Hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles is a disorder characterized by excessive sweating that occurs in the hands and feet and that cause severe psychological, social and/or professional disability. The pathophysiological cause is still unknown but the condition is related to over-activity in the Sympathetic Nervous System. We experienced four young patients with hyperhidrosis of the palms and soles that was thought to be initiated by emotional distress, nervousness, stressful situation and anxiety. In the point of Differentiation of Syndrome, this subject was diagnosed as consumptive fever of the Heart and a weakness of the Spleen and damp heat, and was administrated with Yangshimtang-Gamibang. After treatment of herbal medicine and acupuncture, hyperhidrosis and other symptoms of patients were improved.

Objectives : The purpose of this study to report the effect of Socheongryong-tang on solar urticaria. Methods : We treated a 26-years-old woman patient with Solar urticaria on the whole body with Korean medicine. After Korean medical treatment for 7 days, we have confirmed the improvement and disappearance of rashes, wheals, and itching. We recorded pictures of changes on symptoms. Results : After the treatment the grade of VAS was decreased. And rashes, wheals, itching were disappeared. Conclusions : Socheongryong-tang showed improvement in symptoms with solar urticaria. Thus, It is concluded that Socheongryong-tang is effective on the treatment of skin diseases such as solar urticaria.

본 임상연구는 임상연구 모집 공고를 통하여 모집된 대상자 중 Atopic Dermatitis Research Group (2005) 한국인 아토피 피부염 진단기준에 따라 아토피 피부염으로 판정되고 현재 약물(한약, 양약)치료나 외용제 치료를 하고 있지 않은 만 5$\sim$50세의 아토피 피부염 환자를 대상으로 하였다. 피험자들을 이중맹검, 블록무작위배정하여 시험군과 대조군으로 나누어 6주간의 시험기간 동안 육안적 평가, 혈액학적 검사, 피부측정 장비를 통한 기기적 평가를 시험 전후에 실시하여, 시험군에 사용된 제품이 대조군 사용된 제품에 비하여 얼마나 효과적으로 아토피 피부염으로 손상된 피부 장벽을 회복하는지 관찰하였다. 본 임상시험을 통해 'Atomento solution & cream'이 손상된 피부장벽을 회복시키고 피부 보습력을 증가시켜 아토피 피부염에 효과적이었으며, 인체에 이상반응이나 부작용 없이 안전하게 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the results of preceding research related external treatment for Atopic dermatitis(AD). Methods : We studied the 13 research papers that had been published in The Journal of Korean Oriental Medical Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology, The Journal of Korean Oriental Pediatrics, The Journal of Korean Oriental Internal Medicine, The Journal of Korean Oriental Medicine, Korean Journal of Oriental Physiology & Pathology and so on. Results : About 13 treatises, 3 treatises were for the literatual study, I treatise was for the clinical research about the effects of external therapy, 3 treatises were for the effects of herbal medicine along with external treatment on AD development in NC/Nga mice, 6 treatises were for the case of AD. Conclusion : These treatises showed that external treatment is effective method to improve AD. To develop the better external treatment on AD, we have need of studies on the well used prescriptions and herbs through double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled methods, clinic research and so on.

Burn injury is occuring often in our living environment. But there has been little report on the treatment of burn on the basis of Oriental medicine. So we experienced a 53 year old female with second degree burn on the feet and reported the result of the treatment for her with Acupuncture, Herb-med, Negative therapy and Light therapy.

We report one case with paralysis of the sixth cranial nerve, which was diagnosed at Kyung Hee Unversity Hospital. The patient was happened with traffic accident. He showed disorder of both abduction eye movement, headache, double vision and dizziness. We have experienced good improvement to recover paralytic strabismus by the Oriental Medicine.

This study evaluates the effect of G.G.(桂枝湯 加味方) in patients with allergic rhinitis which deteriorates with cold, who visited Oriental hospital of Kyungwon University from march to september in 1996 and found the symptoms were inproved significantly. 1. G.G.(桂枝湯 加味方) was prescribed for the patients with sneezing and more than $80\%$ of patients showed improvement 2. Oriental treatments of allergic rhinitis have been showed relative good results and more constructive study and clinical report are necessary.

Background and Objective : Atrophic scars are the most common complication of acne. Many modalities are proposed but each does not yield satisfactory clinical outcomes. Among therapeutic modalities of acne scars, subcision is a simple, safe procedure with a different and basic mechanism for correcting atrophic and depressed scars. However, there are few reports about such procedure. This study performed to evaluate the effect of subcision treatment on atrophic acne scar. Methods : Five patients with atrophic acne scars of various types(rolling, superficial and deep boxcar, pitted and icepick) were treated by superficial dermal undermining with 25~27 gauge needles. We used GASC(Global Acne Scarring Classification). Satisfaction degree was asked from the patients. Results and Conclusions : After observing patients satisfaction, comparing case photos and GASC, it can be considered that subcision treatment brings great results when performed on atrophic post acne scars.

We observed and studied about 14 cases of clinically glaucoma patients. Glaucoma is called NOK PUNG(綠風) in oriental medicine. Generally glaucoma patients, visiting oriental hospital, have a lower intraocular pressure than that of patients, visting western hospital. The weaksight and asthenopia were improved by acupunctural and Medicinal herbal therapy.

Tinnitus is usually due to insufficiency of Kidney-essence, asthenia of the Spleen and Stomach, diseases caused by exogenous pathogenic factor, Liver fire(肝火) by severe stress, Phlegm -fire(痰火) by surfeit of high caloric food and alcoholic liquor. I observed and treated four patients who had been diagnosed with tinnitus of Liver-fire(肝火) and Phlegm-fire(痰火). After I checked the Inyeong(人迎) and the chon spot(寸口), all of their Inyeong were stronger than chon spot. Unbalance of the Inyeong(人迎) and the chon spot(寸口), and symptoms of tinnitus were removed by Acupuncture therapy of three Yang meridians of the hand(手三陽) and three Yang meridians of the foot(足三陽).
