This paper introduces an adaptive face recognition method based on a Novel Incremental Kernel Nonparametric Discriminant Analysis (IKNDA) that is able to learn through time. More precisely, the IKNDA has the advantage of incrementally reducing data dimension, in a discriminative manner, as new samples are added asynchronously. Thus, it handles dynamic and large data in a better way. In order to perform face recognition effectively, we combine the Gabor features and the ordinal measures to extract the facial features that are coded across local parts, as visual primitives. The variegated ordinal measures are extraught from Gabor filtering responses. Then, the histogram of these primitives, across a variety of facial zones, is intermingled to procure a feature vector. This latter's dimension is slimmed down using PCA. Finally, the latter is treated as a facial vector input for the advanced IKNDA. A comparative evaluation of the IKNDA is performed for face recognition, besides, for other classification endeavors, in a decontextualized evaluation schemes. In such a scheme, we compare the IKNDA model to some relevant state-of-the-art incremental and batch discriminant models. Experimental results show that the IKNDA outperforms these discriminant models and is better tool to improve face recognition performance.

The paper addresses Erik Cohen's pioneering work on tourism in Thailand, specifically his publications on the relations between Thai women and foreign (farang) men in tourist-oriented encounters. Of sociological-anthropological interest is his conceptualization of these relations as "open-ended prostitution as a skilful game of luck" based on his study of a Bangkok soi (lane) in 1981-1984, and his exploration of Thai culture in terms of ambiguity and contradiction. On the basis of recent ethnographic research in the northern Thai tourist hub of Chiang Mai and wide-ranging observations on tourism development in Thailand, we examine continuity and change in these male-female engagements since Cohen's research, especially in the context of the increasing availability of such electronic agencies as social media, messaging, video chat, and internet dating. Whereas Cohen's concept of ambiguity and illusion has tended to disappear from physical spaces, it seems to have resurfaced in virtual space. The complexities of host-guest relations, and particularly the interactions both within the variegated category of "guests" themselves and then between their "hostesses" are explored in terms of sites of tourism-oriented encounters in both physical and virtual space so as to deconstruct these oppositional categories which have been formative in studies of tourism.

We observed performance of segregation in flower color and type of hybrids which obtained from crossing of intra species in Hibiscus syriacus. Obtained results were followings. 1. The purple flower was dominance to the white one and this was presumed that was owing to cytoplasmic heredity. 2. Single and double petal of flower was presumed that was originated from factors of Ss and dd. 3. There was not variation in flower color and type of $F_1$ hybrid between 4 n and 2 n Hibiscus syriacus. 4. There were many variation of flower color among $F_1$ hybrids which abtained in open pollination of Hibiscus syriacus. 5. We could observe many flowers variegated with red color among $F_1$ hybrids which obtained in crossing between double petal flowers of Hibiscus syriacus.

In order to elucidate growth characteristics, physiological responses and leaf color changes of Physocarpus opulifolius 'Diabolo' and Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens'. These experiments were investigated under various shading levels. Growth of P.opulifolius 'Diabolo' was better at 30% shading level but physiological activities were double at strong light condition. Dark purple color was observed at 85% shading level and color was dim down when shading level decreased. Color was deep purple(RHS 202A) at 85% shading and green(RHS 139A) at 0%, These results imply that ornamental value was increased when shading level increased for P. opulifolius 'Diabolo'. Growth and highest physiological activity of O. planiscapus 'Nigrescens' were observed at 0% shading level and dark red color(RHS 202A) was also observed at 0% shading level. These results imply that ornamental value was increased when shading level decreased for O. planiscapus 'Nigrescens'.

The Purpose of the study is to identify the aesthetic of anxiety and horror in Roman Polanski's films, focusing on , , and . Polanski's films, of which main concern lies in veritable human under the circumstance of the closed space which is stained violence and horror, present a tendency of instability and brute force in the same age and individual's enervation and solitude isolated from the value of society. Eventually, it steadily deals with the origin horror of being. In this study, I analyzed Polanski's special feature of directing centering on three facters, such as visual storytelling, space design of isolation and enervation, and accompanying sight as a visual point of suspense. The style of Polanski's films, based on the classical priciple for suspense construction and variegated image making, shows that the incapable individual's awkward suffered in the closed circumstance, the strength of horror from the unknowable outside, and human's belief broken by brutal violence. These commonly connect to the theme of Roman Polanski's films.

The Gamrotenghwa of the Choson Dynasty is a unique genre of buddhist painting in that the destiny of the dead souls and the guidance to nirvana are expressed in reality. More than 50 of the Gamrotenghwa are known to be present, and the lower part of the paintings includes a wide assortment of folk customary scenes reflecting the social life style of the time when the painting was drawn, such as difficulties in life. public life, punishment and war. Changes in the costume of the people shown on the customary scenes of the Gamrotenghwa according to the time based changes in painting style were investigated in this study. The results are summarized in three points. First, the costumes of bureaucrats showed a tendency of preservation without any major changes in the painting. On the other hand, costumes of public and entertainer in the scenes were very close to those worn by the people at that time. The realistic description of public life in the painting may establish the value of the Gamrotenghwa as the historical documents. Second, the costume of the people in the painting showed a dual structure as the social positions; bureaucrats wore various official hats, large coats and belts to expose their social prestige. while the general public wore simple and convenient clothing which is divided into shirt and pants. The dual structure of the costume in the painting is in well accordance with that of the later period of Choson dynasty, suggesting that the customary scenes in the painting represent the social life style of the period. Finally, the customary scenes in the Gamrotenghwa are very variegated. which shows a variety of beauty of wearing even though they look coarse in a sense. The diversity of wearing beauty in the picture may contribute to the recreation of the beauty of shape in the new design of Hanbok.

This study is designed to extract sensibility words of mobile phone image and analyze the relational patterns among those words to develope a sensibility model for mobile phone design. We expected the different sensibility scale would be developed according to the case of open or closed. The 25 representative words were abstracted as a result of words collection. As a result of the factor analysis of sensibility evaluation for mobile phone, the mobile phone design image was different according to the state of folding and unfolding. In the state of folder unfolding, the first factor was named as 'cool', the second factor as 'soft' and the third factor as 'handy'. In the state of folding, the first factor was named as 'stylish', the second factor as 'variegated' and the third factor as 'hard'.

This work critically deals with the much unstable and fragmented states of young adults in contemporary Korean society. Nowadays, most of young adults in Korea have encountered much severe, uncertain, and 'hellish' socio-economic situations while their dreams of getting regular jobs are hard to achieve. This study aims to present a nuanced and detailed analysis of their sedimented feelings, variegated emotions, as well as embodied positions by utilizing in-depth interviews and critical explorations on their particular modes of survival.

The purpose of this study is to examine the contents and concept of program for healthy family and provide job opportunity and competency of healthy family supporter. For this research, participants are 51 healthy family supporters as a middle manager. Data were obtained through the survey using a questionnaire developed by the ministry of women and family and headquarter of healthy family support centers in 2007. The research process consists of two parts. One is to suggest their jobs and requirements, the other is to offer their core competency and area for improvement. First, the jobs of healthy family supporters as a middle manager are the generalization of team's work including the planning, management and coordination, training for the staff, and network of social resources. They recognized the planning and management of healthy family support center's goal and course as a strategic job. The requirements for the performance of their duties are having a bachelor's or a master's degree, career more than for 3 years, and a certificate of qualification of healthy family supporters, social worker and family counselor. Second, their competencies are the understanding of education of family life, theory of family counselling, the planning and valuation of program for healthy family, understanding for the variegated family, management of organization, networking with resources, ability of documentation, ability of persuasion and negotiation, management of time, sociality, communication skill, solving the problem, positiveness, cooperative spirit and so on.

This study is to examine the characteristics of fabrics in Koryo dynasty by reviewing the fabrics for enshrining oblations inside a buddhist statue in MoonSoo temple, which are currently possessed in SooDuk temple. The research results follows : The fabrics are 33 pieces in total : 28 Pieces of normal fabrics, 5 pieces of fabrics that is used for covering the five grains, and others like variegated silk threads. Out of 33 pieces of fabrics are there 31 pieces of silk and 2 pieces of ramie. The tabby fabrics, which have the most pieces among the fabrics, are 11 pieces in total. There are 1 piece of designed tabby fabri. whose patterns are expressed by dyeing. as well as non-designed tabby fabric. The twill fabrics are 8 pieces in total. Its patterns are mainly the type that small patterns are consecutively reiterated. And they have various patterns including plant patterns, such as lotus pattern, flower pattern. etc., animal patterns such as dragon pattern. etc., geometric patterns. such as turtoise-shell pattern. swastika, etc. The leno and gauze fabrics are 1 piece of 4-end complex designed-gauze and 1 piece of gill gauze. The compound woven fabrics are 2 pieces of brocaded gauze and 3 pieces of brocaded twill. Brocaded gauze is a kind of brocaded fabrics and is made by adding a gold thread between wefts of already weaved gauze. The figured fabrics are 1 piece of tabby fabric, 6 pieces of twill fabrics, 4 pieces of leno and gauze fabrics, and 5 pieces of compound woven fabrics. All of them are 16 pieces out of all 33 pieces and amount to almost 50%. Single-patterned fabrics, that is one pattern is expressed individually, are much more than any others. Plant patterns are the ones that are used the most.
