Development of a Cross Capacitor Electrode for Measurements of Liquids Dielectric Constants (액체의 유전상수 정밀측정용 크로스 커패시터 전극 개발)

  • Using the principle of the cross capacitor, a precise system for measuring the electric constants of liquids has been developed. The four electrodes of the cross capacitor were formed around fused-silica tube by plating a gold film. The effect of a non-uniform tube wall ok the measured permittivity was investigated As the individual characteristics of the tubes were determined to be constant, the pure dielectric constants extracted from any effect of the fused-silica material could be precisely derived with uncertainty of less than ${\pm}$ 0.02∼0.05 %.

  • In this paper are presented dynamic modeling and path-tracking of differential drive wheeled-mobile robots(WMRs) having the limited drive-torques. Instantaneously coincident coordinate system, force/torque propagation and Newton's equilibrium law are used to induce the dynamic model. When drive-torques generated by inverse dynamics exceed the limitation, we make wheeled-mobile robots follow the reference path by modifying the planned reference trajectory with time-scaling method. The controller is introduced to compensate for error owing to modeling uncertainty and measurement noise. And simulation results prove that method proposed by this paper is efficient.

  • Inspection of RCS flow measurements for the domestic pressurized water reactors has been performed by the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) as one of the authorized periodical inspection activities. The inspection results for the Westinghouse-type plants reveal that 1) the RCS flow instrumentation has been calibrated by using the initial design and commissioning test result, without reflecting the cycle specific reference flow measurements, 2) the loop-to-loop now variation in the actual flow measurement which has not been considered in the safety analysis affects the asymmetric How transient results, and 3) the measured RCS flows in Kori 3 and 4, Yonggwang 1 and 2 do not support the definition of the best estimate RCS flow, approaching the RCS flow limit. In this study, the revealed problems were discussed with review of the design and the RCS flow measurement uncertainty evaluation, and the technical approaches and recommendations for resolving these problems were proposed.

A Two-Dimensional Position Sensor Using Cable Extension Transducers (케이블센서를 이용한 2차원 위치측정 시스템)

  • Based on the cable-extension transducers, a new technique for two dimensional position measurement is developed in this paper. This new technique includes the use of two such transducers and the planar position is determined through triangulation. This paper also presents uncertainty analysis results for establishing sensor design specifications. An actual prototyped sensor system is built and its accuracy is verified through h\both experiments with coordinate measurement machines and its application to the real-time control of a high load wheeled mobile robot. This new type of position sensor can be easily used in a wide variety of automation applications in industry for two dimensional position measurements with high accuracy over a relatively large range, and it is both cast effective and robust against hostile environments.

  • In this paper the critical speed analysis and design sensitivity investigation are carried out with an APU(auxiliary power unit) gas turbine having a spline shaft connection. The DDM(direct differential method) is directly applied to formulate the critical speed design sensitivity problem of a general nonsymmetric-matrix rotor-bearing system. The design sensitivity analysis have shown that the critical speed change rate to the support modeling of the spline shaft connection point is extremely negligible, and thereby its design uncertainty is lifted. It has also been confirmed that the critical speeds up to the 4th are not sensitive to the design stiffness coefficients of 4-main bearings or supports, including two air foil bearings. Further, the critical speed change rate to the shaft-element length have shown quantitatively that the spline shaft has some limited influence on the 4th critical speed.

  • The objective of this paper is to present a method for designing robust positioning control systems of a flexible arm using $H_2/H_{\infty}$ and $\mu$ theory. We begin with a description of the flexible arm based on the model identification method and discuss the derivation of the model uncertainty. The validity of the obtained model is confirmed experimentally Next, a robust controller is designed based on the $H_2/H_{\infty}$ and $\mu$ theory by which we can improve robustness of the entire system. On this occasion, we also propose a general plant formation suitable to $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed design method is verified through experimentation.

  • Robust control of a GFR composite beam with a distributed PVDF sensor and piezo-ceramic actuator is presented En this paper. Modal analysis method and modal coordinates are introduced to obtain the state educations of the structural system. 1st and 2nd natural frequencies are considered In the modeling, because robust control theory which is robustness to structured uncertainty is adopted to suppress the vibration. If the controllers designed by H$\^$$\infty$/ theory do not satisfy control performance, it is improved by ${\mu}$-synthesis method with D-K Iteration so that the ${\mu}$-controller based on the structured singular value satisfies the nominal performance and robust performance.

  • This paper proposes an adaptive control scheme for an autopilot design of Relaxed-Static-Stability(RSS) Missiles with saturating actuator. The feedback linearization controller eliminates nonlinear terms in RSS missile dynamics and makes the entire system linear. But modeling errors, disturbances and the nonlinear mismatch due to input constraints exert a bad influence on the performance of the feedback linearization controller Thus, first, we derive a parametric affine uncertainty model with modeling errors and disturbances. Then an adaptive control law with anti-windup scheme is developed, where the bounds of uncertainties are estimated with adaptive laws.   • 에티오피아 Awash 하천유역의 수자원은 경제적, 사회적, 생태적으로 매우 중요하다. 하지만 이 지역에 신뢰성 높은 기상자료의 확보가 매우 어렵기 때문에 Climate Forecast System Reanalysis (CFSR)의 글로벌 기상자료를 이용한 수문성분해석결과와 기존의 제한된 기상자료를 활용한 결과를 비교하여 향후 두 자료를 적절히 활용하는 방안을 모색하였다. 수문모형은 글로벌 적용이 가능한 SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool)을 활용하였고, 상이한 자료를 이용하여 구한 모형의 성능은 두 지점의 관측 유출량과의 비교를 통해 검토하였다. 매개변수의 보정은 Sequential uncertainty fitting (SUFI-2)방법을 이용하였다. Keleta 및 Melka Kunture 소유역에서의 유출량을 비교한 결과 기존의 가용 기상자료를 활용하여 구한 결과에 비해 CFSR 글로벌 기상자료를 이용한 결과가 보다 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 유역면적이 Keleta소유역에 비해 6배가 큰 Melka Kunture 유역에서 CFSR 기상자료를 이용하여 산정한 유출량이 더욱 정확한 것으로 나타나 유역면적이 큰 곳에서 글로벌 자료의 활용성은 더욱 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 글로벌 기상자료의 활용은 아프리카의 대부분 지역과 같이 확보된 기상자료가 부족한 곳에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 전망되었다.

A New Dynamic HRA Method and Its Application

  • This paper presents a new dynamic human reliability analysis method and its application for quantifying the human error probabilities in implementing management action. For comparisons of current HRA methods with the new method, the characteristics of THERP, HCR, and SLIM-MAUD, which are most frequency used method in PSAs, are discussed. The action associated with implementation of the cavity flooding during a station blackout sequence is considered for its application. This method is based on the concepts of the quantified correlation between the performance requirement and performance achievement. The MAAP 3.0B code and Latin Hypercube sampling technique are used to determine the uncertainty of the performance achievement parameter. Meanwhile, the value of the performance requirement parameter is obtained from interviews. Based on these stochastic obtained, human error probabilities are calculated with respect to the various means and variances of the things. It is shown that this method is very flexible in that it can be applied to any kind of the operator actions, including the actions associated with the implementation of accident management strategies.
