  • While ubiquitous healthcare (u-health) services were expected to propagate along with conventional healthcare services, recent progress indicated rather limited market acceptance. In this paper, we investigated the fundamental causes of why the consumer acceptance level of u-health services has been low. We draw upon innovation adoption theories to analyze the consumer readiness of the typical u-health services. The comparative analysis between innovative u-health services and conventional services was performed using analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Subsequently, policy and business implications including technological breakthrough insights were discussed based on the customer perspective comparative adoption analysis. The propositions captured through this study provide useful insight to further studies on u-health services.

  • In recent years, the development of ubiquitous computing technology as vital information anytime, anywhere to monitor and manage the demand for U-healthcare services is increasing. Accordingly, remote blood sugar management, remote blood pressure management, and research on U-healthcare service have been very active. But, the existing U-healthcare service monitoring devices and services has been implemented in different operating platforms and programing languages which are provided by diverse application service providers. For this reason, the users have difficulty in receiving diverse U-healthcare services. In this paper, SOA-based U-healthcare monitoring system has been designed and implemented. Through implementation, it is confirmed that the proposed SOA based U-healthcare monitoring system can increase the reuse of each service component to make it easier to reconstruct the structure of the new services.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the intention to utilize u-healthcare services in Korea. Specifically, this study attempted to identify the relationships among the intention to use u-healthcare, consumer's demographic characteristics, and personal information technology level. We conducted telephone interview and collected data from 406 householders 20 years old or older. The results showed significant differences in use intention of u-healthcare service by innovation, gender, and their interaction term. Residence area and average time of internet use had significant effect on the use intention of u-healthcare service. Also, the interaction term between innovation and education level had a significant effect on use intention. Based on the results we concluded that the consumer's characteristics and information technology level had a significant effect on the use intention of u-healthcare service.

  • Due to the recent developments of various smart devices, U-healthcare services using these appliances has increased. However, the security of U-healthcare services is a very important issue since healthcare services contain highly sensitive and private personal health information. In order to handle the security issues, the functionality of encrypting medical information must be provided, and an encryption key exchange method is necessary. In this paper, we propose a key exchange protocol by utilizing smart devices for secure U-healthcare services. The proposed protocol has been designed based on the elliptic curve based public key cryptography, providing high level security for smart devices by using short keys. Moreover, in order to strengthen user authentication and security, a smart watch is used as a complementary device, whenever the key exchange protocol is performed.

  • U-healthcare is real-time monitoring of personal biometric information using by portable devices, home network and information and communication technology based healthcare systems, and fused together automatically to overcome the constraints of time and space are connected with hospitals and doctors. As u-healthcare gives health service in anytime and anywhere, it becomes to be a new type of medical services in patients management and disease prevention. In this paper, recent changes in prevention-oriented care is analyzed in becoming early response for Healthcare Information System by requirements analysis for technology development trend. According to the healthcare system, PACS, OCS, EMR and emergency medical system, U-healthcare is presenting the design of a patient-centered integrated client system. As the relationship between the meaning of the terms is used in the ontology, information models in the system is providing a common vocabulary with various levels of formality. In this paper, we propose an ontology-based system for patient-centered services, including the concept of clustering to clustering the data to define the relationship between these ontologies for more systematic data.

  • In this paper, we propose a service component based on active model for supporting a variety of u-healthcare application services. It implemented that component as a classification of function for developing healthcare application services. Especially we focus on the adaptive information service in integrated environment using a distributed object technologies of the various healthcare home service based on distributed object group framework. And we shows the service component applying to Healthcare application services such as healthcare home monitoring, mobile monitoring and web based monitoring. Also, we show the performance evaluation results such as response time, system load and network load.

  • Recently, the RFID technology is combined with a u-healthcare services is an emerging trend in the field of medical services. u-healthcare service, as covering the field of personal health information beyond the level of simple health screening and treatment of life are closely related. Considering security, invasion of privacy, as well as life may be threatened even if your personal health information to be exposed or exploited illegally u-Healthcare services certification is essential. In 2012, Jeong proposed J-L patient authentication protocol that Initialization process, and patients using RFID technology separates the certification process. Jeong, such as the claim that the proposed protocol for reuse attacks, spoofing attacks, prevent information disclosure and traceability fire safety, but raises issues of security and operations efficiency. Therefore, in this paper, Jeong, such as the security of the proposed protocol and to prove the computational efficiency issues, and to enhance the safety and efficiency of RFID technology based on practical u-Healthcare services authentication protocol is proposed.

  • U-Healthcare provides healthcare and medical services, such as prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services whenever and wherever it is needed, and its ultimate goal is to improve quality of life. This study defines the figure of U-Healthcare personalized services for providing U-Healthcare personalized services and proposes a healthcare model. A diet prescription system for personalized services can draw customized calories and rates of nutrition factors and represent a personalized diet through analyzing the personal preference in foods. This system changes the personal preference by monitoring the diet selection behavior of users. Also, this system is designed to be interactively operated with some sensors and devices in various environments using Java-based OSGi middleware.
