  • Aragonite is one of polymorphs of calcium carbonate of which main form is calcite. We found that white precipitate is formed in much amount by boiling underwater of Inchon, Korea and confirmed that it is aragonite. This study is to evaluate the dimensional characteristics, solubility, acid resistance of aragonite and the cytotoxicity, cell division disturbance and cell transforming ability of it on BALB/3T3 cells. The results are as follows: Lengths of the aragonite were reduced to the 72.7% and 22.7% respectively after 5 months and 7 months of intrapleurai injection to the Sprague-Dawley rat. Strong acid such as 1M HCl dissolved the aragonite instantly but weaker acid pH 2.0 or more could not dissolved aragonite easily. The result of cell growth inhibition showed that cell numbers were decreased as log-doses of treatment of the aragonite were increased 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours later. Cell plating efficiency after the aragonite treatment also showed dose-dependent decrease. Multinuclear giant cell formation was increased in the aragonite treated cells until ID$_{50}$ and after the dose the multinucleate cells were decreased, but remained much higher than negative control cells. Morphological transformation assay showed that the aragonite did not induce transformation in all treated doses.

  • In this paper, Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method is used to analyze characteristics of the electromagnetically coupled broadband microstrip antenna, and to optimize the antenna parameters. By using short tuning stub in feedline, electromagnetically coupled microstrip antenna shows broadband (approximatcly equal 13%) characteristics, and the characteristics are varied as a function of length, width, and position of the tuning stub. Operating frequency, return loss, VSWR and input impedance are calculated by Fourier transforming the time domain results. Measurement data from fabricated electromagnetically coupled microstrip antenna are compared with FDTD results and are shown to be in good agreement. After optimization of the parameters, maximum bandwidth of about 15% is achieved.

  • As the laws of physics are expressed in a manner that makes their invariance under coordinate transformations manifest, they should be written in terms of tensors. Furthermore, tensors make manifest the characteristics and behaviors of electromagnetic fields through inhomogeneous, anisotropic, and compressible media. Electromagnetic fields are expressed completely in tensor form, Fαβ, which implies both electric field ${\overrightarrow{E}}$ and magnetic field ${\overrightarrow{B}}$ rather than separately in the vector fields. This study presents the Mathematica platform that generates and transforms a second-rank antisymmetric field-strength tensor Fαβ and whiskbroom pattern in Minkowski space. The platforms enhance the capabilities of students and researchers in tensor analysis and improves comprehension of the elegant features of complete structure in physics.

  • Purpose: This study was to explore health experiences of victims of sexual violence reflected in Newman's health as expanding consciousness theory. Method: Nurse as researcher use Newman's praxis methodology because it is good for showing the process of interaction between researcher and sexual abuse victims. Results: The significant characteristics of early health experiences during negative situations were a lot of suffering. However, after a turning point in health experience, the health experiences of most of the participants evolved as expanding consciousness. Conclusion: The study has provided support for Newman's theory of health. Most of the participants recognised meanings in their patterns and trustful caring relationships with the nurse as researcher. Pattern recognition as a nursing practice was a meaningful transforming process in the participant-nurse partnership.

  • Grid serves as an auxiliary instrument that explains design logically and objectively when you designing an interior. But grid is unacceptable to the space which is produced by designer who wants to express a design subjectively. Because grid makes usual and standardized space without flexibility. Changing and developing a fundamental unit with modern touch is going to be a way compensate for the weakpoint Also versatile grid unit can support the designer's subjective intention. This study focuses on the limits of Wright's house which show interior space aestheically through grid planing. In this paper Wright's uniqe interior space pattern will be examined through the selection of some of his works specifically the Prairies and Usonians whose transforming is noticable as Wright house and analysis about formation process of grid planning characteristics and spaces is continued. With all this analysis I'm, going to look over Wright's philosophy and pattern that is usually intended by his grid planning.

  • This study presents a procedure for analyzing chip-tool friction and shear processes in 3-D cutting with a single point tool. The edge of a single point tool including a circular nose is modified to an equivalent straight edge, thereby reducing the 3-D cutting with a single point tool to the equivalent of oblique cutting. Then, by transforming the conventional coordinate systems and using the measurements of three cutting force components, the force components on the rake face and shear plane of the equivalent oblique cutting system can be obtained. As a result, the chip-tool friction and shear characteristics of 3-D cutting with a single point tool can be assessed.

  • Health information-seeking behavior (HISB) is active need-fulfillment behavior whereby health information is obtained from diverse sources, such as the media, and has emerged as an important issue within the transforming medical environment and the rise of medical consumers. However, little is known about the factors that affect HISB and its associations, and the health outcome of HISB. The aim of this study was to examine individual and social contextual factors associated with HISB and to systematically review their effects on health status among post-treatment cancer patients. Individual determinants of HISB included demographic factors, psychosocial factors, perceived efficacy and norms, and health beliefs. Contextual determinants of HISB encompassed community characteristics, neighborhood social capital, and media advocacy. Improving through factors on these two levels, HISB raised individuals' self-care management skills and medical treatment compliance, and enhanced shared decision-making and medical treatment satisfaction. Moreover, because HISB can differ according to individuals' social contextual conditions, it can give rise to communication inequalities. Because these can ultimately lead to health disparities between groups, social interest in HISB and balanced HISB promotion strategies are necessary.

  • In this research, unsteady groundwater flow in unconfined and homogeneous three layer aquifers is studied theoretically and experimentally. Numerical solutions are obtained by Runge Kutta and Runge Kutta Gill method after transforming the governing nonlinear partial differential equations to nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Experimental apparatus includes a test section filled with fine, medium and coarse sands. Experimental results are compared with the numerical solutions and both experimental and numerical results correspond well with each other. This numerical approach may be also applied to the cases which have more aquifers.

  • A modification of ECAP compiling program for electronic circuit analysis is attempted in order to permit the global input of the parameters of each bipolar transistor in one card. A considerable machine time reduction is achieved as the new system permits the treatment of three cards concerning base branch, collectior branch and transfer characteristics in one, thus avoiding the necessity of calling several subroutines to confirm the idenfity of branches and their relations. It also permits one to make the data cards (descriving the circuit) without transforming the circuit into the otherwise necressary equivalent circuit.
