  • Many visualization tools have been designed to aid information processing during whole genome projects. We have developed a trace viewer program, ChroView, which can read a chromatogram file and display the chromatogram traces of the four bases. The program can be used to examine sequencing quality and base-calling errors. It can also help researchers to edit and save base-calling results while browsing the traces. Additionally, this program has a basecalling feature which can produce supplementary data for validation of the results from other base-calling programs.

  • The magnetic jack type Control Element Drive Mechanism (CEDM) had been developed and verified through electromechanical testing including the testing of the magnetic force required to lift the control element assembly. It would become inefficient in view of cost and time for parametric studies to be performed by test to improve the CEDM system. So it becomes necessary to develop a computational model to simulate the electromagnetic characteristics of the CEDM in order to improve the CEDM design efficiently. In this paper it is presented that the electromagnetic analysis using a 2D axisymmetric FEM model has been carried out to simulate the operation of the latch magnet of the CEDM to generate a current trace for latch coil. The results show the calculated current trace is very similar to the real current trace taken from the CEDM.

  • Rainwater runoff has been identified as a significant source of contaminants having tremendous impact on the receiving aquatic environment. In the present study, trace element transport by the surface runoff in the predominantly urban catchment of Guwahati city, India was monitored with a view to determine the chemical denudation rates of the land surface. A number of trace metals, namely Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb and Zn were measured in the runoff after 70 major rain events within the city. Cadmium was found to be the least abundant metal and Iron was the most abundant metal in the runoff. The results are interpreted on the basis of temporal and spatial variations in their concentrations. These variations are quite large in some of the events and reflect changes in the local environmental setting, differences in water utilization, variations in runoff volume, gradient and quality.

  • Recently the attention of the trace elements in arisen to the biochemical importances and the biochemical significances have been discussed and shown by several workers. And also UN-narcotic Committee has shown that geographical difference of Optimum based on the produced area, would be significant on its contents of trace elements. The problem of Rice in Korea is urgently important on the nutritional and agricultural view points for the soil improvement of its production and for the betterment of health program. In order to check the adaptability of cultural problems to the different qualities of the with regards to the kinds of rice spieces and in order to know the comsumption of trace elements through rice, the contents of trace elements on 40 samples of the polished rice sampled from the different areas consisting in 8 kinds of rice species are studied on contents of Al, MN, Ni, Zn, Co, Cu and Fe in this paper. Though the further wide spread studies should be carried out. It seems that Al, Fe and Ni contents show little differences by the kinds of rices species and Cu, Al, Mn, Zn, and Ni contents show geographically little differences. But these differences are not significant statistically. The Co was not detected from the rice samples. It is not clear whether Co content in rice is a undetectable amount or the Co is absent in rice at all.

  • A trace-and-revoke scheme is a type of broadcast encryption scheme for content protection on various platforms such as pay-per-view TV and DVD players. In 2006, Boneh and Waters (BW) presented a fully collusion-resistant trace-and-revoke scheme. However, a decisive drawback of their scheme is to require composite-order groups. In this paper, we present a new trace-and-revoke scheme that works in prime-order groups. Our scheme is fully collusion-resistant and achieves ciphertexts and private keys of size O($\sqrt{N}$) for N users. For the same level of security, our scheme is better than the BW scheme in all aspects of efficiency. Some superior features include 8.5 times faster encryption, 12 times faster decryption, and 3.4 times shorter ciphertexts. To achieve our goal, we introduce a novel technique where, by using asymmetric bilinear maps in prime-order groups, the cancellation effect same as in composite-order groups can be obtained.

  • From a software engineering point of view, tracing is a special form of logging that records program execution information. Tracers using dedicated hardware are often used because of the characteristics of tracers that need to generate and decode huge amounts of data in real time. Intel(R) PT uses proprietary hardware to record all information about software execution on each hardware thread. When the software execution is completed, the PT can process the trace data of the software and reconstruct the correct program flow. The hardware trace program can be integrated into the operating system, but in the case of the window system, the integration is not tight due to problems such as the kernel opening. Also, it is possible to trace only a single process and not provide a way to trace multiple process streams. In this paper, we propose a method to extend existing PT trace program to support multi - process stream traceability in Windows environment in order to overcome these disadvantages.

  • In this paper, we present a performance monitor to trace and evaluate the performance of programs running on networked computers. The performance monitor of the JaNeC is online/batch as well as event/time driven. Since it is implemented with the Java programming language, it provides us with high portability among heterogeneous computer systems, and friendly graphical user interface. This performance monitor consists of various views such as 'Task/Event Filter' and 'TimeLine', 'Task View', 'Task Hoistory', 'Message Passing View', 'Host Cpu View', which allow the user to easily analyze event and time during the program execution.

  • The Seoul city recommended that old apartments be preserved, and as part of that, it decided to preserve some of the buildings for Jamsil Jugong, which was built in 1977, and Gaepo Jugong, which was constructed in 1981. The purpose of this study was to compare and review newspaper articles with two perspectives positive and negative about how the social perception of 'apartment trace remaining' was being constructed. By looking at the meaning of keywords delivered by newspaper articles and the interaction structure between keywords through the analysis of semantic networks, we analyzed how the media is pursuing an issue on the topic of preservation of architectural cultural heritage. The analysis results confirmed that there was a clear difference between positive and negative newspaper. Positive articles dealt with utilization from the point of view of keywords linked to preservation, and negative articles showed that keywords related to the property and backlash of residents linked to the policy of the Seoul Metropolitan Government were linked, leading to high negative public opinion.

  • In this paper, a view point tracking system has been realized for outdoor augmented reality including broad area monitoring. Since the surroundings of the moving view point are changing, it is necessary to track the position and observation moment of the view point system for consistency between real and virtual images. For this reason, the GPS(Global Positioning System) is applied to the realized system for tracking the information on position and direction of the moving system. In addition, an optical position tracking system that is able to track view point in a limited area is used, because the local tracking system has to trace the image variation, seen to the observer in a moving vehicle, at a particular position and time. It was found that the realized outdoor augmented reality system, which combined the virtual information tracked in real time with the real image, can be very practical in various application area.

  • Although scanners are much more expensive than other input devices expect for some low quality devices, raster scanner and vectorizing softwares have been used and will be used as a means for the data entry in GIS. In this study, the accuracy of raster data and vectorizing in data entry by scanning technology, the coverage generation are investigated. As a result, the deterioration of spatial resolution can be improved by using the histogram analysis and the line enhancement when we scan a map at a lower dpi. It is to be desired that a raster scanner dpi is selected 150 dpi or 200 dpi among five densities (75 dpi, 150, dpi, 200 dpi, 300 dpi, 400 dpi) in view of the storage of raster data and the RMSE of coverage generation. Also, it was very important role of the choice of trace parameters to trace raster data in the vectorizing procedure.
