Effect of Continuous Antagonistic Muscle Strengthening and Evjenth-Hamberg Stretching on Pulmonary Function of Forward Head Posture Subjects

  • This research was conducted to investigate the effect of continuous antagonistic muscle strengthening exercise and Evjenth-Hamberg stretching on the pulmonary function of university students with abnormal transformation of forward head posture(FHP). The results of study subject to the continuous antagonistic muscle strengthening(CAS) group(n=10) and Evjenth- Hamberg stretching(EHS) group(n=10) that was conducted 3 times a week for 6 weeks are as follow. FVC, IVC, and MVV all were shown to be significant in the pre post comparison between the CAS group and EHS group(p<.05), and significant difference was shown for MW between the two groups(p<.05) in which the CAS group showed better effect. Based on the results above, it is considered that combining continuous antagonistic muscle strengthening exercise has better effect on pulmonary function compared to application of only Evjenth-Hamberg stretching.

상엽(桑葉)의 면역(免疫) 조절(調節) 작용(作用)에 대한 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究) (Effects of Mori Folium on Immunologic control function)

  • In order to investigate the effect of Mori Folium on immunologic control function, the various immune responses were studied. The results were obtained as follows : 1. The transformation of lymphocyte was increased significantly in all concentration of Mori Folium treated group as compared with negative and positive control. 2. In FACS analysis, the population of helper T cell and T cell were increased significantly in Mori Folium treated group as compared with control. 3. IL-12(p35) and INF-${\gamma}$ were upregulated in Mori Folium treated group 4. NO and carbon clearance were significantly increased in Mori Folium treated group as compared with control. 5. The hemagglutinin titer and hemolysin titer were increased but insignificantly in Mori Folium treated group as compared with control.

Oxidative Coupling에 의한 Nitroaromatics와 그 환원대사산물의 전환 (Transformation of Nitroaromatics and Their Reduced Metabolites by Oxidative Coupling Reaction)

  • 부식형성과정에서 nitroaromatics와 그 환원산물들의 구조에 따른 bound residue형성 양상을 밝히기 위하여 nitrotoluene류, nitrophenol류와 그 환원형태의 화합물 및 nitro기를 가진 살충제 parathion과 amino기를 가진 제초제 asulam을 단독으로 또는 부식을 구성하는 humic monomer들이 존재하는 반응 조건에서 laccase와 HRP를 촉매로 사용하여 그 반응 양상을 조사하였다. Laccase와 HRP를 촉매로 하여 반응시킨 경우, humic monomer의 유무, 종류, nitro기의 결합위치와 수에 관계없이 nitrotoluene류와 nitrophenol류는 laccase와 HRP에 의해 거의 전환되지 않았고, aminotoluene류 및 amino-nitrophenol류는 전부 전환되었다. 일부가 환원된 형태인 amino-nitrotoluene류는 humic monomer에 따라 다른 전환율을 나타내는 데, catechol, syringaldehyde와 protocatechuic acid에서 가장 높은 전환율을 나타내었다. Nitro기가 있는 살충제 parathion은 humic monomer가 존재하는 반응 조건에서 거의 전환되지 않았고, 그 분해산물 4-nitrophenol의 경우도 protocatechuic acid를 제외하고는 거의 전환되지 않았다. Amino기가 있는 제초제 asulam의 경우, humic monomer가 존재하지 않는 조건에서는 거의 전환되지 않았지만 catechol, syringaldehyde, protocatechuic acid 및 caffeic acid의 경우, 비교적 높은 전환율을 나타났다.

Analysis of surface characteristics of (Y, Nb)-TZP after finishing and polishing

  • PURPOSE. This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the surface characteristics of a full veneer crown fabricated chairside (CS) from a (Y, Nb)-TZP zirconia block in response to conventional zirconia grinding and polishing. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Zirconia crowns (n = 40) were first prepared and divided into two groups of materials: Labside (LS) and CS, after which each specimen went through a five-step grinding and polishing procedure. Following each surface treatment, surface characteristics were analyzed using confocal laser microscopy (CLSM), average surface roughness (Ra) values were processed from the profile data through Gaussian filtering, and X-ray diffraction pattern analysis was performed to evaluate the monoclinic (M) phase content. Then, a representative specimen was selected for field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), followed by a final analysis of the roughness and X-ray diffraction of the specimens using the independent t-test and repeated measures analysis of variance (RM-ANOVA). RESULTS. In every group, polishing significantly reduced the Ra values (P < .001). There was no significant difference in Ra between the polished state CS and LS. Furthermore, CLSM and FE-SEM investigations revealed that even though grain exposure was visible in CS specimens throughout the as-delivered and ground states, the exposure was reduced after polishing. Moreover, while no phase transformation was visible in the LS, phase transformation was visible in CS after every surface treatment, with the M phase content of the CS group showing a significant reduction after polishing (P < .001). CONCLUSION. Within the limits of this study, clinically acceptable level of surface finishing of (Y, Nb)-TZP can be achieved after conventional zirconia polishing sequence.

연속주조용 탄소강에서 상변화에 따른 열팽창 및 수축 거동 (Thermal Expansion and Contraction Characteristics of Continuous Casting Carbon Steels)

  • The air gap between the metal and mold, formed by shrinkage during solidification, causes surface and subsurface cracks in the continuous casting process. Molten crack on the surface might also occur due to improper heat transfer between them. In order to compensate the air gap in mold design, the thermal contraction is an essential factor. In this study, the thermal contraction and expansion behaviors were examined from the ($\alpha$ and pearlite)/${\gamma}$ to ${\gamma}$/$\delta$ transformations in continuous casting steels by the commercial dilatometer and the self- assembled dilatometer with laser distance measurement. It was found that the thermal contraction and expansion behaviors were very dependant on the phase transformation of the ${\gamma}$/$\delta$ as well as ($\alpha$ and pearlite)/${\gamma}$. The sudden volume change from $\delta$ to ${\gamma}$ which might cause cracks in the continuous casting process, was observed on cooling just below the melting temperature by the self-assembled dilatometer.
