A Comparative Study on the Competitiveness of the Alignment Zones in the Capital Area (수도권 정비 권역별 입지 경쟁력 비교 연구)

  • In the context of sustainability which is understood as equilibrium among three elements; human, space and time, the imbalance within the Seoul metropolitan area hinders its own area or the nation from development. Claims for the balanced development in the area are set up on the premise that there is a locational order of priority among the zones named 'overpopulation suppression', 'growth management' and 'conservation'. Based on the systematic consideration of competitiveness this study adopts the premise as a research hypothesis. Factor scales derived from the factor analysis, a kind of multivariate dependence analysis play an important role in this research process since they are measured by interval-ratio level and can be used for dependent variables in the statistical analysis. The hypothesis test carried out by means of the analysis of variance(ANOVA) concludes that the hypothesis assuming no difference in the competitiveness is rejected but the alternative hypothesis of the locational order mentioned above should be adjusted. Eigenvalues derived from the factor analysis could be used as weights for aggregate factor scales and the scales show that the priority is in the order of growth management - overpopulation suppression - conservation zones. This finding has also a significant implication that the countermeasures to cope with the lowering of the competitiveness resulted from the continuous and absolute restraints should be provided. And strategic approaches which are composed of key factors for each zone are deducted from in-depth review. (1) overpopulation suppression zone; health-welfare, educational base, public service factors, focusing on health-welfare one, (2) growth management zone; public service factor and (3) conservation zone; health-welfare, educational base factors, also focusing on health-welfare one.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate purchasing variables in the organic food consumption level in Busan. To achieve this purpose, 240 residential women who are organic food consumers were chosen. Among them, 149 women took part in the study. The questionnaire was composed of three parts: 8 demographic characteristics, 9 organic food purchasing conditions, and 22 purchasing variables. The research was continued from August 20th until September 10th, 2007. To derive the results, descriptive analysis, factor analysis, and ANOVA were used by spss 14.0. To sum up the results, three organic food consumption groups were classified into high, middle, and low consumption levels depending on buying condition for organic material. For the factor analysis, 5 factors were named as confidence, quality, safety, appearance, and economy. On the high consumption level, economy factor was highly important than other groups. In general, price would be a more sensitive factor, so they answered the adjusted price range; 52 participants said under 10%, 22 between 11% and 20%, and 17 over 40%.

The Relationship between Age-friendly Environment and Life Satisfaction : A Comparison of Three Different Age Groups (고령친화환경과 삶의 만족도의 관계 : 연령집단별 비교를 중심으로)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the influence age-friendly environment factors on different age groups' life satisfaction. Data were taken from "2014 Survey on the Aged Society", with total of 1,000 participants divided into three groups: 300 youth participants from age 20 to 44, 300 middle aged participants from age 45 to 64, and older adults participants from age 65 and more. Performing ANOVA and multiple regression analysis showed that age-friendly environment factors had positive correlations with life satisfaction, regardless of the participants'age. However, the sub-dimensions of age-friendly environment that affected each age group was different. Among three sub-dimensions of age-friendly environment, which were housing factor, social participation factor, and community and health service factor, only housing factor affected life satisfaction of the youth group, while both community and health service factor, and housing factor affected life satisfaction of the middle-aged and the elderly groups. The result clearly presents that age-friendly environment factors are not only beneficial for older people but for people at all ages. Therefore, various measures need to be taken in order to increase the age-friendliness of communities, and improve the quality of life.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences of visual image on variations in the length and princess line, in a silhouette of a one-piece dress with the application of the 3D Virtual Clothing System known as i-designer. Eight sample were examined: 2 variations of the length and 2 variations of the princess line, 2 variations of the form of a silhouette. The data was obtained from 66 fashion design majors. The data was assessed by a t-test and a multi-way ANOVA and factor analysis. The results were as follows; The visual image according to the design variables, four factors were selected; the attractiveness factor, the activeness factor, the practicality factor, the elegance factor. In these factors, the attractiveness factor is estimated by the most important factor. As a result of analyzing the effect of the interaction in the visual image according to the design variables, the influence of the main effect was found to be great in each factor. In the activeness factor, a significant difference was noted in the two-way interaction between the length and the princess line, the length and the silhouette. In the elegance factor, a significant difference was noted in the two-way interaction between the length and the silhouette. However, the influence on three-way interaction among the length, the princess line, and the silhouette was not significant.

Effects of Medial, Lateral Wedge and Difference of Quadriceps Angle on Vastus Medialis Oblique/Vastus Lateralis Muscle Activity Ratios (내·외측 Wedge와 넙다리네갈래근 각의 차이가 안쪽빗넓은근/가쪽넓은근 비에 미치는 영향)

  • Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is often attributed to malalignment and maltracking of patella within the patellofemoral joint. Most exercise for PFPS has focused on selectively strengthening the vastus medialis oblique muscle (VMO). This study was designed to identify the effect of medial, lateral wedge and difference of Quadriceps angle (Q-angle) on vastus medialis oblique/vastus lateralis muscle (VL) activity ratios. The subjects were twenty young adult males who had not experienced any knee injury. They were asked to perform isometric contraction exercises in three postures using medial and lateral wedge. The EMG activity of the VL and VMO were recorded in three postures by surface electrodes and normalized by %MVC values derived from seated, isometric knee extensions. The normalized EMG activity levels (%MVC) of the VL and VMO for the three postures of the lower extremities were compared using 2-way repeated measures ANOVA with 1 between-subject factor (group), and 1 within-subject factor (wedge). Results of repeated measures of ANOVA's revealed that the medial wedge isometric contraction exercise produced significantly greater EMG activity of VMO/VL ratios in Group I (Q-angle $18^{\circ}$ or less) (p<.05). But, the medial wedge isometric contraction exercise was no significant difference of VMO/VL ratios in Group II (Q-angle $19^{\circ}$ or more) (p>.05). These results have important implications for selective VMO muscle strengthening exercises in PFPS patients.

Effects of Consumer's Ethical Consumption Consciousness and Lifestyle on Sustainable Fashion (윤리적 소비의식 및 라이프 스타일이 지속가능패션 제품의 소비에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of consumer's ethical consumption consciousness and lifestyle on sustainable fashion. The data was analyzed by reliability analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, and multiple regression. The major results of this study were as follows. First, three factors of sustainable fashion were identified: eco-friendliness, recycling, and safety. Second, three factors of ethical consumption consciousness were identified: social ethics, environmental ethics, and public ethics. Based on these factors, the subjects were categorized into three clusters (high, middle, and low ethical consumption consciousness group). Third, four factors of life style were identified: pursuit of brand, appearance, cautiousness, and information. Based on these four factors, the subjects were categorized into three clusters (brand/appearance, cautiousness/information, and unconcerned group). Fourth, three factors of ethical consumption consciousness significantly influenced eco-friendliness factor of sustainable fashion. Also, the recycling factor of sustainable fashion was influenced by social ethics, environmental ethics, pursuit of brand, and pursuit of information. The safety factor of sustainable fashion was influenced by environmental ethics, public ethics, and pursuit of information. The results of this study suggest that practical and various environmental education need to be provided to consumers, because high environmental ethical consciousness consumers evaluated sustainable fashion positively. Additionally, accurate information on eco-friendliness, recycling, and safety of clothing products would need to be provided by fashion businesses through various routes, because those with information-pursuing lifestyle were found to have deep interests in sustainable fashion.

  • This study was to investigate difference across socioeconomic groups in factors of purchase intention of apparel in internet shopping mall and in satisfaction were internet shopping mall. A questionnaire was administered to collage students majoring in fashion design during May of 2001. Data was analyzed by using Factor analysis, T-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan test, ${\chi}^2$-test. Factor analysis yield three factors of purchase intention, purchase stimulus, convenience and economic and rationality. Significant differences were found across levels of monthly pocket money and types of payment for purchase apparel of internet shopping mall purchase stimulus (factor 1). In convenience and economics (factor 2), differences were also significant across levels of purchase frequency, product price and payment ways of internet sopping mall. Significant difference was identified across sex type and levels of product price purchased in internet shopping mall (factor 3). Regarding internet shopping mall satisfaction, differences were significant across levels monthly pocket money and apparel purchase frequency of in internet shopping mall.

A Taxonomy of Female Consumers in Daegu (의복쇼핑성향에 따른 소비자의 유형분석 -대구 여성 거주자를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of the study were to classify apparel shoppers into specific apparel shopping orientation groups and to compare the classified groups on importance of store attributes, information sources, lifestyle activities, and demographic characteristics. The data were obtained from questionnaires filled out by 317 women in Daegu and were analysed by utilizing factor analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. By cluster analysis of apparel shopping orientation factors, three groups were identified: Recreational shopper (48%), Economic shoppers (20%), Apathetic shoppers (32%). The results of ANOVA indicated that the cluster groups are significantly different in importance of store attributes (product assortment and shopping convenience), information sources (marketer-driven and consumer -driven), lifestyle activities (regular activities and activites for self-improvement), and IPmnuraDhic characteristics (age and education).

  • Twenty six subject drove screws with a screw driver into thick wooden sheet at three vertical and horizontal locations. Subjects drive screws for 3 minutes at each location and they assessed the conditon using the psychophysical scale. An ANOVA showed that only vertical location was a signicant factor in determining the pain ratings of various body parts. Driving screws at elbow height on the vertical surface ans with the lower arm close to the body on the horizontal surface were the work locations with the smallest ratings of perceived pain and discomfort. Wearing gloves had significant effects on reducing the pain of the hand.

A Variation of Health Service Utilization in Wonju City (시군통합 원주시 내의 의료서비스 이용의 변이)

  • This study intends to examine the behavioral pattern and small area variations of health service utilization within Wonju city. We selected three small areas in Wonju city as the study site: Haksung-dong(central area of the city), Moonmak-myun (industrial area which is located 25km away from the center of the city), and Gure-myun (agricultural area which is located 32km away from the center). The data were collected by administering questionnaire interviews with 526 people in three areas. The questionnaire include the items on health service utilization behaviors, sociodemographic characteristics, health status, and perceptions. The statistical methods used for the analysis were ANOVA and hierarchical logistic regression. From the analysis, it was found that there was a variation of health service utilization by areas. Compared to those of other areas, the respondents from agricultural area showed a high probability of using health services. When respondents' personal characteristics were taken into account, the effect of dummy variables representing areas disappeared. Instead, the perceived health status became the prime factor of health service utilization. This result showed that the small area variations of health service utilization is due to the demand factor rather than the supply factor.
