Vidyanusa Mathematic Learning Systems Based on Digital Game by Balanced Design Approach

  • Educational games offer an opportunity to engage and inspire students to take an interest in every subject material in school. The "fun" obtain when playing games become a trigger for the use of games in learning. However, there are doubts whether the players actually learn while they are having fun. Vidyanusa is an Online Mathematics Education Game being developed by Crayonpedia Education Ecosystem in Indonesia. The learning goal of Vidyanusa is to engage junior high school students in learning mathematics. In this paper, we design the Vidyanusa game material Functions and Relations by using Balanced Design Approach. This approach has three models in succession; the Content Model outlines the purpose of the game, the Task Model maps out the mission, and the Evidence Model outlines student measurement. This paper will then discusses the quality of games produced in term of Usability factor for effective results and objective. The measurement of the game was carried out based on International Standard ISO/IEC 9126-1 FDIS about Software Quality Product.

  • The process of game development is contained of many steps that is hard to forecast success or failure. In order to develop successful game, the development period should be shorter, which could reduce development cost. In order to reduce development period and cost, it is needed to make a communication among planners, programmers, graphic designers and investors lively with a prototype as a communication tool. In this study, the concrete examples are demonstrated how to use prototypes as a tool for communication and feedback of team members, in the process of game development. This paper explains the characteristics of various types of prototypes according to types of game contents. This paper demonstrated two types of prototype according to development stage, one type is a prototype to gather feedback in the planning stage, the other is a prototype to make team members cooperate and communicate in the stage of production stage.

  • Due to the fast development of information technology, a variety of edutainment software has been used in the field of business education. One of them is Business Simulation Game that the business game domain and the information technology is definitely associated. A lot of business simulation game have been developed and used for many courses of colleges and corporate training in USA and EU. However, education program based on business simulation game has not been activated in Korea. This paper introduce a business simulation game developed by joint effort of business professors and a software firm for last three years and suggest the method of business education using this business simulation game. First of all, the development process, architecture and procedure of business simulation game are summarized. From a perspective of business education, the effect and advantage of business simulation game, sample syllabus, course outlines, users, missions and evaluation method are also addressed.

  • Social network game (SNG) literally is a game based on the relationship between social network or Relationships with people is an important element in the game you need to make full use of them is that you can smooth progress.   • A component base technology can maintain effectively and save time and expenses of development. In this thesis we found many components including the setup/execution component to construct game sites and analyzed and designed the components by the use of UML. If programmers develop the game site by using the component that distributes, setups and executes the game program by one click and other components, they can manage the game site easily, distribute the game program effectively and offer a convenient user interface. Also, by the reuse of these components, programmers can construct the game site easily and economically.

  • 3D online game, with its striking realistic value, is leading the entire Korean game market which has various game genres. Technology sharing is very hard within the Korean game industry. That is because 1)there are few professionals, 2)most of the companies are small-scaled, and 3)there are security reasons. Therefore, it should be significant if we have software design techniques which make it possible to reuse the existing code when developing a network game so that we could save a lot of efforts. In this paper, the author analyzes the demand through the case in the client's design of the network game based on DirectX and proposes the effective software design methods for reusable code based on the creative patterns application in the GoF in the class design.

  • Watchface is a content accounted for the largest number of current Smartwatch content posted on the App Store. However, the watch face itself does not find that the game content. Games operated in connection with the Watchface can minimize game controls and increase accessibility, while decreasing battery use, which ultimately can enhance immersion into the game. Beginning with background research on wearable devices, the current study puts forth development methodologies encompassing the entirety of the content development process from content design, to production. Through the current study, the author hopes to the ultimate effect of vitalizing Smartwatch game development.

  • Online game business has emerged as the most lucrative entertainment industry, with over 10 million players in South Korea and over 30 million in Japan in 2005. The popularity of online games can be attributed to the availability of broadband network, pushing online games into the mainstream entertainment culture. The age distribution of online game players is expanding and a variety of new games are under development to target certain age groups. While the interactive entertainment market continues to expand, with many new online game publishers entering the Japan, relatively little is known about which factors influence online game players' behavioral intentions to play continuously in this area. This study investigates major factors which influence the acceptance of online game services based on the theoretical backgrounds of the technology acceptance model(TAM) and the flow theory. This paper extended the Davis' TAM model by including the flow concept as another major factor toward the intention to play online game. Based on data collected from online questionnaire survey, we show that the proposed model provides an adequate fit to the data, and that the flow experience is another important factor influencing the intention to play online game, as well as the perceived ease of use.

  • This research is the qualitative research on signals that mobile game users use to solve asymmetric information of game quality. Based on signal theory, we gathered data using Netnography. The findings are four types of signals for mobile games: platform-based signals with high/low participation rate of consumers, game developing company-based signals with high/low participation rate of consumers. The features that mobile gamers make decisions using signals are the following. First, ranking and the number of download have initial standard. Second, game marketing platform can be one of signals. Finally, the preference of signals is different with the goals and using pattern of games.

A Study For Gamers' Experience Patterns in mobile Games (모바일 게임에서 나타나는 게이머의 경험 패턴에 대한 연구)

  • This study presents an investigation into game patterns prominent in mobile games. The term "pattern" used in this study is inherited by the concept used in "A study for user experience of the game : based on the pattern type and the pattern type attribute of the game space" by Gwak E Sac(2016). There is, however, a difference between them. While the previous study limited the gamers' experience patterns to "game spaces" in the use of "pattern," the present study expanded the scope of gamers' experience patterns to the "mobile game market." Although the mobile game market is growing rapidly, there is a tendency of uniformity in mobile games due to the reduction of development time and the destruction of genres in the development of mobile games. Recognizing this situation, the investigator summarized experience patterns in the current mobile game market into: repeat familiar game play, valuable game action, value and consumption of time and preference and selection of game.
