  • The rotor speed and flux information is most important in the vector control. The accuracy of flux observers for induction machine inherently depends on parameter sensitivity. The control strategy is using online flux observer for flux estimation. In the proposed system, the speed control characteristics using a online flux observer control isn't affected by a load torque parameter disturbance. Simulation results are presented to prove the effectiveness of the adaptive sliding mode controller for the drive variable load of induction motor.

  • This Paper presents a vector control method for the parallel-connected motor drive system. The new estimation scheme of rotor flux position is presented to reduce sensitivity due to load difference between the motors. To confirm the validity of the proposed control method, we compare a simulation result of the proposed control method with that of the conventional indirect vector control method. The simulation results show that the proposed control method is more effective step change in load torque.

  • Industrial interest in switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives has varied since 1850s. This has been primarily due to the emerging markets for variable speed drives in consumer and industrial products, such as home appliances, air conditioning, hand tools, fans, pump motor, etc. However, SRM has been plagued with the acoustic noise and vibration problem by input power of fixed section. Therefore, This paper offers operating characteristics by dynamic simulation through the generalization of inductance profile and estimation of inductance according to current. the control methode are applied from DSP(digital signal processor) with voltage reference and position detection.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive sliding mode observer-based control of induction motors with uncertainties. The proposed adaptive sliding mode flux observer generates estimates both for the unknown parameters(load torque and rotor resistance) and for the unmeasured state variable (rotor fluxes); they converge to the corresponding true value under persistency of excitation which actually holds in typical operating conditions. The proposed controller guarantees speed tracking and bounded signals for every initial condition of the motor. Simulations show that all estimation errors tend quickly to zero so that high tracking performances are achieved both for speed and rotor flux.

  • In this paper an improved re-adhesion control scheme is proposed for IC4M(1-Controller 4-Motors) traction system. It is well known that the coefficient of adhesion between wheel and rail has a maximum value at a certain slip velocity. In the proposed scheme, maximum adhesive force is estimated by an observer and the driving torque of motor is controlled to set maximum adhesive force. The simulation results are presented.

  • This work presents a study on development of a practical and quantitative technique for assessment of the structural health condition by Piezoelectric impedance-based technique associated with longitudinal wave propagation method. The bolt fastening condition is adjusted by torque wrench. In order to estimate the damage condition numerically, three damage indices, impedance peak frequency shift ${\Delta}F$, peak amplitude ratio $\delta$ and quality factor ratio $\gamma$, are proposed in this paper. Furthermore, an assessment method is described for estimation of the damage by using these three damage indices.

  • Permanent magnet synchronous motors are mainly used in the traction of electric vehicle and home application products including air-conditioners and refrigerators. For sensorless control without rotor position sensors, I-F control is applied for initial starting at low speeds, and mode is changed to sensorless control when the rotor speed is sufficiently accelerated for estimating rotor position. When the mode is changed to the sensorless control from the open-loop starting, the initial integral value of the speed controller should be considered by load condition; otherwise, the transition to sensorless control may fail. The sensorless transfer algorithm of PM synchronous motor based on load condition for smooth transition is proposed. The performance of the proposed sensorless transfer algorithm was verified by experiments.

  • An adaptive input-output linearization technique of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor with a specified output dynamic performance is proposed. The adaptive parameter estimation is achieved by a model reference adaptive technique where the stator resistance and the magnitude of flux linkage can be estimated with the current dynamic model and state observer. Using these estimated parameters, the linearizing control inputs are calculated. With these control inputs, the input-output linearization is performed and the load torque is estimated. The adaptation laws are derived by the Popov's hyperstability theory and the positivity concept. The robustness and the output dynamic performance of the proposed control scheme are verified through the computer simulations.
