The Urban thermal environment is influenced and modified in many ways. One modification is brought by the anthropogenic heat generation emitted from the combustion processes and the use of energy such as industrial, domestic and traffic procedure. The anthropogenic heat generation affect an the increase of urban temperature, the well-known urban heat islands. The study on the urban thermal environment needs a great deal of the statistic data about the inner-structure of urban, the contribution of different constructions and the traffic amount on urban thermal environment in finite region. In order to overtake a quantitative analysis of effect of the anthropogenic heat, a distribution map of the urban anthropogenic heat was made using hte data of the energy consumption used at the several constructions and traffic amount of vehicles in Pusan Metropolitan. Annual mean heat flux over the 4$\textrm{km}^2$ urbanized area in Pusan is 41.5W/$m^2$, ranging from 31.4W/$m^2$ in summertime to 59.5W/$m^2$ in wintertime and maximum diurnal anthropogenic heat generation is corresponding to 10% of irradiance during summertime.
The detailed modeling method of photovoltaic (PV) module are useful to perform detailed analysis of PV array performance for changing meteorological conditions, verify actual rated power of PV system sizing and, determine the optimal design of PV system and components. This paper investigates a modeling approach of PV module performance in terms of irradiance and temperature changes and compared measured with simulated value of PV modules.
Tracking the Maximum Power Point (MPP) of a photovoltaic (PV) array is usually an essential part of a PV system. The problem addressed by Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) techniques is to find the voltage $V_{MPP}$ or current $I_{MPP}$ at which a PV array should operate to generate the maximum power output $P_{MPP}$ under a given temperature and irradiance. MPPT control methods such as the perturb and observe method and the incremental conductance method require a microprocessor or DSP to determine if the duty cycle should be increased or not. This paper proposes a simple and fast analog MPPT method. The proposed control scheme tracks the MPP very quickly and its hardware implementation is simple when compared with the conventional techniques. The new algorithm can successfully track the MPP even in the case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. In addition, it has higher efficiency than ordinary algorithms.
Solar array simulator (SAS) is a special DC power supply that regulates the output voltage or current to emulate characteristics of photovoltaic (PV) panels. Especially, the control of SAS is a challenging task due to the nonlinearity in the output curve, which is dependent on irradiance as well as temperature and is determined by panel materials. Conventionally, both current-mode control and voltage-mode control should be alternated by partitioning the operating curve into multiple sections, which is not only for the measurement noise problem with the feedback sensing but also for the control stability issue near the maximum power point. However, the occurrence of transition among different controllers may deteriorate the overall performance. To eliminate the mode transitions, a novel single controller scheme has been introduced in this paper, where the reference operating projection technique enables simple, smooth and numerically stable control. Theoretical consideration on the loop stability issue is discussed and the performance is verified experimentally for the emulation of a PV panel data in view of stability and response speed.
The remote monitoring system of this paper is a program for monitoring the temperature, voltage, and solar irradiance that made from photovoltaic(PV) system in remote area. And this monitoring system helps to check the efficiency and situation of PV system. The main subject of this paper is about making the more useful monitoring program to get and save the data from PV system. This program is monitoring the PV system by using the LabVIEW program.
As the maximum power operating point(MPOP) of photovoltaic(PV) power generation systems changes with changing atmospheric conditions such as solar radiation and temperature, an important consideration in the design of efficient PV system is to track the MPOP correctly. Many maximum power point tracking(MPPT) techniques have been considered in the past, however, techniques using microprocessors with appropriate MPPT algorithms are favored because of their flexibility and compatibility with different PV arrays. Although the efficiency of these MPPT algorithms is usually high, it drops noticeably in case of rapidly changing atmospheric conditions. This paper analysed and researched the characteristics of three MPPT algorithms; P&O, Inc&Cond, ImP&O and simulated them with irradiance changing.
Maximum power point tracking(MPPT) is used in photovoltaic(PV) systems to maximize the photovoltaic array output power, irrespective of the temperature and irradiation conditions. The object of this paper is to compare and analyze MPPT efficiency for different MPPT techniques by changing irradiance. Also, this paper introduces transformerless grid-connected inverter. Simple flow charts and characteristics of each MPPT algorithm are shown. The implementation of transformerless grid-connected inveter system was based on a digital signal processor(DSP). Simulation was carried out for each MPPT method.
The photovoltaic system is affected by various conditions such as temperature and irradiance. Because non-uniform irradiation and partial shading conditions affect the entire string of cells connected in series, a bypass diode is used to bypass the current flow normally. In order to find the maximum power point in partial shade conditions, it is necessary to estimate various methods of maximum power point tracking. In this paper, the hybrid method of MPPT using Lambert W function and perturbation & observation algorithm is proposed under partial shading conditions. The simulation results are obtained using MATLAB/Simulink and shows the improvement of the accuracy of MPPT.
A photovoltaic/thermal (PVT)solar system is the solar technology that allows for simultaneous conversion of solar energy into both electricity and heat. This paper compared the performance of PVT system with a conventional PV module and solar collector and analyzed electrical and thermal efficiency of PVT system in terms of solar irradiance and inlet temperature of the working fluid. Based on the experimental data, thermal and electrical efficiencies of he glazed PVT system were57.9% and14.27% under zero reduced temperature condition which were lower by 13.6% than the solar thermal absorber plate and by 0.08% than the PV module respectively. For the unglazed PVT system it had lower thermal efficiency than the solar thermal absorber plate but higher electrical performance than the PV module due to the cooling effect by the working fluid. However, total efficiency of the glazed PVT system was72.2% which was higher than combined efficiencies of the solar collector and PV module. Besides, total efficiency of the PVT system would be much higher if calculated based on unit area.
