  • In this paper, the performance of a hybrid direct-sequence/slow-frequency-hoped (DS/SFH) spread-spectrum (SS) system with noncoherent DPSK modulation is considered. Th ebit error probability is derived ovef a rayleigh fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming. Numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system is shown to be inferior to that of a pure DS SS system at low jamming-to-signal power ratio (JSR). At high JSR, the performance of a pure DS SS system is shown to be the same as the worst case peformance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system.

  • In this paper, performance of a hybrid direct-sequency/slow-frequency-hopped (DS/SFH) spread-spectrum (SS) system with coherent BPSK modulation is analyzed. The bit error probability is derived over a frequency=-selective rician fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming. The fading channel is modeled as the wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (WSSUS) model. Numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system is shown to be inferior to that of a ure DS SS system at low jamming-to-signal power ratio (JSR). At high JSR, the performance of a pure DS SS system is shown to be the smae as the worst case performance of a hybrid DS/SFH SS system.

  • In the defence wireless communications, conventional Anti-Jamming techniques(Frequency Hopping/Spread Spectrum or Direct Sequence/Spread Spectrum) are used to overcome a intentional interfering signals which are single/multitone or partial band jammer etc. DS/SS techniques is very strong on tone jamming signal but not to be on a partial band jammer. So FH/SS AJ performances are expected method of an substitution of DS/SS, however FH/SS could not have good performance on some BMTJ(Band Multi-tone Jammer). So this paper proposes FH-CSS (Frequency Hopped - Chirp Spread Spectrum) to get more robustness against jammers(BMTJ, PBNJ) and analyze the AJ performances.

  • The combination of the broadband property and the wide area coverage of satellite communications enables high speed transmission. Every user in the region under the satellite beam coverage can tranceiver and one can simultaneously communicate with multiple users. For these reasons, it is one of commendable telecommunication networks for information transfer. Since the satellite communications use open channels, it is likely to cause jamming with unwanted interference signals. In the thesis, APSK (Amplitude Phase Shift Keying) is employed, which is recommended for DVB-S2 due to high-speed transmission and excellent bandwidth efficiency. For obtaining reliable communication under the jamming environments, the communication satellite transponder rests on the polyphase filter bank structure, which enables switching among the subchannels and gain control on each subchannel, resulting in effectively eliminating jamming. Furthermore, the nulling scheme, one of the various anti-jamming approaches, is investigated, in which unwanted jamming signals are eliminated in the frequency domain after passing through the analysis part of the polyphase filter bank. The performance of the nulling scheme is evaluated for tone jamming and partial band jamming in terms of BER and EVM. The simulation results indicate that the nulling scheme improve the BER and EVM performance over the case without any anti-jamming approach.

  • It is important to use the comb type pilot allocation for the continuous channel and efficient processing. And DFT-spreading OFDM is used a lot to solve high PAPR problem of OFDM system. However, PAPR is increased again when comb type pilot is used to estimate channel characteristics. So, in this paper, we employ a new SLM method to DFT-spreading OFDM system to reduce increased high PAPR. And we suggest an effective method to transmit side information without additional bandwidth. Pilot and side information must be preserved from jamming or intentional interferences since those are very important in DFT spread OFDM system using SLM. So, in this paper, we like to analyze and simulate the performance of DFT spread OFDM system based on SLM against jamming signal. To remedy the vulnerable shortcomings of DFT spread OFDM about jamming or intentional interferences, we employ FH(Frequency Hopping) method and analyze system performance under the several jamming conditions such as MTJ(Multi Tone Jamming) and PBJ(Partial Band Jamming).

  • In this paper, LPI(low probability of intercept) and AJ(anti jamming) performance of the chirped BPSK system are analyzed. In the chirp method the cyclostationary of the signal is eliminated, since the instantaneous frequency is varied randomly within the whole spread bandwidth. Therefore, chirp method is considered for good LPI system against DAM(delay-and-multiplier) or SC (squaring circuit) interceptor which detects the chip rate or carrier frequency. Longer chirp duration makes the LPI performance better. From the simulation results, the chirp method has better AJ performance than DS(direct sequence) system in the PBNJ(partial band noise jammer) channel. At the same JSR(jammer to signal power ratio) level, chirped BPSK system has more robust AJ performance against MTJ(multi-tone jammer) than PBNJ.

  • This paper shows the performance of FH /BFSK communication systems under worst case Jamming interference. The channel Is modeled with ratio-threshold technique, and as a lamming signal the tone Jamming and Gaussian Jamming are used. The performance is analyzed by using the channel capacity which is the code rate and bit signal-to-Jammer ratio, and we show that the performance degration becomes large as background noise Is big and obtain the best performance when the threshold level f is about 1.5.

  • This paper shows that the error probabilities for coherent and noncoherent BF나 systems combined with FH in the presence of single channel tone interference. The performance is developed as functions of the signal to noise ratio and jamming to noise ratio. A specific results for two phases of ㅠ/4 and ㅠ/2 is obtained.

  • In this paper, the performance of a hybrid DS/SFH-SS(direct-sequence/slow-frequency-hopped spread-spectrum) system with coherent BPSK modulation over Nakagami fading channel in the presence of multiple tone jamming is analyzed. Because the Nakagami m-distribution can describe not only Rayleigh fading but also more general fluctuations involving a specular component by adjusting the value of the fading index m. It is known that for m=1 corresponds to Rayleigh fading, for $1/2{\le}m{\le}1$ corresponds to the worst case fading condition, for m>1 corresponds to Rician fading, and for $m{\to}{\infty}$ corresponds to the nonfading condition. The bit error probability is derived over Nakagami model and numerical evaluations are presented for some combinations of system parameters. The results show that as m increases, the bit error probability is better. Also, at a low JSR(jamming-to-signal power ratio), a pure DS-SS system can achieve lower bit error probability than a hybrid DS/SFH-SS system. But at a high JSR, a hybrid DS/SFH-SS system is shown to be superior to a pure DS-SS system. Therefore, it is demonstrated that without increasing the total system bandwidth, the performance of a hybrid DS/SFH-SS is superior to that of a pure DS-SS system in the presence of multiple tone jamming.
