Circulation planning for exhibition space depends on visitors, exhibition documents and exhibition space. To make visitors feel sympathy for the exhibition and meet visitors' movement and its spatial factors in the exhibition, guidelines for the planning layout of exhibition and exhibition space are needed. This research was aimed at gathering guidelines about the circulation planning for exhibition space for visitors who can acquire exhibition information in a natural way and enjoy the whole aspect of exhibition or enjoy preferential exhibition by investigating and analyzing viewing types of visitors, layout of exhibition and space unit exhibition. The result of this research was summarized as the following. 1) It needs optional viewing space large enough to be seen clearly so that all exhibition space can be seen at a glance at the main entrance of exhibition. 2) Layout of exhibition is needed for island-exhibition position and optional space preparation, when visitors pass by an article on exhibition short-cut. 3) Layout of exhibition is needed for double sided exhibition.
The exhibition space is a concept that is used to extract only the function of exhibition in an art museum combined with various cultural facilities. It mediates works, audience, and space. Therefore, it is considered that the exhibition space will not only judge the space by the form of the building, but also the true meaning will appear when the exhibition, the space and the environment coexist. His exhibition space has a story from the outside to the inside and the exhibition. In this study, we try to understand the characteristics of his space by analyzing the way of organizing exhibition and exhibition in his exhibition space. As a result of analyzing the cases suggested on this thesis through this point of view, Ando Tadao represented characteristics of his own exhibition space by harmonizing the demand of each exhibition space with his architecture language. His exhibition space provides the experiential space in the harmony of the nature and artificiality as inpouring the nature into the complex traffic line. And, the exhibition is constituted as a result of fully considering the overall situation of the space environment. He tries uniting the space and art by interpreting the work in the space rather than arranging the works. Consequently, It gives visitors the direct space experience through the intentional traffic line and is becoming an exhibition space that can express the exhibition only in that space as constituting it differently in accordance with the character of work.
This study shows the following results. First, the assessment items of the whole exhibition operation, workforce, counselor's ability, facility and environment were important analysis factors for exhibition recognition, quality of human operation and quality of exhibition facility and environment. Second, exhibition recognition was found to be the most significant factor that influenced exhibitor's cognitive achievement, exhibition employee operation and exhibition facility. Third, exhibitors' satisfaction simultaneously increased as exhibition recognition and employee operation quality were raised. However, exhibition facility didn't strongly influence exhibitors' satisfaction. Fourth, high exhibition recognition, employee operation and exhibition facility resulted in high cognitive achievement and exhibitor's loyalty. Fifth, exhibition recognition is a highly influential factor to mediate exhibitor's cognitive achievement and exhibitors' loyalty. It implied that exhibitors' cognitive achievement and satisfaction were significantly related to the exhibition quality factor. Moreover, it indicated the effective and efficient operational method to strengthen promotional strategy, enhance the quality of employee operation, exhibition facility and environment. Thus, the results suggest a new method to evaluate exhibitor's satisfaction in the exhibition industry.
Today, museum exhibition can be divided into two sub-categories: a. informative exhibition with various useful auxiliary media to convey knowledge and b. appreciative exhibition considering aesthetic conveyance and visual/perceptual environment. In addition to this, the concept of memorial exhibition as a field that tangible and intangible memories are transmitted and reproduced is creating another genre of exhibition. As an example of such a memorial exhibition above, the work of de-constructive architect Daniel Libeskind was selected. Jewish Museum and Imperial War Museum North both of which maximized the exhibition space by grafting architectural language to exhibition narrative were analyzed and compared to see if the same architectural language can be displayed differently in another form of exhibition after being drawn into the exhibition space depending on the changes in time and perspective. Therefore, in the narrative display combining the selection of exhibition contents and storytelling, the formative language of space can confirm that exhibition narrative as an ending structure changed into a retelling story with more extended meanings through interactive factors. Eventually, in this formative narrative, when the display of historical facts and exhibition themes is combined with the architectural language in an exhibition hall according to the approach direction, the memorial exhibition can create a formative language stimulating sensibility in the memories of space and a differentiated formative exhibition space where one is truly moved by oneness of contents.
An exhibition administrator, one who works in the exhibition space of museums and exhibition halls, has carried on various tasks in order to improve the exhibition standard and viewer's satisfaction. Although exhibition administrators have a variety of direct perceptions regarding an exhibition in the actual on-site space, a study on their consciousness was absent. Thus, this study was to comprehend the awareness of how the consciousness of exhibition administrators, who directly understand the various matters regarding the exhibition on-site, was structured and to investigate the difference between the consciousness of exhibition viewers and designers. For the study, Q-Methodology, which can scientifically manage the consciousness such as awareness and the acquired attitudes through individual experiences from a specific group, was applied. The classification of 33 Q-methodology research questions was carried out with 18 exhibition administrators, who are working at either national or public museums and exhibition halls in Korea, and the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) using the QUANL PC program was performed. The results of the analysis provided the following 4 types: 'viewer attraction and exhibition method oriented', 'exhibition standard oriented', 'public relations oriented' and 'the public and government's interest oriented'. Each type showed significant characteristics. Additionally, n showed that 'exhibition standard oriented' was the common type after comparing the type of consciousness among the 3 groups of people, such as an exhibition administrator, an exhibition designer, and a viewer. It indicated that the types of 'public relations oriented' and 'the public and government's interest oriented' from the consciousness category for the exhibition administrator were the most independent type, not being found in any of the other groups. And the Significant correlation between the exhibition viewers and designers was identified after examining the Pearson's correlation among the 3 groups.

Modern exhibition design is getting more importance on the research on forms including basic features and exhibition space relations of forms. The purpose of this study was to examine the facilities, the current status, and the problems of Korean Exhibition Industry and to provide its future direction based on analysis of the characteristics and the recent trend of German Exhibition Industry. Data were obtained from previous research papers, periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. Also, statistical data provided by AUMA(Ausstellungs- und Messe- Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft e.V.), Association of Korean Exhibition Industries, and Global Exhibition Portal were used. In the result part of this study, various issues such as similarities and differences between Korean and German Exhibition Industry and problems of Korean Exhibition Industry were discussed. The strategies to improve the competitiveness of Korean Exhibition Industry were suggested. They are as follows ; development of global and specialized exhibitions, training of professional human resources for exhibition, formulating of aggressive and powerful oversee marketing, formation of oversee network, improving of laws, regulation and system in such a way to meet the realistic needs of exhibition, building of infrastructure such as roads, traffic networks and accomodations, raise of the Korea image and strengthen of quality of exhibition service.
