Wafer pre-alignment is to find the center and the orientation of a wafer and to move the wafer to the desired position and orientation. In this paper, an area camera based pre-aligning method is presented that captures 8 wafer images regularly during 360 degrees rotation. From the images, wafer edge positions are extracted and used to estimate the wafer's center and orientation using least square circle fitting. These information are utilized for the proper alignment of the wafer.
To find one side of the square equal to the area of a circle is an unsolved problem. Likewise, to think one side of the cube equal to the volume of a sphere is another unsolved problem. There are four methods to find the area of the circle and the volume of the sphere. This paper aims to weigh each method against the other in finding the answers of the problems in the Chosun Dynasty and investigate their own characters.
Measurements of phase identification and degree of orientation for fine-grained (about 0.3 mm in diameter) minerals in rock samples performed by micro-area X-ray diffractometer.$Al_{2}SiO_{5}$ polymorphs (andalusite, kyanite and sillimanite) were chosen for the measurements and target minerals were existed on thin sections. Micro-area X-ray diffractometer is composed of 3(${\omega}\;{\chi}\;{\phi}$)-circle oscillating goniometer and position sensitive proportional counter (PSPC). $CuK_{\alpha}$ radiation was used as X-ray source and a pin hole ($50\;\mu\textrm{m}$$ in diameter) collimator was selected to focus radiation X-ray onto the target minerals. Phase identification and diffracted X-ray peak indexing were carried out by 3(${\omega}\;{\chi}\;{\phi}$)-circle oscillation measurement. Then, 2(${\omega}\;{\phi}$)-circle oscillation measurement was made for the purpose of searching the prevailing lattice plane of the minerals on thin section surface. Finally, for a selected peak by 2-circle oscillation measurement, X-ray pole figure measurement was executed for the purpose of check the degree of orientation of the single lattice direction and examine its pole distribution. As a result of 3-circle oscillation measurement, it was possible that phase identification among $Al_{2}SiO_{5}$ polymorphs. And from the results of 2-circle oscillation measurement and X-ray pole figure measurement, we recognized that poles of andalusite (122), kyanite (200) and sillimanite (310) lattice plances were well developed with direction normal to each mineral surface plane respectively. Therfore, the measurements used with micro-area X-ray diffractometer in this study will be a useful tool of phase identification and degree of orientation measurement for fine-grained rock forming minerals.

Lineament density maps can be used for the quantitative evaluation of relationship between lineaments and groundwater occurrence. There are several kinds of lineament density maps including lineament length density, lineament cross-points density, and lineament counts density maps. This paper reports the usefulness of the representative elementary area (REA) concept for lineament analysis. This concept refers to the area size of the unit circle to calculate the lineament density factors distributed within the circle: length, counts and cross-points counts. The circle is a unit circle that calculates the sum of the lineament length, lineament counts and the number of cross-points within it. The REA is needed to obtain the best representative lineament density map prior to the analysis of relation between lineaments and groundwater well yield or other groundwater characteristics. A basic lineament map for the Yongsangang-Seomjingang watershed of Korea, drawn from aerial black-and-white photographs of 1/20, 000 scale was used for demonstrating the concept. From this study, the conclusions were as follows: (1) the REA concept can be efficiently applied to the lineament density analysis and mapping, (2) for whole Yongsangang-Seomjingang watershed which has 6, 502 lineaments with an average lineament length of 3.3 km, the lower limits of each REA used for drawing the three density maps were about 1.77 $\textrm{km}^2$ (r=750 m) for lineament length density, 7.07 $\textrm{km}^2$ (r=1, 500 m) for lineament counts density, and 4.91 $\textrm{km}^2$ (r=1, 250 m) for lineament cross-points density, respectively, (3) the lineament densities are inversely proportional to the size of REA, and the REA can be calculated with this inversely linear regression model, (4) if the average lineament density values for the whole study area are known, the most accurate density maps can be drawn using the REAs obtained from each linear regression model, and (5) but critical attention should be paid to draw lineament counts density and lineament cross-points density maps because.
Purpose: A system to measure the visibility of agricultural tractor operators was designed and evaluated according to ISO standards, and a blind area diagram around the tested tractor was created based on the manual method recommended by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Methods: A visibility measurement system was designed and evaluated based on the ISO 5006 and ISO 5721-1 standards. Two bulbs used to simulate the operator's eyes were mounted on a bar with a supporting frame. A wooden frame was used to determine the seat index point position. The 12-m visibility test circle was divided into six sectors of vision, and the test tractor was placed at the center of the circle. Artificial light was supplied in the darkened environment, and shadow or masking effects were measured manually around the 12-m circle. Results: When the bulbs were placed at the operator's eye level, front visibility was good; no masking was found in the "A" vision sector, but larger masking widths were found in the "B" and "C" vision sectors. Since the masking width exceeded 700 mm, additional tests, such as movement of the light sources to both sides of the operator's eye level, were performed. Less than six masking effects were found in the semi-circle of vision to the front, and more than one masking was found in the "B" and "C" visual fields. The minimum distance between the centers of two masking effects exceeded 2500 mm when measured as a chord on the semi-circle of vision. A blind area diagram was created to define the exact nature of the blind spots and mirror visibility. Conclusions: Visibility evaluation is an effective way to enable proper and safe operation for agricultural tractor operators. Inclusion of this visibility evaluation test in the general testing process might aid tractor manufacturers.
Regarding the formula for measuring the area of a circle, the Archimedes' constant is generally written in front of the square of radius length, but there were a few cases where the Archimedes' constant was written after that in Germany and France. In this study, two things are studied: First, how many students are writing the Archimedes' constant after that? Second, what do the students think about the written order of characters in the formula for measuring the area of a circle? In the online survey of 201 people aged 14 to 21 in Korea, there was a perception of more than 86% that both are possible or only after that are possible. In this study, it is suggested that there is a difference between the general written order of characters and the natural perception of students formed through school education. In addition, students aged 14 to 16 thought more that the Archimedes' constant should be written after that, and after that age, there was a greater perception that both are possible without confusion of meaning. It can be seen that the change in students' perception has emerged through school education on natural mathematical written order of characters after middle school courses. From this point of view, the most common perception can be that if there is no confusion in meaning, then both expressions are possible.
This paper presents only a matching algorithm based on Delaunay triangulation and Parametrization from the extracted minutiae points. This method maps local neighborhood of points of two different point sets to unit-circle using topology information by Delaunay triangulation method from feature points of real fingerprint. Then, a linked convex polygon that includes an interior point is constructed as one-ring which is mapped to unit-circle using Parametrization that keep shape preserve. In local matching, each area of polygon in unit-circle is compared. If the difference of two areas are within tolerance, two polygons are consider to be matched and then translation, rotation and scaling factors for global matching are calculated.
The earlier KANSEI evaluation had to choose not to overlap the opposite meaning of the words, had to choose that some figures are shown step by step and had to choose be prepared things in advance. However, The Study shows a method which visualizes the imprecise evaluations of human without choosing evaluation items which are not prepared figures. The program is used the way which is entered by hand-drawing that the subjects use the way to enter their subjective feelings about the evaluations presented by using the mouse or the graphics tablet. It is possible to express imprecise things about evaluations and the method of drawing is free. The program provides that we can express our thinking by drawing and there are a few limits and the prescribed standard. The area ratio of each circle is expressed as a pie chart and the area of circle what is drawn which is counted automatically at the same time. These things are possible not only to modify a transparency, a thickness of a line, a color and the area of circle what is drawn, but also to adjust the area of circle. The conceptual model is visualized that expresses something by hand-drawing such as a circle. The conceptual model has wide range of applications such as a personnel evaluation, a suffering evaluation and product evaluation. The program currently has been testing the effective of the program's possibilities which is used with the personnel appraisal tool of the nurses themselves who work in nurse support department where the St. Marianna University School of Medicine Hospital is. And also the program is proceeding with development to visualize the conceptual model by dynamic interfaces effectively and the program is applied such as KJ method and a program is used to express the kind of the patient's pain and its level.
In this paper, we discuss how ancient Egyptians find out the area of the circle based on $\ll$Ahmose Papyrus$\gg$. Vogel and Engels studied the quadrature of the circle, one of the basic concepts of ancient Egyptian mathematics. We look closely at the interpretation based on the approximate right triangle of Robins and Shute. As circumstantial evidence for Robbins and Shute's hypothesis, Egyptians prior to the 12th dynasty considered the perception of a right triangle as examples of 'simultaneous equation', 'unit of length', 'unit of slope', 'Egyptian triple', and 'right triangles transfer to Greece'. Finally, we present a method to utilize the squaring the circle by ancient Egyptians interpreted by Robbins and Shute as the dynamic symmetry of Hambidge.
Trot(1999) considered how to calculate the expected area of a random triangle in the unit square $[0,1]{\times}[0,1]$. He used the Mathematica software package for the computational part. In this article, we study various aspects of the probability distribution of a triangle randomly chosen inside the circle of radius r. A simulation activity that can be conducted in statistics and probability classrooms is also considered.
