위치하며, 단면형상은 정원이 아닌 변형형상이며, 손가락 접지부의 표면처리는 가로 홈이 나있는 것이고, 몸통은 광택이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
