The United Nation agreed to adopt the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) until 2008 to solve the significant differences enough to result in different labels or MSDS for the same chemical in different jurisdictions. Though the GHS is an ideal solution in the respect of pursuing only one format of a MSDS throughout the world, it may cause confusion at the beginning due to lack of information. So the Korean Ministry of Labor (MOL) revised the Industrial Safety and Health Act (ISHA) and related public notice on the classification & labelling of chemicals according to the GHS in 2006. The transition period for the implementation of the GHS for substances was set until Jun 30, 2010, and for mixtures until Jun 30, 2013. To promote the implementation of the GHS in Korea, we developed an application program for constructing MSDS database and a management program for providing MSDS contents on the web in accordance with the GHS. We analyzed the sixteen sections of MSDS by the GHS guideline, and the result showed the necessity to construct logically connected DB for chemical identifier, hazard classification, label, standard phrases and regulatory information. Each section of a MSDS was divided into sub-databases to update the database efficiently. According to Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), the sub-databases were automatically assembled and subsequently a full MSDS is produced. At present, MSDS database for 6,314 substances has been built and provided through internet as the MSDS Editing program. During the service period from January 1 to March 31, 13,666 users have searched MSDSs for 33,401 substances. During program review, some comments about the classification results and other MSDS element sources were reported but no technical bug reported. We expect that the MSDS DB management system in accordance with GHS will accelerate the implementation of the GHS in Korea.
The major purposes of this study were 1) to present a desirable guideline for writers who would develop the new Introduction-to-Industry textbook through the comparative analysis of 4 different kinds of current Introduction-to-Industry textbooks, 2) to help educators, who make national college entrance exam in the vocational inquiry area, make good exam items with the results of the study, and 3) to offer effective methods of teaching and learning in the field of industrial education with them. Research method used in this study was mainly literature review with the scrutinization of the literature related to the Introduction-to-Industry textbooks. Results of this study showed that all textbooks compared do mostly comply with the national writer's specific guidelines for the Introduction-to-Industry textbooks. However there were varieties for the all textbooks in a sense of deployment balance for the contents of the textbook chapters. There were also considerable differences for the deployment of supplementary materials, evaluative materials, visual materials and etc. according to the characteristics of each textbook. The degree of the connectivity between the textbooks and the national college entrance exam in the area of the vocational inquiry was similar for the each textbook. However, it was not good enough for the students to study one textbook for the preparation of the exam in the vocational inquiry area because the problems in the exam were set in the range of covering the all different kinds of textbooks by the examiners.
Digital radiography has been replacing rapidly the analog radiography for diagnosis of pneumoconiosis. The purpose of this study is to compare quality control of digital radiography (DR) and analog radiography (AR) for chest radiography in medical institution for pneumoconiosis (MIP) For the first time, we visited MIP to evaluate the chest radiography which is used for patients with pneumoconiosis, including equipment, technical parameters and reading environment. There were 33 institutions. DR and AR were installed in 24 and 9 institutions, respectively. Between DR and AR, we compared the radiological technique (RT), image quality (IQ) and reading environment (RE) to use the guideline published by Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute (OSHRI). The image quality was rated by two experienced chest radiologists for pneumoconiosis with certified from OSHRI. The chest radiography equipment was not significantly difference between AR and DR, but there were significantly difference in tube voltage and grid ratio used for chest radiography except to tube current, exposure time. Statistically, DR is significantly higher in RT(70.3 vs. 43.8, p = 0.009), RE(77.7 vs. 33.3, p = 0.004) than AR, but it's not significantly difference in IQ (65.6 vs. 52.8, p = 0.050). AR and DR in RT were passed 33.3%, 75.0% respectively (p = 0.044) and 44.4%, 79.2% (p = 0.090) in IQ and 44.4%, 91.7% (p = 0.009) in RE. In MIP, DR needs to replace AR in diagnosis of pneumoconiosis.
Recently many companies began to feel the pressures of cost savings due to the global recession, so they have been interested in the Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing is one of using method of IT resources through the network. Users can borrow softwares or hardwares instead of buying them. Many people expect remarkable growth in Cloud Computing industry because of it's effectiveness. But Cloud Computing industry is still at an early stage. Especially, people who in the public sector hesitate to adopt Cloud Computing Services due to security issues and their conservative views. Also, they just have limited understanding, so we need to investigate what they really know and understand. Researches about the Cloud Computing generally focus on technical issues, so we can hardly find researches reference for decision making in considering the services. The study aims to investigate diverse factors for agencies' adoption decisions, such as benefits, costs, and risk in developing the most ideal type of cloud computing service for them, and performs priority analyses by applying ANP (Analytic Network Process). The results identify that features pertaining to the risk properties were considered the most significant factors. According to this research, the usage of private cloud computing services may prove to be appropriate for public environment in Korea. The study will hopefully provide the guideline to many governmental agencies and service providers, and assist the related authorities with cloud computing policy in coming up with the relevant regulations.

The TPLMs is a system to manage the total amount of pollutants discharged from the watershed in order to achieve the target water quality of the river. In this process, the pollutant load can be classified into generation, discharge and delivery load. When using equation 2, the discharge coefficient should be 1. In case of using equation 3, it is considered that the discharge coefficient defined in the Technical Guideline should be applied. The delivery load is calculated as the product of the discharge load and the delivery ratio, and the delivery ratio is defined as the rate at which the pollutant discharged from the watershed reaches a specific point in the stream. In this study, the delivery ratio estimation method proposed by Hwang (2016) was applied to the Yonggang watershed in the Nakdong river. And the input data of QUALKO2 model was generated by using the estimated delivery ratio (equation 3) and the validation study was conducted by comparing with DRave (equation 2). As a result of the study, it is possible to use both the equation 2 and the equation 3, but it is necessary to change the methodology according to the application of the discharge coefficient.

Recently, R.O.K. Navy is increasing re-usability of design data and application of M&S(Modeling and Simulation) through the establishment of collaborative product development environment focused on Naval Ship Product Model(NSPM). As a result, the reliability of the result of design is getting better, and furthermore, a study to improve quality of construction through simulation of production/operation is in progress. Accordingly, the database construction of design data and the DB(Database) quality become important, but there was not research related to those or it was just initial state. This paper conducted research about system of the quality verification process of shape elements which compose NSPM based on the quality verification guideline of NSPM as the result of the precedent study. The hull surface was limited as verification object. The study to verify two things that application of basic drawing by the cad model of hull surface, and whether there is error in the geometric quality of cad model was progressed. To achieve this goal, the verification criteria and algorithm were defined and the prototype system which is based on was developed.
Recently, the research to visualize and to reproduce evacuation situations such as terrorism, the disaster and fire indoor space has been come into the spotlight and designing a model for interior space and reliable analysis through safety evaluation of the life is required. Therefore, this paper aims to develop simulation model which is able to suggest evacuation route guidance and safety analysis by considering the major risk factor of fire in actual building. First of all, we designed 3D-based fire and evacuation model at a subway station building in Incheon and performed fire risk analysis through thermal parameters on the basis of interior materials supplied by Incheon Transit Corporation. In order to evaluate safety of a life, ASET (Available Safe Egress Time), which is the time for occupants to endure without damage, and RSET (Required Safe Egress Time) are calculated through evacuation simulation by Fire Dynamics Simulator. Finally, we can come to the conclusion that a more realistic safety assessment is carried out through indoor space model based on 3-dimension building information and simulation analysis applied by safety guideline for measurement of fire and evacuation risk.

The recent bridge construction projects is demanded more sophisticated risk management measures and loss forecasts to brace for risk losses from an increase in the trend of bridge construction. This study aims to analyze the risk factors that caused the loss of material in actual bridge construction and to develop a quantified predictive loss model, based on the past record of insurance payment by major domestic insurance companies for bridge construction projects. For the development of quantitative bridge construction loss model, the dependent variable was selected as the loss ratio, i.e., the ratio of insurance payout divided by the total project cost, while the independent variable adopted 1) Technical factors: superstructure type, foundation type, construction method, and bridge length 2) Natural hazards: typhoon and flood 3) Project information: construction period and total project cost. Among the selected independent variables, superstructure type, construction method, and project period were shown to affect the ratio of bridge construction losses. The results of this study can provide government agencies, bridge construction design and construction and insurance companies with the quantitative damage prediction and risk assessment services, using risk indicators and loss prediction functions derived from the findings of this study and can be used as a guideline for future basic bridge risk assessment development research.

Recently, design technology of has been required such as catamaran yacht with high-speed according to expand a marine leisure industry. The domestic technical development for design and production of yacht is not actively than Canada, USA, Japan etc. However, with further development of yacht design & technology, it is need to develop a key technology related to increase the value of catamaran yacht. In the present paper, new guideline is suggest for catamaran yacht as like kinds of marine leisure ship in order for fundamental structure design and structural analysis for twin-hulled ship yacht and techniques for structural analysis as sea leisure ship in this research. The class of society has not been proposed formally about regulation and methodology for estimation of strength of small hight-speed craft with satisfying two conditions as noted; length less than 50meters, ratio of length to breadth less than 12. In the present study, we were adopted DNV (Yachts, Design Principles, Design Loads, Hull Structural Design) Rule and KR (FRP rule application guide) for scantling of structural members. Furthermore, ABS rule is used for structural calculation about application of loading conditions for catamaran yacht. This study can be available feedback role to manufacture of 38ft diffusion style for catamaran yacht. It is expected that this study will be a good reference in order to design of catamaran yacht with high-speed.
The design in modern industrial society is the core of corporate administrational strategy and a factor that determines the competitiveness of a country. And the process of purchasing products is the matter related to the awareness of design which expresses the desire to own the design product that consumers prefer, implying that the aesthetic feature of product has become a critical characteristics of product design rather than the technical function of product. In this regard, the development of product design with a new dimension is urgently called for, by analyzing and shedding light on the aesthetic features of factors related to the preference of consumers. This study considers the preceding studies on the aesthetic factors and the reaction of customers to the product design to figure out the importance of factors related to the preference of customers, in an effort to shed light on the aesthetic factors that affect the customers' preference of product and the evaluation of product. In addition to that, this study investigated the preference that Korean and Chinese customers display toward the product and assessed the aesthetic features of preferred product in order to come to the conclusion from the experiment and analysis on how much effect the aesthetic factors and the aesthetic factors by product have on the preference of customers. Therefore, this study tries to propose the data that can be useful for the design of product targeted for consumers in Korea and China, by shedding light on what aesthetic factors that products preferred by consumers in Korea and China have and how much effect such factors have on the preference of consumers in an attempt to provide the guideline on the aesthetic factors of the product design.
