A Study on Relative Importance of Project team members Competencies Using AHP (AHP를 활용한 프로젝트 팀 구성원의 개인역량 상대적 중요도 연구)

  • The purpose of this paper is to identify a relative importance and priority of the factors of Competencies of project team member. It aims to present the differential competency factors from a differentiated perspective by applying the Leadership Development Questionnaire, which is the competency dimension required for manager, to team member. (1) Background: The diverse needs of customers and companies, and the uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity, and volatility of the environment surrounding the company in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution threaten the survival of company. In this respect, companies should implement the project management approach and strive to increase the capabilities of each team member. (2) Methods: AHP method was used to prioritize which factors were considered more importance level and the gap of relative importance level between project manager group and team members group. (3) Results: In the analysis of the relative importance of the upper class, weights were derived in the order of managerial competence, intellectual competence, and emotional competence. The sub-factor that respondents prioritize was communication as the 1st priority, and it was analyzed in the order of strategic perspective, achieving, critical analysis and judgement, and vision and imagination. There were some differences in the ranking of the relative importance of achieving and vision and imagination attributes between the PM group and TM group, it was analyzed that there was no significant difference overall. (4) Implications: The results of this study confirmed the recognition that team members are required to have the same competencies as the project manager. And based on the priorities of the competencies required of team members, companies are expected to cultivate professional and competent team members, and expand the roles and authority of team members so that they can actively carry out projects.

  • As the business environment is rapidly changing with globalization and complexity of information flows, the uncertainty is also very increased for project environment. Although many studies have been conducted to find out the critical factors for project success, there still exist different views to define project success. Furthermore, implementing success formula for one project does not necessarily guarantee a success for another project since there are other elements that impede the success of project. In this regards, it is imperative to examine what are the barriers to project success. This study aims to examine the barriers that impede the success of project. Past literature was thoroughly reviewed to collect and develop a preliminary list of elements that affected project performance negatively. Experts were interviewed to refine the list and the final list of the measurement items were developed. A survey questionnaire was developed with the final list of measurement items, and a survey was conducted on the practitioners with project experience. After the survey, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the final list to extract the component dimensions which in turn formed the group of project barriers. The exploratory factor analysis provided ten factors, which are difficulty of process management, failure of project feasibility analysis, cost overruns and lack of cost benefits, unclarity project plan, strategic consistency error, stakeholder conflict, inaccuracy of requirement definition, disturbance of communication, technical environment change, negative attitude of top management.

Water Supply Performance Assessment of Multipurpose Dams Using Sustainability Index (지속가능성지수를 이용한 다목적댐의 용수공급 이행도 평가)

  • The water resources sustainability is becoming an important issue in consideration of hydrologic uncertainty by global warming and climate change. This study is to assess the water supply performance for the major multipurpose dams using sustainability index. Parameters, mostly utilized in water resources system assessment, are selected in respect of applicability and flexibility, and those parameters are used as a variable of the composite index. In practice, the composite index including reliability, resiliency, vulnerability and maximum deficit are applied to 15 multipurpose dams and 4 major basins. And to conclude, Daechungdam in the Geum river basin and Imhadam, Hapchondam and Namgangdam in the Nakdong river basin show low sustainability comparing with other dams. The Nakdong river basin needs to develop alternatives to improve water supply stability because it indicates the most poor sustainability level.

Using fuzzy-neural network to predict hedge fund survival (퍼지신경망 모형을 이용한 헤지펀드의 생존여부 예측)

  • For the effects of the global financial crisis cause hedge funds to have a strong influence on financial markets, it is needed to study new approach method to predict hedge fund survival. This paper proposes to organize fuzzy neural network using hedge fund data as input to predict hedge fund survival. The variables of hedge fund data are ambiguous to analyze and have internal uncertainty and these characteristics make it challenging to predict their survival from the past records. The object of this study is to evaluate the predictability of fuzzy neural network which uses grades of membership to predict survival. The results of this study show that proposed system is effective to predict the hedge funds survival and can be a desirable solution which helps investors to support decision-making.

  • To analyze a bearing capacity for pile groups, a number of model tests have been done and theoretical methods studied. In the case of design of group pile bearing capacity is calculated with only pile capacity. But uncertainty of bearing capacity and behavior of foundation cap(raft) leads to conservative design ignoring bearing effects of foundation cap. In the case of considering bearing capacity of foundation cap, the simple sum of bearing capacity of foundation cap and pile groups cannot be the bearing capacity of total foundation system. Since cap-pile-soil interaction affects the behavior of pile groups. Thus, understanding cap-pile-soil interaction is very important in optimal design. In this paper, the piled raft behavior is studied through model tests of 2$\times$2, 2$\times$3, 3$\times$3 pile group. Changes of behavior of pile group foundation by touching effects of foundation cap with soil are studied. Also changes of spacing between piles. Foundation cap is made of rigid steel plate and piles are made steel pipes. From this model tests, the changes of behavior changes of pile groups by touching effects of foundation cap with soil are studied.

  • Recently, the importance of efficient resource management has been highlighted due to the uncertainty of its security. Developed countries promote the legislative provision and transition of industrial structure to maximize the efficiency of resource use through supporting the sustainable resource management at national level. Meanwhile Korea has very sensitive industrial structure along with the international resource supply and demand conditions. It is acutely necessary to improve the resource productivity with the various action plans such as the increase of recycling rate and the establishment of methodical resource management system. Especially, the study on the direction of each flow stage and the concrete action plans for using resource efficiently in the life-cycle of resource will be required. Therefore, this study suggests the future direction of each flow stage(production stage and circulatory stage), and the concrete action plans to improve the present problems of resource management in Korea.

  • This paper presents the robust stability analysis and design methodology of the fuzzy feedback linearization control systems. Uncertainty and disturbances with known bounds are assumed to be included Un the Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy models representing the nonlinear plants. $L_2$ robust stability of the closed system is analyzed by casting the systems into the diagonal norm bounded linear differential inclusions (DNLDI) formulation. Based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization programming, a numerical method for finding the maximum stable ranges of the fuzzy feedback linearization control gains is also proposed. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, the robust stability analysis and control design examples are given.

The Effects of Alternating Set Pressure Changes on Dynamic Tissue Perfusion Characteristics (교대부양 설정압력 변화가 인체조직의 동적인 관류특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The quantitative effectiveness of powered support surfaces such as APAM in preventing and treating pressure ulcers has not been sufficiently evaluated because of uncertainty of alternating pressure load input and lack of interpretation of dynamic perfusion characteristics of soft tissue. The aim was to verify the dynamic loading effects to sacral tissue perfusion characteristics from alternating set pressure changes. We developed integrated experiment system to supply alternating load to supinely positioned sacrum and concurrently measured $TcPO_2$, $TcPCO_2$ and air cell pressure. Ten aged subjects (5 female, 5 male) were tested with alternating set pressure 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60mmHg. From the dynamic perfusion response eight characteristic parameters were proposed such as average, minimum, maximum and perfusion range regarding to $TcPO_2$ and $TcPCO_2$. A one-way ANOVA was carried out to determine whether the manipulation of alternating set pressure had any effect on $TcPO_2$ and $TcPCO_2$. From the dynamic tissue perfusion response we found mean $TcPO_2$ decreased exponentially as alternating pressure load increased and perfusion range varied mainly because of minimum level change of $TcPO_2$. And perfusion range of $TcPCO_2$ affected by increase of maximum value of $TcPCO_2$. From the results we can get more strict insights about actual physiological dynamic tissue perfusion mechanism under alternating pressure load.

Comparison of Adolescents' Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) Profile between Traumatized Group and Non-Traumatized Group, and between PTSD Symptom Group and Non-PTSD Symptom Group among the Traumatized Group (외상 경험군과 비경험군 및 외상 후 스트레스 장애 증상 발생군과 비발생군 청소년에서 기질 성격 특성 비교연구)

  • Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate how trauma and personality system was related by comparing TCI profiles of the trauma versus non-trauma groups and PTSD symptom positive (PTSD symptom [+] group) and PTSD symptom negative groups (PTSD symptom [-] group). Methods : We compared the difference of Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) profiles between the trauma (n=61) and the non-trauma (n=61) groups, and between the PTSD symptom [+] group (n=40) and PTSD symptom [-] group (n=21). Results : Comparison of the TCI's seven higher dimensions between the PTSD symptom [+] and [-] groups showed significant differences only in C (Cooperativeness). And in the analysis of TCI's lower dimensions the significant differences were observed in the HA1 (Worry and pessimism), HA2 (Tension regarding uncertainty), and C4 (Compassion) subscales. However, significant differences in the higher dimensions appeared more clearly between the non-traumatized group and the traumatized group. Compared to the non-traumatized group, the traumatized group scored significantly higher in HA (Harm avoidance) and RD (Reward dependence), while lower in SD (Self-directedness). Conclusion : Overall, present results suggest that traumatic experiences may affect personality systems regardless of the development and of PTSD symptoms.

The Study on the Difference of Management Performance around 2009 in Korean Agricultural Cooperatives - Focused on the Result of CEO Election and Specialized Executives Director - (2009년 전후 전국 지역농협의 경영성과 차이 분석 - 조합장 교체 및 상임이사제도 운영을 중심으로 -)

  • This Research focuses on the financial performance change analysis when the CEO has been changed as the consequence of the Korean Agricultural Co-op members voting. The CEO turnover is the critical event for every cooperatives because it may result in the uncertainty of management, even if top management change has a possibility to improve the management performance. To verify the CEO turnover effect for Korean Co-op financial performance, we utilized nationwide net income change data for each year before and after 2009 in this research. As a result of this effort, we find that the financially worse performance just before Co-op member voting has an positive effect on the CEO turnover. Secondary, we find a positively volatile change of net income after CEO turnover has been occurred. Specialized Executives Director system of Korean agricultural Co-ops has not the significantly positive meaning about the net income change.
